00:00Hello my name, I'm Mr. Secretary for the White House Division.
00:02Thank you for coming down to support and coming up on a pick of mine, Greg Turner.
00:08We support you guys 100%.
00:10I'm from the PAS side, so I know the PAS brothers that support you guys as well.
00:15We've also got some guests here.
00:16We've got Arthur Warris, who's the Secretary of the South Case Labor Council.
00:19We've also supported him.
00:20He's got the NUA.
00:21We've got the same density as well.
00:24I'd just like to call her after glass and say a few words.
00:26It's going to be great.
00:28Well, thank you and thank you for the opportunity.
00:31It's always a pleasure to be here with workers on the South Coast, who are doing what you
00:36should be doing.
00:37Getting the best possible deal for yourselves and your families and for all workers on the
00:43South Coast.
00:44We've got to stick together in these tough times and we've got to make sure that workers
00:49don't end up being the ones paying for the high cost of living.
00:53That far, we all know.
00:55And up until this point, it would be a regular dispute, except that your bosses have decided
01:02that they want to use, apparently, the powers of the state as their personal police force.
01:11Now, I don't know who these roosters think that they are.
01:14But seriously, to be writing letters to workers in Uniontown who are doing nothing more than
01:21protected industrial action and saying, you don't show up for work, we're going to send
01:38emergency services involved, what are they going to do?
01:42Ring up the police force and the police chief and say, send the coppers over?
01:47I mean, really?
01:48You're not AWOL.
01:50You're on strike.
01:52That's the difference.
01:54You're not unaccounted for.
01:56You are doing what you said you're going to do, what you're entitled to do, and what
02:01you should be doing.
02:02And that is getting the best deal legally in a system that the bosses have agreed to themselves.
02:08That is why we're here to support you from the South Coast Labour Council.
02:13And we've just got to say to the bosses that not only are you not AWOL, you haven't been
02:18kidnapped by the union because you are the union.
02:21And what you're doing here is to say to the bosses that we're here.
02:26We're not hiding from anyone.
02:28We're not locking up the house and staying inside because we feel guilty.
02:32We are proud to be fighting for nothing more and nothing less than a decent day's pay
02:38and conditions.
02:40That is why the South Coast Labour Council and our affiliates are here to back you live.
02:44We're hoping that the boss will pull their heads in, because if they don't, we'll be
02:48calling on the Premier and the Police Commissioner to make it very clear to them that there is
02:53no private police force in New South Wales.
02:57They've got to fight their own battles.
02:58And if they can't do that, then maybe we should be knocking on their doors inside, checking
03:04on their welfare, making their OK too.
03:06So good on you.
03:07Stand strong and we'll stand with you.
