Iran delivers a pointed message to the Iraqi people, emphasizing unity and shared struggle. It says Iraq’s support—through solidarity, grief, and firm positions—has stood alongside Iran. Tehran confirms that Strait of Hormuz restrictions will not apply to Iraq, signaling strategic consideration. It urges Baghdad to seize a historic moment to end the U.S. military presence and halt alleged exploitation of Iraqi resources. Iran frames both nations as aligned against common adversaries, projecting a narrative of joint resistance and eventual victory.

00:00In the name of Allah, the most gracious, the most merciful, to the proud Muslim people of friendly and brotherly
00:05Iraq.
00:06The criminal United States and the Zionist entity, in full cooperation with their allies and partners,
00:12have launched a heinous and brutal aggression against the national and Islamic sovereignty of our beloved country, Iran.
00:19They cowardly and savagely bombed innocent women, children, and civilians,
00:24deliberately targeting schools, students, medical centers, and vital public service institutions.
00:29In such challenging circumstances, the beloved and Muslim Iraqi people adopted a wise and sincere stance
00:35in confronting global American arrogance and the terrorist Zionist entity.
00:40They displayed a powerful and revolutionary reaction to the martyrdom of the esteemed leader of the Islamic revolution
00:46and its great religious authority, his eminence, Grand Ayatollah Khamenei, along with all other righteous martyrs.
00:53And we see, we state this sincerely, the Iranian people were never alone,
00:58for we were waging the battle, and your hearts, your tears, and your firm stances were and still remain with
01:03us.
01:03Your support was and will continue to be a great source of determination and steadfastness for us to continue the
01:08struggle.
01:09Asadah!
01:12We raise our hands in fervent prayer for your success in confronting criminal America and its nefarious agents,
01:17and we implore Almighty God to guide your every step and crown your noble efforts with ultimate victory.
01:23Truly, your steadfast positions and courageous deeds will be etched forever in the glorious annals of history.
01:28We hereby declare that our brotherly Iraq is exempt from any restrictions we have imposed in the Strait of Hormuz,
01:35as these measures only apply to hostile nations.
01:37We hold immense respect for Iraq's national sovereignty,
01:41for you are a nation that bears the deep scars of the American occupation and its lasting consequences,
01:46and your steadfast struggle against America is truly worthy of our highest appreciation and reverence.
01:52You have practically proven through your actions that you are a nation that will not yield,
01:56nor will it submit to any system of domination,
01:58and this is truly a great source of pride and honor for you.
02:02And today's developments, coupled with the significant assistance and support you have provided,
02:07could offer Iraq a truly historic opportunity to finally end the American presence imposed upon its territory,
02:14establish lasting and sustainable security,
02:16and bring a definitive halt to the ongoing plunder of Iraq's immense wealth by the United States.
02:22The Iranian people extend their utmost reverence and honor
02:25to the souls of the martyrs of the heroic Iraqi people,
02:29especially the martyrs of the resistance factions and the popular mobilization forces,
02:34and implore God Almighty to grant their honorable families patience and solace.
02:39He also extends his greetings to the valiant fighters of the resistance factions,
02:43and to the conscious Iraqi people, and to the noble sons of the tribes throughout Iraq.
02:48We pray to God for your lasting success and righteous guidance.
02:52We highly appreciate the noble and principled stances of the esteemed scholars and jurists in Iraq,
02:57especially the supreme Shiite religious authority,
02:59and their unwavering support for the Iranian people,
03:02and their steadfast positions in confronting global arrogance.
03:05Oh, dear people of Iraq,
03:06you are truly a source of honor and pride for all Muslims throughout the world,
03:09so take immense pride in your courage and your steadfast resilience.
03:12Indeed, the Iranian and Iraqi people stand united in a single trench.
03:17Hand in hand,
03:18they will achieve victory in this historic battle against the malicious enemy and the great Satan,
03:24America and its agents,
03:26and against Israel,
03:27the killer of children.
03:28They will surely taste the flavor of glorious triumph with the care of Allah,
03:33the Almighty,
03:34God willing.
03:36And in conclusion,
03:37we bring to mind the solemn pledge of the truthful martyr,
03:39Zuhair ibn al-Khain.
03:40May Allah's divine pleasure forever rest upon him,
03:42in whom the very spirit of selfless,
03:44unwavering sacrifice for the ultimate victory of truth
03:46was profoundly embodied,
03:48as he courageously addressed Imam al-Husayn,
03:50peace be upon him,
03:50with these powerful words declaring,
03:52By Allah,
03:53even if I were to be killed,
03:54then brought back to life,
03:55then killed again,
03:56until I am slain a thousand times in this very manner.
03:58And that God will,
03:59by this means,
04:00avert the killing from your own person,
04:02and from the lives of these young men,
04:04who are of your household.
04:05And may the peace,
04:07mercy and blessings of Allah be upon you.
04:35More than 400 vessels,
04:38are currently waiting for clearance
04:40to pass through the Strait of Hormuz,
04:43as Iran tightens its grip
04:45over one of the world's most critical energy routes.
04:48What you're seeing in this footage is real.
04:52Massive oil tankers and cargo ships,
04:55some anchored,
04:56others drifting slowly,
04:58forming a scattered maritime backlog
05:00across the Persian Gulf and Gulf of Oman.
05:04This is not a routine traffic jam.
05:07This is a controlled choke point.
05:10Since early March, 2026,
05:13Iran has turned Hormuz
05:14into a permission-based corridor.
05:17The Strait isn't fully closed,
05:19but it's no longer freely accessible.
05:22Ships now require approval to pass,
05:25and that approval depends on who you are.
05:28Vessels linked to the United States,
05:31Israel,
05:32or their Gulf allies,
05:33Saudi Arabia,
05:34United Arab Emirates,
05:36Qatar,
05:36Kuwait,
05:37are being denied passage
05:39or treated as potential targets.
05:42Meanwhile,
05:43ships heading toward Asian markets,
05:45including China and India,
05:46are being allowed through,
05:48but only after coordination,
05:50and, in some cases,
05:52the payment of heavy transit fees.
05:55This is no longer just about security.
05:58It's about leverage.
06:00The scale of disruption is massive.
06:02Initial reports suggested
06:04over 350 vessels were waiting.
06:07Now,
06:08multiple maritime tracking agencies
06:10confirm that the number has crossed 400.
06:13And across the wider region,
06:16close to 2,000 ships
06:18are either delayed,
06:19rerouted,
06:20or stuck waiting.
06:22But these ships are not lined up
06:24in a single queue.
06:25They are spread out,
06:27holding position,
06:28anchored offshore,
06:30or circling slowly,
06:31waiting for clearance,
06:33or waiting for the situation to change.
06:36Before this conflict,
06:37around 130 ships
06:39passed through Hormuz
06:41every single day.
06:43Now,
06:43that number has collapsed
06:45by nearly 95%.
06:47On some days,
06:49only a handful of vessels,
06:50sometimes fewer than 10,
06:52make it through.
06:53Most of them are Iranian exports
06:56or approved carriers bound for Asia.
06:58This slowdown is not accidental.
07:01It is part of Iran's broader strategy
07:04in what has now become an energy war.
07:07Instead of striking Western homelands directly,
07:10Iran is targeting the arteries
07:12of global energy,
07:13oil routes,
07:15LNG supply chains,
07:17and maritime choke points.
07:18By controlling Hormuz,
07:21Iran is effectively holding
07:22nearly 20% of the world's oil supply
07:25at risk.
07:26And the global impact is immediate.
07:29Oil prices surge.
07:31Shipping insurance costs skyrocket.
07:34Supply chains tighten.
07:35Some vessels are now rerouting
07:38around Africa,
07:39adding weeks to journeys
07:40and sharply increasing costs.
07:43Europe and Asia
07:44are both feeling the pressure,
07:46especially as LNG supplies shrink.
07:49The United States,
07:51under Donald Trump,
07:52has issued repeated warnings,
07:54reopen the strait,
07:56or face further escalation.
07:58At the same time,
07:59signals of possible negotiations
08:01are emerging.
08:03But on the ground,
08:04or rather on the water,
08:06nothing has changed.
08:07The backlog remains,
08:09the control remains,
08:11and the pressure is building.
