02:01I've seen the show a few days ago.
02:04I wanted to stop.
02:05I couldn't.
02:06I watched it the whole night, the whole series.
02:08Oh, no way.
02:09Okay, very cool.
02:10It's amazing.
02:11I can't believe you guys are sitting right in front of me.
02:13That's so sweet.
02:14I actually have a small gift for you.
02:15For both of you.
02:16Huh?
02:17Here you go.
02:18No way.
02:20Thank you so much.
02:21I like the wrapping.
02:22And it's beautiful.
02:24So it's a jewelry box.
02:27Oh, how beautiful the color of the velvet.
02:30That's gorgeous.
02:31Amazing.
02:32Thank you so much.
02:37Oh, my goodness.
02:38And the color, is it okay?
02:39Yes.
02:40Yes.
02:41Wow.
02:42You can switch if you want to.
02:43I doubt you want a picture.
02:44Yeah, I know.
02:45I'm okay.
02:46I like her.
02:47Okay.
02:48Actually, I'm not a TV host.
02:51I do TV host sometimes, but I'm a singer in Korea.
02:54Okay.
02:55And my English sucks.
02:57I taught myself.
02:58I never lived in the States.
02:59That's okay.
03:00I can guarantee you my Korean is worse.
03:02Same answer.
03:03That's what I said.
03:04Oh, wait.
03:05Yeah.
03:06Actually, I'm a singer.
03:07Oh, are you?
03:08Not a show host.
03:09Ah.
03:10And my English sucks, so.
03:11That's okay.
03:12My Korean sucks.
03:13That's fine.
03:14That's okay.
03:15My Korean sucks.
03:16Sorry.
03:17Okay.
03:18So, thank you very much.
03:20Actually, the name of this program is K-Foodie meets J-Foodie.
03:23So, it's a foodie show.
03:26What's your favorite food, then?
03:28I love pho.
03:29Pho?
03:30Vietnamese?
03:31Mm-hmm.
03:32I like any sort of spring roll.
03:33Spring roll?
03:34Yeah, just a spring roll.
03:35It's just fresh, especially during the summer.
03:37That's my favorite food.
03:38What about you?
03:39I literally eat everything.
03:41Do you like tofu?
03:44I love tofu, yes.
03:45Really?
03:46I love tofu.
03:47Really?
03:48Yeah.
03:49This place is called 황금 콩밭.
03:50It's a tofu place.
03:52Oh, wow.
04:02They're famous for making fresh tofu.
04:05Every morning, 100% Korean soybeans, Korean salt.
04:09It's really good for your health, and I heard that you're vegan.
04:12Yeah.
04:13So, that's why I picked this place.
04:14Please.
04:15Oh, thank you so much.
04:16That's very thoughtful.
04:17Okay.
04:18So, here's the menu, and this is the English menu for you.
04:24It seems that everything is.
04:26I trust you.
04:27I can't make a decision.
04:28I trust you.
04:29Yeah, I would be here for hours, so.
04:31What do you recommend?
04:33What's, like, go-to tofu?
04:34Yeah, they have a variety of menu choices.
04:37If it's soft, it's a sukkuri salad tofu.
04:41Okay.
04:42And I also want to recommend pan-fried tofu.
04:45That sounds good.
04:47Here's the cooked tofu and fried tofu.
04:50Yes.
04:51A little bit of tofu.
04:52And braised tofu.
04:55Do you like spicy food?
04:56Yes, I love spicy food.
04:57Okay.
04:58I have to cook some like chicken soup.
05:04Are you okay with chopsticks?
05:06Yes.
05:07Here you go.
05:08Here you go.
05:09I don't know how good I am, though.
05:11Pretty much had every meal since I've been here with chopsticks, though.
05:14You took it.
05:15But I've never learned how to use them.
05:16Really?
05:17Just one day I woke up, and I started guessing.
05:19Yeah.
05:20So, don't, don't judge the way that I do it.
05:23I think I try lose it, right?
05:24But know that I've done my best.
05:26Nobody will judge.
05:27Okay.
05:28It's called banchan.
05:29In Korea, when you order something...
05:31It's like...
05:32Side dishes.
05:33Side dishes.
05:34Yeah.
05:35And this is white kimchi.
05:36Love kimchi.
05:37I love kimchi.
05:38And this is white kimchi.
05:39Have you ever tried white kimchi?
05:40No, I don't think so.
05:41I have.
05:42Yeah, yeah.
05:43Basically, kimchi without red pepper.
05:45Yeah.
05:46So does that make it less spicy?
05:47It's not spicy at all.
05:48Right.
05:49Okay.
05:50Is that radish?
05:51This is actually 청포묵.
05:53Can I just...
05:55Can I just...
05:56Smell it?
05:57Mmm.
05:58Sesame oil?
05:59Yeah.
06:00Oh, that's nice.
06:01The sesame is taking over.
06:02Yeah, that's nice.
06:16Fantastic.
06:17Really?
06:18I wonder how...
06:19How it would be like to like...
06:21Open a show that's worldwide...
06:23Loved.
06:24And you have to tour everywhere for promotion.
06:27When did you come in?
06:28Uh...
06:29Two days ago?
06:30Two days ago.
06:31I don't know what time it is.
06:32I know.

06:34I don't know anything.
06:35Um...
06:36Yeah.
06:37Yeah, definitely.
06:38But still...
06:39We've been so excited to come.
06:40And it's so different from...
06:42Any culture that I've been exposed to.
06:44It's kind of my first impression of everything.
06:46Mm-hmm.
06:47So, despite the jet lag...
06:48Despite...
06:49You know...
06:50There was like...
06:51This really strong, biblical rain the other day...
06:53Coming down.
06:54And we still made sure we went to the flea market.
06:56Yeah, you have to do that.
06:57Yeah, because we have so little time here.
06:59Oh, okay.
07:00But it's been a real pleasure.
07:05That's so exciting to me.
07:06That's such a beautiful place.
07:07I know.
07:08I like the way it looks.
07:10He wanted to prove that...
07:12Actually, tofu can go with something western.
07:16Olive oil.
07:20Tomatoes.
07:24Oh, I'm so excited.
07:25That's so satisfying, isn't it?

09:27Appreciate it.
09:28You can use your spoon.
09:30I mean, no, I feel like I'm committed.
09:32The proper way.
09:33Yeah?
09:34Just don't watch the way.
09:35Yeah, don't watch it.
09:36It's okay. It's totally fine.
09:38Oh, look, what's over there?
09:41Yeah, there we go.
09:44Do I dip it in here?
09:45Yes.
09:47All right, I'm sorry.
09:48So this is a giant mouthful.
09:49Ready?
09:59Good?

10:36It's warm, so warm.
10:37that means it's warm not hot oh you're so warm-hearted your heart you're the
10:54food the the air whatever warm yeah I'm much better at texting you're gonna
11:05texting you can text I'm much better because I can actually see the words and
11:10see what I'm putting together speaking not so much that's amazing yeah did you
11:15study or just my grandparents yeah they lived in Busan for eight years my
11:22grandfather was a engineer so he came over after the Korean War yes and helped
11:29rebuild a lot of engineers came to Korea to help yeah Korea built yeah and my
11:35while they were here my uncle was born and then my aunt is also adopted here
11:41really born here my uncle was born here I didn't know that um my grandma would make
11:47us food all the time like oh she makes really good
11:51bulgogi oh my favorite is to biggie now we're talking I love to piggy the boogie
12:00dog boogie yeah that's a traditional Korean rice cake that's spicy like spicy
12:06rice cake it's really it's really nice yeah so I grew up eating eating all those
12:09foods and my my grandmother has like her whole house is just filled with
12:15traditional Korean furniture like these yeah like what you gave us a little
12:20jewelry boxes she has like them everywhere yeah so I've grown up with Korean
12:26culture so there's this world-famous k-pop idol called Seventeen she went to their
12:33concert and took a photo and posted on Instagram last time I was here I was here
12:38about two years ago Hoshi message me and was like oh if you're ever in Korea let me
12:44know and so I told him we were out here and he took me and my sister out to
12:49dinner oh and then the next night Dino also took me and my sister out to dinner as
12:54well oh we went back to the high buildings and met everybody and I yeah
13:00crashed the dance practice are these the ones you danced with no I danced with
13:05different ones the TXD two but two yeah they're lovely yeah I've met a few I've met
13:12they come from XO 17 let's see who's your favorite I was gonna ask the same
13:18question oh 17 17 who I love I love them all they've all been so they're so so
13:25kind they're so sweet ah I not because this is Netflix I really
13:31enjoy time watching Netflix by myself really yeah doing nothing like having food
13:36delivered let's talk about it I mean it's it's amazing the first show
13:41so season one was amazing but I think season two completely blew my mind it's
13:47amazing good story thank you good acting honestly the season is just kind of
13:53going further and deeper into the characters that we already know and love
13:57but also there's a lot there's a lot of new people um we killed a lot of people
14:01off so we have just a lot of really bizarre people and it kind of goes into
14:05what we were talking about never more was created as a safe haven for our children
14:11in it dies and it's all my fault I die because of you if you don't hurry you'll have nothing left to save
14:30or die trying
14:33well some people might know already but I understand that you participated as a
14:41producer did somebody suggest it to you or do you suggest it no someone had
14:46suggested it to me I it wasn't something that had naturally come up I remember I
14:51had talked to Tim Burton about it a little bit and he was saying that kind of some of
14:56the work the conversations that we're doing during the first season we're
14:59already quite producerial and I kind of was already felt filling that position so
15:04the second time it was kind of like just adding the title okay my role is just
15:09kind of overseeing things and doing it this time around that I was a voice for
15:14the other actors because you get to get in the middle you understand both sides I
15:18think more than anything my job as a producer was to make sure that everyone
15:22could be as creatively outrageous as they wanted and feel it's a safe and
15:28comfortable place to do that okay that's great yeah you're doing great thank
15:33you you're helping me a lot wait so this is your job on the side besides from
15:39singing I do almost everything I don't know why I started as a singer and I've been a
15:44radio DJ for seven years I have hosted TV shows and I have a YouTube channel I do a lot of
15:51things amazing what's your favorite job out of all of them I'm a singer where
15:57you always from when you were really young oh so now you're interviewing me yes
16:02okay no I started when I was 20 22 well I always want to sing maybe but I was
16:12grown up in a very conservative family so being a singer means being a entertainer
16:17my parents didn't like yes but I love to sing I wanted to sing and and here I am
16:27that's amazing it was a similar thing for me I would say almost when I first
16:32started talking about acting or wanting to act my parents kind of said something
16:37similar they had very normal jobs all of my siblings I'm one of six kids so they
16:42didn't really look at acting or you know doing theatrical stuff as real work I
16:48had told my parents about it and they laughed oh silly little kid and because
16:55they laughed you wanted yeah I'm about to make it my life's mission to prove you
17:01wrong I was so stubborn my whole career is out of spite
17:04actually it reminded me of what happened 25 years ago I told my parents I took this
17:11audition and I won and I told them that I might start a career as a singer you know
17:17absolutely and they was they're watching TV and they turned back you what singer I
17:23want to sing okay good for you they'd never believed yeah so I was like okay I'm gonna show
17:31you yeah yeah anything yeah you have to I started when I was really really young I was probably three
17:38or four three or four three or four you know when you're like a kid your mom puts you in like
17:43little commercials or whatever when I got a bit older I was probably seven or eight I just like
17:49oh this is what I want to do I envy people who realize what they really want to do at the early stage of
17:58their age okay so this is braised tofu it's a simmered in vegetable stock chili pepper paste
18:11oh thank you this might be a little spicy I love
18:26this will probably be my favorite because of the spice oh you'll like it you'll like that
18:36mmm
18:46it's the best one
18:50this is probably my favorite as well that's really nice yeah oh I'm glad you liked it the taste
19:08I'm really nice this is very common in Korea we eat it with rice we uh when we drink soju we drink we do
19:23you guys drink yeah I had I had she make last night really yeah chicken beer that's our soul food so nice
19:34it's even on the uh oxford dictionary really yeah it's posted so was it good oh it was delicious
19:42where was it oh I just I got at my hotel but it was just good I want to do you guys do the the
19:49Han River picnics and have to make I want to do that one day when I have time now let's take viewers
19:57questions okay Wednesday barely blinks is it train sorry it's a stupid question no I mean it kind of
20:14happened on accident you know Tim really liked when I stared through he liked when I lowered my chin and
20:18I stared so I did that and then I did a take on accident where I didn't blink mm-hmm because I was
20:24trying to be as intense as possible yes and make the other person as uncomfortable as possible and
20:29then I hadn't noticed it but Tim came up to me after a take and was like yeah that's great when
20:35you don't blink so I just stopped blinking but you don't think much either I think when I'm delivering
20:41a line I don't because I'm focused if I'm looking somebody in the eye in a scene I don't yeah you know
20:47she's better than me what if the person has a like a dry eye syndrome or something mean I do having
20:53trouble I do I have the driest eyes really yes it looks like I'm crying but it's just because I can't
21:00blink well have you seen these this photo it went viral in Korea oh that's cute these two are very
21:17famous Korean comedians and people talk say that you guys look alike we do that's amazing I can't speak
21:27for yours but for mine that's pretty spitting that's very accurate that's insane she looks more like
21:33Wednesday than I ever have she's gonna love it you have this title of being next generation horror queen
21:42oh is that okay I mean is that sometimes a burden it's not a burden I I'm very honored that anybody
21:52would say that for me horror has always been a home it's always been something that I was interested
21:56in you know as a teenager I watched a lot of horror films and really got into them and it's definitely
22:01one of my favorite genres if not my favorite so I think I have to do more horror projects to earn
22:06that title are you yeah make sense so you guys good friends of course how would you explain her in one
22:16word oh in one word oh god I didn't um well maybe I'll describe her as warm warm oh that's nice
22:31that's what I would say that's Emma she's happy you're so hard to describe I think she likes that
22:40answer can I just say that okay yeah what that's not one word it's all hyphenated okay yeah got it
22:47she's very hard to explain yes that means you're very attractive hmm but you've got a lot going for
22:56you thanks and you do too girl okay thank you so much for your time I love talking to you final few
23:03words if you've seen season two already thank you so much for watching we can't wait for you to watch
