00:02As the price of fuel has soared, so too has the number of EVs in the capital.
00:07In 2026, one in four sales in the ACT were EVs.
00:14And last month that grew to one in three sales.
00:17So it represents what's happening across the country, but more advanced.
00:22So far this year, Canberrans have bought twice as many EVs compared to the national average.
00:27Twelve months ago, 11,000 EVs were registered in the ACT.
00:32That's now risen to almost 16,000.
00:35More than 1,000 of those were registered during the two months that followed the start of the Iran war.

00:43that's driving more models into the market, more models, more brands,
00:47and that's driving an increase in competition, certainly from where we were five years ago.

01:14Making them a natural fit for Canberra's cost and climate conscious drivers.
01:20People here have higher disposable incomes.
01:22I think there's also a stronger green focus in the ACT than what there is probably across the broader country.
01:28So it's not surprising that EVs are stronger in Canberra than elsewhere.
01:32EVs now make up 4.5% of vehicles registered in the capital.
01:37So I'm going to learn a pretty much better than it's going to be a living market tool.
01:37Now I'm going to try out a little bit more when I open the business as one of the companies
01:38So that's all.
01:38When I open up the name of God, I'm going to try out a little bit more without going to
01:39I'm going to try out a little bit harder.
