This video explores how to observe and sketch human uniqueness more realistically by studying facial features, expressions, body language, and personality cues across different stages of one person’s life. Using my own photos from different ages, I examine which traits remain recognisable over time and how those consistencies contribute to individual identity.
The point is not that people look exactly the same forever, but that each person tends to carry a distinct continuity in facial structure, expression patterns, posture, and overall presence. That continuity is part of what makes someone believable and unique.
For artists and beginners learning to sketch humans, this matters because realistic diversity does not come from randomly changing features or exaggerating appearances. It comes from carefully observing how real people differ in subtle yet consistent ways. Studying those patterns can help create artwork that feels more authentic, individual, and true to life.
