Laura and Simon have been best friends since college. Which is usually the point where movies start handing out heartbreaking backstories. Here, it’s simpler and more annoying in a good way: they realize their bond isn’t just “platonisch” with a fancy subtitle.

Then the story hits its near-futuristic speed bump. A test matches one of them with their supposed soulmate. Suddenly it’s not only about feelings. It’s about whether you trust that algorithmic fate more than the person who’s known you forever, including your worst habits.

“All of You” is a romance built on the awkward truth everyone tries to dodge. Watch it if you like slow-burn tension that turns into real decisions, not speeches. It’s sweet, slightly sarcastic, and smart enough to know that love rarely comes with a clean instruction manual. Rotten Tomatoes and Metascore won’t call it perfect. The vibe still lands.

Laura und Simon sind seit dem College beste Freunde. Klingt nach harmloser Sitcom-DNA. Nur, dass bei beiden langsam auffällt: Ihre Freundschaft hat da irgendwie mehr „Unterton“ als „platonisch“. Und natürlich passiert das genau dann, wenn „Schicksal“ im Testmodus anklopft und einen von ihnen mit einer angeblichen Seelenverwandten matcht.

Der Film ist eine romantische Selbstprüfung mit Zuckerwatte und Bauchkribbeln. Wer auf sanfte Alltagsromantik steht, bekommt hier das klassische Kippmoment-Prinzip: Man will es nicht zugeben. Man tut es trotzdem. Und dann muss man entscheiden, ob man das Risiko für echte Nähe eingeht oder lieber bei „Freundschaft, aber mit Blicken“ bleibt. Nett, charmant, ein bisschen frech. (Und ja, das Timing ist komplett lächerlich. Genau deshalb funktioniert es.)
