00:00So the Lakers look like they're surging.
00:02Can they do anything in the Western Conference right now?
00:05They're starting to play better basketball,
00:08or do you think it's fool's gold right now?
00:10You know, I do think it's fool's gold.
00:12I think LeBron's really stepped up,
00:13but I think it's really hard for them with the injuries that they have right
00:16now to compete with some of the higher end teams there.
00:18I still don't think they're, you know,
00:20necessarily as tough as physical defensively to compete with some of those
00:23top teams too.
00:24And once it comes down to a seven game series, but yeah, I mean,
00:28you can never want to count out LeBron.
00:29They do have some talent to some of those guys come back,
00:31but it's going to be really tough for them, especially the early going.
00:34And I think there's a lot of things that could go wrong for this team,
00:37especially depending on what their first round matchup is.
00:39Cause some of those teams, the Western Conference,
00:41I think are really, really tough matchup for them.
00:44What do you make of JJ Redick as a coach,
00:46the job that he's done there with the Lakers?
00:50Give me your takeaway and what you think the job that he's done.
00:54You know, for the most part, I think it's good.
00:55I mean, what, what is being an NBA coach now, right?
00:58It's mostly managing personalities, especially for some of these teams.
01:01And I think as, you know, a former player coach,
01:03he knows how to relate to his players.
01:04He knows how to get the most out of those stars.
01:06So I think from that standpoint, you've got to love them.
01:09As far as his X's and O's goes, maybe not so much,
01:12but I really don't know if that's even, you know,
01:13a major part of what NBA coaching is about nowadays,
01:16but depending on what I've seen so far,
01:18I like what he brings to the team.
01:19And I think, you know, depending on how long he stays in the Lakers,
01:22I think he's going to be a long-term coach in the league.
01:24And I think he's going to be a guy that players want to play for.
01:28Real quick here, is Joel Embiid done in Philadelphia?
01:31Do you, do you think we've seen the best of Joel Embiid?
01:35Yeah. Yeah.
01:35I think we touched on this a few weeks ago as well.
01:37And I think it's sad to say,
01:38but I think we saw the best of him a few years ago.
01:41He's not, you know, he's never going to be able to play,
01:43you know, completely healthy.
01:44He's never going to have that hop that he used to that athleticism.
01:47Still a pretty good player.
01:48You know, when he's somewhat healthy, he can make a difference,
01:50but he's not your franchise guy that you can hang your hat on and expect on
01:55to carry you in a series.
01:56And he's, you know,
01:57it's too bad because at one point it looked like that Embiid-Joker rivalry
02:01was going to be, you know, one for the ages.
02:02But sadly, I don't think we'll ever see him at that peak again.
02:06Absolutely.
02:07The ball rimmed out in that Toronto Raptors series.
02:10We've never really seen Joel Embiid ever since then.
02:14Hey, 20 seconds.
02:15OKC's title to lose?
02:17I think so.
02:18Right now you're getting OKC versus the field.
02:21And I think the field is like plus 150 or something.
02:24So it's pretty crazy.
02:26But I think it is OKC's to lose as long as no one gets hurt.
02:29Crazy stat I saw the other day.
02:31If you take out a two-month period,
02:32there's a two-month period where they went 21-14.
02:35You take out that two-month period,
02:36and they went like something like 45-3 the rest of the season.
02:40So definitely the team to beat.
02:42And they have it all as long as they're healthy.
