00:00It was another start of the same with David Pearson with his struggles, specifically as he was throwing glove side
00:05to those hitters for the Diamondbacks.
00:07They were really giving him trouble that we saw early, and that's what led not only to the first run
00:10of scoring the first inning by the Diamondbacks,
00:12but that breakout where the game was essentially over before it began there in the second inning, a four-run
00:17second for the Arizona Diamondbacks.
00:19He did allow six hits, five earned runs, two walks, six strikeouts, no home runs allowed on 85 pitches, but
00:25he's up to a six-year run this season.
00:27Not that it means too much this early in the year, but between David Pearson's very overwhelming underlying numbers throughout
00:32his career
00:33and knowing that now since pretty much the second half of last year, over his last 12 collective starts, David
00:40Pearson has an ERA just under eight.
00:42Remember, there was that span for a calendar year when he returned from that hip surgery in June of 2024.
00:47It was absolutely nails for the Mets, and it was nails for a calendar year, and while 2025 is in
00:52the past, it's in the rearview mirror,
00:53there are similarities from the lack of success for David in 2025 to what we are now seeing here in
00:582026.
