A serious aviation incident occurred at LaGuardia Airport involving an Air Canada Express flight operated by Jazz Aviation late Sunday night. The aircraft reportedly collided with a Port Authority vehicle, including a firetruck, while taxiing on the runway during heavy weather conditions.

Initial reports indicated that around 100 passengers were onboard, though later updates confirmed 72 passengers and 4 crew members. The collision resulted in critical injuries to four firefighters and serious injuries to two officers in the vehicle, who sustained broken limbs and were hospitalized in stable condition.

Tragically, the pilot and co-pilot of the aircraft lost their lives in the incident. Despite the severity of the crash, no major injuries were reported among the passengers.
