00:00Lebanon is not part of the ceasefire.
00:02That has been relayed to all parties involved in the ceasefire.
00:05As you know, Prime Minister Netanyahu put out a statement last night in support of the
00:09ceasefire, in support of the United States' efforts, and he's also assured the President
00:13they'll continue to be a helpful partner throughout the course of the next two weeks.
00:17Is it thought, though, that the President might like to see Lebanon included at a future
00:21date, given that it seems to be causing or potentially undermining the Iran ceasefire?
00:26Again, this will continue to be discussed, I am sure, between the President and Prime
00:31Minister Netanyahu, the United States and Israel, and all of the parties involved.
00:35But at this point in time, they're not included in the ceasefire deal.
00:38Jeff.
00:38Caroline, will the U.S. take part in talks with Iran and Islamabad on Friday?
00:44I can announce that the President is dispatching his negotiating team, led by the Vice President
00:50of the United States, J.D. Vance, Special Envoy Whitcoff, and Mr. Kushner to Islamabad for
00:55talks this weekend.
00:56The first round of those talks will take place on Saturday morning, local time, and we know
01:01we look forward to those in-person meetings.
01:03What role does the President see for the U.S.
01:05attacks of Israel?
01:06I mean, is there any concern that Netanyahu is trying to kill the ceasefire?
01:10The President spoke with Prime Minister Netanyahu last night, and in that private conversation,
01:15Prime Minister Netanyahu relayed exactly what he said to the world publicly, that he supports
01:19the President and Israel remains a key ally and partner to the United States.
01:23They've been a tremendous partner over the course of the past six weeks, and we thank
01:27them for their heroic efforts as well.
01:30And the President had that conversation last night, and that was relayed to the world publicly
01:35as well.
01:36Reagan, go ahead.
01:37On Iran, it's been reported that the ceasefire was struck after the involvement of two unlikely
01:42factors, J.D. Vance and China.
01:44What role did those parties play in striking a deal?
01:47Well, Vice President Vance has played a very significant and a key role in this since the
01:53very beginning.
01:53Of course, he's the President's right-hand man.
01:55He is the Vice President of the United States.
01:57He's been involved in all of these discussions, and as I just announced, he'll be leading this
02:02new phase of negotiations in Islamabad later this week.
02:06With respect to China, there were conversations that took place between top levels of our
02:12government and China's government.
02:14The President has great respect for President Xi and a great working relationship with him
02:20and with that country, and he looks forward to visiting China in just a few weeks.
02:26This is on the top of the priority list for the President and his negotiating team as they
02:31head into this next round of discussions.
02:32And as I said in my opener, that is a red line that the President is not going to back
02:37away from, and he's committed to ensuring that takes place.
02:41We hope it will be through diplomacy.
02:43But have they given any indication that they would turn it over?
02:45They have.
02:46They have.
02:46Yes.
03:02Yes.
03:05Yes.
03:15Yes.
03:20Yes.
03:20Yes.
03:20Yes.
03:20Yes.
