00:00Previously on Heated Rivalry.
00:02And where's your boy, Rosanoff?
00:03My what?
00:04Scott Hunter is right next door.
00:06No, I mean, not your boy.
00:08He's always a Hollander and Rose.
00:10He's an asshole, right?
00:11Yeah, basically.
00:12The record for this event currently held by the New York Admiral's Scott Hunter.
00:16Glad to see Rosanoff. They're gonna hold my record for more than a minute.
00:20Let's shoot, Brooke.
00:21I thought it was Scott Hunter's year.
00:22Hey, can you believe Russia?
00:24Be nice, Bonnie.
00:25Hey, what did Ross say about it?
00:27I don't know.
00:27Listen to me, that's for sure.
00:29We're not like friends or anything.
00:32No worries. I'm sure someone else grabbed him.
00:34Seriously, this year, baby, we're coming for you. Trust me.
00:36You look great in silver, Bonnie. Don't even stress.
00:38Oh, good one.
00:52I want some ice cream, bad man.
00:55Do you not find it weird that we're in a beach town in Russia in February talking about getting ice
00:59cream?
00:59It's the Olympics, baby.
01:01So this should be, right?
01:04Hey, isn't that it?
01:06Oh, yeah.
01:08Hollander, what's up, motherfucker?
01:09I got that.
01:10Good boys.
01:12Alright, so tonight we can do the men's short form figure skating here.
01:14My buddy Joe is in that program.
01:15We're trained together.
01:17Would you guys be cool to do that?
01:19I'd love to show up for him.
01:20Oh, yeah, man.
01:21Show up for any dude who's that brave.
01:23What do you mean?
01:25Well, you assuming your buddy might be gay?
01:29I mean, fucking pray for a dude to show up to a place like this and be like,
01:33Hey, here's me.
01:35Russia is not safe for folks like that.
01:38Fucking balls of steel, man.
01:41Nope.
01:52Welcome back to Man in the Crease, your one-stop hockey shop.
01:55Today's first period topic is the inevitable one for the Admirals.
01:59What has happened to Scott Hunter?
02:0170 points last season.
02:03Yes, and we're six games into this season.
02:05A season he, he called need to win.
02:08Those are his words and he has zero, zero points.
02:13He's in a fog.
02:14His passes aren't connecting.
02:16He's barely skating.
02:17I can't imagine he's amazing in the room right now.
02:19And he's already been announced as Team USA captain at the Olympics in Russia.
03:04I am very sorry about that.
03:06It's really not a big deal.
03:08How are you?
03:08How may I help you?
03:09Uh, what's, uh, what's good?
03:12Um, just a bunch of very decent smoothies with deeply stupid names.
03:18Any allergies?
03:19No, no, no.
03:20I'm easy.
03:20Okay.
03:21Um, I mean the best one's the blueberry one, but...
03:24Oh, you mean Blue Moon over Brooklyn?
03:26Yeah.
03:26Yeah, that's it.
03:27But what?
03:29Oh, um, nothing.
03:31Just when I make it for myself in the morning, I add a banana.
03:35Oh, so you're kind of wild.
03:37I mean, it wouldn't be the first time somebody's told me that.
03:42Uh, yeah, that actually sounds pretty good.
03:44Yeah?
03:44Blueberry with a banana.
03:46I take that.
03:46If it's okay to order off-menu.
03:49Kip.
03:51I mean, technically it was my idea, so...
03:53I think we can get away with it this time.
04:18Oh, you weren't kidding.
04:20It's really hot.
04:21Oh, yeah.
04:21The banana makes a big difference, I think.
04:25I don't know.
04:27Guess it must.
04:32Here.
04:33Thanks.
04:36Um, that's way too much.
04:38It's for you.
04:39It's a great smoothie.
04:41Thanks again, Kip.
04:47A girl.
04:49Holy shit, are you...
04:54Was that Scott Hunter?
04:56Was that what?
04:58Scott Hunter, the hockey player.
05:01A girl.
05:03Clock winding down in the second period.
05:052-1 for Anaheim.
05:06The Admirals.
05:08And...
05:08This is what we're watching?
05:11We barely get to see you, because you're always working.
05:13But at least when we do, we get to watch, uh...
05:16What is this?
05:16Let me check my name.
05:17Hockey?
05:18Shut up, Sean.
05:19We should turn it off.
05:20No, no, no, please keep it on.
05:22Huh?
05:23Thank you, Kyle.
05:24Thank you, Kyle.
05:25Thank you, Kyle.
05:26You're welcome.
05:28Twice.
05:28He said tip.
05:30Like, he used your actual name twice.
05:32Maria, that is setting the bar so low.
05:34And it didn't even sound stupid when he said it.
05:36It almost sounded hot.
05:37Okay, that's not fair.
05:38Not hot.
05:39Just normal.
05:40Okay.
05:41I'm listening.
05:42Fuck both of you, okay?
05:43Kip is short for Christopher.
05:44It's not that weird.
05:45It's short for Christopher.
05:46And please don't tell me you used that name on your grad school application.
05:49Oh, my God.
05:50Why are we talking about my dumb name?
05:52He said it.
05:52He said it.
05:54Another round?
05:56Thank you, Kyle.
05:57Thank you, Kyle.
05:59Hunter to bomb.
06:00And you?
06:04Look, look, look.
06:05He's on the TV right now.
06:06Sean, look right now.
06:07Oh, my God.
06:08Okay.
06:09Balls to Hunter.
06:10Hunter's in front of the net.
06:11And he scores!
06:13A rare goal from Scott Hunter.
06:14Oh, wow.
06:15Right?
06:16He knows your name.
06:17Yeah.
06:19I mean, he's definitely not gay, but...
06:21Shut the fuck up.
06:21He literally pulled out.
06:22Jesus Christ!
06:26He scored a hat trick last night.
06:29Are you asking me what that means?
06:30Or are you just telling me something I already know?
06:32I just didn't realize that...
06:34We literally watched the game, Kip.
06:41Nice to see you again, Kip.
06:43Nice to see you again, uh...
06:45Scott.
06:47You're Scott Hunter, right?
06:48I am.
06:49This is awesome.
06:50I mean, wow, you had a night last night.
06:53Oh, did you watch?
06:53I did, yeah.
06:54I don't usually...
06:56Sorry, that sounds rude.
06:58I'm...
06:58No, I got it.
06:59Well, I watched the playoffs last year with my dad.
07:02It was amazing.
07:02He's a huge fan.
07:04But, yeah, I watched last night.
07:07Wow.
07:09Um...
07:09Yeah, when something goes right with my game, I try to repeat it,
07:12and then I try to perfect it.
07:15Okay.
07:16So, I'd love another smoothie, please.
07:20Anything you'd like different?
07:22Nothing at all.
07:27Okay, you really can't keep doing this.
07:29I really can.
07:30Uh, see you next game day, I hope.
07:38Dude.
07:39Girl.
07:39Was that?
07:40Yes, it fucking was.
07:41Oh.
07:49Sorry I'm late.
07:50No outside food or drink.
07:52Fuck off, Kyle.
07:56And I know the whole smoothie thing is dumb or whatever, but he just keeps saying my name and it's
08:01low-key making me crazy.
08:02Wait, you're still coming with me to that fundraiser though, right? Because I am not looking for a date.
08:06Yes.
08:07I told you I could come and it's in like, two months.
08:09Could you please listen to me?
08:11Kyle?
08:11Remote?
08:17Extra shrimp.
08:21New York with control of the parking lot.
08:24Okay.
08:24Now I'm fully listening.
08:25What are you doing?
08:26Just putting the game on.
08:27Elena.
08:27What?
08:28It's a sports bar.
08:29Let's watch sport.
08:31Am I being crazy?
08:33What does Maria say?
08:34She says he's flirting with me too.
08:35Well, she is much smarter than you.
08:37And probably this idiot.
08:40He's not an idiot.
08:43Jesus.
08:44Brain.
08:46When's his next home game?
08:49Come on.
08:49If you don't know when his next home game is, how are you going to plan your next shift?
08:52I don't plan my shifts.
08:53I just gobble up as many as I can.
08:56Saturday.
08:57They play at home again on Saturday.
08:59Are you working?
09:03Fuck.
09:04No.
09:05Fix that.
09:14Yeah.
09:15Hey.
09:16I didn't know if you...
09:21It's nice to see you.
09:25Blue Moon over Brooklyn, please.
09:27Extra banana.
09:35This one's on the house.
09:36Oh, come on.
09:37It's above my pay grade.
09:38Management heard you came in.
09:40And no, you may not tip me.
09:42And yes, I'm using proper grammar to prove to you that I'm being serious.
09:47Okay.
09:49Um...
09:50Uh, may I drink this here?
09:52Uh, I've got some emails to answer, so I thought...
09:54Yeah.
09:55You totally may.
09:56No, no.
09:57Oh, no.
09:58No, no...
10:01No.
10:01Come on, no.
10:02Come on, no...
10:04No, no.
10:07No, no.
10:09No.
10:29You're not worried about breaking your routine?
10:33No, I'm not actually that obsessive.
10:36Turns out I'm too lazy to be a serial killer.
10:39I took a quiz.
10:40I don't even think it could be a spree killer.
10:43What's a spree killer?
10:45Someone who kills multiple people at the same time.
10:48But isn't a serial killer as someone who kills multiple people, minimum three, but over a period of time, not
10:54all at once.
10:58How do you know that?
11:00I read a lot of murder books.
11:02And, uh, yeah, serial killers make me feel not obsessive, which is a relief.
11:11Well, I've read some things about athletes.
11:15Okay.
11:15Okay, before you say anything else, yes, I agree.
11:17And yes, there are at least two guys on my team that are possibly off the record.
11:22Yes, maybe.
11:23But no, not me.
11:25No, I swear.
11:26Barely had two concussions.
11:29Okay, so, what, no left sock, right sock, stop shaving, no sex, all that stuff?
11:34Oh, no, yeah, yeah, yeah, all of that.
11:36But that's, that's not CTE stuff, that's just science.
11:38Hmm.
11:38Science only really matters during the playoffs.
11:40Oh, okay, that's super comforting.
11:43Listen, I know you're more of an art guy, so it's not like I expect you to get the ins
11:46and outs of science.
11:48And just to be clear, I'm not complaining about the whole stop shaving thing.
11:51I mean, you all look like hot lumberjacks by the end of May.
12:06Um.
12:08Do you want to come to my game tonight?
12:11I have two seats, no one's taken them, so.
12:14I mean, if, if, if you want.
12:16Yeah, yeah, yeah.
12:18Yeah, yeah, I want.
12:19Um.
12:21Fuck, man, that's crazy, thank you.
12:23Super happy to do it.
12:26You sure?
12:29I'm sure.
12:34These are better than my company seats.
12:36I get it.
12:36These are really good seats.
12:37Well, yeah, they, they're hands.
12:42You know, we're first date, but I think I'm into this.
12:44What are you talking about?
12:46Well, you're with a girl and he's at work.
12:48Oh my God, shut up, Elena.
12:51Oh, wow.
12:53That wasn't, that wasn't to me.
12:55That was.
12:55He just nodded at you.
12:56No, there's no proof of that.
12:59Come on, boys.
13:05Wait back, for fuck's sake.
13:07Okay.
13:16Good job, I love you.
13:17I love you.
13:18I love you.
13:19I love you.
13:20Good job.
13:21I love you.
13:22Hey, Hunter.
13:24Too bad you can't play at home every night, right?
13:27It's better for you, huh?
13:29Go fuck yourself, Rosanoff.
13:31All right, it's more fun if you're there.
13:36Hey, thanks.
13:42Hope next time we play, you decide to show up.
13:47Cheap.
13:48True.
13:53Starting to sound like him.
13:55I'm sorry, what?
13:58You fucking heard me, Hollander.
14:01What the fuck is that supposed to mean?
14:02Well, there's something you really don't expect to see.
14:05Especially after the final whistle.
14:07And especially from Hollander and Hunter.
14:09A fittingly brutal end to yet another brutal road,
14:12privity out.
14:13A shame Hollander ever thought anybody
14:15can tap some grievances to air.
14:18I'm going to hit the sack.
14:19Yeah, there you go, handsome.
14:21All right, have a good day off.
14:22It's not a day off.
14:23I'm doing that catering thing tomorrow.
14:25Yeah, yeah, I just, you know,
14:26you get to sleep in for once.
14:28So, I'm just happy for you.
14:30That's all I'm meant.
14:31You know.
14:32I, uh, I'm proud of your hustle, kiddo.
14:35You know?
14:36You didn't get that scholarship anyway, so...
14:39Please, please, no jinxing me.
14:40No way, no way.
14:41Good night.
14:43Night, Dad.
14:43Love you.
14:44Love you, Dad.
14:50Motherfucker.
14:56What's happening to you, uh, what's your problem?
14:59I can't find my, my, my black suit
15:01and I have to leave so, so soon.
15:02Okay, well, it's with the dry cleaning in my closet,
15:05so why are you freaking out?
15:07Okay, hey, hey, are you okay?
15:09Yeah, I'm fine.
15:10I just, I need the money
15:11and I can't fuck this job up.
15:13Yes, and I get it,
15:15but you're not going to fuck it up
15:16because you're amazing
15:16and it's going to be great.
15:18I love you.
15:20Yeah, you too.
15:21Yes, buddy.
15:25I am so sorry.
15:27Save it.
15:36I'm so sorry about that.
15:38I'm really sorry.
15:39Oh, you're a mess.
15:41It's okay.
15:41It's not my only talks.
15:44New York used to have professional waiters.
15:46Now it's all just models
15:47who can't carry a tray.
15:49It's, uh, it's really okay.
15:50I'm so sorry again.
15:52Oh, bunny.
15:54Babe, I don't know what that was.
15:57I know, I'm a complete fuck-up.
15:59I'm sorry.
16:00You're not a complete fuck-up.
16:01This is not rocket science
16:02or whatever it is you're into.
16:04Art, Sean, please don't fire me.
16:06No one is firing you.
16:08Just calm down.
16:09Okay.
16:10And get your shit together, okay?
16:12Okay.
16:12I know you need the money, baby.
16:14Okay?
16:15Deep breath.
16:17Inhale.
16:18Exhale.
16:21You think you can handle quiche?
16:23They're dry.
16:27You think you can handle quiche?
16:30You think you can handle quiche?
16:33You think you can handle quiche?
16:33You think you can handle quiche?
16:34No, this is very good.
16:40Hey.
16:41Hey, I am so sorry about earlier.
16:44That woman is horrible,
16:45and I'm the one who should apologize.
16:46I was standing right in front of the kitchen door
16:48like an idiot.
16:49No, I'm the idiot.
16:50You're just a normal, hungry person
16:51at a fundraiser.
16:52And that woman did seem horrible.
16:54Full disclosure, I hate this food.
16:56Well, full disclosure, I hate serving it.
17:00I'm sorry, I have to...
17:02Do you like Mexican food?
17:04Yeah.
17:05Of course.
17:06I'm not a serial killer.
17:07Or even a spree killer.
17:09You sure?
17:10Yeah.
17:11Who has the time?
17:12Do you have the time to grab a bite with me
17:14like when this thing is over?
17:17Tonight?
17:18Yeah.
17:19With you?
17:21Uh, wow.
17:22Oh.
17:23Yeah.
17:23Yeah, okay.
17:24Yeah.
17:25Yeah.
17:26Because there's this great place
17:27right around the corner,
17:28and it's open late, and...
17:30Okay.
17:30Um, you don't mind waiting until I'm done?
17:32Not even a little.
17:55Hi.
18:04That's a long line.
18:06Is it worth it?
18:08Um...
18:10Probably not, right?
18:13We also don't actually have to do this.
18:16How would you feel about ordering in?
18:32Holy shit.
18:38Oh, my God.
18:59I mean, I...
19:00I figured you'd have a nice place,
19:03but this is insane.
19:08Do you want a full tour now, or, uh...
19:11Orr?
19:13Epic Orr.
19:21Can you stay?
19:23Yeah.
19:27Then stay, please.
19:49Did I wake you?
19:50Oh.
19:51Okay.
19:52I meant to surprise you,
19:53and I was gonna go out and get stuff,
19:54but I looked in your fridge,
19:55and you basically had all the ingredients.
19:57I know I shouldn't be snooping around,
19:59but I didn't have to do that much snooping.
20:01You were very organized.
20:03And I thought,
20:04since I'm not working today,
20:05but you still have your game,
20:06that you'd probably still want it.
20:20I should probably go.
20:25Hmm.
20:28Um, what if you didn't...
20:33go?
20:34Hmm?
20:35Like ever?
20:38Fuck.
20:39All that serial killer talk
20:40was you warning me, wasn't it?
20:47Um.
20:50I'm, um...
20:52I'm gonna say a bunch of things, okay?
20:55And I know I'm too intense.
20:57Everyone tells me that,
20:58but I just, I can't help it.
21:00Is it okay?
21:01It's gonna be too intense.
21:04Yeah.
21:05Yeah.
21:07Yeah, I, um...
21:10I never do this.
21:14Never brought anyone back here.
21:16Like, ever.
21:18Um.
21:19Yeah.
21:20My life is, uh, is complicated.
21:23Yeah.
21:24I, I get that.
21:29And I can't, um...
21:34Come out, like...
21:37Not, not right now.
21:40Too many people depend on me for too much,
21:42and it would just, it would fuck everything up.
21:46And so I just thought I would, um...
21:49I don't know.
21:50Wait, I guess.
21:53Yeah, wait till hockey was over,
21:56and maybe I could fade away better.
22:03But, uh, yeah.
22:08You, it's just, uh...
22:12I want you so bad.
22:16So bad.
22:19And I know that you barely know me,
22:20so why would you even consider something that's...
22:22that's probably fucked up?
22:24Like, I, I know I'm fucked up.
22:25I get it.
22:26I'm, I'm not pretending.
22:27I'm not.
22:28But I really, really like you.
22:33And I want you to stay.
22:36So I'm, I'm asking for what I want.
22:42I want you to be here when I get back from practice later.
22:46And I, uh, I want you to be here when I come home from my game tonight.
22:51I, um, I want you more than I've wanted anything in a long time.
23:01Is, uh, is that too much?
23:05You can say it if it is.
23:07Um, do you say something, though?
23:36I think I'd love to be here when you get back.
23:42And I don't think you're too lazy to be a serial killer.
23:47Really?
23:48Yeah, really.
23:49Yeah, you're definitely not lazy.
23:57Hey.
23:59How was practice?
24:08I don't know, like, uh, a few days ago?
24:10Um, yes, I sent in the applications.
24:13Yes, and even to be you.
24:14And yes, I know we hate Boston.
24:17With Elena, Dad, I'm staying with Elena.
24:20So I don't have to schlep to work.
24:22I get to sleep in an extra hour.
24:24Fuck, yes.
24:26Nothing, Dad, no, I'm just watching the game.
24:29Yes, with Elena.
24:30Oh, my God.
24:33Where has she even been?
24:35Oh, please, I saw you three days ago.
24:37Single since forever, overworked like she has two wicked steps.
24:40This is then she gets a man and vanishes.
24:43What a cliche.
24:44I don't have a man.
24:45Hey, kid.
24:46Keep the boyfriend on TV at all times, please, Kyle.
24:49Oh, my God, guys, he's a customer.
24:50He's not my boyfriend.
24:51Oh!
24:52I don't have a fucking boyfriend.
24:54Oh.
24:57Hiya.
25:04Morning, Scott.
25:05Morning, Kate.
25:06The usual, please.
25:08Yeah.
25:10Extra banana.
25:15I'm not sure what I'm going to do without these on my road trip.
25:17I'm pretty sure they have smoothies in other cities.
25:19I'm not like these, they don't.
25:24Do you really think this is a secret?
25:26What's a secret?
25:29Nothing's happening.
25:30He's just flirting with me or whatever.
25:32He's straight, I think.
25:34Girl.
25:43There's pasta salad in the fridge.
25:45Chicken, no feta.
25:47Oh, yeah?
25:47Where?
25:48For me.
25:49I made it.
25:53You dead?
25:57I'm not just a pretty face.
25:59Oh, but you're a very pretty face.
26:05What's that?
26:07It's an artist I love.
26:09He has a new show out.
26:09Oh, cool.
26:10Mm-hmm.
26:11I should buy some art.
26:13What?
26:14Hey, I'm not just a pretty face, either.
26:16No, no, no, no.
26:17You're also a very, very hot body.
26:34You don't have to do this.
26:37That's cool.
26:47This would look great in the living room.
26:49It would work.
26:50I don't know.
26:50Not on the fireplace wall, but on the way to the bedroom.
26:53I think it would...
26:57Sorry.
26:58Sorry, I just...
26:59It's okay.
27:01Maybe we should...
27:03Amazing, isn't it?
27:05Yeah, it's beautiful.
27:08So are you two just browsing or shopping to buy?
27:12Oh, I think we're...
27:13Yeah, I think we're just browsing right now.
27:15Yeah.
27:16Excuse me.
27:21Sorry, he's not feeling well.
27:22No problem.
27:35I'm, uh...
27:36I'm really sorry.
27:38I thought I could do that.
27:39I really thought I could.
27:41I wanted to.
27:42I just...
27:42It's okay.
27:44No, it's not.
27:47I know, it's not.
27:48Come here.
27:48Come here.
27:49Come here.
28:19I think I'm cursed.
28:21Cursed?
28:22Like, scary old lady cursed?
28:24I know.
28:25I know it's dumb, but I'm not the only one who's superstitious.
28:29Would you be jealous if I got my smoothies from some other guy?
28:33Maybe.
28:34Probably.
28:35Well, what if I filled you in on all the juicy details?
28:38Like, like how he blended them.
28:40Ooh, what if I actually was a scary old lady?
28:43Or what if you always kind of had one with you?
28:46What do you mean?
28:48Oh.
28:48Oh.
28:49Here.
28:53Okay.
28:55Okay, I know it's dumb.
28:57I know it's dumb.
28:58But I saw them at a bodega, and I thought they looked like your smoothie.
29:07I love them.
29:08Yeah?
29:08I love them so much.
29:29Fuck yes.
29:31That's two times. If you say it out loud, it's the curse broken. Hunter hasn't scored twice in an away
29:38game since last season.
29:45What?
29:46Say it out loud.
29:48Say what?
29:51Okay, it's not...
29:54It's... what?
29:57Okay, here's what I know.
29:59Shut up. You're in love with him.
30:02I'm not in love with him.
30:03You are.
30:07Have you at least told your dad?
30:11For how long now?
30:14A little over two months.
30:15Oh, baby.
30:17Elena, you can't tell. If anyone finds out that it's...
30:21That it's Scott?
30:23Obviously, I'm not going to tell anyone, but Kip.
30:25He can't come out right now, okay? He really wants to...
30:29It's amazing. He's amazing.
30:32And I've never been happier.
30:35Honestly.
30:39What's the plan, babe?
30:42I don't... I don't know.
30:45What does your dad think?
30:48That I'm fucking some married guy, probably.
30:52I kind of wish you were.
30:53Just don't say that. Please, just...
30:56Please be happy for me.
31:00I can't wait to see you in a tux tomorrow night.
31:03I am going to be super well behaved for you.
31:05I only care that you're handsome.
31:07You bitch.
31:11Scott's going to be there tomorrow night, too.
31:12Oh, I know.
31:13And he better be ready for me.
31:23I don't know.
31:48Hey, Dad.
31:49Oh, my God, you're not dead.
31:51No, I'm alive.
31:52Well, that is a relief. I didn't want to have to call them more.
31:55You know, I miss you.
31:56I miss you too, Dad.
31:58All right.
32:00Are you going to be making an appearance here at some point in the near future?
32:03Yes, I will.
32:05I'm going to come for dinner this week, I promise.
32:08Perfect.
32:09How's work?
32:10Well, work is fine. You know, Barry's being a pain in my ass, but...
32:13Well, Barry's an asshole.
32:15No, he hurt his foot, so at least it's something new this time.
32:18Yeah, well, Barry's always been an asshole.
32:21Who taught you to talk like that?
32:22You did. You taught me to talk like that.
32:25That sounds about right.
32:27And, um, nothing in the mail, right?
32:30Kip, if there was something in the mail, I would not have forgotten about it.
32:34I know, I know. I just figured I'd check.
32:37Okay. Don't worry about that.
32:39Okay.
32:40Don't think about that, okay?
32:42It's going to come when it comes.
32:43Look, I'm not going to keep you. I love you.
32:45All right. You too, Dad.
32:47You too, Dad. What?
32:49I love you too, Dad.
32:51There. I said it. Oh, my God.
32:53Sorry it's such a struggle.
32:54Oh, God.
32:54Okay, bye.
32:55Bye-bye.
33:01Oh, my God.
33:52I love this city.
33:54Stop it.
33:55Stop what?
33:59He's here.
34:00You need to chill out.
34:03My God.
34:05Can I have some of yours?
34:08Yeah.
34:08Thanks.
34:12Well, I like our playoff chances this year.
34:15I think we might even get some home ice advantage.
34:16Well, if this guy keeps playing the way he has been, maybe.
34:20What changed?
34:21You mean a nice girl or something?
34:24I think we just found an agreement with the team.
34:27Excuse me, gentlemen.
34:28I think I spotted an old friend.
34:30No, I'm just ribbing you, Scott.
34:32You know your parents would be so proud of you, right?
34:35Your mom especially.
34:37She would have just been thrilled.
34:40Thanks, Tom.
34:41Thanks.
34:41Excuse me.
34:45Hey.
34:47Okay?
34:47Yeah.
34:48Yeah.
34:49I should be used to it.
34:50Good morning.
34:56Chip, right?
34:59Christopher, when he's all dressed up.
35:01I'm Elena.
35:03Nice to meet you, Elena.
35:04I'm Scott.
35:04Pleasure, Scott.
35:06You look beautiful.
35:07You both do.
35:09Oh, sorry.
35:11Yeah, we both clean up pretty well.
35:18Okay, if I go get more drinks, do you promise to start talking, Christopher?
35:21Yes, of course.
35:23Great. Another beer, Scott?
35:24That'd be lovely, thank you.
35:31Are you enjoying the evening?
35:33I am.
35:35Are you?
35:36Looking forward to the after-party, honestly.
35:43Touched this perfectly.
35:45Thanks.
35:46And thanks. I mean, you didn't have to.
35:48I wanted to.
35:53Okay.
35:57Elena knows.
35:58And I'm sorry.
36:01Yeah, kind of got that.
36:03It's okay.
36:04Hey, she's, uh, she's discreet, right?
36:07Yeah, totally, totally.
36:08I just, I, she kind of figured it out, and I guess I had to tell someone.
36:13It's okay.
36:14Really?
36:15Okay.
36:20This is so weird.
36:22This is so weird.
36:22Yeah, we should leave early, as soon as I do my speech.
36:25Eh, not before you dance with me.
36:28Pardon?
36:28I want to dance.
36:30Elena's a killer.
36:32How could I possibly say no?
36:40So, what are your intentions with my kid?
36:43I'm serious.
36:44I'm serious.
36:45He's crazy about you.
36:46I'm crazy about him, too.
36:47I really am.
36:49He's also miserable.
36:52Are you miserable, too?
36:55No.
36:58Wait.
36:59What do you mean?
37:01Nobody wants to be kept a secret.
37:03He's not.
37:04He is.
37:06Eyes on me, handsome.
37:10I'm doing my best.
37:12I, I love him.
37:14I just can't do better right now.
37:16I, I've been honest.
37:18I know.
37:19And he's so in love with you that he'll put up with it.
37:25But it's killing him.
37:31I'm not saying any of this to be mean.
37:33I'm really not.
37:34And you seem great.
37:37But he's great, too.
37:42He deserves the best.
37:46He deserves sunshine.
37:59And so do you.
38:07It's my birthday on Sunday.
38:10I know.
38:11I already got the key to her lined up.
38:13Surf and turf.
38:15Because we're not choosing.
38:18You know, uh, the Kingfisher?
38:20It's the bar I told you about where I watch all your games?
38:23Mm-hmm.
38:25A couple of my friends are throwing me just like a little party there.
38:28It's not even really a party.
38:30It's just hanging out or whatever.
38:32Right.
38:33It's a, it's a gay bar, but it's not a club.
38:37It's just a bar.
38:38It's honestly more of a hockey bar now, thanks to me.
38:41It's cheap.
38:42And I was thinking that you could just come as my friend.
38:46As somebody who buys smoothies from me.
38:48I mean, Maria knows.
38:49My friend Sean knows.
38:52They know that you buy smoothies from me.
38:58I can't.
39:01I can't do that.
39:05I, I wish I could.
39:06I, I, I want to.
39:09I want to tell everyone.
39:12I want people to know that you're mine.
39:15That I love you.
39:17I love you too.
39:19Soon, maybe.
39:24I mean, in a few years.
39:29I know, I know how it sounds.
39:32But it, it'll go by quickly.
39:33I promise.
39:35And then we can be normal with, like, like other people.
39:42I heard what you said in your speech tonight.
39:47And I know that they're your family.
39:49And that you feel responsible for them.
39:52And I get that, Scott.
39:53I, I really, really get that.
39:57But, I, I have a family too.
40:01And I keep lying to them.
40:03And I don't want to.
40:06And I miss them.
40:08I miss my dad.
40:12Sorry.
40:12That's not what I meant.
40:14It's okay.
40:14I know what you meant.
40:19I'm gonna go home tonight.
40:23I need to.
40:54Thank you for coming.
40:56For those of you who've attended before, feel free to ignore my sob story and go straight to the bar.
41:02But for those of you who don't know it, here's the short version.
41:08My parents were both junior hockey coaches, and they were hit by a drunk driver when I was 12 years
41:15old.
41:17Mercifully for them, they died instantly.
41:20Mercifully for me, the St. Thomas scholarships existed.
41:27I didn't have anybody else to help me, had a lot of memories, a love of hockey, and a huge
41:35hole in my heart.
41:38St. Thomas filled it with hope, the hope of a new family.
41:43Things weren't always easy.
41:45You know, they never are for anybody.
41:47But in hockey, I found what I was missing.
41:53First at my high school, then later at college, and now here with the Admirals.
41:58And I never looked back, because I never had to.
42:04The family I craved, the family that I needed, that I still need today.
42:11Hockey gave it to me.
42:14And St. Thomas gave me hockey.
42:17So from the bottom of my heart, I want to thank you all for being here tonight.
42:22And for supporting this cause, because it's not just a scholarship.
42:25It's everything that comes with it.
42:28It's a whole world.
42:29A whole life.
42:34It's everything.
42:54Get up.
42:56Hey, Dad.
42:57Hey, buddy.
42:57The prodigal son returned home.
43:00Look, I got to send the mail here for a certain someone, and it's pretty heavy.
43:05I want to.
43:08Hey.
43:14Hey.
43:15My boy.
43:17Come here.
43:18What's up?
43:20Oh.
43:21Hey.
43:22I'm sorry.
43:23What?
43:24You got nothing to be sorry for, silly.
43:27Oh.
43:29Oh.
43:39Here's a pretty funny thing, and a bull buck-a-ride.
43:42Congrats, welcome.
43:43Love you, man.
43:44Oh.
43:46Oh.
43:47Oh.
43:48Oh.
43:48Oh.
43:49Oh.
43:53Oh.
43:56Oh.
43:57Oh.
43:58Oh.
44:00Oh.
44:15Hey.
44:16Good dress, man.
44:17It's a cool middle fuckin' game.
44:19Yeah.
44:20Yeah, totally.
44:23Oh.
44:25Oh.
