Trump says Iran ceasefire on 'life support' after rejecting Tehran's response

President Donald Trump said on Monday, that the ceasefire with Iran was "on life support," after dismissing Tehran's response to a US peace proposal as "stupid." Trump's swift rejection of Iran's response on Sunday has fueled concerns that the 10-week-old conflict will drag on and continue to paralyses shipping through the Strait of Hormuz. Days after Washington floated a proposal aimed at reopening negotiations, Iran on Sunday released a response focused on ending the war on all fronts, including Lebanon, where US ally Israel is fighting Iran-backed Hezbollah militants. The response had been swiftly rejected by Trump. In its response, Tehran also demanded compensation for war damage, emphasized its sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz, and called on the US to end its naval blockade, guarantee no further attacks, lift sanctions and remove a ban on Iranian oil sales.

00:00Very simple. Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon.
00:04He can't have it.
00:05And if they did have it, the Middle East would be gone,
00:07Israel would be gone, and then hit Europe probably next.
00:10We're doing the service to the world.
00:12If you can believe it, they didn't. How stupid.
00:16Are they stupid people? They didn't want to believe it.
00:19They think that, well, I'll get tired of this,
00:21or I'll get bored, or I'll have some pressure.
00:22But there's no pressure. There's no pressure at all.
00:25We're going to have a complete victory.
00:27We've already, in theory, had a complete victory
00:30from the military standpoint.
00:31The military, look, their navy is dead.
00:34They had 159 ships.
00:36Right now they have zero.
00:38Other than the little speedboats that go around
00:39that got taken out eight a day by us.
00:43They have no air force.
00:45They have no anti-aircraft.
00:47Iran told me very strongly,
00:49because they intend to give us the nuclear dust, as I call it.
00:53It's easier than talking about other terms,
00:55because it's a term everyone, but the nuclear dust,
00:58which is what we hit.
00:59They told me, number one, you're getting it,
01:02but you're going to have to take it out,
01:03because the site was so obliterated
01:06that there's only one or two countries in the world
01:09that could get it.
01:11It's so deep and got hit so hard
01:13that there's no way they have the equipment to move it.
01:16You and China are the only two countries in the world
01:20that could take it out.
01:21So we talked about it, and they said,
01:23you'll have to take it out,
01:24because we don't have the capability of doing it.
01:27Well, they did it two days ago.
01:29They didn't, okay?
01:31They did two days ago.
01:33They said, you're going to have to take it.
01:35We were going to go with them.
01:37But they changed their mind,
01:38because they didn't put it in the paper.
01:40So when they sent us this document
01:41that we waited four days for,
01:43that should have taken 10 minutes to do,
01:45it looked very simple.
01:47We get that.
01:48They guarantee no nuclear weapons
01:51for a very long period of time,
01:53and a couple of other minor things,
01:54but they just can't get there.
01:56So they agree with us,
01:57and then they take it back.
02:00We thought the Kurds were going to give us weapons,
02:02but the Kurds disappointed us.
02:04The Kurds take, take, take.
02:05They have a great reputation in Congress.
02:07Congress says, oh, they fight so hard.
02:09They fight hard when they get paid.
02:11So I'm very disappointed in the Kurds.
02:14But they were given.
02:16I said it wasn't going to work, by the way.
02:18I just have to say it.
02:20I disagreed with what they did.
02:22They gave it.
02:23I said, they'll never get there.
02:24And I was right.
02:25I like to be right.
02:26In this case, too bad.
02:28But we sent some guns with ammunition,
02:32and they were supposed to be delivered,
02:34but they kept it.
02:35I said, they're going to keep it.
02:36But what, what do I know?
02:38I've only been doing this a short period of time.
02:40What do I know?
02:41Go ahead.
02:41For the time being, the ceasefire remains in place.
02:44What?
02:45For the time being, the ceasefire remains in place.
02:47It's unbelievably weak, I would say.
02:51I would call it the weakest right now,
02:55after reading that piece of garbage they sent us.
02:57I didn't even finish reading it.
02:59They said, I'm not going to waste my time reading it.
03:01I would say it's one of the weakest right now.
03:04It's on life support.
03:06They understand.
03:06These are all medical people.
03:09Dr. Oz, life support is not a good thing.
03:11Do you agree?
03:12I prognostic.
03:13I would say the ceasefire is on massive life support,
03:16where the doctor walks in and says,
03:20Sir, your loved one has approximately a 1% chance of living.
03:25Yeah.
03:26Mr. President.
03:27If they had a great drug...
03:54If they had a great drug...
03:57Have a great drug orberry...
04:01Love 2.
04:01There is just a pirate book.
04:01We wonder if there...
04:01You can't believe her if anyone says ...
04:02You have to live their existed today.
