00:00Donald Trump says he claims Iranians want us to keep bombing because their lives are in greater danger with the
00:08country's leadership.
00:10Despite calls for Iranians to rise up against the leadership, the U.S. president acknowledged that it is very hard
00:18to protest given that people were being shot by their own military.
00:24So Donald Trump says Iranians want us to bomb them. That's his claim.
00:29Well, I think that's a bold and big statement, given that we're now, are we 53 days into, I think,
00:37to the lack of Internet in Iran?
00:39Nobody's had communication with people who are in Iran. And I think any nationality, the last thing they want is
00:44civilian risk.
00:45They don't want economic collapse. They definitely don't want infrastructure damage, which is what's currently happening as well.
00:49They want stability and normal life. Let's remember what we spoke about when this entire thing kicked off.
00:55What was the end game here? Was it regime change that was coming about or was it going to be
01:00something much deeper and much greater as well?
01:03Regime change of sort happened, but the Ayatollah's power just moved to his son instead, to Mushabal Khamenei instead.
01:10So now we've seen a change in that. It's not been the change that Trump wanted, that's for sure.
01:14And I think the everyday Iranian on the street did demand change.
01:18We'd seen a country that was on the brink of a social collapse right now, an economic collapse.
01:22But certainly to say somebody's supporting somebody else bombing their country is a wild statement.
01:28We have no social media distortion from the point of view of Iran, so we don't know what's going on
01:33on the ground there.
01:34We don't have propaganda that's been spread and speculated locally as well.
01:37So what we might be hearing from is the diaspora abroad of Iranians who are saying, yes, we want this
01:43to continue.
01:44We want to have our country back, which may be true. So, I mean, there's no evidence that Iranians broadly
01:49want the U.S. bombing.
01:51I mean, quite the opposite, I suppose, if you look at people on the ground.
01:54But what you will see, and we've seen these from the protests which took place, which is the initial spark
01:59for all of this in the first place.
02:00What we have seen is that there is a demand or a want for change among the Iranian public who
02:05are there and who are looking for a way out or for something different
02:08that they right now can't do on their own without being persecuted and, of course, without being executed.
02:14Let's take it back to where we were a couple of months ago when thousands of people faced the executioner's
02:18block because of protesting.
02:20So I think there's a sense of fear with Iranians. I don't think they can go out there and do
02:23this.
02:24And it's like we said, a regime change is something that requires a lot more effort.
02:27This is not going to be a war that changes the regime as it is right now unless that escalation
02:32happens.
02:32And I can't speak for Iranians that are on the ground there because no one's in communication with them.
02:38So I don't know if that necessarily is true. It might be just another Trumpism once again.
