00:00A postal worker is shot dead on a highway.
00:11There was multiple gunshots to the front of Tony Mosby's postal truck.
00:16Oh, man.
00:17We had nothing, no suspect information, anything.
00:20And no indication that that victim was doing anything but his job
00:23when someone fired shots into his vehicle.
00:27Detectives zero in on potential suspects.
00:30I need you to be honest with me.
00:31I know that she's leaving a lot out.
00:33This is your life on the line.
00:35A mother's tough love breaks down a barrier.
00:38I don't raise you to be no liar.
00:39Tell them the truth.
00:41I'm sorry, brother.
00:43Are you a COVID killer?
00:45No, I'm not a killer.
00:46Investigators searching for answers in the interrogation room.
00:50I'm so sorry.
01:00Every suspect accused of a crime has the right to remain silent.
01:06Many agree to be interrogated anyway.
01:09But they can stop the interview at any moment,
01:12making it a race against time.
01:16Justice hangs in the balance.
01:18I need paramedics and police.
01:36I'm at 30 eastbound.
01:39I need somebody here real quick.
01:40What's going on there?
01:42Uh, someone has shot a driver.
01:45This is the Postal Service.
01:47There's a postal vehicle here.
01:48I don't know if he's still breathing,
01:50but there's a gunshot through the front windshield.
01:53Oh, man.
02:00The driver of a USPS box truck crashed into the guardrail.
02:05When officers arrive, they say that driver was already dead.
02:09We learned that one of our Motor Vehicle Service drivers
02:13was shot and killed while he was in the course of his duties on I-30.
02:17We were able to identify the victim as Mr. Tony Mosby.
02:24He had been with the post office about 14 years,
02:2958 years of age at the time.
02:31There was multiple gunshots to the front of Tony Mosby's postal truck.
02:38One of the rounds had gone through the windshield
02:41and struck him in the face.
02:43And that was the round that took his life.
03:02When a postal employee is murdered,
03:05we, as a federal agency, have federal jurisdiction.
03:09We take that very seriously, and we pull out all the stops.
03:13Uncle Tony was just a very hard worker.
03:18He was the glue, the backbone of the Mosby side of the family.
03:25He was a big teddy bear.
03:27A hardworking, very caring and lovable person.
03:33He was always working.
03:35That's one thing he loved doing was working.
03:37I definitely looked up to, you know, his worth ethic, his drive,
03:43and, you know, that ambition.
03:46He was really a great man.
03:48What the police was able to tell us was that, you know,
03:53Uncle Tony was just shot and killed,
03:55and that they don't know who did it.
03:58I was just in shock.
03:59I was definitely thinking about who could have done this to Tony
04:05because he never really bothered anybody.
04:09Right now, police have no witnesses,
04:11no surveillance video,
04:13no suspect in the death of this USPS truck driver,
04:16and no indication that that victim was doing anything but his job
04:19when someone fired shots into his vehicle.
04:21When I arrived at the scene,
04:34we had nothing, no suspect information, anything.
04:38One of the things that's very important
04:40is to establish a timeline,
04:42and we got to start putting the puzzle together
04:43to help lead us to the person that's responsible for this.
04:48We start canvassing the area
04:50and doing everything that we possibly could
04:53to try to find out if there were any surveillance video,
04:56anything around that could help us capture
04:58this incident on camera.
05:00There was a gas station that actually had video
05:04showing Mr. Mosby's vehicle,
05:06the truck that he was driving,
05:08right before it entered the interstate.
05:11That gave us a good idea
05:12of when he was getting on the interstate.
05:16Another critical piece was
05:19there was neighborhoods adjoining the interstate
05:21that had electric doorbell
05:23that, with video and audio,
05:26what appeared to be four shots.
05:33But we still didn't know
05:35who committed this horrible crime.
05:37It was a lot of pressure.
05:38The United States Postal Service
05:53is now offering $50,000
05:55as a reward for any information
05:57about a shooting that killed one of its employees.
06:00When $50,000 was placed forward,
06:03it made the world of difference in this case.
06:05Her relative worked for the Postal Service,
06:20and I think once they had learned
06:22Mr. Mosby had died,
06:25it was weighing on her.
06:26Today's date is February 21st, 2018.
06:32Time is 1148.
06:34Jessica, my name is Derek Chaney.
06:36I'm with the Dallas Police Department.
06:38And I'm Paul Ecker
06:39with the U.S. Postal Inspection Service.
06:41If interviewing and interrogating anyone,
06:44you have to make them comfortable.
06:46She was very nervous,
06:48you know, very scared,
06:49because she knew this murder
06:51has been on the news.
06:52She know information about it.
06:55We really appreciate you stepping up
06:57and doing the right thing
06:58and being here, okay?
06:59Okay.
06:59You're not under custody.
07:01Right.
07:01You're not in custody,
07:02and you're free to leave at any point,
07:03so all this is voluntary information
07:04that you're providing, yes?
07:05No one's threatened you
07:07or anything to that effect?
07:08Okay.
07:08We had dinner there.
07:19After we were done,
07:20his cousin, Donnie,
07:22actually called us
07:23to see if we wanted to go bowling
07:24or anything.
07:26We had to meet us
07:27outside the restaurant.
07:30Okay, and you said day.
07:31Who was our friend?
07:31Donnie is his cousin,
07:33and Chanel is the girlfriend.
07:36Do you know him by Donnie?
07:37Do you know about his last name?
07:38It's Farrell.
07:40Donnie Farrell?
07:41Mm-hmm.
07:42All right.
07:42Tell me what happened.
07:44We decided that we were going
07:46to go to a bar
07:47and shoot some pool.
07:50A lot of times,
07:50people are a little bit hesitant
07:52to come forward
07:53when it comes down
07:55to these investigations.
07:56They always have a saying,
07:58snitches get stitches.
08:00So we want to make sure
08:02that they can talk to us
08:04and come forward
08:05about everything.
08:07What happened?
08:08We then left
08:09and went to CJ's billard.
08:14We were there roughly
08:16until about 1.30.
08:18After that,
08:19we tried to go back
08:20to the hotel.
08:21Chanel was driving.
08:22Okay.
08:23Donnie was in the passenger seat.
08:25Okay.
08:25There was a U.S. postal truck
08:27in front of us.
08:29She was driving
08:30very close to this truck.
08:31She then swerved over
08:34to go around him.
08:35We passed up
08:36this U.S. postal truck.
08:39According to Donnie,
08:41the driver of that truck
08:44slipped us off.
08:46When I looked to the right,
08:47and the gun that Donnie had
08:49was sticking out
08:50to my side of the window.
08:52Okay.
08:53How did he position his body?
08:54He kind of leaned out
08:56a little bit
08:57to where his head
08:58and his right arm
08:59was sticking out
09:00of the window.
09:02I had heard it go off.
09:04How many shots
09:05did you hear?
09:06Roughly about three.
09:08And all three shots
09:09came from the gun
09:10that you saw
09:11Donnie's holding?
09:12Correct.
09:14Do you have your phone now?
09:15Yes.
09:15Can you show me
09:15a picture of him?
09:16I sure can.
09:17At that point,
09:18we have now identified
09:19a shooter.
09:21Don Farrell.
09:24Okay.
09:25Let's drive the gun.
09:26Pardon me.
09:27Looked like a revolver,
09:28but kind of like
09:29a newer revolver,
09:30not one of those.
09:30You know what color?
09:33Silver.
09:35And she said
09:36that gun was a revolver.
09:38And so now we have
09:39an idea
09:40if this projectile
09:41comes back to a gun
09:43that is a revolver.
09:45Now we could say
09:46that this is
09:47a possible bullet
09:48from the gun
09:49that was used
09:49to kill the victim.
09:51Putting all that together,
09:52we had enough
09:53to get a warrant.
10:13Wednesday evening,
10:14we had postal inspectors
10:16at the residence
10:18of Ms. Walker.
10:20And as they were
10:21out on surveillance,
10:23they saw Mr. Farrell
10:24exit the residence
10:26with a weapon
10:27in his hand.
10:29Mr. Farrell saw
10:30the agents
10:32and ran back
10:33in the house.
10:34And we then had
10:35a barricade situation.
10:38Dallas County Sheriff's Office
10:40sent their tactical team
10:42out to this residence
10:43in Hutchins, Texas
10:44and began to establish
10:46lines of communication.
10:48Ms. Walker
10:49and the rest
10:50of the family members
10:51were able to exit
10:51the residence.
10:53Mr. Farrell
10:53stayed behind.
10:54When I went up
11:13into the interview room
11:14with her,
11:15my main objective
11:16was to build a rapport
11:18with her.
11:25No problem.
11:27You, uh,
11:30are you going to get home?
11:30Mm-hmm.
11:32Well, I hope so.
11:34Her boyfriend
11:35was now barricaded
11:37inside that residence.
11:38I know there was
11:39some worry
11:40for her.
11:43But,
11:43you want to make sure
11:44that she understands
11:45when you're not
11:46truthful,
11:47it can draw some questions
11:49about
11:50your involvement
11:51as well.
11:53This will be
11:53straightforward with me,
11:54okay?
12:02The victim,
12:03Tony Mosby,
12:03was a U.S. postal worker
12:05and asked that she was
12:05a federal employee.
12:07That means
12:07if law enforcement
12:08can catch his killer,
12:09that person
12:10will likely face
12:11a murder charge
12:12in federal court.
12:13So,
12:42I'm working this case, and your name came up in my investigation.
12:49My initial approach to her was to let her know that I'm not going to lie to you.
12:54I'm going to tell you the truth.
12:56But now I need you to also be honest with me and tell me what happened.
13:01Like I told you before, when I told you out there, I'm looking at you as a witness, okay?
13:06But at the same time, I need you to be perfectly honest with me about everything.
13:10Now, I'm talking about start to finish.
13:14I'm not going to lie to you.
13:15I'm not going to feed you no fried ice cream.
13:17I'm going to be 100% with you, okay?
13:19So, will you be honest with me?
13:20Yes, sir.
13:21Okay.
13:23Let's go back a few days, okay?
13:26So, what happened on the 18th?
13:28It was just Sunday, right?
13:29Right.
13:30Sunday.
13:32Me and Donnie, we was at home.
13:35What is Donnie's name?
13:37Donnie Farrell, Jr.
13:38Okay.
13:39And who is he to you?
13:41My fiancee.
13:45He had texted his cousin and asked what they were doing.
13:48They said they probably want to go shoot poo or whatever.
13:51So, we found a pool hall that closed like at 2 and we was like, okay, we're just going to go there and shoot poo.
13:59What time did y'all leave the pool hall?
14:00I think it was about close to 2 or at 2.
14:06At this point, he's driving because I was too intoxicated to drive and I didn't want to wreck her, do nothing.
14:14So, I think we went home.
14:18Okay.
14:18Knowing the information that I have that I learned up until this point, I know that she's leaving a lot out.
14:28I'm talking to you as a witness, all right?
14:37Yes, sir.
14:38But at the same time, I know that you drove the whole night, okay?
14:44Mm-hmm.
14:45All right?
14:45I know that, okay?
14:47Yes, sir.
14:48I know that there's more to that highway incident.
14:53And I know you love your fiancé, okay?
14:56But I need you to be honest with me, okay?
14:59Yes, sir.
15:02When we left the pool hall, we was on a freeway.
15:05Mm-hmm.
15:08And I was drunk and I was driving.
15:11And he was on the passenger side and he was like, babe, can I let off?
15:19And I was like, no.
15:20I was like, no, Donnie, what the f*** did I tell you about doing stupid stuff like that?
15:26Mm-hmm.
15:26But he did it anyway.
15:29When you said let it off, did he shoot his gun or what?
15:33Yeah, he shot his gun.
15:37And what did he do?
15:38Show me what he did.
15:39Where is he sitting at?
15:41He's sitting in the passenger side.
15:43I'm him, okay?
15:44All right?
15:44Yeah.
15:45All right.
15:45So I'm him.
15:47Okay, so he's right here?
15:49So when I have her to go through the details, I just wanted her to actually give me that visual.
15:56You know, I'm talking to her, thinking back to that morning when I was out there on that scene,
16:01so that way I'll know how the shooting actually took place.
16:06You go ahead and be right here.
16:07And I'm going to sit right here.
16:08Okay.
16:08So, you're driving.
16:12You're on the highway.
16:13Yeah.
16:13Okay.
16:13Who's on the highway with you guys?
16:16What's in front of you?
16:17What's around you?
16:19I don't know what...
16:22Any other vehicles on the road with you?
16:25No, I really didn't see any...
16:27I don't really know if it was any cars on the freewheels on the freeway.
16:32Chanel?
16:32I really wasn't paying attention.
16:34Okay.
16:34Let's remember.
16:36Let's be honest with each other, okay?
16:37I am.
16:39You're driving.
16:40I'm driving.
16:41Okay.
16:42And you're him.
16:43How did he do it?
16:44I guess he just, you know, put it out the window.
16:47Did he use his right hand?
16:49Uh-huh.
16:49And he just...
16:50And I guess he just, like, shocked.
16:52You know?
16:53All right.
16:54Was there anybody around?
16:58Um...
16:58I don't...
17:00And Chanel?
17:01I know that she knows more.
17:04I'm still trying to get her to come forth with more information, more details, so that way
17:10I can match what I have at the scene.
17:14I really was intoxicating.
17:16I really don't know what all was said and how it was said.
17:19I can only tell you what I remember from that night and Saturday.
17:25My mom had asked me what happened.
17:27When did she ask you what happened?
17:29Um, when we were outside.
17:31Mm-hmm.
17:31And we were waiting, and we've been trying to call him to get him to come outside.
17:36All right.
17:36So that's when your mom's asking you to...
17:38What happened?
17:39Stuff like that?
17:40Yes, sir.
17:41Okay.
17:41All right.
17:42Give me one second, okay?
17:43Yes, sir.
17:53I explained it to her mother how serious this was.
18:01So I allowed her mother to go into the interview room.
18:07It was a risky move.
18:09I didn't want her to shut down on me.
18:10I'm going to tell you like this.
18:16I know you love this, dude.
18:20This man had lost his life.
18:24Listen to me.
18:27Tell them the truth.
18:28It's nothing you can do now.
18:56Donnie did what he did.
19:00That was messed up.
19:02You got to look at that family.
19:03If that was your story, you want somebody to tell you.
19:06Do you hear what I'm saying?
19:07Yes, ma'am.
19:08I done raised you to be no liar, for nobody, for no f***, and for no female.
19:15Do you hear what I'm saying?
19:16Yes, ma'am.
19:16Tell these officers everything.
19:19You have a freaking son you got to think about.
19:21Do you hear what I'm saying?
19:23You tell them every single thing, Beijing.
19:25Don't you hide nothing back.
19:27Because that man got kids, and he can't see his kids no more.
19:31If that was you, or your daddy, or your brother, you would want somebody to tell the truth.
19:36His family need closure.
19:37Do you hear what I'm saying?
19:39Tell them the truth.
19:41I'm sorry, ma'am.
19:42I'm good.
19:43I'm sorry.
19:44I'm Beijing.
19:45I'm good.
19:45I'm sorry.
19:46You tell them what happened.
19:48I'm sorry, ma'am.
19:49One thing I commend is mother here, even though she know how bad it is.
19:56She reminds me of the parenting that I grew up on, that old school parenting where, hey,
20:01no matter how bad it seems, I always tell the truth.
20:04Tell them the truth.
20:06And you tell them everything, word for word, what happened, how it was set up, what was done.
20:11Tell them the truth, Beijing.
20:13Do you hear what I'm saying?
20:14Yes.
20:15Don't lie.
20:16Do you hear me?
20:19Yes, ma'am.
20:20Are you ready?
20:21Yes.
20:22Okay.
20:31Once the mother came out, I just felt good that it was time to go back in there.
20:42Let's talk, okay?
20:45All right.
20:46I need to know, Senea, what happened?
21:03Okay.
21:03I was driving, and I think the only truck or the only vehicle I seen on the highway was
21:18the mail truck.
21:20I wasn't paying attention to if he was cutting me off or not or kept jumping in front of me.
21:26So Donnie was like, he was like, he keep cutting us off or whatever.
21:33And he said that he gave us the finger, but I didn't know, I didn't see it.
21:38And like I said, I didn't see him with the gun in his hand, but I heard it go off.
21:44And that's when I guess the truck had swerved over and hit the rail or something like that.
21:52Okay.
21:53And that's what, you know, that's what I seen or I experienced.
21:58The main reason why he wanted to fire out, because?
22:00Maybe because a guy caught up in front of us, but I don't know, because he was like,
22:04bacon, I let off one time.
22:05And, you know, that's when I had seen the truck swerve over and was behind me.
22:14And I guess it had hit the wall or something like that.
22:17And I'm not going to lie to you, like, I wasn't even in that state of mind of, you know,
22:22thinking that he would do something like that.
22:25Okay.
22:26I didn't know, because like I said, I was, I had, I think I had more drinks than them.
22:30And I'm just, I'm so sorry.
22:40Like, I don't, this is not him.
22:44This is not him.
22:47I don't, I never want to imagine him doing anything like that, because he's not the tough
22:52person he is.
22:57Became very emotional.
22:59I mean, this is his, his girlfriend.
23:01They're expecting a child together.
23:05It must have been hard to give up this information.
23:08How long y'all been together?
23:13We, we've been together since November.
23:15He proposed to me on Christmas Eve.
23:18He know about the possible baby on the way?
23:21Yes.
23:22I feel that mom's conversation with her really helped her understand the seriousness of this
23:30investigation.
23:30So that's why she gave me the information she, she's given me, and pretty much cooperated
23:36with what, everything that I already had received.
23:39But I, I just, I feel sorry for what happened to this man, because I wouldn't, I wouldn't want
23:47nothing to happen like this to my son, and I'm trying to do right and let you guys know.
23:52But you, you had no idea?
23:54No, sir, I didn't.
23:56I didn't.
23:57Because when he asked me, can he fire off, it just asked me, he, to me, that was asking
24:02me, can he just shoot his gun off, like, to try to show our guests, because his cousin
24:05and the cousin's girlfriend was in a, in a car with us.
24:08So that's how I took it as, but I still tell him no, because I don't like him doing that.
24:13And now this happened.
24:16Okay.
24:18All right.
24:19Give me one second, okay?
24:20Yes, sir.
24:22Do I believe she left out some important details?
24:25Yes, because she did not want to put her boyfriend in jail.
24:30But he knew where to push her to make her tell the truth.
24:38Investigators made an arrest last night.
24:41Donnie Farrell, the 25-year-old, was reportedly the passenger in a car that was driving erratically
24:48on I-30 near downtown Dallas early Monday morning.
24:50We already had an idea of what our challenges was.
25:08We know that he will deny he had any involvement, but also he didn't know what we knew already.
25:15It's all about that approach, so that way they'll know me, not just a guy with a gun and badge.
25:25Walking into that room, knowing that everything is at stake, it's game time.
25:31Law enforcement was able to track down the suspect.
25:41In the murder of Tony Mosby.
25:43Police arrested 25-year-old Donnie Farrell after a lengthy standoff.
25:49I was just so relieved, you know, he was finally off the street, and then it was just so angry.
25:56He didn't hurt your family.
25:59He wasn't, you know, breaking into your home.
26:03Why would you need to do something like this?
26:17Thank you, sonny.
26:18I'm here.
26:20I need to talk to you, okay?
26:23All right?
26:24You're all right, then.
26:26So, what's your name, man?
26:28Donnie Farrell.
26:29Donnie, okay.
26:33Where are you from?
26:34From California?
26:35Yeah.
26:36I was born.
26:36Yeah.
26:37I was born in West California, California.
26:39You from L.A.?
26:41Yeah, I grew up in L.A.
26:41Okay, cool.
26:43So, the biggest thing, when I walked into that room, I wanted to make him feel comfortable.
26:47So, my goal was to build a relationship with him, build a rapport with him.
26:52You know, what do you call him?
26:56You call him Chanel?
26:58Chanel.
26:59Okay.
26:59Oh, yeah.
27:00So, you love him?
27:00I love Adele.
27:02That's what I'm talking about.
27:04Love it or deal?
27:06All right?
27:06How long did it take you out to be born for the girl free?
27:11I'm going to say about a week and a half.
27:13It was kind of like love at first sight, you know.
27:15Oh, so when you saw her, you said, I ain't down.
27:18Yeah, I ain't down.
27:18I just knew that her presence was strong.
27:21I felt it, you know.
27:21Yeah.
27:22Yeah.
27:23You see yourself being a lot with her, right?
27:25Right.
27:26Yeah.
27:27Out to my understanding, too, it's a possibility that, you know, you guys may be expecting her.
27:33Right.
27:34You got a baby on the way?
27:36Possibility, right?
27:37Mm-hmm.
27:37And a four-year-old stepson.
27:39You got a four-year-old stepson.
27:40I felt like he was reserved, and I wanted to get across to him to let him know, even though you're arrested right now, I'm human.
27:50Let's talk, and we'll move forward.
27:58In this case, I know you were there, okay?
28:03I know you were there, and I know really what happened, but I want to help me understand, okay?
28:10What happened, Mark?
28:12Yeah, like I told you before, everybody make mistakes.
28:15No, you made plenty of mistakes.
28:16I made plenty of mistakes, all right?
28:19But at the end of the day, as men, okay, we own up to what we've done, right?
28:25And we move on, all right?
28:27All right, so on the way from the pool hall, where did y'all go?
28:34It's foggy.
28:35I don't remember stopping.
28:37After we got to a bar, I don't remember stopping.
28:39Okay.
28:39I can't remember stopping or where else.
28:42Okay, so...
28:43And I'm like really half asleep, you know?
28:44I'm like so faded.
28:47He kept using the term he was faded, meaning that he was under the influence.
28:53He was trying to make me believe that he was so drunk where he just don't remember anything.
28:59I knew that that wasn't truthful.
29:01So, when y'all on the highway, y'all headed back to the hotel, all right?
29:08All right.
29:09What happened?
29:12We headed back to the hotel?
29:14Mm-hmm.
29:14Did you get into it with anybody?
29:16You didn't?
29:17Okay.
29:18I'm going to be straight forward with you, man.
29:22Like I have been the whole time.
29:24I know there was more to this case.
29:29I didn't lie to you from the day when I came in.
29:32I hadn't been mean to you at any time.
29:34I'd been straight and respectful to you, right?
29:35You seem like you're straight forward.
29:37Yeah.
29:37I wanted him to continue to talk to me, so I wanted to continue to drill those things into him.
29:44Hey, don't lie to me.
29:46Tell me the truth.
29:48This is your life on the line.
29:53I've been working this case and got a lot of information.
29:56You see what I'm saying?
29:58And that's why I need you to be real honest with me, because I'd rather from meeting your own story than meeting how to tell your story.
30:05I know you're not a cold-blooded killer.
30:07All right.
30:08I know you're not.
30:11I know you're not a cold-blooded killer.
30:13Are you a cold-blooded killer?
30:15No, I'm not a killer.
30:16I know that there was an incident where an individual may have been cutting you guys off.
30:25I don't know if he made a gesture towards you or flipped you off or whatever, but at that point in time, you had a gun on you.
30:34Did you mean to kill me?
30:37I'm sad I killed you.
30:38So at this point, I believe that he wasn't taking me serious where he, I kept saying, I know, but he was at a point in time, okay, if you know, prove it.
30:51Did you mean to shoot at him?
30:53I'm sad I shot at him.
30:55I'm not going to play no games with you, you know what I'm saying?
30:57That's what I'm saying.
30:58I know, I know you, you, you, you, I do, I do.
31:02He had his arms folded, had a frown on his face.
31:07He's sizing me up, I'm sizing him up.
31:10I didn't think that he believed that, because I kept telling him, I know, I know that you shot.
31:16So I started digging a little deeper to give him some more information, to let him know, I know what happened.
31:25I've spoken with Chanel, all right?
31:28I've spoken with Jessica.
31:30I've spoken with these folks.
31:33You see what I'm saying?
31:34And you're the last one left.
31:49I know you fired at that guy.
31:51I know you fired at the vehicle that he was in, all right?
31:55You think we just showed up at your house and picked you out of all these millions of folks?
32:00You think we did that?
32:02Just out of random.
32:04We say, hey, we're going to go, we're going to mess with old Donnie Jr. today.
32:07You think we did that?
32:09No, don't.
32:10That ain't the way it works.
32:12You see what I'm saying?
32:14You're a young man, man.
32:15You got your whole life ahead of you, all right?
32:19But I need to know, what happened?
32:22Did he make you that angry?
32:24Or was it just an accident?
32:27I was fading.
32:28You was fading.
32:31I was being on real life.
32:34How did it?
32:35Yeah, the gun.
32:37How long you owned the gun?
32:40I ain't owned it that long.
32:41It was not even mine.
32:42It was given to me.
32:44It was given to you?
32:45Who gave it to you?
32:47Some guy.
32:48Really?
32:48How, uh, what kind of gun is it?
32:5138.
32:53At any moment, he could ask for his attorney.
32:56So I wanted to make sure to keep him talking to me.
32:59The only reason I had it, to be honest with you, to be honest, is I was working at 7.
33:02And that's why I was giving some, because I was working at 2.
33:05And for the past, Rob?
33:06I mean, that's understandable.
33:07I mean, you gotta protect yourself all the time.
33:10But we talking about this guy here.
33:13This man didn't deserve to die.
33:16You know what I mean?
33:17This man that you shot and killed.
33:21This man was at work.
33:23You hear me?
33:24Did you mean to do it?
33:29No, I didn't.
33:33Were you just trying to scare him?
33:34Or what was it?
33:35That was, like, my main intention.
33:38Was it just because you thought he was trying to cut you off?
33:40Or what was it?
33:41I mean, at the same time, I ain't trying to make no excuses.
33:44You know, I did what I did.
33:46Yeah.
33:47Cut a face of consequences.
33:49But I was intoxicated.
33:52Like I said, I was so faded.
33:53And, like, I was, my eyes were barely open.
33:56All right, give me one second.
33:58I can.
33:59There were times that Detective Walton would exit,
34:02come out to us, and we would just discuss things
34:05on the checklist, things that we wanted
34:07to make sure were answered.
34:09What we wanted to do was to get Mr. Farrell
34:14to the point of fully describing how he shot at Mr. Mosby.
34:19When you shot at him, did you see, did he see you?
34:43Because I know y'all were close.
34:44I mean, y'all had to be close to him.
34:45Y'all were close.
34:46He wasn't that close.
34:47He was behind us.
34:48Okay, so.
34:49I know that.
34:49So, we, we, okay.
34:51So, Chanel driving.
34:53You said, put your chair up for a second.
34:54We, we, I'm just trying to get a visual.
34:56Like, you know, it's my fiance.
34:58Yeah, okay.
34:58So, we driving.
34:59Put your chair up some more.
35:00Put your chair up for a second.
35:01So, okay, here.
35:01We right here.
35:02All right.
35:02So, I'm, Chanel driving.
35:04All right.
35:05So, what was that?
35:06We were asking, were y'all,
35:07were y'all getting on the ramp?
35:09What happened?
35:10I don't know.
35:10I was, I was, I was, I was, I don't know nothing
35:13about how we got on.
35:14Okay, okay, but you know how you shot.
35:16How, how did you shot?
35:16Which hand did you use to shoot?
35:18Um, my right.
35:19So, how, how did you, what happened?
35:21Like that.
35:22Huh?
35:22Like this.
35:23You did just like this?
35:24And you pulled the trigger?
35:25And you said you emptied it out?
35:26Yeah.
35:27Okay.
35:29When Detective Walton had him demonstrate how he shot,
35:34that can show his intent,
35:36because you have to aim exactly in the direction of that truck
35:40to hit that driver.
35:42I, I know you had to look back.
35:45I did not.
35:45I was so fainted, I just,
35:47I'm like, come on.
35:53It couldn't, it couldn't have been a way.
35:54Now that I'm thinking about it.
35:55I'm telling you the truth, I just wanted that.
35:56Because what I, what I, what I, what I, what I,
35:58the information I got, you, you saw what you were doing.
36:02You shooting like this.
36:03Be straight for me.
36:04I'm being straight for you.
36:05I'm like this.
36:07To, to shoot like this.
36:09Like this.
36:10All right.
36:11And, and to be that accurate.
36:14Done.
36:14Done.
36:16I'm telling you the truth.
36:18I started telling him, it's not believable.
36:21And it was a risky move,
36:23because at any moment he could ask for his attorney.
36:26Just saying, I'm, I'm asking, I'm asking these things for a reason.
36:29You know, if you're trying to protect your girl,
36:31just say, just be straight for old.
36:32And tell me.
36:33You know what I'm saying?
36:34If you feel like he dispensate your girl,
36:35I mean, you already told me you love that girl.
36:36Based on his demeanor,
36:57and based on the way he was acting inside the room,
37:00I knew that he was getting ready to be honest.
37:02You've come this far, don't hold back now.
37:06You did it just like this.
37:08Just like this.
37:09Just, just like this.
37:14This man made you mad by the way he was driving.
37:17You know what I'm saying?
37:18This man made you mad by the way he was driving.
37:21You have to look like this.
37:22No, like this.
37:24If I looked, I was looking in the rear view mirror,
37:25because he was behind us.
37:26I'd look in the side.
37:27So you would turn your head,
37:28just like this.
37:28Be straight forward with me, dude.
37:29Straight.
37:31I want to get a true and complete understanding,
37:34knowing that I have witnesses saying this,
37:37I have evidence that's saying this,
37:39but you're saying something else.
37:41That's a problem.
37:43I'm asking these things for a reason,
37:44because like I said,
37:45I've talked to a lot of people, all right?
37:48The way you said that you did this, all right?
37:52That's not going to be believable.
37:53You know these rooms are recorded.
37:55You know what I mean?
37:56You got people that's watching this video.
38:02I did like this.
38:04I did like this.
38:05You did what?
38:06Like what?
38:06I did like that.
38:09You looked and you saw it.
38:10You saw it was what you were shooting.
38:12Yeah, I did.
38:13You did?
38:15Yeah.
38:16You wasn't looking straight.
38:18No, I did like this.
38:21You did like that.
38:21Now we're at the point where I felt like he's giving me everything.
38:27And the main reason why you shot the gun and you look back like that is because of why?
38:34I was intoxicated and he tried to cut us off.
38:39Well, he did cut us off.
38:40So you pissed off about that?
38:42Yeah, he flipped us off.
38:44And he gave you the finger?
38:45And that pissed you off?
38:46Yeah.
38:47And that's why you shot?
38:48Yeah.
38:48So, like, where is this tape going to be shot at in court?
38:56No, it's about, yeah.
38:57I mean, this is all a part of the investigation.
39:01You see what I'm saying?
39:02Yeah, well, yeah, I did.
39:04I did like that.
39:06What?
39:07I'm going to be honest with you, boss.
39:09Mm-hmm.
39:09Had it been somebody else, I wouldn't even have told him.
39:12We set the foundation where he could talk and made him comfortable, and that way he felt
39:19as if he could talk to me.
39:27I'm going to be honest with you, you're going to be charged with murder tonight, tonight, okay?
39:31Well, let me ask you a spare minute, and then I, you tell me I'm young, I've got my whole
39:37life ahead of me.
39:38Mm-hmm.
39:38I made this mistake.
39:40Mm-hmm.
39:42How long you think they're going to get?
39:47You know, I don't know.
39:49I don't make those decisions.
39:51I'm not going to lie to you.
39:52What kind of murder is it?
39:54It's murder.
39:55It's murder?
39:55Yeah.
40:02He finally sank over in his chair, and you saw his shoulders drop and his head drop, and
40:08it seemed like the full acceptance was finally there.
40:12He realized this show was over, there wasn't any more denial, there wasn't any more covering
40:17it up.
40:17I honestly think that his ego got to bring it up.
40:17I honestly think that his ego got to bring it up.
40:19I honestly think that his ego got the best of him that night, that led up to the victim.
40:24I honestly think that his ego got the best of him that night, that led up to the victim's
40:37death.
40:38And once you pull that trigger, you have to take ownership, knowing that that bullet can
40:55come out that gun.
40:56And if it hits someone, it can kill somebody.
41:01Miss Walker, for her involvement in this, she was charged with a single count of accessory
41:06after the fact and received four years of federal probation.
41:10This type of crime is the perfect example of what a senseless murder would be defined
41:28as.
41:28Even if there was a traffic altercation in some way, no one deserves to be shot at.
41:38It seemed like this was a situation, just the wrong place and the wrong time, and that's
41:44what's so unfortunate in this case.
41:47When it comes down to homicide, it takes a special person mentally to do this job.
41:56You think about bringing some kind of closure to the family, but not saying they're going
42:00to get closure.
42:01Because you're talking about you're taking a piece of their heart away when their loved
42:05one had passed away.
42:07Do I feel as if justice was served?
42:12I don't.
42:14He only got 30 years in prison.
42:16He'll still get to walk free on this earth when my uncle couldn't anymore, because he
42:22took his life away.
42:26I was very appreciative of the officers and the detective of all the hard work and the
42:31jobs that they did.
42:33I was happy that person was finally off of the street.
42:38I miss Tony very much.
42:42There's really never not a time I'm not thinking about him, because, you know, I'm
42:46he was, he was really a great man.
42:49He was very well missed.
42:55And it just hurts, man.
