00:03Welcome to Ms. Mojo, and today we're counting down our picks for the times when drag race contestants maximize their
00:10joint slay during a lip-sync for your life.
00:13For this list, we're focusing on wholesome moments of collaboration and synchronicity, not on the interactions that, while great, were
00:20more cutthroat.
00:40It was almost inevitable that the rambunctious TikTok twins of drag would have to lip-sync against each other at
00:48some point.
00:48Even Sugar and Spice knew that.
00:50They choreographed every second of their lip-sync to Pat Benatar's cover of You Better Run.
01:01Their cooperative lip-sync is rambunctious, goofy, and completely unserious.
01:06The judges act mystified by it, but it makes sense.
01:09Rather than try to outdo each other, they pull a total punk rock move that essentially forces RuPaul to make
01:15the decision for them.
01:16You better run, you better hide, you better hide, you better see it, we're my side.
01:25Oh my God!
01:27Number 9, Bob the Drag Queen, Chi-Chi Devane, Kim Chi, and Naomi Smalls.
01:32Season 8's top four finalists didn't let the competition keep them from becoming family.
01:37Real is what you feel, feelings aren't real.
01:41Put your money down, it's your best in the wheel.
01:44Going into the final lip-sync to RuPaul's The Realness, they approached their last performance together almost like they had
01:50formed a girl group.
01:51When the chorus hit, they all made sure to strike the same pose on the word house, raising their hands
01:56into a triangle over their heads like a roof.
02:00Drag is about pushing boundaries and pushing yourself.
02:03This is what I love doing and I just want to do this for the rest of my life.
02:06It feels so simple and playful.
02:08It's like best friends just having a last laugh before the end of the school year.
02:12The simplicity of it is also what makes it so charming when Kim Chi is still half a beat behind.
02:19Realness, my love is realness, the realness.
02:29Season 6 had some incredible lip-syncs.
02:32Laganja Estranja and Jocelyn Fox's synchronous split is still a huge gag.
02:43At this point in Season 6, Adore was an underdog and fan favorite, and Trinity was the resident lip-sync
02:50assassin.
02:50Throwing them in the bottom together was bound to be a great show.
02:53But rather than trying to outshine the other, the bottom two came together in a heated embrace.
03:07Performing Paula Abdul's animalistic and sexy 90s club track, Vibology,
03:11the two ended up in a sexy face-off that ended in some intimate body contact.
03:15Even RuPaul was feeling the heat.
03:17If a lip-sync ever earned a double shanté, it was this one.
03:21Ai, ai, ai, ai, ai.
03:26Go, Marla, go, Marla, go, go, Marla.
03:33Collaborating with Aja on a lip-sync is a terrible idea.
03:37Whatever you do, she can probably do it better.
03:39Kimora Black found that out pretty early in Season 9.
03:42I'm a hero!
03:48But Nina Bonina Brown doesn't get her due for embodying the meaning of songs.
03:52At the climax of the 90s house classic Finally,
03:55Aja and Nina both plant themselves in one spot and bend backward to pantomime Cece Peniston's joyous belting.
04:01Finally!
04:10Aja's holding herself up on platform boots and Nina is practically bending herself in half at the knees.
04:16Ultimately, Nina won the lip-sync.
04:18But it's one of those moments that transcends the competition and just becomes iconic.
04:22If you only knew the way I feel about you I just can't describe it Oh no no
04:31Number 6 Monet X Change and Shea Coulee
04:41Few queens are better live performers than these two former champions.
04:45All-Star 7 competitors Shea Coulee and Monet X Change
04:48faced off in a lip-sync for your legacy to the Kylie Minogue disco track Supernova.
05:02These two are both forces to be reckoned with where Koryo is concerned.
05:06Once they locked in, they started finding the same beats in the song.
05:10They storm downstage together once the chorus picks up.
05:12When the song hits the bridge and Shea and Monet seductively slide to the stage floor in perfect unison,
05:18you can hear the entire cast scream with excitement.
05:34It's so simple, but it feels like we're seeing their powers become supercharged.
05:39Number 5. Raja and Carmen Carrera
05:41The Heathers seemed to perform an entire three-act play during their Paula Abdul showdown.
05:46Knowing that Carmen Carrera is inevitably going to take off her clothes,
05:49Raja fires the first shot by doing a strip tease of her own.
05:53I've worked so hard from day one since I've been here and I would hate to go home.
05:57I had to muster up all the fierceness I could find within me and just go for it.
06:01The tension on display here is palpable.
06:04Carmen takes things to the next level, responding with even more nudity.
06:08Next thing we know, they are writhing and crawling on the floor in a performance of ecstasy
06:12that is one of the most explicit things ever done on the main stage.
06:18This whole thing is one step away from violating several broadcasting guidelines.
06:22Raja seals it with a kiss.
06:32Number 4. Ginger Minge and Mayhem Miller
06:42Lizzo's Phone is a perfect lip-sync song for queens who know how to bring the funny.
06:46Ginger Minge may not be the greatest dancer Drag Race has ever seen,
06:50but if there's one thing she can do, it's make fun of her competitors' technically superior dance skills.
07:05When Mayhem Miller breaks out that Diet Vogue dance,
07:09Ginger follows, immediately taking the wind out of her sails.
07:12Not to be outdone, Mayhem decides to play along.
07:15Soon, the two of them start chasing each other across the stage
07:18as the song builds to its hilarious punchline.
07:28Number 3. Alyssa Edwards and Tatiana
07:30There's a reason Drag Race fans still point to the Shut Up and Drive lip-sync
07:34as one of the show's very best.
07:36This is what happens when two lip-sync titans collide.
07:50Some great lip-syncs are defined by what the queens do when there are no lyrics.
07:55Alyssa Edwards and Tatiana took the wordless bridge of the Rihanna song
07:58as an opportunity to show off their impressive dance skills.
08:09They're like what would happen if two tornadoes struck RuPaul's main stage at the same time.
08:13That is nothing to say of the moment they hit the floor at the same time.
08:25Number 2. Evie Audley and Brooklyn Heights
08:27This is a case of competition-breeding innovation.
08:31Evie Audley and Brooklyn Heights are both front-runners on Season 11.
08:34Neither one is just going to lie down and give up.
08:37But they will lie down and get up again.
08:49Evie and Brooklyn are well-matched for flexibility and agility.
08:52Demi Lovato's Sorry Not Sorry becomes the perfect showcase for their gymnastics.
08:56About halfway through the lip-sync, they both end up on the ground,
09:00contorting themselves like they're made of jelly.
09:07They even approach handstands differently.
09:13While their instincts for the song are similar,
09:15it's also not a case of perfect synchronization
09:17because they both have such different styles.
09:29Number 1. Raven and Jujubee
09:32The very first All-Star season is maligned for some pretty valid reasons.
09:36However, its best lip-sync is also one of the franchise's most emotional.
09:51Season 2 sisters and friends Raven and Jujubee
09:54are forced to lip-sync for their lives,
09:56inevitably knocking one of them out of the competition completely.
09:59Robyn's melancholy dance hit Dancing On My Own
10:01provides the perfect soundtrack for this moment of truth.
10:14Instead of fighting it out, the two dance together,
10:17defying the meaning of the song
10:18and the whole concept of lip-syncing for your life.
10:20By the end, everyone is in tears.
10:29What's your favorite Drag Race lip-sync moment?
10:32Tell us in the comments.
