00:00I'm John Cena and I love cars ever since I got my first ride at 14 I've been
00:11obsessed with everything about them there's no cool way to do this hey guys
00:14I'm in the car I've had the privilege of driving them all from luxury cars to
00:19SUVs to sports cars 30 to 100 miles an hour in a matter of seconds if it's got
00:25four wheels I need to know every single detail about it I feel like when you run
00:31out of the tunnel at WrestleMania that's how excited I the passion I have for
00:36cars is matched by the admiration I have for people with grit drive and
00:41perseverance and to me there's nothing better than connecting with someone to
00:45find out what fuels their drive to succeed so join me as I spend time with
00:50the most successful celebrities on the planet and talk about what drives them
00:54both on the road and in their heart we'll get intimate details and some
00:58stories you've never heard before as well as taking a look at their really really
01:04really cool rides this is what drives you with John Cena
01:12today I'm in the music city Nashville Tennessee to hang with Kane Brown this
01:19former high school choir singer turned country music megastar has been
01:23absolutely crushing it since breaking onto the scene not only did his self
01:28titled album top the Billboard top country albums chart for 13 weeks his
01:34singles heaven and what ifs became the most streamed country songs of all time and
01:40while he's been raking in AMA and CMT awards he's also had a staggering 11 songs
01:46reached number one on the Billboard country airplay chart time magazine even
01:52named Kane one of the hundred most influential people in the world but I'm
01:57curious to hear more about his life before superstardom
02:00his rough childhood and what he loves most about performing live I've also heard
02:11that his garage is stocked with some impressive cars which I am hyped to see
02:16how's it going man how are you my friend nice to meet you very nice to meet you as well yes sir thank
02:39you so much for inviting me into an amazing space thank you hell this is
02:45beautiful yeah once code would happen and I was stuck at home I was like okay if I
02:48never have to leave again at least it'll be fun tell me about where we're at
02:52yeah so this is a little bar area cold spot any significant yeah it was like my
02:58granddad I have a song about it too I had a granddaddy that had a store in
03:01Rossville Georgia sold fishing supplies crickets buying the sausages it was a big
03:07part of my childhood I'm trying to keep it alive what else we got man yeah then we
03:11got the NBA basketball court man awesome and I see the beautiful logo center court I'm just a
03:24family man family is everything to me I have two daughters and a son on the way
03:28now congratulations thank you but I feel like that's you know they're what got me
03:31here my wife's huge supporter me always has my back and it's not just for my
03:35family family it's also for my family on the road like my band everybody that
03:39works for me we're all super tight and we have each other's backs it's an
03:43absolutely beautiful what do we have over here well that's my rehearsal room over
03:47there so this is where my band rehearses my wife put all my plaques in the in the
03:54living room so it was for me it was just like why but we didn't have anywhere else to
03:59put it I get you and that's how I love that I get the storm in here now wow very very cool
04:04room now I'll tell you the fun stuff now the fun stuff this place is spectacular thank you so
04:14this is a two racing simulators later this is awesome and then that's my golf simulator so with
04:22something like this I would learn this is fantastic so you really genuinely don't have
04:27to leave and then of course the glass doesn't hide the reason I'm here yes okay if we check that out
04:34let's go cool let's go oh man oh man as we go through this uh Subaru Cadillac Nissan Yamaha and two Ford
04:53pickup trucks man I want to get to see everything I don't even know where to start
04:59man I want to get to see everything I don't even know where to start I see some commonality here you
05:10have an F-150 and an F-250 tell me about the 250 this actually goes up higher you're kidding so
05:17adjustable air suspension yeah it's on ultimate air ride so it goes up to 19 and a half inches
05:22you're happy with it oh yeah okay so tell me about the Subaru it doesn't look like a Subaru no it's so
05:29light and I had it wrapped uh like Jesse from fast and furious looks great no he's in a Volkswagen but
05:34why why the fast and furious route that was my favorite car off the movies is where does that sound no it's
05:40not weird man it has a gravity to it it's not weird at all you're you're in friendly company you're not
05:44you're not alone the Nissan yeah that's the alpha model so that's the big boy and it looks complete
05:51like nothing on that looks stock no yeah it's twin turbo I'll open the hood for you oh man thank you
05:57thank you thank you and a lot of folks I'm I'm guilty of this myself a lot of folks will do body
06:03kits because of aesthetics I have a feeling everything works on this car as far as aerodynamics and down
06:09force and oh man wow twin turbo setup the engine puts out 1200 brake horsepower holy hell what got
06:22you into cars I think I just grew up broke around a bunch of friends that had money and they were
06:29always flaunting their cars and stuff and then I was driving a beat-up s10 with duct tape over my
06:35real life yeah so I was like man whenever I can I'm gonna you know just buy cars man this has been
06:42like I'm already having a bunch of fun this is incredible thank you are we riding in anything
06:47that I'm looking at no okay so you have a surprise it's okay if we check it out go for a ride let's do
06:53it this place is incredible man and so is this wow amazing all right now I know what we're looking
07:04at here 2021 Mustang GT 500 yeah debuting at the New York World's Fair in 1964 Mustang design was
07:16originally called the Cougar 22,000 were sold in the first day it was available over the past 60
07:23years the Mustang has appeared in over 3300 TV shows and movies including one of the most famous car
07:29chases of all time in the movie bullet the paint it's amazing I love the color change this thing is
07:37purple and then it's blue and then it's not and it's so metallic it's very well done now a car like
07:43this would come stock with about 750 horsepower yeah around there are we driving at 750 horsepower
07:50toil 1200 horsepower mm-hmm shit okay uh all right it's gonna be a fun ride yeah that's what's good
07:58about it is it drives how you want it to drive no kidding yes I mean even like if you know you beef
08:03the motor up that much mm-hmm you've upgraded the tires different wheels anything else other than engine
08:08mods I mean I just the supercharger and everything do you mind if we take a peek before we before we get in
08:13there man this is absolutely fantastic and the only thing about a wrap though is you can't change
08:20everything else right away so it's gonna look a little different you'll be able to tell what the
08:25color of the car was okay so underneath here this is the original color of the GT500 gotcha what a look to
08:33these things man they have done such a good job over the years with the Mustangs of making it just look
08:38correct in my mind they're a crowd pleaser to me when they're just standing still yeah I used to
08:43I love the I used to love the Fox body me too man the 5.0 oh dude you were driving it I drove it in
08:51fast and furious yeah yeah yeah well enough looking let's go is that all right yeah oh nice
09:08first tour was in 2015 yeah how much work did you need to do to get that first tour uh I mean I did
09:16I was working at you know Target FedEx Lowe's making 950 an hour I was doing videos like crazy you
09:25know I was posting three or four videos a day I was running my whole social media I didn't really have
09:30anybody helping me and and I was trying to write songs it was just the straight looking at numbers
09:38looking at comments talking to fans doing all this by myself I think that was what was so hard what I'm
09:44hearing is when I was starting out I was not just working one job I was working 20 jobs how do you feel
10:01you've grown since the start of all this 2015 I've definitely matured more what does that mean
10:09um my kids helped me a lot too it's actually not being there for yourself being there for other
10:15people and that's one thing that I do love about this job is I it's the people I get to help I got
10:21to buy my mom a house like before I got to buy her a car dude congratulations thank you that is
10:26speaking from someone that was the first first big purchase I made how did that feel for you it
10:32felt really good you know my mom was going through a hard thing I got to escape somehow uh my whole
10:36family was going through it and that's when I was like okay I can get you a house now I got her the
10:41house and then uh I helped my sister get a house which is crazy because I met her when I was 16
10:47uh yeah so my dad's been in prison since 96 and uh I was raised with my mom I didn't know my dad at
10:59all until I turned 16 uh he reached out in the mill um still in prison today but uh told me that I had
11:08another brother and two sisters and then turned 24 I had a show in Iowa found out I had another older
11:15brother from Iowa and now he's my DJ on uh on tour oh my god I heard you say like yo somehow I escaped
11:25what does that mean when you say that
11:28heard you say like yo somehow I escaped
11:38what does that mean when you say that a lot of my family go through depression and a lot of them
11:45escaped to like pills and things like that like and then like I got kicked out of my house when I was
11:5117 because somebody else was taking pills and then didn't wake up to take me to school uh and so I got
11:59pitched to fit and got kicked out of my house so things like that I could have just been like you know
12:05what screw it I'm just gonna take these pills with y'all and feel like what you are feeling right now
12:11which is nothing so when you say you escaped was getting kicked out of your house was that the
12:16turning point yeah I think that was when um I really really found who I was but there was a specific
12:25woman that basically took me under her wing after I got kicked out and really showed me you know
12:30got me a job where she was working which was wasn't much but it was Target got a job there I started
12:37learning how to manage my money I started you know I went to cricket bought a cell phone and I'd go to
12:43the the 200 dollar loan place next to it get a loan not spend that money but then pay that loan off just
12:49to build my credit a little bit like really helped me out um and turning into a man people don't realize
12:57how or just from my perspective people don't realize how important mentorship is yeah how are
13:03how are any of us supposed to know what to do especially as a young person where you you don't
13:09you don't even know what the hell's going on nobody gives you a handbook yeah what was the biggest
13:15takeaway you had from that experience uh I would just say that life's not easy you know I never really
13:24had a stable home growing up I moved probably I think I moved 15 schools I used to live in my
13:30Nana's basement with my mom and my little brother but I'm glad I got to struggle a little bit before
13:34I would say you've done more than a little bit of struggle to get where you're at yeah
13:39is there a favorite part of the performance for you my favorite thing is just being out in front of my
13:49fans tickets aren't cheap they travel so they got to pay for their travel they're spending hard
13:54money to come and see me so I think my favorite part is just putting on the best show that I can
13:58to give those fans a moment to forget what's going on in their their regular day life and I've had a lot
14:04of people say that my songs have saved them I like to sing those songs so they can hear them
14:07and used to be the studio was my favorite because I was definitely an introvert like no kidding
14:13and my wife's told me that I've gotten better I got picked on in high school you know I've been
14:17especially being from the south a lot of race thing was evolved so it was hard for me to let
14:23people in and I've brought it over with me to now being Kane Brown and should I trust this person
14:31should I allow them in and so that's always kind of been a cutoff thing for me how involved is your
14:37family with your music my wife was an artist as well we have a song called Thank God together and
14:43um she was a singer before we met and I was actually supposed to be in her music video why
14:47didn't that work out uh because my first show ever was on the same day as the music video oh man and so
14:54a year passed and then uh the guy we were working with brought her to my show uh he had me signed at
15:00the time I was like you got to come meet this kid so she came out and uh we didn't say a word to each
15:06other like I said I don't talk but I thought she was beautiful when she walked in uh everybody went to
15:11Topgolf I still didn't say a word to her and then I was headed back home on my tour bus and I found
15:16her Instagram and I told her to come to Nashville and I think she came down that week and then she
15:21we stayed together the rest of the time they say when you know you know yeah the name of this show
15:27is what drives you and what drives us now is 1200 horsepower it's a Ford GT 500 Mustang but what drives
15:37you well my 20 year old self it was you know looking out for me how do you so I never really
15:43had anybody helping me so now I that's my 20 year old self I'm like I'm gonna go out and get this on
15:47my own and then uh I know that feeling too bad I was in high school driving this crappy truck
15:52I had my friends driving all 2016 Denali that I was like you know what whenever I get my first record
15:58deal I'm gonna buy this truck from you when I got my first number one that's the first thing I did
16:02was when I bought that truck the truck yeah and now I have a family to look out for and that's what
16:09drives me in what way just to be able to support them you know I don't want them to I mean I want
16:17them to work because that builds character right but I don't want them to ever have to worry about
16:21anything I mean I want their grandkids grandkids to be fine that's actually that's extra special man
16:29we didn't get a chance to open this thing up but this is a wonderful ride and the reason I say
16:40that is because it's been a comfortable drive yeah if you want I'll hit it one time okay that's what
16:47the show's about man I will let you do what you do and trust the process
16:50I'm gonna commentate here because I can see rpms gear and mph which is fun right now it sounds like a
16:58beast wanting to get out of the cage oh man the townships are incredible
17:05and it goes all the way 7000 and still feels like man I still give you more
17:35yeah we still have three more gear fudge and mustard I'm very responsible by the way all two
17:44lanes no traffic in front of us nobody on the uh nobody on the incoming that was fantastic as we
17:48say in the race world we were in Mexico yes you're in an undisclosed location with no uh no close to speed
17:57let's do it that was incredible so what are we doing we can uh shoot basketball nice
18:17let's see your shot do we shoot yeah let's shoot some all right that's cool
18:25do we shoot yeah let's see your shot all right that's cool these are measured off for where
18:36Steph Curry shoes what the fuck you were close man there we go
18:49so the when it makes the sound of the net does that kept no forget we should stop this as soon
19:02as possible there it is
19:04that was uh no that's incredibly humbling thank you very much yeah thank you and that's why you
19:15get one of these you just shoot on them no no thanks man I'll stick to doing this being invisible
19:19I uh I can't thank you enough for today no thank you man it's such a blast thank you for your
19:26hospitality thanks for the ride and uh I'm gonna leave you where you belong all right man
19:33while Kane may be soft-spoken he expresses his wilder side through his car the gt500 is nothing like
19:51him it is fast loud and an attention grabber although Kane likes to spend time at home
19:57I had a blast seeing firsthand that he's a big fan of getting out on the open road and letting it fly
20:03welcome to a place that drives me my garage this is a 1989 jeep cj or wrangler
20:20the first vehicle I ever bought with my own money I take a flight with two army bags and 500 bucks in
20:27my pocket out to California get myself a job and make a little bit of money head down to Santa Monica
20:32Motors 2 see this thing hanging in the parking lot as you can see this thing ain't perfect it wears a lot
20:40of sun-beaten patina it's got some rust spots around the windshield this was a bit of a parking lot
20:47mistake in California jeep's moniker is they'll take you anywhere and they were right this car took
20:53me from a garage in Venice Beach to a WWE ring to red carpet to an interview to the silver screen to
21:01your television set now words don't even describe what this car means to me now let's do the fun stuff
21:08let's take this thing for a beat run it's not a performance car they said zero to 60 in 11 and a
21:20half seconds we're about to put that to the test let's go foot to the floor five 25 miles an hour
21:2912 50 miles an hour 25 seconds 60 miles an hour you can see I'm crying half of it is because the zero to
21:4260 time is so pathetic so enough of the stats let's get to the stories I love this jeep you've probably
21:50been asking yourself why is there a converse shoe here well when I finally started getting notoriety as
21:56the doctor of thugonomics one of my trademark things was to wear sneakers instead of wrestling
22:03boots just a way for me to walk down memory lane yet again in this car that is filled with so many
22:10memories this vehicle for over two and a half decades has been my journey and it's my heart and soul and I'll
22:20never part with it it fuels me it drives me so with that this is John Cena saying until next time remember always ask what drives you
22:50you
22:52you
22:53you
22:53you
