Check out the breathtaking moment a rare iridescent cloud formation glows with vibrant colours before a sudden lightning flash strikes within the storm.
Ritchie Hunt, from North Somerset, England, captured the incredible footage while at Tofo Beach, Mozambique.
The video showcases a stunning example of cloud iridescence, where sunlight diffracts through tiny ice crystals, creating a spectrum of shimmering rainbow colours across the top of a growing storm cloud, known as a pileus cloud.
As the cloud continues to build, beams of light can be seen radiating through the formation.
At the peak of the moment, a brief but powerful lightning flash erupts deep within the towering cumulus cloud, visible for a split second.
Ritchie said: “It was an incredible mix of colours and lightning all happening at once.”
