00:00Previously on 7 Little Johnstons.
00:02Which way do you want us to go?
00:04We're going to do it right here.
00:05Bryce talked to me a week before our family traveled to Pensacola, Florida.
00:09He had asked me if I would allow him to marry Elizabeth.
00:12I was a little nervous because, you know, it's like a once in a lifetime moment.
00:16And so I'm holding light and he asked me and I was like, yes, that's perfect.
00:20Just to know that she's going to be my wife is just a good feeling.
00:27So how soon do you want to get married?
00:30We have talked about wanting to do our wedding this year.
00:33We've been dating for six years.
00:35Why wait any longer?
00:37I don't have Poppy.
00:38We don't have Mamaw.
00:40Nana's not doing too great either.
00:43Nana was diagnosed with metastatic cancer.
00:45She is in a nursing home under hospice care.
00:49Layton, when do you want mom and daddy to get married?
00:51Right now.
00:55Hello.
00:56How's it going?
00:57I am going dress shopping for the first time today.
01:00Like this, but not the past waist.
01:03Next.
01:04Right, dress number two.
01:05That's not really your style.
01:06Yeah.
01:08Feeling a little discouraged because we are very little on time to find a dress.
01:14I'm just not sure it's the one.
01:16Within this week, I need to find one.
01:25I'm too young to grow up.
01:28So the fight is I don't want to show up.
01:32That's what you call the same.
01:33All right, I'm on a scale of 1 to 10.
01:35Excited, nervous?
01:36Um, I don't think I'm, like, that nervous.
01:39I feel like the sound is going to mess with you more than the actual need.
01:42It's going to be that.
01:43Oh, dang.
01:44I should have gotten my ear buds.
01:48It is Emma's 20th birthday, and she is getting her first tattoo, and actually not one, but two.
01:55Ashley is here visiting because we are all leaving for our Little People's Conference in San Diego in a few
02:01days.
02:01It's all about you today, your 20th birthday, and you're getting tattoos.
02:07Yep.
02:08Later for Emma's birthday, I have a special surprise for her, and she has no idea that it's coming.
02:14And now when he draws the stencil on you and stuff, and he shows you, be honest if you like
02:20the placement or the signs.
02:22Like, Emma, this is permanent.
02:24Yes, I hear that.
02:25So I've been wanting a tattoo for a while, and I've sent the artist some ideas, and I can't wait
02:31to see what he comes up with.
02:33Will you ever get a tattoo?
02:34Will I ever get a tattoo?
02:35No.
02:36No.
02:37If you were to get a tattoo, what would it be?
02:40I don't really have, like, a set tattoo idea right now, so I wouldn't get one.
02:45I'm not against it.
02:46I just don't know what tattoo I would get.
02:49I thought it'd be cool to, like, get, you know, Layton's face engraved, like, from her ultrasound or something.
02:55I love how you go to the arms, too, because I'm not ever putting anything on my arms.
03:00How about your butt cheek or something?
03:02No.
03:03Liz, would you and Bryce ever consider matching tattoos?
03:07Hell no.
03:08Why?
03:09Aunt Heidi.
03:10She lived and learned her lesson.
03:11She got a matching tattoo with her first husband.
03:15Oh, yeah?
03:16Yeah.
03:16Oh, my God.
03:17I mean, like, Dad and I did.
03:19We did them at the same time, but we didn't get, it's nowhere near matching.
03:23No, no, no.
03:23Years ago, Trent and I went and got tattoos.
03:28Actually, at the same place that Emma's going with the same tattoo artist.
03:32I got a branch with five leaves, which represent each one of my kids, two little birds, which represent Trent
03:40and I, and then I have our wedding date.
03:43I just have a tattoo that I drew up and I like.
03:51I guess you could say it hurt, but it was not unbearable, and I definitely took it better.
03:56I did fine.
04:00Do the other foot.
04:03Emma, don't be mad at me if I'll laugh if you pass it out.
04:06No.
04:06No, it's actually kind of scary.
04:08Because she did it to me once with an earring.
04:10With an earring.
04:11A few years ago, Emma went to get her ears pierced, everything went fine, but then one day, I'm trying
04:17to change the earring out, and she passes out on me.
04:24And Jonah, luckily, was coming around the corner, and he just got the back of her and just sat down
04:29with her.
04:31I am a little worried getting these tattoos, because I know Mom talked about, like, the pain on her foot,
04:37and she said it was pretty bad, so I was like, oh, gosh.
04:41So, I was a little nervous.
04:43Well, I mean, if you do pass out, you can just sleep through it.
04:46That's true.
04:56Hey, guys, let's start decorating for Emma's birthday.
05:00Bryce, we can do one over here.
05:02Today, we are celebrating Emma's 20th birthday, and while Emma is out getting her tattoos, all the guys are here
05:10setting up for a birthday celebration.
05:13Here, can you?
05:15This.
05:16Okay.
05:17Yeah, she's no longer a teenager.
05:19That's crazy.
05:20We should get a bottle of liquor and put a little tag on it that says, one more year.
05:24That'd be funny.
05:26It is official that my youngest daughter is no longer a teenager.
05:30That's a milestone for Emma, but it's also a milestone for Amber and I, and it's a celebration.
05:40There.
05:41Oh, we don't have streamers here, either.
05:42You didn't buy streamers?
05:44I think we did a pretty good job.
05:48I think we did a pretty good job.
05:49And let's look at the point across.
05:58Oh, my gosh.
05:59Hey.
06:01Welcome in.
06:02Today's the day.
06:04Yes, it is.
06:05Are you ready?
06:05Yeah.
06:06Let's do it.
06:08Emma's coming in today to get tattooed, and I tattooed her dad and having daughters myself,
06:13and I know how that father-daughter bond is.
06:15So I want to do something special.
06:19That's what you're getting, right?
06:23Oh, my God.
06:25No freaking way.
06:31I'm not getting my dad's face on me and the daddy's girl.
06:35That's not me.
06:38Interesting.
06:40That's quite the photo.
06:41It's horrific.
06:43His brows are flaked, too.
06:45Yeah.
06:45They're perfect.
06:46The glasses, the big nose, the no neck.
06:49It's a lot of cringey.
06:50You would have had to get it, like, on your back because of how big it was.
06:54It's, like, up here on my butt cheek.
06:57What are you getting worked on today?
06:59I was thinking the year that I came home, so 2010.
07:03Cute.
07:04And then...
07:05That was my idea.
07:06That was her idea, actually.
07:07Thank you.
07:08Having the year that I was adopted on me is very important because it's the year I came home,
07:13and I think it's definitely a big deal being a part of this family.
07:19And then my idea was the ladybug.
07:22What's the significance of the ladybug?
07:24The ladybug because of my name.
07:26My daughter's name is Leighton.
07:27But we call Leighton a lot of times Ladybug.
07:31But we spell it out with the first five of her letters.
07:36L-E-I-G-H-T-Y-bug.
07:38That's really sweet.
07:40I wanted to get a ladybug tattoo for Leighton because I love Leighton a lot.
07:46She will always be in my life.
07:48You could go a little bit smaller with this one if you wanted to.
07:52You thinking, yeah?
07:53Or does it look about right?
07:55I mean, when it comes to tattooing, little people, it's, you know, things can only be done so small.
08:01And so what, you know, would be a wrist tattoo for a regular-sized person, you know, you put it
08:08on a smaller arm and it's no longer a wrist tattoo.
08:11You know, it's half the forearm.
08:12So scaling at size and it's really important.
08:16So all I really need from you is you to be still.
08:19Okay.
08:20No sudden movements of jumping or snatching your arm.
08:22If you need me to stop for any reason, just let me know.
08:25Okay.
08:25You can just grit your teeth and bear it.
08:28We'll be done.
08:29Just to breathe.
08:30You got this.
08:30Just breathe.
08:31Yeah.
08:32Yeah, breathe.
08:32Just breathe.
08:35Emma has had no surgeries, especially being little.
08:39No orthosurgeries, brain surgeries, back surgeries, none of that.
08:42So we really are kind of in the mystery zone of, like, Emma when it comes to her pain tolerance.
08:48You ready?
08:51We'll see.
08:54Ugh.
08:54Don't pass out.
09:04You ready?
09:06Happy birthday.
09:08Very good.
09:09Today's my 20th birthday.
09:10I'm getting tattoos.
09:12I'm super nervous and I hope I survive.
09:24You good?
09:27I know Emma well enough that I knew she would sit there.
09:31If she starts something, she's going to finish it.
09:33But we got a little nervous just because she wasn't saying any words.
09:46Does it hurt?
09:48Yeah.
09:50I just wanted to make sure that we're feeling the pain.
09:54No, I do feel it.
09:55Okay.
09:56I thought it's going to hurt really bad, but then I was like, oh, it's not, like, too terrible.
10:01I could definitely feel the needle getting into my skin.
10:05Yeah, I think your face, you were just like.
10:16All right.
10:17Yeah.
10:19Dang, that was fast.
10:20That was fast.
10:21Oh, yeah.
10:22That looks good.
10:24That's cute.
10:24That looks great.
10:26The first tattoo, it wasn't too bad.
10:29But then when he did the ladybug, it was a little kind of painful.
10:35I feel like you're trying to poop.
10:40Don't move.
10:42Don't worry.
10:42I'll show this video to Layton when she's older.
10:45Oh, my gosh.
10:49You already thinking about your next one?
10:51Nope.
10:52Not right now.
10:52I still think she should get the smiley face on her wonky toe.
10:56She can handle it.
10:57Elizabeth wants you to do a smiley face on her wonky toe.
10:59A wonky toe.
11:01Yeah, we've convinced him.
11:03See how wrong that toe is?
11:06He's laughing.
11:08Hi, my name is Emma, and I have a wonky toe.
11:13Emma's number fourth toe on her right foot is shorter than her fifth toe.
11:17Significantly shorter.
11:18We call it a wonky toe.
11:19It's nothing to throw shame at, but it's just always funny because if she wants to start an
11:26argument or throw a jab at somebody, we always resort back to the wonky toe.
11:35You're doing good.
11:36Yeah.
11:37Yeah.
11:38Doing a lot better than I thought.
11:39All right.
11:41Oh, let's see.
11:43Let's see.
11:44Oh.
11:46Look, hold on.
11:49So pretty.
11:51I love this.
11:54Yeah, it is.
11:54So detailed.
11:56That is so cool.
11:57I am pretty proud of myself because I thought I would maybe pass out, but yeah.
12:03You should be proud.
12:04That's a lot.
12:05That's permanent for the rest of your life.
12:08Yep.
12:09Love it.
12:13I love both of the tattoos.
12:15The year I came home, 2010.
12:18And this ladybug for Layton, because we call her Ladybug, and yeah.
12:24Thank you.
12:24Thank you all very much.
12:25You guys have a good one.
12:25Thanks for coming in.
12:26Bye, guys.
12:26Bye, y'all.
12:26Chris is going to do a smiley face on your wonky toe.
12:29I'm good after this.
12:40I think they're almost here.
12:43Emma's turning 20, and I think the anticipation for us to finally see the tattoos that she got,
12:52it outweighed the actual surprise that we held for her.
12:56Well, here's the door open.
12:57Yeah.
12:58One, two.
12:59One, two, three.
13:01Happy birthday to you.
13:04Oh, my gosh.
13:05Happy birthday to you.
13:10Happy birthday, dear Emma.
13:13Suck.
13:14One more year.
13:15Happy birthday to you.
13:19Now you just put it back in the liquor cabinet.
13:22I thought the bottle was funny.
13:24That was funny.
13:27One more year.
13:28Cute.
13:29This is cute.
13:30Good job, guys.
13:31Well, Em, what do you have to show them?
13:34Oh.
13:34Oh, I know.
13:35Let's see.
13:35Oh, wow.
13:37That's a ladybug.
13:38They did that one upside down?
13:40No, they did not, Dad.
13:42Which one hurt the worst?
13:44This one.
13:46I don't like Emma's tattooed ideas.
13:48I think they're both very, like, sentimental and they make sense for Emma.
13:51So, yeah, I think they're both really good ideas.
13:54All right, everybody.
13:56When we adopted Emma, she was very friendly, very open.
14:00She was very outgoing, very spunky, never walked, always ran.
14:05Ran.
14:06Always.
14:06When she first arrived, like, her first week was no English.
14:10So, she had to relearn a language and navigate how school was at the age of five.
14:18Looking back at it now, she's accomplished a lot.
14:20The life that she's already paved, those are some massive milestones.
14:27Yes.
14:29To show how much Emma means to me, I got her a special gift.
14:32Oh, gosh.
14:34Uh-oh.
14:34A gift time.
14:36Okay.
14:36Before we get started, though.
14:38I've been thinking a lot about this moment, how to put into words of what you mean to me.
14:41It's not always easy to explain that kind of bond that grows not just from blood, but from love, loyalty,
14:47and shared life.
14:48Watching you become the absolute amazing aunt to our little girl, Layton.
14:53She will always know how amazing you are, and we will always know that you'd do anything for her.
14:57As I prepare to take this next step in life, marrying Bryce, it wouldn't feel right without you by my
15:04side.
15:04You've held my hand through so many chapters.
15:06I need you with me on this walk as well.
15:09So, open up your box.
15:13I'm going to have to hold it.
15:14Oh, it's a picture.
15:16Yeah.
15:16Aw.
15:17Aw.
15:18That is so cute.
15:21Yeah.
15:22Will you be my bridesmaid?
15:24Yes.
15:25I would love to.
15:27Love you.
15:28Love you.
15:29She was just so adamant.
15:30I just don't want to be her maid of honor, Liz.
15:32I just can't do this speech.
15:33I know you love me, but I just can't do it, Liz.
15:36I'm like, okay, I got it.
15:37I was waiting for Liz to ask me, but I didn't know that she was asking me today, and I'm
15:44so glad.
15:46I'm trying to find days to do it, to ask everybody to be my bridesmaid, since I asked Madison.
15:51Now that I've officially asked Emma to become my bridesmaid, I have two more ladies to ask, Carol and Dacey,
15:58and I get to see them next week in San Diego to do that.
16:02Look, mommy's right there.
16:04Aw.
16:04Aw.
16:05Aw.
16:06You gotta love it.
16:07Perfect.
16:17Hello.
16:18Welcome in.
16:20How are you?
16:21I am hopeful today.
16:23Okay.
16:23So when's the wedding?
16:25November 8th.
16:26Okay.
16:26Of this year.
16:27Real quick.
16:28Real soon.
16:28Real quick.
16:29Yeah.
16:30At the first shop, we had no luck, and today I am wedding dress shopping again.
16:34At another store with my mom and Emma, and we've got to be able to find a dress today, because
16:40our wedding is four months away, and pretty much it takes about three to four months to get a dress
16:46ordered, and then it takes an additional month to get a dress altered.
16:51So ultimately, it's now or never.
16:53So this is not your first time shopping for a dress.
16:56We went to one dress store.
16:58We failed.
17:00We didn't fail.
17:01We didn't find anything.
17:02We just didn't find anything.
17:03It was not our...
17:04It was too stressful, very overwhelming.
17:06I tried on seven different kinds of dresses at the last shop.
17:09Dress number one.
17:10I feel a little too princessy in this.
17:12Dress number two.
17:13No.
17:14Too much sparkle.
17:16I just feel like it's such a prom dress.
17:18I didn't realize how springy looking it would be.
17:22Unfortunately, none of them were the one.
17:24Are you into like blinky, glitzy, glammy, sequiny?
17:28A little.
17:28Some.
17:29I mean, we learned at the other wedding dress place.
17:32Just the plain...
17:34Made me look too plain.
17:36Was too plain.
17:37Okay.
17:37Way too plain.
17:38So why don't we browse around, and we can start with pulling three, and we'll see what you think from
17:43there.
17:44Copy.
17:44Sounds good.
17:46I am definitely hoping that Elizabeth finds a dress.
17:50I know there was a lot of disappointment the first go-around, so I would kind of like to turn
17:56that around.
17:57You're going to tell me no.
17:59I know you're going to say that.
18:00What about this?
18:01No.
18:02You should try that.
18:03I'm good.
18:04No, I'm not wasting my time.
18:05This is elegant.
18:07No, it's kind of plain.
18:08What about this?
18:11I'll try it on for you.
18:12So after going dress shopping the first time, I kind of have an idea of what I definitely don't want.
18:18Not a lot of sparkles, no big poofs, not a lot of boob.
18:22I wish it could be easier, but it's not.
18:25Now, as far as sizing, how do y'all go about for...
18:28We do order.
18:29We custom order.
18:29And I have to look past all the extra fabric.
18:32Yes.
18:33All right.
18:33Now, I can hold this, too, when we go up there.
18:36The only challenge I feel like we will face or are facing with Liz as a little person
18:42is just the extra material and holding all of the fabric out of the way so she can walk.
18:52Oh, my gosh.
18:55Oh, my gosh.
18:57I'm trying not to trip, so y'all don't laugh at me.
19:04I definitely think it works across the top, and I think I like the sleeves.
19:09The sleeves look cool.
19:09Okay, so dress one.
19:11I know.
19:11I didn't realize how tight it was going to be on the...
19:13It's very...
19:15But I do like the neckline.
19:16Yeah.
19:17No, I do like that with you.
19:19Mom and Emma, I just looked at their faces like, yeah, no, we don't like it.
19:23We're not going to spend any more time on it.
19:24Move on.
19:25Bring in another dress.
19:27Oh.
19:29That is sparkly.
19:31Holy.
19:34I've never seen you so sparkly.
19:39I do like the dress, the silhouette.
19:41I like the style of it.
19:43But I do know the sparkles are not your thing.
19:47Here we go again.
19:49I just don't like anything that I'm trying on, and let's go back to the drawing board.
19:59You would never let any of your children walk down in a dress like this.
20:04This dress was just a complete no.
20:06I did not feel like a bride.
20:09I felt like a marshmallow.
20:11Okay, I got to take a picture of this one.
20:12No, you don't.
20:13Yes, I do.
20:13Oh, yeah.
20:15She's not even in the top two.
20:18She's not even in my top ten.
20:20I was feeling pretty discouraged.
20:22There was still just not that feeling of, yep, this is the dress.
20:26This is the one.
20:27We're on crunch time because your wedding is coming up so soon.
20:31Yeah.
20:32Well, we got one more after this one.
20:34After trying on lots of dresses, I'm feeling lots of pressure.
20:38And I'm like, just try this last one on, and we'll see.
20:44I hope this is the one.
20:50I didn't realize how tight it was going to be on there.
20:53It's very tight.
20:55After trying on lots of dresses, I'm like, just try this last one on, and we'll see.
21:01I hope this is the one.
21:03Me too.
21:04I don't think she'll survive a second place and not find another dress.
21:10All right.
21:17Oh, oh, my gosh.
21:21I am beautiful, and something's gonna hold me down.
21:30I am beautiful, I am beautiful, I am beautiful.
21:37Yes.
21:38Yes.
21:43I love how this dress has the neckline that I was looking for.
21:46It has a little modesty to it.
21:48My boobs don't feel like they're on display.
21:50I definitely like how the skirt is not poofy.
21:53It's very me.
21:54Comparing it to all the other dresses, this is the only dress that I smiled in.
21:58And if you get a smile out of me in a dress, that's it.
22:02Love it.
22:03I love it.
22:04I love it a lot.
22:04I am beautiful.
22:07I feel like it complements your body.
22:10I think it has a little bit of sparkle, but it's not, like, too much.
22:16It's, like, perfect for your body.
22:17Yeah.
22:17It's got the lace, but it's not too much.
22:20Ain't nobody gonna beat this dress.
22:23So then I would say that you're saying, this is your dress.
22:32I think this is gonna be my dress.
22:36Yay!
22:39I was definitely shocked, and I was like, this is the one.
22:42Yeah, it was, that was 100% the dress.
22:46So how long are we thinking to order that dress?
22:5712 to 16 weeks.
22:59Well, that leaves us...
23:01A month of alterations.
23:02Not, yeah, barely a month.
23:05Better late than never.
23:06This timeline is extremely stressful.
23:08The dress will take 12 to 16 weeks to arrive,
23:12which would mean that we would get the dress somewhere around,
23:15you know, end of September, 1st of October.
23:18That would only leave us about a month to get all the alterations done
23:21since the wedding is November 8th.
23:24I am definitely worried for Liz.
23:27We'll definitely keep this one.
23:29Yeah.
23:29Yes.
23:30I'm overall trying to stay calm as far as the dress ordering
23:34and waiting for it to get here,
23:35but also a little on edge.
23:38It's like, have your fingers crossed and hope for the best.
23:41So, yeah, the pressure's on.
23:43Thank y'all, ladies.
23:44Thank you.
23:45Thank you.
23:47Hallelujah.
23:47No kidding.
23:48Yeah.
23:56So, babe.
23:57What?
23:58I have a little thing to show you.
24:00So, for us.
24:01After seeing the sketch of Trent's face
24:04that the tattoo artist came up with for Emma,
24:07I have come up with an idea to surprise Trent with tonight.
24:11If you're backing that ass up, then that ain't look...
24:14Oh, my God.
24:18What in the world?
24:20It's you.
24:21I see that.
24:22Isn't it cute?
24:23It's so creepy.
24:27This Big Daddy tattoo on Amber is a bit awkward.
24:32I mean, who wants to be in a moment of excitement or intimacy
24:37and you're sitting there just driving at home one night
24:39and you're looking at a picture of you?
24:43That's awful.
24:44Isn't that a tramp stamp or something like that,
24:46what they call it?
24:47No, it's not real.
24:48God, yes.
24:51So, how did wedding dress shopping go?
24:53We lucked out on the place that we found
24:57because the dress was beautiful.
25:01But it takes about four months to get a dress.
25:06We are sweating it, really,
25:10because I know for a fact our seamstress will need one month
25:15to make the alteration.
25:17So, we're hoping by some miracle
25:19that the dress will arrive a little bit less than four months.
25:25But, anyway, when we get back from San Diego,
25:28we really got to start with the wedding planning.
25:32Meet with caterers and, you know, the designer.
25:37Event planner.
25:38Event planner and stuff
25:39and get cracking on planning this wedding.
25:43So, speaking about San Diego,
25:45you know, obviously,
25:47Ashley's going with us.
25:48Allie will be coming here.
25:50Her mom will be bringing her
25:52and she's going to fly out with us.
25:53But while we're out in San Diego,
25:55plan to do some, you know, off-site stuff.
26:00A lot of us want to go to the zoo.
26:02Falconry.
26:04Alice is, like, all excited about it.
26:05Now that the family has grown up,
26:08we tackle conference a little bit different now.
26:11We still enjoy seeing all of our little people,
26:14friends, and catching up with them.
26:16But at the same time,
26:17we enjoy our family vacationing
26:20and exploring new cities every year.
26:23So, wedding planning.
26:25That's at the top of the list
26:26when we get back from San Diego.
26:27We got to go to San Diego
26:29and get back before we worry about everything else.
26:31Well, we pretty much worry about it all simultaneously.
26:35San Diego will be a lot of fun,
26:37but there's still a lot to do for the wedding
26:40in just four months.
26:41It will take some time,
26:43and time is what we don't have a lot of.
26:45I'm ready for bed.
26:47Go.
26:47Oh, God.
26:48You got the hiccups?
26:49Mm-hmm.
26:52My face is scruffy.
26:54Yes, it is.
27:05I will put hangers on.
27:08You put on the rack,
27:09because I can't reach,
27:10because I'm short.
27:12It's okay.
27:12You got short problems.
27:14You know what?
27:14You're short, too,
27:15so it's okay.
27:17So, Ashley's coming with us
27:19to San Diego this weekend,
27:20and right now,
27:21we're just getting our clothes together.
27:24So, it's going to do that,
27:25but that's too much denim.
27:26The Little People's Conference
27:28is, like, a gathering
27:29where everyone, like,
27:32socialize, talk.
27:34There's a dance every night.
27:36There's sports going on,
27:38and we just meet a lot of new people.
27:41Are we going to find a boy this year?
27:44Or what do you think?
27:46I don't really know.
27:47Are you, like,
27:48is there anybody that you're eyeing,
27:51or anybody that you've talked to?
27:53You know that's how me and Jonah met.
27:55What?
27:55We met at conference.
27:56Well, yeah, I know that.
27:58Ashley and Jonah,
28:00Alex and Allie,
28:02and mom and dad
28:02all met at
28:04the Little People's Conference.
28:06Word of advice
28:07is it'll happen when it happens,
28:10and it'll happen
28:11when you least expect it.
28:13I think Ashley
28:14and the rest of the family
28:16wants to try to find someone.
28:19For me,
28:20more than, like,
28:21I want to, like,
28:23look and go find someone.
28:25I mean,
28:25if there's someone at conference
28:27and they come up to me,
28:29it happens.
28:30But I'm definitely happy
28:33just to hang out with the family,
28:36make new friends,
28:37see everyone.
28:38Me and Jonah can find you somebody.
28:40No, not Jonah.
28:41Not Jonah?
28:41We don't need Jonah.
28:42Okay, just me?
28:43Okay.
28:43Because what if he's like,
28:44no, off the table?
28:47I would definitely not pick
28:48any of the boys
28:49as my wingman.
28:51I don't really need their help.
28:53If anybody needs help,
28:55I think I would be a good wingman.
28:56I would probably pick Jonah, really,
28:58because, I mean,
28:59he's the closest, like me,
29:00in the sense of
29:01he's going to weed right through,
29:04like, yeah.
29:05The worst wingman would be,
29:07I would have to go with my dad
29:08just because
29:09that would mean him
29:10picking somebody
29:11that resembles my own mom.
29:14How are you and Jonah?
29:16We're good, actually.
29:18Um, you know,
29:20things are good between us.
29:22Are you going to ever
29:23move to Georgia?
29:24Um, I don't know yet.
29:27I finished my undergrad
29:29in December.
29:30What's your plan after that?
29:32To find a teaching job.
29:34Find it here?
29:36Like, we've obviously
29:37talked about it.
29:38Yeah.
29:38I mean, we're six years in.
29:40Yeah.
29:40And so, obviously,
29:42in my opinion,
29:44if we've been dating this long,
29:47you know,
29:48we're pretty serious.
29:50Ashley and I
29:51are finishing up school,
29:53and then we will
29:54rehash and discuss,
29:56you know,
29:56what happens after that.
29:57So, I would say,
29:59safely,
29:59we're probably a year out
30:00from her coming down here.
30:02I got me a good one.
30:03You need you a good one.
30:05I have high hope.
30:07You do?
30:08I have a good feeling
30:08about this conference.
30:09I really do.
30:11What'd you see?
30:20What's all this, Mom?
30:21Making, like,
30:22a care package for Nana.
30:24Care package slash
30:25photo board.
30:27Okay.
30:27She's already had one like this.
30:29Yeah, so Dad's gonna paint it.
30:30The whole thing?
30:31Uh-huh.
30:33Today, we are making
30:34a care package for Nana
30:35before we leave town
30:37to our Little People's Conference.
30:39Books are now polished.
30:40Yes, because she,
30:43for some reason,
30:43is liking her nails painted
30:45since she's been at this place.
30:47When Mom was diagnosed
30:48with cancer
30:49several months back,
30:50she had a very large mass
30:52right between the shoulder blades.
30:55After other further scans,
30:57it showed that
30:58it was metastatic cancer,
31:00and it had spread
31:01to her thyroid,
31:02her breasts,
31:03and it had progressed both lungs,
31:05so it had progressed significantly.
31:09And at the hospital,
31:10Nana, you know,
31:11had said to all the doctors
31:13that she does not want to treat it.
31:16She's just gonna ride this thing out.
31:19You know,
31:19I think deep down,
31:21Mom doesn't want to
31:22go through the illnesses
31:24that come along with the treatments.
31:27She says,
31:28I'm gonna go out with dignity.
31:29All of the kids,
31:30they're old enough
31:31to understand what's going on,
31:32and they understand
31:33Nana's wishes
31:34to not treat the cancer.
31:37And, you know,
31:38I believe the entire family
31:40supports Nana's wishes,
31:41and we just,
31:43we hope and pray
31:44and wish for comfort for Nana.
31:46And that's all we can do.
31:49You know,
31:49obviously she's not walking.
31:51She's not ambulatory at all.
31:53So now that she's
31:54at the nursing home,
31:55her most prevalent symptom
31:57is very, very, very
31:59high pain levels.
32:01So they are able to
32:03manage her pain
32:04and keep her comfortable.
32:07In general,
32:08there are times
32:08when we visit
32:09and she's very tired
32:10and she's sleepy
32:11and she doesn't want to
32:13socialize very much.
32:15And then there's times
32:16when she's very snarky.
32:18You know,
32:18truthfully,
32:19we like to see that
32:20because we know that,
32:22you know,
32:23Nana's still there
32:24and she's comfortable.
32:27Something like that
32:28would look good.
32:30Yeah, we'll make it pretty.
32:33Oh, good, Laura.
32:34Y'all really gonna
32:35give her her scotch?
32:36In the middle?
32:36Yeah.
32:37Or this?
32:38And then there's some
32:39in the fridge.
32:40Look in the fridge.
32:42We'll take her
32:42some chicken livers.
32:43She loves chicken livers
32:44and beer.
32:45It wouldn't be
32:46a basket for Nana
32:48if it didn't have
32:48her favorite things,
32:49one being chicken livers
32:51and then the other one
32:52being cold beer
32:52and scotch.
32:53And this will be good
32:54for Nana's little
32:55friend at the nursing home.
32:58Oh, they can share.
32:59Yeah.
32:59Just pass the bottle around.
33:02Lop the bottle.
33:04I think Nana
33:05will like all the gifts
33:06that we got her.
33:07Y'all can go
33:08take this
33:09and then you guys
33:10and then you guys
33:10can FaceTime us.
33:11We got her a little bit
33:12of everything
33:12in her care package.
33:13I think she'll
33:14like everything.
33:15We need a syringe,
33:16one of those big syringes
33:17so I can just like
33:18draw some...
33:19Like a turkey baster?
33:20Yeah, so I can just
33:21draw some...
33:22Open up, Nana.
33:43This afternoon we are packing
33:45for Bryson Leighton's
33:46first conference.
33:49Hey, baby.
33:50You can sit in a chair
33:51with her.
33:51She's got to wake up.
33:54What's good, ladybug?
33:58Look.
33:59She gets to wear
34:00any dog treats.
34:02Are you sure everything's
34:04going to fit in one suitcase?
34:05I can always make anything
34:07fit in a suitcase.
34:08For seven days?
34:09Yep.
34:09When it comes to packing
34:10for any vacation,
34:12just having all of our clothes
34:13in one suitcase
34:14is easy,
34:16especially since we know
34:17that we have to bring
34:17a stroller and a car seat
34:19with us and her bed.
34:21So one suitcase
34:22instead of three suitcases
34:23with those three extra items
34:25that'd be way too much.
34:27Are you ready to get
34:28your California on?
34:30You'll be a California girl.
34:32But this is also
34:33your first convention
34:34so you get to kind of
34:35see a world like ours.
34:37Yeah.
34:38Normally these kind
34:38of conventions,
34:39they bring a lot
34:40of little people out
34:41between like 1,500
34:42to 2,000 little people
34:43that come.
34:44Good gosh.
34:45So like all around
34:46the world pretty much.
34:48By going to a
34:49little people's conference,
34:50you see all types
34:51of little people,
34:52you see all types
34:53of families.
34:54The parents may be
34:55little people
34:56and then their children
34:57are average size
34:57or vice versa.
34:59So I feel like
35:01it's just a good
35:02opportunity to have
35:03the exposure,
35:04just seeing how families
35:06can be made up
35:07so differently.
35:09I'm excited for
35:09Layton to meet
35:10like LP Tots.
35:12I love to see
35:13and the babies
35:14and the toddlers
35:15and all the little
35:17kids.
35:18As an average height
35:19person going
35:19to my first
35:20LPA convention,
35:23I definitely
35:24will be
35:24a little nervous
35:27because I've never
35:28been to anything
35:28like this before
35:29and I just don't
35:30want to feel
35:31left out.
35:32You know,
35:33with me being average
35:34and seeing all
35:34these little people,
35:35I know I got
35:36Elizabeth by my side.
35:37Just me being
35:38a tall person,
35:40I just didn't
35:41want to feel
35:41left out.
35:42We've got Layton.
35:45Where's Layton?
35:46There she is.
35:48Where's Layton?
35:49There she is.
35:51So I'm going to be
35:52asking Carol and
35:52Daisy to be
35:53my bridesmaids,
35:54but I really think
35:55they're going to be
35:55surprised that I'm
35:56doing it at the
35:57convention.
35:57Yeah.
35:58Carol and Daisy
35:59are two of my
35:59best friends.
36:01Carol I've known
36:02since I was a
36:03toddler and Daisy
36:04I met at the
36:05Orlando conference
36:06in 2018.
36:08We have all
36:09been so close.
36:10I'm absolutely
36:11thrilled to ask
36:12them to be my
36:12bridesmaids when I
36:13see them in San
36:14Diego.
36:15You know,
36:15this is my first
36:16time going to
36:16California,
36:17so being around
36:19there on the
36:19coast over there,
36:21I'm like,
36:21yeah,
36:21I got to bring
36:22my fishing rods.
36:23You're not going
36:23to bring your
36:24fishing rods.
36:24We can't bring
36:25them because we
36:26already have a lot
36:26of stuff we're
36:27carrying.
36:27I drew the line
36:28at fishing poles
36:29because he would
36:30be way too focused
36:31on them damn
36:31fishing poles and
36:32anything else that
36:33we'd have.
36:34And I didn't need
36:35extra stuff.
36:36No.
36:36I'm packing my
36:37fishing poles next
36:38time.
36:39Great.
36:40How do you think
36:41Lane's going to do
36:41on this trip?
36:43She's a fabulous
36:44traveler.
36:45We know that.
36:45She does great
36:46when we're traveling,
36:47but her sleeping on
36:48me now,
36:48since she's so long,
36:50I'm not going to be
36:51able to get down
36:52in the airplane seat
36:53and hold her like
36:54this because,
36:55oh my God,
36:56my back would be
36:56The last time we
36:58have flown together
36:59was in Puerto Rico
37:01and she was less
37:02than half the size.
37:03So now I'm not
37:04going to be able
37:05to hold her
37:05as easy.
37:07When she was younger,
37:08she wasn't really
37:09too bad on planes.
37:10She would really
37:11just sleep the whole
37:12time.
37:12I mean,
37:13she has one nap
37:13a day now
37:14and it's only
37:14a couple hours.
37:15So she's probably
37:16going to be awake
37:17most of the time
37:17on the plane.
37:19So I'm sure
37:20me and Elizabeth
37:20are going to try
37:21our best to try
37:22to entertain her
37:23the whole flight
37:24to keep her happy.
37:26All right.
37:28So we are ready
37:28for the morning.
37:31I know it.
37:43Oh, here we go.
37:47I can't see him.
37:48Okay, I can't see you.
37:50Em?
37:50Wait, there you go.
37:51Now I can see you.
37:52I can barely see you.
37:54Tonight,
37:54Dad and I
37:55are visiting Nana
37:56at her nursing home
37:57and we're going
37:58to drop her
37:59care package off
38:00before we leave
38:01for San Diego.
38:05Yeah,
38:06Emma's connection
38:06is unstable.
38:07So where Nana's
38:09nursing home is,
38:10there's not really
38:10any good cellular data.
38:12So there's just
38:13a lot of the
38:13technical difficulties
38:14involved.
38:15Is it better?
38:16Yeah.
38:17Oh.
38:17No.
38:18I don't know.
38:19She's already
38:20seen her blanket.
38:21Okay.
38:21I love it.
38:22It's beautiful.
38:23It is so soft.
38:25She said,
38:25I see something
38:26in that basket
38:26with a black top
38:27on that bottle.
38:29Her personality
38:30is still pretty much
38:30there,
38:31so Nana's Nana.
38:32So I think
38:32she's doing
38:33pretty good right now.
38:35Did Nana
38:35see her board yet?
38:37Not yet.
38:38We'll show her
38:39if you can get her board.
38:40What?
38:40We made you
38:41another board.
38:42Oh, okay.
38:45Do you know
38:46everybody on this board?
38:48Joe,
38:49Alex,
38:50Tara,
38:51you,
38:53Emma.
38:53Amber.
38:56Amber.
38:57Who's that
38:58in the middle picture?
39:00Oh.
39:01Almost my
39:02and her husband.
39:04Almost husband.
39:05What do you mean
39:06almost?
39:07They're not married yet.
39:08Oh, okay.
39:09Yeah,
39:09they're getting married
39:10later.
39:11Given Nana's
39:12diagnosis
39:13and her state
39:13of health,
39:14it is unlikely
39:16that she will be
39:16here for the wedding.
39:17so we are all
39:19trying to
39:19emotionally prepare
39:20for that.
39:21They had brought her
39:22some 4th of July glasses.
39:25Oh, nice.
39:25Oh, okay.
39:26Put those on.
39:27I told her
39:27throw off the peace sign.
39:29Just two colors.
39:30Yes, just two things.
39:31Oh, yeah.
39:31One, three.
39:33I feel like
39:33our visit
39:34and the package
39:35cheered Nana up,
39:36but I do feel like
39:38the ball of scotch
39:39and the chicken livers
39:40made her day.
39:42Dammit,
39:43I want you to eat one.
39:45Emma, try one.
39:50I don't want
39:51the chicken liver
39:52and I'm not eating
39:52a liver.
39:53They never sound
39:54appetizing to me
39:55and I don't think
39:55I'll ever try one.
39:57Yeah, the liver
39:57and the gizzards.
40:00I don't eat filters.
40:03I don't let a dog
40:04lick me in the face
40:05and lick me
40:05and give me kisses.
40:07I don't eat chicken livers.
40:11Okay.
40:12All right.
40:13Love you, Nana.
40:14Love you, Nana.
40:14Bye.
40:23Everyone is excited
40:24to go to San Diego.
40:25We do have a lot going on
40:27in the wedding.
40:28Nana's in the nursing home
40:30and under hospice care,
40:31but I think we're all
40:33just ready to relax
40:33and have a good time
40:34this week
40:35at our conference.
40:36In our group,
40:37Bryce,
40:38Allie,
40:39and Leighton
40:40are the three
40:41that have never been
40:42to California.
40:43Hopefully this conference
40:44will be fun,
40:45but the travel part,
40:47yeah,
40:48we will see
40:49how this goes.
40:51What did you say?
40:55All of us got up
40:56at 4.30 in the morning
40:57and Leighton was tired too.
41:06It is not common
41:07for Leighton
41:07to be crying.
41:13As long as Leighton's crying,
41:14I hope the Bloody Marys
41:15are good.
41:21Next time
41:22on Seven Little Johnstons.
41:24So we have officially
41:25arrived in San Diego
41:27and we're all pretty
41:28pumped and excited.
41:29We're in the water.
41:31Oh!
41:33Put your gloves
41:34straight at the bird.
41:35Ashley,
41:36she was like,
41:36Oh!
41:40How are you?
41:41Good,
41:41how are you?
41:42It's been way too long.
41:43We're at a winery
41:45to see Daisy Carol
41:47and her fiancé, Zach.
41:48I can't even believe
41:49that we haven't seen you
41:50since you've been
41:50like engaged.
41:51Have y'all set a date?
41:53We have.
41:54And now that
41:55it's actually happening,
41:56I would love for you guys
41:57to be my bridesmaids.
42:02We're doing a walkthrough
42:03with our wedding planner,
42:04Julie.
42:05There's still some confusion
42:06where everything's
42:07going to be placed.
42:08Where is your arches
42:09going to be?
42:10On top of the hill.
42:10Really?
42:11I thought you were
42:11building a platform.
42:12I have not planned
42:14on building a platform.
42:15That big slump right there
42:16needs to get filled in.
42:17We have a hole here
42:18and a hole here
42:19that has to get filled in.
42:20This is going to be a lot
42:21in order to transform
42:22the field into a wedding venue.
42:24I say we walk back
42:25out to the house
42:25because the longer
42:26we stay down here,
42:27the longer Dad's list gets.
