01:26I'll tell you what, man. If Ken was able to come back, win this championship, it's the only championship other
01:33than the SMX World Championship that has eluded him through his career.
01:37Man, this would just be icing on the cake for him.
01:41I was talking to his team manager via text today, Larry Brooks, and Larry said Kenny is as happy with
01:48the fight now, JT, and he's as happy with his starts as he's been in a long time.
01:54Well, it often looks awfully like that. He is just on rails right now.
01:58And, you know, when I watch these guys, you know, yes, they're battling for position and gate picking all these
02:03things in the heat race, but there's a lot of messages being sent.
02:06Because for Hunter, he wants to get back out there, win the heat race, and say, yeah, I crashed, so
02:11what?
02:11But it's business as usual.
02:13But for Kenny, he wants to kind of change the narrative and say, it doesn't matter what you did last
02:17week, crash or not.
02:18I'm the fastest guy in the series now, and you guys all better be on watch for the points from
02:24here on out.
02:24So it's the subliminal stuff that goes on between the minds of these racers that I find so fascinating.
02:30Well, I mean, again, JT, you and I talked about it off air, just how important it is at this
02:36time of the year and to keep it going.
02:38And, again, like I talked about at the top of the show, I mean, yeah, Hunter was bummed, but at
02:43the same time, he's so happy with where his riding is that, you know, he feels confident that he can
02:49get back in the groove.
02:50And he's gotten a good start here. Now, this is the guy that just doesn't seem like he's been the
02:55same.
02:56And he's got to find that mojo and that beast mode and activate that thing before Ken Rockson can continue
03:03to put in the rides like he did last year.
03:05And Hunter Lawrence get back to the form that he was before last week, Will.
03:11Speaking to Eli yesterday, Ricky, he did say, well, go back a couple of weeks.
03:15He said, Birmingham, I just physically wasn't feeling very well.
03:18He was under the weather there.
03:19And then he said last week, he just described it as being off.
03:22He also said that himself and the team went to California and tested for a couple of days last week.
03:28Speaking to crew chiefs and team managers, they said that they found some stuff in the suspension that they wanted
03:33him to try.
03:34And that this was simply about as they, as the series here sort of continues, he's just adjusting for that
03:40dirt.
03:40Well, update during the day, update during the day today as Tomac moves, oh, attempts on Justin Hill again there
03:47through the works.
03:48Update during the day, they said they're not exactly where they were.
03:51They just had to continue to tweak it.
03:53And that's been the story of the day for a lot of riders because this dirt, Ricky, has caught them
03:57out.
03:58It's been a lot softer than anybody predicted.
04:00Well, and I think that, you know, he's been able to put this bike in a lot of different track
04:05conditions, sand, hard pack, gravel, and it's worked pretty well.
04:11But definitely it seems like things are a lot different, JT, than it was the first six rounds.
04:17And this is a time where you really need to be shining.
04:20Yeah, and there was a lot of talk this week.
04:22Everybody's just wondering what's up with Eli Tomac.
04:25And, you know, to his credit, he says, hey, I'm not injured.
04:29But the bigger point is that the way he's riding, it doesn't matter if he's injured.
04:33It doesn't matter if they're chasing something on the motorcycle.
04:35It's too punitive in the championship to simply perform to this level if he wants to win.
04:41And just look at this heat race where I'm still a minute left and he's 10 seconds down.
04:46That is continuing the trend that we've seen over the last few races that simply will not be enough to
04:52get this job done.
04:53Well, JT, and to add on to what you're saying, when I'm watching Eli, you know, I talked about it
04:57last week in Detroit where I just, it looked like his bike wasn't flowing in the corners.
05:02He was struggling.
05:03And then I just don't like the attack position.
05:07I don't see it.
05:08It doesn't look like he's chasing down the rib of wings.
05:11Yeah, it just looks like everything.
05:12It's like he's second-guessing everything and that he's not trusting it like he was early in the season.
05:18Look at this guy, Malcolm Stewart, sits third at the moment.
05:21That's where he finished in last week's main event for his first podium on the season.
05:25And Malcolm just has this really awesome run of momentum at the moment as he's ahead of Jorge Frato.
05:31Malcolm's finished 10th, 7th, 5th, and 3rd in the last four races.
05:36That is awesome momentum.
05:38He said, I'm feeling good again now.
05:40It's a little bit strange to be doing it alone because his training partners, RJ Hampshire and Aaron Flessinger, aren't
05:47around.
05:47So he said, we have a lot of fun together.
05:50And he said, having to do it by myself isn't great, but getting on the podium sure felt good.
05:55Well, absolutely.
05:56It's getting better every single weekend, getting healthy like you just talked about.
05:59But also, I go back to practicing by yourself.
06:02It's great having practice partners, but sometimes when you're by yourself, maybe it can be boring,
06:07but you can just focus on what you're doing rather than racing your practice mates.
06:12So I think it's twofold there.

06:42win back from that massive injury in 2020.
06:47Got to feel good coming back.
06:48Well, what it was, what it was, it was answering the critics of everybody saying, oh, second half of the
06:53season.
06:53He always fades.
06:54He's never around.
06:55Can't keep it together.
06:56He's like, yeah?

07:29I think it's going to be fireworks.
07:30I could guarantee you in that corner if he had not messed up.
07:33But Harrison's going to get it.
