What is Intel's Panther Lake all about?
Transcript
00:00So let's just dive into a little bit about what Panther Lake is about.
00:02This is mobile architecture, so this isn't necessarily going to be going into desktop chips.
00:08Theoretically, it's for sort of like the ultra-mobile stuff, but I think we are going to see it in
00:12gaming laptops.
00:14I mean, ASUS, like you say, have shown off the Zephyrus Duo, which can have discrete graphics cards in there,
00:18so it's going to have big stuff in there.
00:20But what are the big takeaways from Panther Lake?
00:22It's the rarest of things these days.
00:24It was quite a gaming-focused announcement.
00:26I mean, it's essentially got a much larger iGPU tile on the 18A process.
00:32The GPU itself is still made by TSMC, but it's stuck on top of an 18A process chip.
00:37It's Intel's sort of baby at this point.
00:40And it's all about the ratios of the tiles to each other as to where you're getting performance.
00:44And this has got a big iGPU, which should mean that it's very good for gaming.
00:49And certainly in our testing so far, that seems to be proving out.
