Surging fuel prices have seen a record number of Australians turning to electric vehicles. The latest figures show a 42% rise in EV sales since the war erupted. But experts say some of the households who need help the most are missing out.

00:44While sales of internal combustion engine fuel cars are down 11%.
00:48But EVs aren't an option for everyone.
00:51High petrol prices that predominantly affect people who are in the outer suburbs
