00:07a worsening neuroimmune condition, according to the Wall Street Journal. She said she delayed
00:12tests and therapies since joining last August, but will now pursue treatment. Simo's leave comes
00:17as OpenAI prepares for a public debut and refocuses resources to catch up to Anthropic.
00:22Since joining OpenAI, Simo became its de facto leader, overseeing non-research operations,
00:27simplifying its structure, and cutting back projects, including the Sora video generation
00:31app. OpenAI reassigned commercial duties to Denise Dresser, while Brad Lightcap shifted to special
00:36projects focused on private equity partnerships and AI sales, reporting to Sam Altman. Marketing
00:42chief Kate Rauch is also stepping back for cancer recovery, with plans to return in a reduced role.
