Surreal sight in Birmingham as the sky turns pink during 2026 snowstorm

While driving through Birmingham, Veer witnessed a rare and beautiful sight: the night sky was glowing with a deep pink and magenta light.

While many residents initially wondered if it was the Northern Lights, the "Cyberpunk" sky was actually caused by a mix of weather and city lights.

Intense pink LED grow lights at St. Andrew’s Stadium (home of Birmingham City Football Club) were pointed toward the pitch to help the grass recover.

This striking view occurred during the arrival of Storm Goretti on January 8, 2026.
