00:00:02Good morning, Corning!
00:00:03I hope you're all having a wonderful start to your day.
00:00:06Let's take a look at the weather.
00:00:07We have a cold front from Lake Huron heading southeast over Buffalo,
00:00:11bringing Arctic temperatures and, more importantly,
00:00:13a chance for me to finally break out that parka I got on Black Friday.
00:00:17Until then, expect highs in the mid to low 40s.
00:00:20Well, thank you, Ted.
00:00:21So, any exciting plans for the holiday?
00:00:24I'm glad that you asked slash read that off the teleprompter, Ken.
00:00:27I'll be heading two hours north to my hometown of Lackawanna,
00:00:30where my older sister is planning the Gingerbread Invitational.
00:00:34What's the Gingerbread Invitational, Ted?
00:00:36Thanks for asking, Ken.
00:00:38It is an event that gathers the best gingerbread bakers in the state
00:00:42to help raise money to build a new children's wing in the local hospital.
00:00:45So, all week, I will be delivering heartfelt and shameless promos
00:00:48encouraging everyone in the area to come out and help support a great cause.
00:00:53Thank you, Ted.
00:00:55Now, let's get real for a minute.
00:00:57You have a legendary run of bad luck at Christmas over the years.
00:01:02Oh, I think legendary is overblown, and we don't need to get into it, Ken.
00:01:06Well, didn't you almost burn your house down last year?
00:01:09Indeed I did, Ken. Grease fires are no joke.
00:01:11No, they are not. And the year before that, I believe you got attacked by a possum
00:01:16who was living in your Christmas tree.
00:01:17Yes, yes, indeed I was. But in all fairness, I was the one who chopped down his house,
00:01:22put it on the roof of my car, and drove it down the highway.
00:01:24So, who really got the worst end of that deal?
00:01:27And didn't you, the year before that, get a disease so rare that they actually named it after you?
00:01:36Yes, yes I did. Symptoms include undeniable charisma and effortless charm.
00:01:41All kidding aside, if you suspect you have Ted Cooperitis, seek immediate medical attention.
00:01:46Well, you know what, Ted? I'm not sure that I would share your enthusiasm for the holidays.
00:01:51Oh boy, you are such a Grinch, Ken. What's not to love? Christmas is a time of coming together and
00:01:56celebrating,
00:01:57and it just brings out the best in everyone. And sure, I have had a few tricky, maybe problematic,
00:02:05potentially horrendous Christmases in a row. But that luck has to change eventually. So why not this year?
00:02:11Well, I wouldn't bet the farm on it, Ted. And speaking of farms, coming up, an unlikely friendship
00:02:18between a horse and a cat that you have to see to believe. And we're clear.
00:02:25Love the new hair, Ken. If I didn't know any better, I think it was your own.
00:02:29It is my own. Hey, Ted? Ted?
00:02:53Hey, thanks again for letting me promote the Invitational, Jerry.
00:02:55Whoa, I should be thanking you. Not a lot of people watching weather reports on TV when they get weather
00:02:59on their phone.
00:03:00Yeah, I like to think they care about hearing their weather from a trained professional.
00:03:03Oh, Teddy boy, they care about you. Yeah? Is that why you took a shot on me?
00:03:09You know what? It doesn't matter. The fact is, you did. When no one else would. And I appreciate you
00:03:15for it.
00:03:15Well, my intentions weren't as pure as they might seem. Viewers also like tuning in around Christmas to see what
00:03:20could go terribly wrong.
00:03:21Yeah, yeah. I still maintain that Santa Does the Weather would have been a great segment had that chimney been
00:03:27a little wider.
00:03:28Mm-hmm, mm-hmm. Hey, did WDTP give you a call yet?
00:03:31Yeah. Actually, they called this morning.
00:03:33So, did you give them an answer?
00:03:34No.
00:03:36No? There's a lot to think about. I mean, they're the state's biggest network outside the city.
00:03:40I'm happy here. You guys are like family.
00:03:43Hey, hey. Whoa, what's going on here?
00:03:46Flip that back over.
00:03:48What is this?
00:03:51Everyone's taking bets on what's gonna happen to you this Christmas.
00:03:54What?
00:03:55Hmm.
00:03:58This is dark, guys. Come on. Impaled by a reindeer antler?
00:04:03What?
00:04:03Who took that bet?
00:04:06Janice?
00:04:07Ken gave me 500 to one. I couldn't pass up those sweet, sweet odds.
00:04:10Also, guys, seriously, why is me kissing a beautiful woman less likely than getting impaled by a reindeer?
00:04:17Fifty-one people are rooting for me to choke on a chunk of fruitcake. Joke's on you clowns. I don't
00:04:22like fruitcake.
00:04:23Also, not funny to root for me going to jail. I would do horribly in jail.
00:04:27You know what? None of this matters anyways.
00:04:29Because this year, ha-ha, this is the year that old Ted Cooper's Christmas bad luck finally turns around.
00:04:36Losing a lot of money, folks.
00:04:41You smell great.
00:04:43I know.
00:04:44This is so cute.
00:04:52How does it make you feel?
00:05:04Easy.
00:05:12Not funny.
00:05:14Uh...
00:05:14What's the day, hear you say it?
00:05:23Are you there?
00:05:26Hear you say it?
00:05:28Baby, brother!
00:05:29Hey!
00:05:33I have been waiting for half an hour.
00:05:35Can we go?
00:05:36Absolutely.
00:05:37Where are we going?
00:05:37Going to sleep.
00:05:39Going home.
00:05:39Not in that order.
00:05:40What?
00:05:40Kate, no.
00:05:41That's boring.
00:05:42I just got in the town.
00:05:43Let's go have a drink.
00:05:43Ted.
00:05:44Kate.
00:05:46Kate.
00:05:47Fine.
00:05:48We can have one drink, a small one, maybe a festive shot.
00:05:52Shots.
00:05:52I love where your head's at.
00:05:54Shot.
00:05:54So many shots.
00:05:55Singular.
00:06:04Where is my tag?
00:06:06There are fresh towels and a brand new toothbrush upstairs because I know you always forget everything.
00:06:12You know me so well.
00:06:13Your suitcase is on my table.
00:06:15Just give me a second.
00:06:17Something's not right.
00:06:21Yikes.
00:06:22I must have had the same kind of suitcases as that girl on the bus.
00:06:25Should I be worried about you covering the fundraiser with everything that happens to you every Christmas?
00:06:31What?
00:06:32No, this isn't a setback.
00:06:33This is an opportunity to try out some new looks.
00:06:37I mean, oof.
00:06:39Oh, come on.
00:06:41Sugar.
00:06:42What?
00:06:43These might actually fit.
00:06:45Wow.
00:06:52Good morning.
00:06:53Hey.
00:06:55Wow.
00:06:55That is a very pink sweater.
00:06:57That girl had good taste, right?
00:06:59Mm-hmm.
00:07:00Why do you do it up?
00:07:01I am making us breakfast.
00:07:03Since when do you make us breakfast?
00:07:04You made me breakfast my entire childhood.
00:07:06The literal least I can do is make you the occasional omelet.
00:07:09Aw.
00:07:11Uh, you're gonna go shopping today, right?
00:07:13Because your first promo is tonight, and, um, I'm not sure that, uh, that's the vibe.
00:07:18I am not going anywhere until you try that omelet.
00:07:22Okay.
00:07:26Mm.
00:07:27Uh-huh.
00:07:28Fluffy and delicious.
00:07:30Yeah.
00:07:30Secret ingredient is love.
00:07:32Hey, I couldn't help but notice the alarming lack of Christmas lights on the house.
00:07:36Yeah.
00:07:37I've been really busy.
00:07:38Really?
00:07:39That's strange.
00:07:40You haven't mentioned that in the last three minutes.
00:07:45You're wearing a pink crop sweater.
00:07:48Yeah.
00:07:56Stay.
00:07:58Good box.
00:07:59Nope.
00:08:00Stay.
00:08:01Stay.
00:08:03There you go.
00:08:07Hi, Ted.
00:08:08This is Max at WDTV.
00:08:10Checking in on our job offer.
00:08:12Give us a call and no rush.
00:08:15Merry Christmas.
00:08:30Unstoppable.
00:08:32Oh, no.
00:08:37How are you holding up?
00:08:39I'm fine.
00:08:39You're unconscious.
00:08:41It's called a catnap, Kate.
00:08:42I asked you what 2 plus 2 was, and you said 22.
00:08:45And I've never been great at math.
00:08:47You have your master's in atmospheric sciences, Ted.
00:08:49Put the ice pack on.
00:08:55Ted?
00:08:57Ms. Mittens?
00:08:58What happened to you?
00:09:00A box of Christmas lights.
00:09:01You?
00:09:02Hot cookie sheet.
00:09:04Oof.
00:09:04Are you still teaching science?
00:09:06I retired last year.
00:09:08Wow.
00:09:09Congratulations, Ms. Mittens.
00:09:11Oh, please.
00:09:11Call me Ruth.
00:09:12It's great to see you, Ruth.
00:09:13I'm back every Christmas.
00:09:14How have we never run into each other?
00:09:16Oh, I usually do the holidays in Florida, but not this year.
00:09:19Well, Florida's loss is my gain.
00:09:21I always knew you'd do well for yourself, Ted.
00:09:24And people send me your clips all the time.
00:09:26They do?
00:09:27Sure.
00:09:28Especially the one where you get stuck in the chimney at Christmas.
00:09:31Mm-hmm.
00:09:32Hilarious.
00:09:32Yeah.
00:09:33Well, I am glad I could entertain you.
00:09:35It's good to see you, Ted.
00:09:36You too.
00:09:37Any chance you'd be interested in grabbing a coffee with your former favorite student sometime
00:09:41this week?
00:09:41Oh, why?
00:09:42Is she here?
00:09:45Still got it.
00:09:47Ms. Mittens?
00:09:48Amazing.
00:09:49Take care.
00:09:49Yeah.
00:09:50Ted, they're ready.
00:09:51Oh, great.
00:09:55Good luck.
00:09:55Here's your ice pack.
00:09:56Thanks.
00:10:01Okay, next time, let's just make sure that we check the expiration date on the eggnog.
00:10:07Merry Christmas.
00:10:14How many cups you had today?
00:10:15Mm, too many to count.
00:10:16Go home, Hope.
00:10:17You're understaffed.
00:10:19And you're pulling a 12-hour shift.
00:10:20I don't need a tired doctor.
00:10:22Oh, every doctor is tired.
00:10:23Come on.
00:10:24Look, I can pick up the slack.
00:10:26I once treated 90 patients here in a day.
00:10:28And you have never let us forget that.
00:10:31You know what I'm going to do when I get home?
00:10:32A little bit of online Christmas shopping, glass of red wine, and the Chris Hemsworth movie.
00:10:38Hmm.
00:10:39Do you know what you're going to do when you get off work?
00:10:40Yeah, I'm going to pray that my best friend stops giving me lectures.
00:10:43No, you are definitely going to be trying to pick up more shifts here.
00:10:46Okay.
00:10:46Well, given the year that I've had, I want to stay busy.
00:10:51I get that.
00:10:52I get that.
00:10:52But you are no good to anybody if you burn out.
00:10:54So come over for a movie tonight.
00:10:56Which Chris Hemsworth movie is it?
00:10:58Doesn't matter.
00:11:00No.
00:11:00No, it does not.
00:11:01Oh, wait, wait, wait, wait.
00:11:03Guess who's here?
00:11:05Who?
00:11:05Ted Cooper.
00:11:07Coop?
00:11:09From high school?
00:11:10I think so.
00:11:11We had his insurance on file.
00:11:13Oh, I didn't know he lived around here.
00:11:14I don't think he does.
00:11:15I think he's back for Christmas.
00:11:16He's a weatherman over in Corning.
00:11:18Hmm.
00:11:19Well, good for him.
00:11:20Yeah.
00:11:21He was always so sweet, you know, in like a nerdy kind of way.
00:11:24That might be because he had a crush on you.
00:11:28Okay, please.
00:11:29You may not have noticed, but he fell hard for you back in the day.
00:11:33And apparently something fell hard on his head.
00:11:35So have fun.
00:11:37Oh.
00:11:37You're welcome.
00:11:38Enjoy.
00:11:46Hey, Coop.
00:11:48Hope.
00:11:49Wow, hi.
00:11:50I didn't know you were back in town.
00:11:52Yeah.
00:11:52I moved back late last year.
00:11:55You look different.
00:11:56You look the same.
00:11:57Hmm.
00:11:58Well, what brings you in?
00:12:00Box of Christmas lights to the dome.
00:12:02Oh, anything broken?
00:12:04Mm, probably not.
00:12:05I have a hard head.
00:12:05I meant the box of lights.
00:12:08Right.
00:12:10So I hear you're back in town for Christmas with your sister.
00:12:14You've been asking around about me, Hope?
00:12:17Sydney told me.
00:12:18Ah, Sydney, yeah.
00:12:19You know she gave me stitches a few Christmases ago?
00:12:21She did.
00:12:22I had an unfortunate incident involving a porcelain nativity scene.
00:12:26Ooh.
00:12:26Let's just say now there are only two wise men in Bethlehem.
00:12:29Which one broke?
00:12:31Gold.
00:12:32Hmm.
00:12:33Poor baby Jesus.
00:12:34You know, stuck with frankincense and myrrh.
00:12:37I don't even know what myrrh is.
00:12:39No one does.
00:12:40I'm just gonna have a look here.
00:12:42Any headaches?
00:12:44Dizziness?
00:12:44Nope.
00:12:45No?
00:12:46Me?
00:12:46Look straight ahead.
00:12:48Hmm.
00:12:49I never knew you had blue eyes.
00:12:55Well, no lacerations.
00:12:57No concussion.
00:12:58I think you just had your bell rung.
00:13:01It feels appropriate to have my bell rung at Christmas.
00:13:05You know what else?
00:13:07You look good in pink.
00:13:09Hey, thanks.
00:13:10I got it from a college girl's suitcase.
00:13:12Hmm.
00:13:12Nope.
00:13:12That sounded bad.
00:13:13I brought a college girl's clothes home with me.
00:13:16That sounded worse.
00:13:18You know what?
00:13:18Let's just chalk it up to the head injury.
00:13:22I had it on before the head injury.
00:13:24Oh, well, let's keep that between us.
00:13:26Little doctor, patient, confidentiality.
00:13:30Probably a good idea.
00:13:31Well, I hope you enjoy your vacation while you're here, Coop.
00:13:35Thanks.
00:13:35But it's actually, it's not just a vacation.
00:13:37I'm here doing promos for the Gingerbread Invitational.
00:13:40Well, it's the fundraiser for, well, actually, this...
00:13:43I know.
00:13:44I work here.
00:13:46Right.
00:13:46Yeah, obviously, you know what that is.
00:13:52Oh.
00:13:55Do you give lollipops to all your patients?
00:13:57Mm, only the really brave ones.
00:14:00I was really brave, wasn't I?
00:14:02Mm-hmm.
00:14:05We'll see you around, Coop.
00:14:07Bye, Hope.
00:14:12I assume you heard all that?
00:14:14How dare you assume that I was eavesdropping on that unbelievably cute exchange?
00:14:21Come on.
00:14:27Kate.
00:14:28Kate.
00:14:29What'd the doctor say?
00:14:30Things are looking up, baby.
00:14:32Ask for Dr. Newberry.
00:14:33She's got lollipops.
00:14:44And why didn't you tell me Hope Newberry worked here?
00:14:47Because I didn't want to spend our phone calls sending you gush about your high school crush.
00:14:51I didn't have a crush on her.
00:14:53She said you didn't have a concussion?
00:14:54She said it was fine.
00:14:55Maybe we need a second opinion.
00:14:57Mm.
00:14:58Ted!
00:15:00Is that Miss Mittens?
00:15:01Call her Ruth.
00:15:02No, I'm not going to call her Ruth.
00:15:03She was our teacher.
00:15:04Hi, Miss Mittens!
00:15:06Hi.
00:15:06Okay, we gotta go.
00:15:07I gotta go to work.
00:15:08What if she needs my help?
00:15:09She doesn't need your help, Ted.
00:15:10Ted, I need your help.
00:15:13Fine.
00:15:14But please do not show up in this for the promo tonight.
00:15:17Okay, don't worry.
00:15:18I'll be there.
00:15:18I'm going to look great.
00:15:19Okay.
00:15:20Bye, Miss Mittens!
00:15:21Hey, Ruth.
00:15:22How's the hand?
00:15:22Well, I won't be juggling any time soon.
00:15:26Well, that's a real shame.
00:15:27What can I do for you?
00:15:28I was supposed to get a tree and bring it home, but now with this...
00:15:32Say no more.
00:15:33I would be honored.
00:15:34You are a prince.
00:15:37Would you like me to drive?
00:15:38I'm hurt, Ted.
00:15:40I'm not blind.
00:15:42Duly noted.
00:15:48So you're looking for a bigger tree, you say?
00:15:50Well, I've collected a lot of ornaments in the past 72 years.
00:15:55How are you collecting ornaments two decades before you were born?
00:15:58That is disgustingly shameless flattery, and I so appreciate it.
00:16:05So, Hope Newberry, huh?
00:16:08Hope Newberry.
00:16:10Blast from the past.
00:16:11As I recall, you had quite the crush on her back in the day.
00:16:15Why does everyone keep saying that?
00:16:17We have eyes, ears.
00:16:19We barely even knew each other.
00:16:21Besides, she was way out of my league.
00:16:23Obviously.
00:16:24You didn't need to agree with me so quickly.
00:16:26We should ask her out while you're in town.
00:16:29Ms. Mittens, are you giving me dating advice?
00:16:32Oh, hello, big boy.
00:16:35Hmm.
00:16:35That's a good one.
00:16:36Yeah.
00:16:38Do you think you could find someone who works here who could help us?
00:16:41Yeah.
00:16:43Uh...
00:16:44What about him?
00:16:45Excuse me?
00:16:47Afternoon, ma'am.
00:16:48Uh, my mother is ma'am.
00:16:50You can call me Ruth.
00:16:51Actually, you can call me anytime you like.
00:16:54Easy, Mittens.
00:16:55Mm-hmm.
00:16:55Uh, my friend here would like this tree.
00:16:57You mind helping us cut it down?
00:16:58It'd be my pleasure.
00:17:00Maybe you could help us carry it, too.
00:17:04Any plans while you're in town?
00:17:07Uh, I'm doing promos for the gingerbread invitational, which you should come to.
00:17:11Mm-hmm.
00:17:11And my sister's having a Christmas costume party, which you should definitely come to.
00:17:15Ooh, costume party.
00:17:16Yeah, everyone's dressing up as their favorite Christmas characters.
00:17:18I'm in.
00:17:19Other than that, not much.
00:17:21Why?
00:17:22Well, I've got this walking group with a group of friends of mine.
00:17:25Oh, do you all wear matching tracksuits?
00:17:27Well, it wouldn't be a walking group without matching tracksuits.
00:17:30Do you want to join?
00:17:31Absolutely.
00:17:37Are we lost?
00:17:38What?
00:17:39I was following you.
00:17:41Oh.
00:17:42Where's that handsome lumberjack?
00:17:45Hello?
00:17:47Oh, you guys lost?
00:17:50Yeah, afraid so.
00:17:52Follow me.
00:17:58You know, there are easier ways of trying to hang out with me than injuring yourself.
00:18:03Are there?
00:18:04Well, now I feel silly.
00:18:06What'd you do?
00:18:07Christmas tree poked me in the eye.
00:18:09Every Christmas, hope it's something.
00:18:11Or multiple somethings.
00:18:12A whole army of somethings.
00:18:14Mm-hmm.
00:18:15You must really hate Christmas.
00:18:16You kidding?
00:18:17I love Christmas.
00:18:19Oh.
00:18:20Maybe I was wrong about the concussion.
00:18:23Follow me.
00:18:30So how's it been being back home?
00:18:31Well, I never intended on coming back to Lackawanna, but I do love this hospital.
00:18:37And if we can raise enough money for the new children's wing, I'd love to be head of pediatrics one
00:18:43day.
00:18:43Oh.
00:18:44I'd be lucky to have you.
00:18:48Lightly scratched, but I'd like you to give it a rest.
00:18:50So let's wear an eye patch until tomorrow morning.
00:18:53That works.
00:18:54You can pick one up at the pharmacy.
00:18:55Oof.
00:18:56I gotta be on the air in less than an hour.
00:18:58Any chance you guys have one around here?
00:19:03Uh...
00:19:04So be sure to head on down to Lackawanna for the Gingerbread Invitational and help raise money for a great
00:19:09cause.
00:19:10Or shall I say, a great clause.
00:19:13We miss you here in Corning, Ted.
00:19:15You sure are a sight for sore eyes.
00:19:18Good one, Ken.
00:19:19Yeah, I just noticed your little fashion accessory there.
00:19:24Very observant.
00:19:25Yes, I had my eye poked in a Christmas tree-related accident.
00:19:29Who here had eye poked in Christmas-related accident?
00:19:35Well, shiver me timbers, that's unfortunate, Ted.
00:19:39Sounds like your Christmas luck hasn't changed.
00:19:41Lazy pirate humor, Ken.
00:19:43And it's still plenty of time for this to be the best Christmas ever.
00:19:46In fact, it very well could be if everyone joins me at the Gingerbread Invitational.
00:19:50Hope to see you all there.
00:19:51Well, as much as you can anyways.
00:19:54Right.
00:19:54So, when making your holiday plans, please don't turn a blind eye to the Lackawanna Gingerbread Invitational.
00:20:02And we're clear?
00:20:04All right.
00:20:06Thanks.
00:20:08So, I kind of feel like the eye patch really helped elevate the holiday vibes.
00:20:12I love you, I love you, you're my brother, I love you, I love you, I love you.
00:20:17You can only get better.
00:20:26Morning.
00:20:27Morning.
00:20:29Oh, I never pegged you for a cap, a girl.
00:20:31Real funny.
00:20:31Have you seen the latest headlines, matey?
00:20:35That's good wordplay.
00:20:37What?
00:20:38I didn't have a choice, Kate.
00:20:39The doctor said I had to wear the eye patch until this morning.
00:20:42Which doctor?
00:20:44Dr. Newberry.
00:20:45Oh, you saw Hope again, huh?
00:20:48That's very interesting.
00:20:50Can I borrow your car?
00:20:50Because I'd love to go get some clothes so I don't have to spend the entire holiday dressed for a
00:20:53sorority rush.
00:20:54Yes, you may.
00:20:58Thanks, bye!
00:20:59Bye!
00:21:00Get a costume for my party!
00:21:10Ted!
00:21:11Ted!
00:21:12Ladies, this is Ted Cooper, a student of mine and a famous weatherman.
00:21:17What are you ladies up to?
00:21:18Is there a modeling convention in town?
00:21:20This is a walking group that I told you about.
00:21:23Care to join us?
00:21:24Oh, I would love to, but I got a rain check.
00:21:26I lost my suitcase, so I have to get some new clothes.
00:21:29All by yourself?
00:21:30Oh, not on our watch.
00:21:32Ladies, put your step counters to pause.
00:21:35We are going shopping.
00:21:37Oh, okay.
00:21:41Oh, thanks.
00:21:43Ooh.
00:21:44Thanks.
00:21:45Ooh.
00:21:46And this.
00:21:47Cassie.
00:21:47Sure.
00:21:49Casual handsome.
00:21:50Ooh.
00:21:51Nice, okay.
00:21:53I like this casual dressed up.
00:21:56Oh, okay.
00:21:58Yes.
00:21:59And one more.
00:22:00Why not?
00:22:01Yes.
00:22:03Okay.
00:22:05So I hear that an actor's coming by the station that day, but I don't know who.
00:22:09A little while later, I get a little tap on the shoulder, and this voice says to me,
00:22:13almost whispers in my ear, excuse me, are you Ted Cooper?
00:22:18Who could it be?
00:22:20And who do I see standing before me but the mountain of a man?
00:22:24That is Mark Harmon.
00:22:27Oh, my God.
00:22:28He smelled incredible.
00:22:31Hope, hey.
00:22:32Hi.
00:22:33Hi, Hope.
00:22:33This is the Lackawanna walking crew.
00:22:35Crew, this is Hope Newberry, Dr. Extraordinaire.
00:22:39Oh, I don't know about that, but this is the one I was telling you about.
00:22:42Hi, nice to meet you.
00:22:43Are you just getting off work?
00:22:45I am.
00:22:47Yeah, just used my last brain cell, was going to get a coffee, and then bury my face in a
00:22:52plate of carbs, hopefully.
00:22:54I did hear there's a burger deal down the road at the Fox and Hounds pub.
00:22:59Two for one, with all-you-can-eat fries.
00:23:02Oh, well, you had me on all-you-can-eat.
00:23:07You going to eat both those burgers yourself?
00:23:11Uh, well, I could, but I shouldn't.
00:23:15I'm not saying you couldn't.
00:23:17I was just thinking that chivalry dictates that I should probably help you out with those.
00:23:21Right.
00:23:22Let's do it.
00:23:26Ladies, it's been a delight.
00:23:28I will see you soon.
00:23:31You got that?
00:23:31Yeah, I think I do.
00:23:33Could we pop by my car so I can drop all this off?
00:23:34Yeah, you might need that.
00:23:37You got all your stuff?
00:23:40Wow, Judgey McJudger stuff.
00:23:42No, judgment, no.
00:23:44But I was wondering if your fan club always dressed like retired breakdancers.
00:23:49That's great.
00:23:50I got a text on that.
00:23:51Oh, you have their numbers.
00:23:53They added me to the group chat.
00:23:57After you.
00:24:03Hey, Ted Cooper!
00:24:05What's up, everybody?
00:24:07Do you want to, um, grab us a table and I'll get us some burgers?
00:24:10I can do that, yeah.
00:24:11Okay, great.
00:24:12What would you like to drink?
00:24:14Um, Christmas ale?
00:24:16Christmas ale.
00:24:17I like it.
00:24:19Hey, can I get two Christmas ales, please?
00:24:37What I can't believe is that every single person here knew your name.
00:24:43You're like, you're like that guy.
00:24:45The Norm from Cheers, that's who you are.
00:24:48The Norm, oh my gosh, wow.
00:24:51Well, I grew up here.
00:24:52Well, so did I.
00:24:53Yeah, but you moved away.
00:24:54So did you, and I live here now.
00:24:58You're right.
00:24:59It kind of sounds like a you issue.
00:25:01Does it?
00:25:02No, I'm kidding.
00:25:03I come here all the time whenever I'm back in town, so.
00:25:06Have you ever thought about moving back?
00:25:08Funnily enough, I just got a job offer in Buffalo.
00:25:12Hmm.
00:25:13During the weather?
00:25:13Mm-hmm.
00:25:14Well, that sounds like the universe aligning for you.
00:25:18Yeah.
00:25:19I don't know.
00:25:21Why?
00:25:21What?
00:25:22Why not?
00:25:22My producer in Corning, this guy Jerry, he gave me an opportunity right out of grad school
00:25:27when literally no one else would.
00:25:29Hmm.
00:25:29So I kind of feel like I owe my career to him, and Corning itself has been great to me,
00:25:35so.
00:25:36But is Corning home?
00:25:39No, it is not.
00:25:39I bet you if you asked every single person in this bar, they'd tell you to take the job
00:25:45in Buffalo, as would I.
00:25:47You would?
00:25:48Yeah.
00:25:49You might find this hard to understand, given you know every single person on a first-name
00:25:54basis within a five-mile radius.
00:25:56Oh, thank you very much.
00:25:57But I haven't had a lot of time to do much socializing, so be nice to see a friendly face.
00:26:06Wow.
00:26:07Ruth was right.
00:26:08These burgers do look amazing.
00:26:10Ooh.
00:26:11What?
00:26:12What's wrong?
00:26:13Oh, nothing.
00:26:14It's not a big deal.
00:26:15I had just asked for no mayo, and there's mayo.
00:26:17Hmm.
00:26:17Well, I'm sure they can fix it for you.
00:26:19No, no, no.
00:26:19It's fine.
00:26:20The server is the owner's kid.
00:26:22I don't want to get her in trouble.
00:26:23It's all good.
00:26:24Coop, you've been raving about these burgers.
00:26:26Everybody here loves you.
00:26:27I'm sure they'd love to fix it for you.
00:26:29It'd be no problem.
00:26:29Oh, it's fine.
00:26:30Really.
00:26:31I am having far too good a time to let a little mayo bring me down.
00:26:34Well, let's see it.
00:26:44Very mayo forward.
00:26:48Uh, hey, whatever happened to Matt Croner?
00:26:55Oh, we're going to bring up old high school exes, are we?
00:27:00Throwing you off your game is about the only chance I have.
00:27:02I don't think you can do that.
00:27:05Uh, we broke up in college.
00:27:07Oh, no.
00:27:08I was really rooting for you guys.
00:27:10Why'd you break up?
00:27:11Oh, I don't know.
00:27:13He would never open up.
00:27:16I don't know.
00:27:16I keep ending up in these relationships with guys that, you know, don't fight for it.
00:27:22I mean, I get it.
00:27:23I work long hours and that's hard, but I still, I...
00:27:27You don't have to tell me.
00:27:28It's the reason I'm single, too.
00:27:30Women cannot handle the hustle and grind of dating a meteorologist.
00:27:37You know, you haven't changed a bit from high school.
00:27:40That bad, huh?
00:27:41Not at all.
00:27:42I just, I mean, you have the same, you know, carefree disposition as you did in class.
00:27:49Okay.
00:27:49Yeah.
00:27:50Great recovery.
00:27:50I can go with that.
00:27:51Yeah.
00:27:51What about you?
00:27:52You look the same.
00:27:53Albeit with fewer emo punk t-shirts.
00:27:56True.
00:27:57So, uh, but I feel different.
00:28:00How so?
00:28:01Give me the crash course in hope.
00:28:04Five things that are different about you now from when you were in high school.
00:28:07Oh, five things.
00:28:08Feel free to let it, like, throw you off your game.
00:28:10Right, yeah.
00:28:10Okay.
00:28:10Five things that are different about hope.
00:28:13Well, for one, I, I speak three different languages now.
00:28:17Wow.
00:28:18Okay.
00:28:18Oh, I make my own ramen and I really enjoy audio books of romance novels.
00:28:24What kind of, uh, spice level are we talking here?
00:28:27Well, normally I stick to a PG-13, but recently I have-
00:28:30I, I meant ramen.
00:28:33Okay, I am a sucker for an escape room and I played a lot of darts in med school.
00:28:42Did you see that?
00:28:44Yeah.
00:28:44Really feel like hope from high school would have let me win one.
00:28:47I'm kind of missing her right now.
00:28:50Wow.
00:28:52Guess time flies and you're having fun.
00:28:54It does.
00:28:56Hey, I was thinking, since, you know, you're covering the fundraiser, um, would you like
00:29:02to come by the hospital tomorrow and I can walk you through what you're raising money for?
00:29:08Yeah.
00:29:08Yeah, that'd be great.
00:29:09Okay.
00:29:10It's a, uh, it's a, uh, an appointment.
00:29:15It's an appointment.
00:29:17Yeah.
00:29:18Sounds good.
00:29:20Good night, Ted.
00:29:21Night, Hope.
00:29:33Oh, no.
00:29:36No.
00:29:38Oh, come on.
00:29:43What do I do?
00:29:44What do I do?
00:29:48Yes.
00:29:49Okay.
00:29:53There we go.
00:29:58Ricky.
00:30:00Where are you?
00:30:02Oh, I found you.
00:30:04There you are.
00:30:07Hey, fellas.
00:30:10No, I don't want to press charges.
00:30:11He's my brother.
00:30:13Sorry, ma'am.
00:30:13We couldn't confirm he was family.
00:30:15A lot of Coopers out there?
00:30:16Okay.
00:30:18I wonder how the big houses changed him.
00:30:21We'll bring him right out.
00:30:23None other than national treasure himself, Mark Harmon.
00:30:27Can you believe that?
00:30:29Dude even smelled handsome.
00:30:30I don't know how that's possible.
00:30:33Ooh.
00:30:33Nice PJs.
00:30:36Brave.
00:30:38That's not funny.
00:30:39Merry Christmas, everybody.
00:30:41Thanks.
00:30:42Merry Christmas, Ted.
00:30:42Merry Christmas, Ted.
00:30:44It's hard enough being the favorite, but now I have the pleasure of telling dad his baby boy got arrested.
00:30:49Has the family newsletter gone out yet?
00:30:50You're the worst.
00:30:51And also the best.
00:30:52Thanks for bailing me out.
00:30:55All I'm saying is when it comes to inheritance, they take things like a criminal record into account.
00:31:00Well, by that standard, you should probably fire me from promoting the Invitational.
00:31:04You have a good point.
00:31:05I mean, I did give the promos to all of my events to the unluckiest guy in the world.
00:31:10What if I didn't pick up my phone?
00:31:11Yeah, but you did.
00:31:12And outside of some light incarceration, I had a great day.
00:31:14I hung out with Ruth and her walking crew.
00:31:16I got a bunch of clothes.
00:31:17I had dinner with Hope.
00:31:19You went out with Hope?
00:31:20Well, I didn't, no, no, I didn't go out with Hope.
00:31:24Like, I was with Hope and we were out.
00:31:28Cool your jets.
00:31:29All right, it was a friendly hang.
00:31:30But I am seeing her tomorrow.
00:31:31She's going to tell me all about the new children's wing.
00:31:33Figured it'd be good for the promos.
00:31:35Huh.
00:31:36You know who else could have told you about the children's wing?
00:31:38Hmm.
00:31:38Your sister, the fundraising coordinator.
00:31:41Yeah, but she's just so darn busy.
00:31:43Good night.
00:31:44Oh, by the way, the new studio called while you were in jail.
00:31:47They want to talk logistics about the new promo.
00:31:49What did you tell them?
00:31:53Uh, who had Ted goes to jail?
00:32:06So, Coop.
00:32:08Mm-hmm.
00:32:08He's not really your type.
00:32:10Oh, yeah?
00:32:11Yeah.
00:32:11What's my type?
00:32:13Nice car, well-groom beard.
00:32:15Emotionally unavailable?
00:32:17Yeah.
00:32:18Complete opposite of my type.
00:32:20Which is?
00:32:21Ooh, tall, muscular, really into Taylor Swift.
00:32:24Uh-huh.
00:32:25Worships me?
00:32:26Mm.
00:32:27I have not met him yet, sure, but he's out there.
00:32:31Yeah.
00:32:32I believe it.
00:32:34Hey!
00:32:34Oh, look at that.
00:32:35It's our hospital's most valuable customer.
00:32:37What can I say?
00:32:37I love to support local business.
00:32:39Mm-hmm.
00:32:39All right, well, I'm going to go do my job, so see you, Coop.
00:32:42Bye, Sid.
00:32:43Good to see you again.
00:32:45Ready for the tour?
00:32:46Oh, yeah.
00:32:47There's going to be 20 more rooms, all private.
00:32:49Um, two more operating rooms, and a garden on the roof.
00:32:54On the roof?
00:32:54Yeah.
00:32:55Wow.
00:32:56Oh.
00:32:57Hospitals can be a scary place for kids.
00:33:00Well, everyone, really.
00:33:02Let me try to make it as comfortable as possible.
00:33:06Hi.
00:33:07Really wanted to come and say thank you.
00:33:09Oh, you're welcome.
00:33:11ASL?
00:33:12My father was deaf.
00:33:14Oh.
00:33:14Hylia made gingerbread cookies.
00:33:22Mmm, Amelia.
00:33:25Delicious.
00:33:30Just wondering if you'd like to try one.
00:33:32Absolutely.
00:33:33I would love to.
00:33:34Mmm.
00:33:37Mmm.
00:33:39Mmm.
00:33:39Mmm.
00:33:40Mmm.
00:33:42Mmm.
00:33:45Is that peanut butter?
00:33:48Yes.
00:33:49It's our secret ingredient.
00:33:51Is it?
00:33:52Mmm.
00:33:57Wow.
00:33:58That is...
00:33:59That is very, very good.
00:34:04Mmm.
00:34:09Thanks for everything.
00:34:10Hope, I know I didn't get a chance earlier to say it, but, uh, I'm really sorry to hear
00:34:13about the passing of your dad.
00:34:15If you ever need anything, please let Ron and I know, okay?
00:34:17I will.
00:34:18Merry Christmas.
00:34:19Merry Christmas.
00:34:21Hope, I'm so sorry.
00:34:23I didn't know about your dad.
00:34:24Oh, well, I didn't talk about it.
00:34:27I don't talk about it.
00:34:29It's why I came back to Lackawanna.
00:34:32Yeah.
00:34:33I knew he wasn't doing so well, so he, um, he died three months ago.
00:34:39He...
00:34:39You okay?
00:34:40No, uh, I'm so sorry about all that.
00:34:41Do you have an EpiPen?
00:34:43Are you allergic to peanut butter?
00:34:44Yes, massively.
00:34:45You can't eat the cookie.
00:34:47Mmm.
00:34:50Doesn't hurt.
00:34:51Your face is swelling.
00:34:54Why would you eat the cookie?
00:34:56Okay, first of all, Hope, who puts peanut butter in a gingerbread cookie?
00:35:01No one.
00:35:02That's who.
00:35:02Also, what am I gonna do?
00:35:03Spit it out?
00:35:04Really?
00:35:04Did you see her?
00:35:05Big doe eyes?
00:35:06Arm and a little cast?
00:35:07Not a chance.
00:35:10Ted.
00:35:13I was gonna go home and finally decorate, but now we're gonna have to keep you under close
00:35:19observation.
00:35:21Oh, do you?
00:35:23No, we actually do.
00:35:24It's, it's protocol.
00:35:26Oh, it's protocol.
00:35:27Yep.
00:35:27Understood.
00:35:28Uh, well, I could help you.
00:35:31Hmm.
00:35:34Okay.
00:35:35Start with this guy at the top.
00:35:41Feeding, feeding, feeding.
00:35:47Let's go decorate a tree.
00:36:11What do I smell?
00:36:13Is that frosting and anxiety?
00:36:15The costume party is tonight, and I have 7,000 things I need to do.
00:36:19How can I help?
00:36:19I'm so glad you asked.
00:36:21You can call Hope and invite her to the party.
00:36:23She wants you to ask her out.
00:36:25How do you know?
00:36:26Because she likes you.
00:36:27You think so?
00:36:29I am pretty likable.
00:36:31Call her.
00:36:33Ouch.
00:36:54That was a long conversation.
00:36:57Yeah, she is, uh, quite the chatterbox.
00:37:00She said she's, um, gonna see what time she gets off work and try to cum.
00:37:04What's wrong?
00:37:06Nothing's wrong.
00:37:07You're sweating.
00:37:10Warm.
00:37:11It's 30 degrees out.
00:37:12I'm an athlete, Kate.
00:37:13I run hot.
00:37:19I'm an athlete, Kate, so I run hot.
00:37:22Shady, shady, brother.
00:37:24Not voicemail, not voicemail, not voicemail.
00:37:26Oh.
00:37:28Hey, what's up, Hope?
00:37:30It's Ted Cooper.
00:37:32From high school.
00:37:33And earlier this week.
00:37:35And your dreams.
00:37:36Nope.
00:37:38Hey, what's up, Ted?
00:37:39It's Hope.
00:37:40Nope.
00:37:41Come on, be a human.
00:37:42No, no, no, no, no, no.
00:37:44What's up, girl?
00:37:45It's your boy, TC.
00:37:46Ew.
00:37:47No, no.
00:37:48You got this.
00:37:49You got this.
00:37:49Easy breezy.
00:37:50Easy breezy.
00:37:54Hey, what's up?
00:37:57Oh, no.
00:37:58Come on.
00:38:00Ugh.
00:38:09Hi, Hope.
00:38:10This is Kate Cooper.
00:38:23Oh.
00:38:27Hey, wow.
00:38:29Awesome Scrooge costume.
00:38:32Costume, you say?
00:38:34I worked on that the whole way here.
00:38:37I love that you arrived in character.
00:38:39But why are you here right now?
00:38:42Kate called me.
00:38:43She said there was a costume party.
00:38:45I had to come.
00:38:46Oh, did she?
00:38:48Yeah.
00:38:48Okay.
00:38:49Well, that's great.
00:38:50No, it's just that the party doesn't start for another hour.
00:38:53Oh.
00:38:55I thought you said six.
00:38:56Huh?
00:38:57I did?
00:38:58Oh, I thought I said seven.
00:39:00I don't think so.
00:39:01Oh, I'm so sorry.
00:39:03I, uh, I meant seven.
00:39:05Oops.
00:39:07Oops.
00:39:07Carry on.
00:39:08Uh-huh.
00:39:09Yeah.
00:39:10Her.
00:39:10Come on in, m'lady.
00:39:16I regret the accent.
00:39:18No.
00:39:19I respected the commitment.
00:39:22Will you give me a minute?
00:39:23I have to talk to Kate real quick.
00:39:26Go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, ow.
00:39:29What?
00:39:30What are you doing?
00:39:31You didn't invite her to party.
00:39:32How do you know that?
00:39:33Because I saw the ring footage of you leaving a thousand messages.
00:39:36That is an invasion of privacy.
00:39:38You picked the one place on the entire property that's right in front of the camera.
00:39:42And what I saw dead, it was bone chilling.
00:39:45It was like watching a car accident in slow motion.
00:39:48I froze up.
00:39:49I didn't know what to say.
00:39:50It's because you like her.
00:39:51Oh, of course I like her.
00:39:52Have you seen her, Kate?
00:39:53She's smart and funny and beautiful.
00:39:55And she's great with kids.
00:39:57Why are you trying so hard to set us up?
00:40:00Because I am your sister.
00:40:01And I love you and I want you to be happy.
00:40:03Fine.
00:40:04I love you too.
00:40:05Get out there.
00:40:10Hey.
00:40:11Hi.
00:40:12It's so nice that your sister still lives in your family home.
00:40:15Yeah.
00:40:16She bought it for my dad when he retired to Arizona.
00:40:18Hmm.
00:40:20Well, tell him hi.
00:40:21Not that he'll remember me.
00:40:24Who couldn't forget you?
00:40:25Look what I found.
00:40:26Mind if I take a look?
00:40:27Go for it.
00:40:28Our yearbook.
00:40:29It's been a minute.
00:40:31Uh, uh, what?
00:40:33What?
00:40:34What is your quote?
00:40:36I'll spread my wings.
00:40:37I'll learn how to fly.
00:40:38I'll do what it takes to touch the sky.
00:40:41Kelly Clarkson.
00:40:42I'm really regretting that one now.
00:40:44Mm.
00:40:45Okay.
00:40:45Let's see yours.
00:40:47Certainty of death.
00:40:48Small chance of success.
00:40:50What are we waiting for?
00:40:52Gimli.
00:40:53Who's Gimli?
00:40:54What?
00:40:55Are you kidding?
00:40:55From Lord of the Rings?
00:40:57Brave warrior dwarf loyal stubborn.
00:41:00What?
00:41:00Hmm.
00:41:00I could see that.
00:41:02Okay.
00:41:03Nice burn.
00:41:05All right.
00:41:06Hope Newbury.
00:41:07Most popular.
00:41:08Smartest.
00:41:09Most talented.
00:41:10Most likely to succeed.
00:41:13Were you on the yearbook staff?
00:41:14That feels excessive.
00:41:16Okay.
00:41:18Ted Cooper.
00:41:19Most likely to report the weather at a mid-sized TV station.
00:41:24That is bizarrely accurate.
00:41:26Wow.
00:41:31Oh, look at these cuties.
00:41:35Still how we are to this day.
00:41:36Us against the world.
00:41:37You two seem close.
00:41:39Yeah, we are.
00:41:41Kate kind of pulled double duty as big sister and parent.
00:41:44Oh.
00:41:45Our mom left when we were young, so she really stepped up and helped raise me.
00:41:50To this day, she still blames me for her premature frown lines.
00:41:53Okay.
00:41:59You were cute in high school.
00:42:05I was?
00:42:08I mean, I think we might have gotten along given you drew a big red heart around my face.
00:42:16Is that, what, is that what that is?
00:42:18Yeah, that's what it is.
00:42:20Ooh.
00:42:23Why didn't you ask me out?
00:42:25Did you not see the superlatives page?
00:42:27I loved A.V. Club and science fair.
00:42:30It literally never occurred to me that a girl like you would be into a guy like me.
00:42:40Well, I...
00:42:42I would have...
00:42:46Really wishing we'd had this conversation when we were 18.
00:42:49Mm.
00:42:53Are you still?
00:42:57Still what?
00:42:59Into guys who love A.V. Club and science fair?
00:43:07Ted, can you get that?
00:43:09Oh, yeah.
00:43:11Let me grab my hat.
00:43:20Oh, Jacob Marley.
00:43:23Hi, everybody.
00:43:24Come on in.
00:43:25Drinks and snacks in the back.
00:43:27Dance floor is in the barn.
00:43:29Howdy.
00:43:30Ladies.
00:43:31Sure thing.
00:43:32Hi.
00:43:32Okay.
00:43:33Did you all drive in the same car?
00:43:35I'm one.
00:43:36Wow.
00:43:36Party bus.
00:43:37Here you go.
00:43:37One car.
00:43:38Here you go.
00:43:39Oh, oh.
00:43:41Oh, oh.
00:43:55Now this is a party.
00:43:58See what I mean, girl?
00:44:01Rook!
00:44:02Oh!
00:44:03Hey, wow.
00:44:04You look great.
00:44:05You look pretty cool yourself.
00:44:07Oh, thanks.
00:44:08Yeah.
00:44:08Hi, everyone.
00:44:09Ooh.
00:44:10Hee-hee.
00:44:12What is it like being the big sister to New York's most likable man?
00:44:18Exhausting.
00:44:22Is he always like this?
00:44:24Pretty much.
00:44:27He just always likes to see the good in the world, you know?
00:44:30Yeah.
00:44:31Well, it's admirable.
00:44:32I think I could use a little more of that in my life.
00:44:38Okay.
00:44:40Okay.
00:44:41Hi.
00:44:41Check out Tiny Tim tearing up the dance floor.
00:44:43I know.
00:44:43We were just saying.
00:44:47Who?
00:44:48Who even is he?
00:44:48Do you know him?
00:44:49Where is he from?
00:44:50He's from my office.
00:44:54Who's in his dick?
00:44:55Oh, my gosh.
00:44:56Oh, Tim.
00:44:57I don't think he needs that much.
00:45:00Nice and done!
00:45:02Whoa!
00:45:05All right, you two.
00:45:06It's time for you to get out on the dance floor
00:45:08and show Tim how it's done.
00:45:10I cannot.
00:45:11I've got to show Tim how it's done.
00:45:13You show Tim how it's done.
00:45:22Watch, I'll go low with it, too.
00:45:26I'll go real low and then I'll come back up.
00:45:27Yeah.
00:45:28Woo!
00:45:29Turn it to a slow song, turn it to a slow song.
00:45:41Shall we?
00:45:48This your first time dancing with a snowman?
00:45:51It is, yes.
00:45:53How is it going so far?
00:45:57Is this your first time dancing with a Scrooge?
00:45:59Weirdly enough, no.
00:46:04It's so long, long, long,
00:46:10Long run walk in the street yeah.
00:46:22Thank you, I had a really nice time tonight.
00:46:26Yeah, me too. Hey, I was thinking, um, if, um, never mind. I, I bet you, you probably got to
00:46:45get going.
00:46:46Well, I don't, I don't have to go this, like this very second. I mean, if there's, oh, you go.
00:46:54Wait. No, sorry. It, uh, it's, it's nothing. I can't wait. You sure? Yeah. Okay.
00:47:19Night, Dad. Night, Hope.
00:47:26Night, Hope.
00:47:29Night, Hope.
00:47:35Night, Hope.
00:47:37Night, Hope.
00:47:54I asked you something at the party, but I, um, chickened out.
00:48:00Night, Hope.
00:48:13That was the extent of my ASLs.
00:48:18Is that a yes?
00:48:18Yes, that was, um, that was a yes.
00:48:26Okay, so far we have a intimate trip to the scrapbooking store and Salisbury steak and bingo night. Do we
00:48:32have any other date suggestions?
00:48:33Don't limit yourself to Lackawanna. Maybe get out of town for the day.
00:48:38Get out.
00:48:39Oh, Ruth Mittens, you magnificent angel. You just gave me an idea.
00:48:51Hi.
00:48:53Hi.
00:48:53Hi. Wow.
00:48:54You cleaned up nicely.
00:48:56Oh, I, uh, I just, um, went with Christmas theme. You look nice, too.
00:49:03Thanks.
00:49:04You ready?
00:49:05Yeah.
00:49:06What are we doing?
00:49:07I thought we'd have a little, uh, fancy dinner at Chez Henry.
00:49:10Chez Henry?
00:49:11Mm-hmm.
00:49:12Oh, I should change.
00:49:13No, I'm just kidding with you. You're actually perfectly dressed for what we're gonna do.
00:49:17Okay.
00:49:17You're gonna love it.
00:49:19Oh.
00:49:20Ready.
00:49:20Yep. Okay.
00:49:23You're comfortable around horses, right?
00:49:26You're, you're joking, right?
00:49:41Oh.
00:49:44Oh.
00:49:47Oh.
00:49:48Greetings, fellow elves, and welcome to Escape from Santa's Workshop.
00:49:52Uh, my name is Brendan, and I, like you, I'm an elf who...
00:49:58Oh.
00:50:01Oh.
00:50:01Sorry.
00:50:02Uh, just got back to town.
00:50:04I was partying with my elf buddies all night.
00:50:06Didn't realize I was pulling a solo shift today.
00:50:08You're doing great, Brendan.
00:50:10Thanks, man.
00:50:11I've been working hard to get the toys built for Christmas, but Santa left without a toy.
00:50:18A toy for one of the nicest kids in the world.
00:50:20Your goal is to make it out of the workshop and use Christmas magic to get the toy into
00:50:26this child's living room before morning.
00:50:29You have an hour.
00:50:30If you need help, just say, Brendan, I need help.
00:50:33And I can give you a hint from the North Pole.
00:50:36Finally, Santa has a no phones in the workshop policy, so we ask that you leave him here.
00:50:44Santa's policy.
00:50:47The smartwatch.
00:50:49The smartwatch.
00:50:49And the smartwatch.
00:50:50Now Santa is a stickinger.
00:50:52Stickler.
00:50:53Ha!
00:50:54Exit out the back door, take a left.
00:50:56All right.
00:50:56Thanks, Brendan.
00:50:57You got it.
00:50:58Let's do this.
00:51:09Oh, okay.
00:51:13Santa's workshop certainly got an upgrade.
00:51:16Yeah.
00:51:17Definitely not warm, cozy holiday vibes.
00:51:19Can I sing it?
00:51:21Ha!
00:51:22Ha!
00:51:22Ha!
00:51:23Ha!
00:51:24Ha!
00:51:25Ha!
00:51:25Ha!
00:51:33Ha!
00:51:34I think I heard you scream.
00:51:36No, I don't.
00:51:36Nope.
00:51:37Don't know.
00:51:38Wow.
00:51:39Okay, I got boxes.
00:51:40Okay.
00:51:43We got some switches.
00:51:48Oh, elves.
00:51:50Lots of elves.
00:51:54Hey!
00:51:55We got a black light over here.
00:51:58Okay.
00:51:59They have some kind of security ID on here.
00:52:02Okay.
00:52:02Makes sense.
00:52:03Santa has a lot of top secret tech.
00:52:06The elves need clearance.
00:52:07Yeah.
00:52:07Makes total sense.
00:52:09Okay.
00:52:10There's arrows on the boxes.
00:52:12Okay.
00:52:12Let's think.
00:52:13Six elves.
00:52:14Six boxes.
00:52:16One toy sack.
00:52:18I don't know.
00:52:18Maybe the arrows are a misdirect.
00:52:21Oh, that's good.
00:52:22Wow.
00:52:24Hey, wait.
00:52:24Do yours have a barcode on the back?
00:52:26Me too.
00:52:27Maybe they need to be scanned?
00:52:29Black light.
00:52:30Black light.
00:52:3656.
00:52:37Ooh.
00:52:3822.
00:52:4184.
00:52:4256, 22, 84.
00:52:43It's gotta be a combination, right?
00:52:44It's gotta be a lock.
00:52:45Lock.
00:52:46Okay, let's look for a lock.
00:52:48If I were a lock, where would I be?
00:52:52Lock.
00:52:53Lock.
00:52:55Nice.
00:52:55Okay.
00:52:5756, 22, 84.
00:53:04Okay.
00:53:06You wanna reach him?
00:53:07No, I don't wanna reach him.
00:53:08Yeah, fair enough.
00:53:11Oh.
00:53:12A teddy bear.
00:53:14Not just any teddy bear.
00:53:16A Christmas present.
00:53:19Toy sack.
00:53:45Toy sack.
00:53:50Oh, okay.
00:53:52Keep your eyes peeled for clues.
00:53:58Brendan!
00:54:00No!
00:54:02Oh my gosh.
00:54:04Whoa.
00:54:05So this is how he delivers billions of presents in one night.
00:54:08Oh.
00:54:10Santa 5.0.
00:54:12Enter launch code.
00:54:15What was our code?
00:54:1556, 22, 84?
00:54:17Yep.
00:54:18Not it.
00:54:19Not it.
00:54:19All right.
00:54:19We are looking for a new launch code.
00:54:22Okay.
00:54:22We got this.
00:54:24Hey.
00:54:25The sleigh has a license plate.
00:54:26It says baggage.
00:54:28Huh.
00:54:29Okay.
00:54:30Any baggage?
00:54:31Well, there's a giant toy sack.
00:54:33That's a bag, right?
00:54:35Good point.
00:54:37Okay.
00:54:38Anything?
00:54:39No.
00:54:40There's nothing else in here.
00:54:43Wait a sec.
00:54:47Baggage.
00:54:49Okay, hear me out.
00:54:51What if they're not letters?
00:54:53What if they're musical notes?
00:54:56Mm-hmm.
00:54:57They're good.
00:54:58Yeah.
00:54:59Ooh, one problem.
00:55:01I can't read music.
00:55:03Can you?
00:55:04No.
00:55:05That's gonna be a bit of a stumbling block.
00:55:07Let me hop down.
00:55:08Do you think, I mean, as much as it hurts my ego,
00:55:11we ask for a little help?
00:55:15Brendan, we need a clue!
00:55:17Brendan, a little help, buddy!
00:55:24It's, uh...
00:55:25It's taking a sweet time.
00:55:29Five, four, three, two, one...
00:55:36Santa sleigh launch aborted!
00:55:38Christmas is canceled!
00:55:40Have a holly jolly failure!
00:55:43Wow.
00:55:44That was a little dramatic.
00:55:45Yeah!
00:55:47Do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do
00:55:51-do-do-do-do-do-do-do.
00:55:51Raid!
00:55:56Brendan!
00:55:58Brendan!
00:56:03You know, I could think of worse places to be trapped.
00:56:07Really?
00:56:08Yeah!
00:56:09I could think of better. Somewhere with food.
00:56:14Oh.
00:56:17Food, you say?
00:56:21You think this is funny?
00:56:23Yeah.
00:56:24We can't escape from an escape room. It's a little bit funny.
00:56:27We don't have any water.
00:56:29Or cell phones. Don't you have a promo first thing in the morning?
00:56:32Yeah.
00:56:32I've got a work I think we're within our rights to be, you know, a little upset.
00:56:38Yeah, but being upset isn't gonna help us get out of the room.
00:56:40So I'd rather count my blessings. Or inside.
00:56:43We have a very cozy place to sit down. Thank you, Slay.
00:56:46And my promo's not for 12 hours. We have plenty of time.
00:56:48Besides, I'm sure Brendan's gonna let us out any minute.
00:57:00Let's see. What have we got?
00:57:03Yep. And it's morning.
00:57:10Well, at least the, um, Slay is comfortable. You were right about that.
00:57:15Yeah. Company's not bad either.
00:57:20I wish I got to know you in high school.
00:57:24Yeah. At least we're getting to know each other now.
00:57:26Yeah?
00:57:27Mm-hmm.
00:57:28Then lay it on me. Give me a peek behind the curtain.
00:57:33Oh.
00:57:33Who is Ted Cooper?
00:57:35Oh, wow.
00:57:37Well, for starters, I am a codependent people pleaser.
00:57:41Go on.
00:57:42My therapist would tell you it is due to my mom leaving when we were young.
00:57:47My dad never quite recovering from that.
00:57:50And then my sister picking up his slack.
00:57:53And then me learning to make myself as small as possible so as to not create more work for the
00:57:57two of them.
00:58:00Upside is I'm fun at parties.
00:58:03How about you?
00:58:04Lay it on me. Listen, I don't know. I don't want the highlight reel. I want the baggage.
00:58:09Okay. Um, this last year was a nightmare.
00:58:13Moved back here. I lost my dad.
00:58:16And I go between saving lives and being two cats away from becoming a spinster.
00:58:23I'm also three inches taller than I'm comfortable with.
00:58:27Just three inches?
00:58:29Yeah.
00:58:32No, but seriously, I...
00:58:34I could never do what you do.
00:58:38But it must feel nice knowing that your job literally makes the world a better place.
00:58:50I think you're amazing, Hope.
00:58:53Is this how you pictured the date ending?
00:58:56Weirdly enough, this is exactly how I pictured the date ending.
00:59:04Uh, hey guys.
00:59:12Uh, so sorry about that.
00:59:15Um, as an apology for the whole accidental captivity thing, how about a 50% discount next time you come
00:59:21back?
00:59:21It's nice, Brendan.
00:59:23Mm-hmm.
00:59:24Good morning.
00:59:27Wow.
00:59:37Wow.
00:59:39Where have you been?
00:59:40Got stuck in an escape room all night.
00:59:42I hope.
00:59:42Yeah.
00:59:43This is not a time for jokes.
00:59:44For less than a minute.
00:59:44Not a joke. How's my hair?
00:59:46Yes, it's good. It's perfect. You look great, yeah.
00:59:48Break a leg.
00:59:48Yeah.
01:00:00Ted.
01:00:01Hello.
01:00:02You with us, buddy?
01:00:03Indeed I am, Ken.
01:00:04I am here live at the Lackawanna Community Center where there has never been a more beautiful morning.
01:00:18Thank you, Ted.
01:00:20And these local bakers are trying to set a state record for the largest gingerbread man in New York history.
01:00:26And why not a world record?
01:00:28Well, because the world record is over 32 feet tall, Ken, and we don't have the budget for that.
01:00:33So come on down and help raise money for the local children's hospital.
01:00:36I, for one, can't think of a more delicious way to raise money for a good cause.
01:00:40Can you?
01:00:43Reporting live from Lackawanna, I'm Ted Cooper.
01:00:46And we're clear. Thank you.
01:00:48That was great. I love you. I am going to kill you.
01:00:51Where were you?
01:00:51I mean, I am very happy, but you did not come home last night, and I want to hug you,
01:00:55and I want to strangle you.
01:00:56Okay.
01:00:57I have conflicting feelings.
01:00:58Yeah, I see that.
01:00:59Listen, I got stuck in an escape room. Like I said, I can't talk now. I love you, and we'll
01:01:03talk later.
01:01:06So, what are you doing with the rest of your day?
01:01:09Um, well, I have a shift. I've got to work till 6.
01:01:13Oof. Ouch.
01:01:14Well, how about I call you after you get off, and maybe we can grab a drink, or get stuck
01:01:21in another local establishment.
01:01:25Uh, we should be so lucky.
01:01:31Good morning, Hope.
01:01:35Good morning, Ted.
01:01:46Hey.
01:01:48Hey!
01:01:49Hey! Look who's home.
01:01:51Keys, lover boy. I got places to be.
01:01:53And I am going to take a long winter's nap.
01:01:57Wait. Quick reminder, you have one more promo this afternoon before the big event tomorrow.
01:02:01Yes, I will take a red share.
01:02:03Wait. Just don't get thrown in jail between now and then.
01:02:05No promises.
01:02:13That's Ted, isn't it?
01:02:15I mean...
01:02:17Yeah.
01:02:20Wait. You like him?
01:02:22I can't remember the last time I had this much fun.
01:02:25How many guys would take you to an escape room on our first date?
01:02:29Hmm?
01:02:30All right, Ted Cooper, you smooth operator.
01:02:33Mm-hmm.
01:02:34Wait, when are you seeing him again?
01:02:37Tonight.
01:02:39Well, okay.
01:02:40Well, guest dinner with me and the others is out of the question.
01:02:43Have fun with your plans.
01:02:44Okay.
01:03:08You, Ed?
01:03:09I said Chuck.
01:03:11I wasn't expecting a limo.
01:03:12Well, surprise, surprise.
01:03:14What's that?
01:03:15I'm taking the vibe in here, man.
01:03:17Why start a vibe for what I'm about?
01:03:18Crank those tunes back up, Ed.
01:03:20Right on, man!
01:03:20The miles of Hollywood.
01:03:22La, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la.
01:03:25Tears the season to be children.
01:03:28La, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la.
01:03:30So tomorrow, if you have plans, cancel them.
01:03:33If you have work, call in sick, and if you have a hot date, tell them it's not them, it's
01:03:37you.
01:03:38Because you'll be in Lackawanna at the Gingerbread Invitational.
01:03:41Back to you, Ken.
01:03:43Uh, thanks.
01:03:45Ted?
01:03:47Anything new?
01:03:48Because I'm not seeing any casts on body parts, or missing teeth, or any apparent symptoms of illness.
01:03:55I'm worried.
01:03:56Is everything okay?
01:03:58It's like I told you, Ken, it was only a matter of time before my Christmas bad luck turned around.
01:04:06That's not frosting.
01:04:31You'll be right back.
01:04:31Hello?
01:04:33Hello?
01:04:33Hi!
01:04:36Um, sorry, I was, uh, looking for Ted?
01:04:40Ted! He's with me! We're going to a Christmas rave!
01:04:48Uh, uh...
01:04:49It doesn't matter.
01:04:52You dropped your phone, Ted!
01:04:55My name's not Ted! It's Ted!
01:04:57And whose phone is this?
01:05:02Wait, another woman answered? You're telling me Ted Cooper's a player?
01:05:06Well, I mean, he doesn't seem like the kind of guy, but...
01:05:13Is he? Do you want me to track him down?
01:05:16Liam Neeson style.
01:05:17I have a very particular set of skills.
01:05:20Ugh, that won't be necessary.
01:05:22Is it too late to join you for dinner? I don't want to wait around here.
01:05:26Oh, of course.
01:05:31Have you seen my phone?
01:05:32No. Do you want me to call it?
01:05:34Yes, please.
01:05:41Do you hear it?
01:05:43No.
01:05:44It's ringing.
01:05:51Voicemail.
01:05:53Ugh.
01:05:56Hello?
01:05:57Yes.
01:05:58Okay, that's fine.
01:06:00Why don't you take me through the problem first?
01:06:03All right.
01:06:03Kate.
01:06:04Kate.
01:06:04What?
01:06:05Can I borrow the car real quick?
01:06:06Why?
01:06:07Because I told Hope that I'd call her and I don't want her to think I'm a flick.
01:06:09Okay.
01:06:10Okay, so is that...
01:06:11Hi.
01:06:11Is that a word call?
01:06:12Yes. Yes.
01:06:14Love you.
01:06:15I am so sorry about that.
01:06:17Yes, my phone has just been on the fridge lately.
01:06:20I'm so sorry.
01:06:22I'm so sorry.
01:06:36I'm so sorry.
01:06:38But I'm so sorry.
01:06:46So, that's a good idea.
01:06:48I'm so sorry.
01:06:48I'm so sorry.
01:07:14Mind if I borrow your phone?
01:07:16Are you really calling her this early?
01:07:18Yeah.
01:07:22Come on, Hope.
01:07:24Okay, so I have ordered the ultrasound, the x-ray, the blood work.
01:07:35She's not picking up.
01:07:36Well, Hope's a doctor. She's probably busy.
01:07:40Speaking of busy, I have to go.
01:07:43Goodbye.
01:07:44Wait, wait, wait. Am I ever thinking this whole thing?
01:07:46Because it did seem like we were really clicking.
01:07:47Ted, I'm sure whatever is going on, if anyone can work it out, it's you.
01:07:51But if you make me any later than I already am, I will hurt you in ways you can't imagine.
01:07:56Understood.
01:07:56Okay.
01:07:57See ya.
01:07:57Wait, wait, wait. How am I going to call Carth on my phone?
01:08:01Walk.
01:08:02Ah.
01:08:02Hmm.
01:08:03Whoa.
01:08:06Hug?
01:08:09No hug.
01:08:10Yeah, no hug. Okay.
01:08:11Bye, Ted.
01:08:12Bye.
01:08:14Bye.
01:08:14Have a great day.
01:08:17She can't say it back.
01:08:22Ted, we were trying to call you.
01:08:25Oh, I lost my phone.
01:08:26What's up?
01:08:27Well, the girls and I pitched in and, well, here.
01:08:33For me?
01:08:33Mm-hmm.
01:08:34Aw, thank you.
01:08:39No way.
01:08:42Aw, this is awesome.
01:08:46Aw, I got to pop this on right now.
01:08:49I'm part of the crew.
01:09:10Is everything okay, Ted?
01:09:13Seem a little less enthusiastic than normal, especially given that outfit.
01:09:18Keep going, girls.
01:09:20We'll catch up.
01:09:22I assure you, it's not the outfit.
01:09:24The outfit is incredible.
01:09:26It's hope.
01:09:27We were supposed to talk last night, but I lost my phone.
01:09:29So I went to her house and I left a note, but she never called.
01:09:33I'm just kind of spinning out, wondering if she's having second thoughts.
01:09:36Mm-mm.
01:09:37In life and in love, there will be so many situations where you get your wires crossed.
01:09:42Don't assume the worst.
01:09:45It's just like in the movies.
01:09:46Young couples are always breaking up because of some silly misunderstanding.
01:09:50Rock Hudson and Doris Day, Robert Redford and Jane Fonda, Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet.
01:09:57Yeah, they didn't break up.
01:09:57He died.
01:09:58Because they misunderstood how big that door really was.
01:10:03Don't fall into the same trap as everyone else.
01:10:06As Cher would say, snap out of it.
01:10:10You will talk to her again soon.
01:10:13I know it.
01:10:14Thanks, Ruth.
01:10:15Thanks.
01:10:33Hello?
01:10:34Uh, hey, is, uh, is this Hope?
01:10:37Ted?
01:10:38No, Ed.
01:10:39I found this phone on my ride this morning.
01:10:41I'm just calling all the recent callers trying to figure out who it belongs to.
01:10:45So wait, you've had Ted's phone since last night?
01:10:49Ted Cooper?
01:10:51I remember him.
01:10:52Sweet dude.
01:10:53I gave him a ride yesterday.
01:10:55Tell you what, if you can give me his address...
01:10:57Oh, I've done it again.
01:11:00Oh, what?
01:11:01What did you do?
01:11:03What did you do?
01:11:03That thing.
01:11:04The thing that I do.
01:11:06Oh, I gotta go find Ted.
01:11:10So what should I do with Ted's phone?
01:11:12Yeah, yeah, I'll call you back.
01:11:14Hello?
01:11:15Hello?
01:11:24Hey.
01:11:25There you are.
01:11:27Where have you been?
01:11:29What are you wearing?
01:11:30Never mind.
01:11:31That doesn't matter right now.
01:11:32Well, actually, that's a whole thing.
01:11:34That's a lot.
01:11:35Is everything all right?
01:11:36No.
01:11:37I mean, it wasn't.
01:11:41I called you last night, and this girl, she picked up the phone and she said she was with
01:11:46you, and I, you know, I didn't know how to take that.
01:11:50I just, I realized that, you know, it's not like we're exclusive or anything.
01:11:54I mean, we've just been on one day.
01:11:56I was just like, that's not cool.
01:11:59Yeah.
01:11:59That doesn't seem like something Ted would do, but then you didn't call me, so I...
01:12:05Did you get my note?
01:12:07No, I...
01:12:08Yeah, I left a note for you on your front door.
01:12:10Well, a driver called and said that he had your phone.
01:12:14Ed has my phone?
01:12:16Of course you know the driver.
01:12:18Listen, Ted, I was so mad at myself for sitting around waiting for you to call that I just,
01:12:24I, um, I gave up, and I do that sometimes.
01:12:30I do, and I shouldn't, and I'm sorry.
01:12:39What's so funny?
01:12:40Ruth, she called this.
01:12:41It's, it's a classic misunderstanding.
01:12:44When you thought I got the note, and then I didn't call you, were, were you worried?
01:12:49Yeah, yeah, I was worried that you were having second thoughts, but now I'm just, I'm glad
01:12:52that we cleared it up.
01:12:53Well, no, I'm glad that we cleared it up.
01:12:55I, I, I think I'm just trying to talk about, you know, what we were feeling.
01:13:00Okay, yeah, I, I get that.
01:13:03Do you get that?
01:13:08Are, are you upset that I'm not upset?
01:13:13Well, no, I, I, well, now maybe I think I'm upset that you never get upset.
01:13:20I, I get upset.
01:13:21Do you?
01:13:22Because I, I feel like you're happy all the time.
01:13:24No, but even if I was, I mean, is there anything wrong with that?
01:13:27No, it's just, I, I think it makes it hard for me to understand you sometimes.
01:13:33Okay.
01:13:33Um, what, uh, what, what don't you understand?
01:13:38For one, why wouldn't you take the job in Buffalo?
01:13:42Well, that, see, that's complicated, right?
01:13:44Because Jerry gave you this great opportunity when no one else would.
01:13:47I know, I know, it's the job, it's the, the cookie, it's the mayo on the burger, it's, it's, it's
01:13:51everything.
01:13:52I don't, I don't know why you would give up what you want just to make everybody else happy.
01:13:57I don't like being an imposition.
01:13:58Advocating for yourself isn't an imposition.
01:14:03Ted, I like so much about you.
01:14:05I do, I really do.
01:14:06I just, I think, you know, when life gets hard and does all the time in my line of work,
01:14:12I, I'm, I'm just not sure that I can be with someone that keeps it so surface all the time.
01:14:20If you, uh, I, if you think I just bury my head in the sand,
01:14:26I don't think you really know me at all.
01:14:29Then help me know you.
01:14:30I think there's so much more to Ted than you let any of us see.
01:14:37Merry Christmas, Ted.
01:14:42I hope, wait.
01:15:08You seem uncharacteristically positive.
01:15:13Hey, man, we already hit our fundraising goal.
01:15:16We did it.
01:15:17What?
01:15:17You did it.
01:15:19Congratulations.
01:15:22Are you okay?
01:15:25Yeah.
01:15:28No.
01:15:31Hope and I had a fight.
01:15:33Wow.
01:15:34You got into a fight.
01:15:36I didn't know you had it in you.
01:15:38Oh.
01:15:39Hope fought.
01:15:40You kind of just stood there and took it.
01:15:43Oh.
01:15:45Walk with me.
01:15:50I'm going to say something nice to you, but don't get used to it because it is only going to
01:15:54happen once.
01:15:55Okay.
01:15:56You deserve everything good in life, but you hold yourself back.
01:16:02You need to go after what you want.
01:16:04It might be too late.
01:16:06That's something people say when they're scared.
01:16:09You're going to be okay.
01:16:11You're going to tell her how you feel, and you'll be back annoying me in no time.
01:16:15That's against the world.
01:16:16That's against the world.
01:16:19Hey, what you've done here is incredible.
01:16:23Have you taken a moment to appreciate that?
01:16:25Yeah.
01:16:27No, dude.
01:16:28I'm serious.
01:16:29Look around you.
01:16:30This took a Herculean effort, and you crushed it.
01:16:34Soak it in.
01:16:36It's moments like these that make you almost worth the frown lines.
01:16:40Almost.
01:16:41Almost.
01:16:42Almost.
01:16:42Almost.
01:17:03So, um, that's what you're wearing to the Gingerbread Invitational Fair?
01:17:07Oh, I'm not going.
01:17:08Got it.
01:17:09Okay.
01:17:10You told me on the phone you don't want to run into Ted.
01:17:13That's right.
01:17:14Then why are you here?
01:17:16Because I think you're being ridiculous.
01:17:18Hope, let me get this straight.
01:17:19You're mad at him for not being mad at you, right?
01:17:22Yeah.
01:17:23He's happy.
01:17:24All the time.
01:17:26Oh, no.
01:17:27A handsome, gainfully employed man in a good mood.
01:17:29I think he's just trying to impress you.
01:17:31He's trying to impress everyone.
01:17:32So he cares about everyone.
01:17:34How terrible.
01:17:37Look, I have watched you go through some really hard times.
01:17:42And I wanted to help, but I don't know how.
01:17:44And then here comes Ted Cooper.
01:17:47And he has put a smile on your face ever since he came back into town.
01:17:52Hope, that's a beautiful thing.
01:17:55What are you scared of?
01:17:57I've just lost a lot.
01:18:03Starting to feel like everybody leaves.
01:18:06And maybe, maybe it's me.
01:18:14Hope, I only think it's you if you leave him on the other side of the city.
01:18:20Fight for him.
01:18:30I'm here in Lackawanna, where the Gingerbread Invitational is officially underway.
01:18:35The giant gingerbread man behind me will soon be measured to determine whether or not it
01:18:40has set a state record for the largest gingerbread man in New York history.
01:18:45Until then, I'll be here hanging out with members of my hometown discussing the art of baking,
01:18:50Lackawanna, and of course, Christmas.
01:18:52Go get him.
01:18:53Okay.
01:18:54You got it.
01:18:54I know, I know, I know.
01:18:55Let's talk to some folks, shall we?
01:18:57You too.
01:18:57Oh, come on.
01:18:58Dressed to the nines.
01:18:59What is it that you love about Christmas?
01:19:02Not going up there?
01:19:04No, I hate crowds.
01:19:05Yeah, me too.
01:19:07Last time I braved a crowd like this was the Aeros tour.
01:19:09You went to the Aeros tour?
01:19:11Oh, I wouldn't have missed it.
01:19:13Oh.
01:19:14Well, hi.
01:19:15I'm Sydney.
01:19:16Brandon.
01:19:17Hi.
01:19:18Hi.
01:19:20Let's see who I...
01:19:20Yes, you.
01:19:21What is it that you love about Christmas?
01:19:23Oh, I like Christmas because of the presents.
01:19:26And my grandma and grandma come to town.
01:19:28And because I like presents.
01:19:29I think you said presents twice.
01:19:32I like presents.
01:19:33I see you do.
01:19:34Well, I hope you get everything you hope for this year.
01:19:37Who else?
01:19:41Ma'am.
01:19:42How about you?
01:19:45Yes.
01:19:46You.
01:19:47Oh, no.
01:19:48Oh, come on.
01:19:49Don't be shy.
01:19:51Come on.
01:19:56Hi.
01:19:57Uh.
01:19:57Hey.
01:19:57What is it that you are hoping for this Christmas?
01:20:04Um.
01:20:06World peace.
01:20:08Mm-hmm.
01:20:08Seems like a good one.
01:20:11Sure.
01:20:12A, you know, goodwill to everyone.
01:20:17Yeah.
01:20:18Goes without saying.
01:20:19Yeah.
01:20:19And, um, maybe a conversation that's not on air.
01:20:28Well, it, uh, sounds like the perfect time to throw it back to you in the studio, Ken.
01:20:34And we're clear.
01:20:37Hi.
01:20:37Hi.
01:20:39Oh, it's good to see you.
01:20:41Can I go first?
01:20:44I'm aware that I am chronically optimistic and that I bright side every situation.
01:20:52But I do get sad, and I do get angry, and I can do better at showing that.
01:20:58And you were right.
01:20:59I don't advocate for myself or fight for what I want nearly as much as I could or should.
01:21:06But I can do better.
01:21:08And I, I, I will do better.
01:21:12Starting with you.
01:21:16I took the job in Buffalo.
01:21:18You did?
01:21:21Yeah.
01:21:22It's a great opportunity and, um, happens to be much closer to the girl I like.
01:21:28That's good news.
01:21:29Yeah?
01:21:30Yeah.
01:21:31What did your producers and corning say?
01:21:35I don't know.
01:21:37I didn't ask.
01:21:46Coming back in three, two, one.
01:21:49I think it's one.
01:21:51We're live.
01:21:52We're...
01:21:53Ted.
01:21:53Ted, we're live.
01:21:59Hey, it's Ted.
01:22:00Come on.
01:22:02Oh, my God.
01:22:04Oh, my God.
01:22:05Oh, my God.
01:22:05Oh, my God.
01:22:06Oh, my God.
01:22:11Lights in the windows.
01:22:13Ted gave me odds of 10,001.
01:22:16I'm rich.
01:22:18Oh.
01:22:20I'm going to have to sell my boat.
01:22:24Ted, Ted, we're mine.
01:22:30Woo!
01:22:33Oh.
01:22:34Yeah.
01:22:38Best Christmas ever.
01:22:40If you haven't already done so, please consider donating to the Lackawanna Children's Hospital.
01:22:46I can't think of a more worthy cause this holiday season.
01:22:50From Lackawanna, I'm Ted Hooper.
01:22:53No, I'm not.
01:22:55Just got me flustered.
01:22:57From Lackawanna, I'm Ted Cooper.
01:22:59Merry Christmas.
01:23:01And we're clear.
01:23:02Oh, thank you.
01:23:04Honestly, thank goodness.
01:23:10That was a professional first for me.
01:23:15Oh.
01:23:17I guess my Christmas bad luck is finally behind me.
01:23:21Boy pushed me up.
01:23:22I look forward to learning to all the other students.
01:23:26I don't know.
01:23:26Oh, God.
01:23:32I look forward to reading the book.
01:23:37I look forward to reading this book.
