00:30the last few weeks have been really difficult and set us back quite a bit with with low recovery
00:37um low ounces an hour and lots of hours and lost production and just being a general pain in the

00:46parker schnabel is ready for a new chapter in his season and is launching an
00:52all-out blitz to hit his 10 000 ounce goal by getting over 600 ounces this week we've got
01:01four plants back up and running now which is really good um we've got gg the golden goose running the
01:09new plants awesome you know gg is uh is a really nice addition to the sluicing fleet and so that's
01:17you know hopefully gonna put us over the top because it does run a bit more yardage than
01:21any of the other plants on the mine site with dominion creek firing on all cylinders
01:27parker's relying on his other claim ken and stewart's run by foreman mitch blasky
01:34to be the difference maker this week
01:38just like spread really thin and you know mitch has done an incredible job without having a ton of
01:48equipment well right now i'm in the 550 here at ken's loading rock trucks and we are barely keeping up
01:55with the rock sand
01:58wash plant roxanne is running all out putting pressure on mitch's two rock truck drivers to stay ahead of the
02:06pay pile here at ken's is all about yardage uh the ground here in cut two isn't real high quality
02:15so
02:16we got to get through the volume and in order to do that i need you know as many trucks
02:20down here as i can
02:21get you know we've been pushing everything since the start of the season here everybody's getting tired
02:31yeah so mitch is pretty frustrated right now we need some support like they want us to get all this

04:26neutral as fast as you can because the last thing we want this cab to roll here yeah copy that

05:04man dude that a stay smoked the a state holds the front axle suspension system together
05:16i'm just limping this truck back to dominion you know i've just lost 50
05:21of my truck and crew the pay pile's getting low i need trucks rolling
05:42it's going on uh unfortunately this one here it was completely shot
05:49uh this a stay bushing is kind of brought out and i'm a little concerned just because like
05:56this plate is completely dropped
06:02one two three four five broken bolts this is a nightmare those broken bolts are two inches inside
06:17of that hole
06:20the a40 rock truck has a front suspension axle stay that keeps the front axle aligned when moving on
06:28uneven ground
06:29it's made up of two shock absorbers and two spherical bushings all bolted together to the frame of the
06:38truck but five bolts have broken off inside its housing
06:43to get them out holes will need to be drilled into the bolts so an extractor tool can fit inside
06:50and
06:51unscrew them then the a stay can be pulled apart and new parts installed allowing the truck to be driven
06:59safely every hour we're not moving material is uh putting us behind i get that dude but i think
07:06the fastest thing to do is just we just fix this but we don't we can't give you a spare
07:09right now i
07:10mean i don't i don't have a spare available here there's no spares around here man nothing no tyson's
07:16not going to give up any trucks well maybe i'll just go take one i think i think you should

07:21gonna have to figure something out because otherwise we'll be turning off wash plant

09:39this valhalla cut and when we got to the bottom you know right above pay we got the worst news
09:43basically at least 20 feet of clay on top of that and we do not have the time this year

09:48it so we had to abandon that and uh move on and it's uh so it's a that's a big
09:53one that's a big up
09:54rick ness is licking his wounds after spending a million dollars on his valhalla cut
10:01he hit a clay layer blocking his path to the pay dirt rick doesn't have enough time to break through
10:08it this year and now he's heading back to another spot he abandoned earlier this season
10:17we've got no choice now we've got to return to vegas valley we've got uh pay dirt we know it's

10:22we know it's got a lot of gold we still got a lot of work to do to make it

10:29last year rick's vegas valley cut saved his season paying out nearly 2.1 million dollars

10:44seven weeks ago rick and his crew tried to return to the hot spot

12:23creating more space for their trucking crew but there's a block of thawing permafrost overhanging

16:21the indian river and son mike's trommel running 24 7 on paradise hill but last week tony stumbled spending
16:31four million dollars on a property he can't mine so the whole thing among the floors the license there
16:39that is a mess so we got to sort that out uh but you know there's other places we can
16:44go you're not
16:45gonna give up that easy to bring in even more gold tony wants son mike to dial up his production
16:54i think we better give mike a challenge on day get him to open up the hester cut
17:02last year we left the hester cut behind and we're well on our way of making the same mistake
17:09i would really like to go in there and at least get a chunk out then you know at some
17:14point we'll have
17:14at least something just loose there oh my god better days had worse now why not put some effort
17:39in the hester cut let's start with a plan of pumping the water out first mike
17:44putting the pipe in yep and then we'll take it from there it'll be worth the effort there's no
17:51question about that good stuff okay good enough first we need to move them old dredge boilers out of
17:58the way that's when the dredges used to come around here whoa what the was that
18:12five years ago tony discovered two old timer dredge boilers at the hester cut that's really big huh
18:23wow that has to be cold enough from 1913 until the 1960s the old timers dredged the hunker valley for
18:34gold and on one legendary day they pulled in 800 ounces i'm excited about this to be honest with you
18:43tony tony thinks they abandoned the dredge at his hester cut leaving behind a pocket of rich virgin ground
18:53if i'm correct then there is no other piece on hunker virgin ground left as big as this
19:00but the spot has been tony's perennial end of season nemesis it's full of water
19:12talk about a waste of time
19:16now he's determined to conquer the cut last year we had troubles with the water running out of the
19:22bank so that was kind of up i was just thinking when we start digging it out you start with
19:26the
19:26wall first of anything because then if anything slumps down we don't have to worry about it no more
19:30we'll be taking this side out down here we'll be long away all that all the way along yeah because
19:37the slope is yeah you know yes so we got all the toys to do it with the biggest thing
19:45is get started
19:47because there is a little money in this hole so let's get into get started before he can pump out
19:55the water tony needs to remove the old dredge boilers then make the hillside safe from sloughing
20:02into the cut by digging it back and trucking the mud out wouldn't hurt if it would give mike a
20:09hand
20:10with it anyway but i like doing these hotball things yeah well it was not my first review so to
20:18speak
20:19we're going to get them boilers out of the way i'm going to kick this one over the bank
20:28well that's nothing spectacular let me do that again just when you want something to tumble down

20:39that make for a whale better sure now doesn't no skill required for that one wasn't perfect
20:46put the other over there too so now to be sure the boilers on the hillside down there start digging
20:58it out you know you gotta have a plan we're gonna put trucks on this ledge so you want it

21:15he's gonna have to clean it off a bit level it off so the trucks can get up to him
21:19flat
21:19but then what i would like to do zach is back them up in here yeah okay sounds good
21:26with a stable ledge the trucks can start hauling the mud out hopefully it all goes smooth and then
21:34yeah i'll be happy but if it is uh consistent then no i really ain't gonna be happy
21:53good job done wall dug back now mike and his crew can focus on draining the cut

25:04five broken bolts inside the a-stay housing i'm just finishing up here trying to get this last bolt out
25:17once i get a hole through it i should be able to tap an extractor through it and try to
25:22take it out

25:43i finally got these broken bolts out with the final bolt out janko and taylor can now separate
25:50the a-stay and remove the worn parts so we need to lift up this front end of the truck

25:59to split the a-stay from the frame and then get it pounded out and get the parts put back

26:07just trying to get this thing right on the tow hooks to lift it
26:13this a-stay should start separating yeah there we go
26:20okay hopefully this thing will just fly out of here
26:26beauty we got these and now i'm ready to install them everything's all cleaned up ready to go
26:41so this is going to push this bushing into this housing as you can see it's going up nice and
26:58easily now

28:29parker and tony probably have the bulk of it if i'm being honest i mean they both have uh tons

28:35ground and they're making a fortune i've seen a lot of people come and go since i've been here and
28:43not a whole lot of people stay somehow i've managed to stay for 13 years
28:48rick is heading to the hunker creek turnoff which leads to some of the biggest gold mines in the klondike
28:58i've only been to this spot once before it's uh look at this stuff look at that money to burn
