00:00Juan Soto to miss at least two weeks right calf strain that's the injury and to the IL Soto goes
00:06what did they see or I guess not see in the MRI of the calf to place him on IL.
00:13What we've been
00:13looking for is to see if this is going to declare itself like how bad is injury sometimes hey there's
00:19an injury there but maybe over 24 hours it'll get better likely after the MRI and after 24 hours of
00:25monitoring it didn't get much better he may have still had pain or trouble pushing off we're talking
00:31about a calf injury which the calf muscle allows you to push off it pushes your foot down so when
00:37you push your foot down you obviously need that for running for fielding and for hitting too to a
00:43certain extent as well so what they did is they wanted to see how he does clearly he had some
00:49pain discomfort or problems with fielding pitching running whatever it is and for that reason they've
00:55placed him on the IL. I imagine it's common for everybody not just professional athletes named
01:01Juan Soto so what advice and rehab recommendations would you give to one of your clients over at NYU
01:09Langone? We get you involved in therapy it involves stretching and appropriate strengthening at a proper
01:15pace that's not too fast but that gets you kind of going back and then you return to sport at
01:21a stepwise
01:21progression so when you're ready to go back you don't go back right away to a hundred hundred percent
01:26you kind of step it up you do drills and then you do sports and games and you get back
01:31to what you
01:31want to do which is our goal mom
