10:03he won the 100 meter yard dash for the ncaa championships in 72
10:18he had good speed but on the football field he was probably a lot faster he would be if you
10:22find them at o'clock even modern sprinters are only about 11 100ths of a second faster than cliff
10:35branch was in 1974 branch had a 99 yard touchdown catch in 1983 against the redskins
10:49he was 30 he's probably the oldest 99 yard touchdown scorer he's five years old that's
10:57curtis jordan number 22 running behind him 29 year old player and he can't even keep up with cliff
11:03branch that was cliff branch at 35 now how fast was cliff branch at 25
11:16if you're talking about pure speed he's way too low on the list great speed but not the kind that
11:21was all inspiring um willy gulf definitely belongs there he was fast would scare the daylights out of
11:28corners he absolutely deserves a spot on this list perhaps higher but too often if you were a bears
11:39fan he made you feel a little sick in the belly because he dropped perfect passes
11:45split end willy gulf is an exciting weapon used mostly for kickoff returns look at that speed
11:51before the pros our number six was both an explosive college player and a world-class sprinter
11:58talking like jesse owens he was out there like you know one of the the top-notch beasters he would
12:05have been on the 80 olympics had the united states not boycotted that year was on the bobsled team so
12:12this guy was like ridiculously well-rounded it's a big difference between running track and playing
12:17wide receiver in the nfl willy gulf was one of the few guys who could make that transition
12:31as chicago's first round draft pick in 1983 gulf brought a new dimension to the ground and pound bears
12:46willy gulf was the only viable pass catcher for those mighty chicago bears of the mid-80s and on
12:52a team that had walter payton on a team that had other pieces to it offensively he provided that
12:58balance willy gulf is not the first name that you think of obviously with that team of superstars
13:03he was probably one of like the biggest unsung heroes of that team it's worth noting if you go
13:08back and look at the big games that the bears played and he did have a knack for getting behind
13:13the defense once or twice a game and he did score some touchdowns in big games for them
13:26willy gulf was fast um he wasn't a great receiver his hands were awesome and apparently he and uh
13:36mcmahon in jim mcmahon's book there was a little uh a little tension he had uh worn out his welcome
13:43in chicago now for the second act of willy gulf's career
13:56that was the golden age of the aldeos vertical offense where we're going downfield we're throwing
14:01bombs he wanted the ball thrown deep and willy gulf in his prime may have been the fastest
14:07if you don't stop the ball you don't stop the ring even in retirement gulf hasn't stopped running
14:19look at the there's masters track and field for older track and field stars really gulf still
14:24dominates his times still like like something that if you went out and did a 40 yard dash in
14:28the combine he wouldn't be one of the five slowest guys that's guaranteed
14:32and now the number five fastest player of all time bo jackson ah yeah trying to get around the left
14:40side there's too much of humanity there he reverses coming back to the right what made bo a great athlete
14:51wow it's a logical play it's a good race will anybody catch it but where do you start

15:41seattle after linebacker brian the boss bosworth dished him in the media he stole brian bosworth's
15:50manhood at the goal line the best bo jackson ever is the touchdown where he runs forever and then runs

17:17growing up in missouri i saw bo jackson destroy the chiefs on like a yearly basis

17:35jackson was an nfl cultural icon his legend has almost become mythical
17:42you can tell me he's the first x-men character i'd be like yeah he's pretty fast he's the one

17:47speedy and you can't see him when he moves and in the emerging video game world he was simply
17:54unstoppable unstoppable unstoppable you cannot stop bo jackson

18:04you can pitch it to bo jackson and you sweep left and you spin him around and running right up

18:55what's up football world 84 here when i think of randy moss three words come to mind
19:00the nfl was so unprepared
19:30for randy moss's combination of size and speed that the vikings were actually able to run a play
19:37over and over again called randy go and get it this guy is amazing the camera would follow the
19:44ball and as it went up we just start going randy until it landed in his hands we knew it
19:52was going
19:53him anytime the ball went above the plane of the screen he was the freakiest dude i think i've ever
20:10seen they call me the freak man his speed just scared the hell out of people don't be scared of

20:15gonna bite you i'm just gonna hurt you the moment when you realized he really was freakish as an
20:20athlete was the game he had on thanksgiving at dallas in 98. he just destroyed the cowboys i think
20:32he had only had three catches that day but all of them were for at least 50 yards our number

20:51even when he was with the patriots and he's 65 years old he's got a beard longer than

21:14i don't know if i put him in the top 10. to me randy moss was an incredible receiver
21:19a first ballot hall famer but not a top 10 burner i mean if you look at him he's already
21:26down the field
21:27so how fast can you be to run the extra 20 yards moss deserves the spot on our list just
21:34look at the
21:35tape watching a secondary as they lined up against randy they would be backed off sometimes you know
21:4210 yards with the corner and sometimes 25 with the safety they really played an awful randy moss and he
21:49is still outrun both guys it's very hard to read how fast a guy like randy moss is actually running
21:59so fluid i mean a guy looked like he wasn't even breaking a sweat randy moss could be the fastest
22:05player in the nfl it wasn't so much off the line of scrimmage as it was once he got going
22:11there are guys that are quicker at the line of scrimmage than randy moss was once he got into that

22:38he's just phenomenal he's prime time he's not above bob haze or uh daryl green

23:04tell me who else could race down the sidelines with the football with other people angling over
23:12to try to stop him while showboating and the deon shuffle follows the last thing you ever wanted deon

25:24him off and goes right to the airport he should be number one on a list of the nfl's best

25:33that jerry curl has to be heavy i think the secret to deon sanders speed is his activate the jerry
25:40curl juice coming down with the sweat i'm pretty sure like that that had to be a problem i'm pretty
25:45sure he didn't address it because he was you know worried about his appearance but i couldn't do a
25:51jerry curl deon would play with a couple chains on and the jerry curl and i think he probably had
25:57sunglasses in there as well and he was still dustin fools the number two fastest player of all time bob

26:14fastest man in the world dance runs like an express train faster than a speeding bullet and that was bob
26:21hayes but with bob hayes bob hayes is a football player who just happens to be the world's fastest
26:28living human hayes goes down in his chief as a trailblazer was ahead of his time was probably that
26:34first unique burner hayes had the race in his pocket he left the starting blocks hayes was the only athlete
26:41to win both an olympic gold medal and the super bowl ring with the dallas cowboys they were a team
26:48that thought outside the box before the rest of the league even knew there was a box they dragged
26:54for bob hayes feeling that he could be a dynamic wide receiver and in fact he was a wide receiver

27:42the greatest deep threat the game has ever known growing up a giants fan you watch bob hayes and you
27:49feared every single time he touched the ball that he was going you know 75 yards pro football has not
27:56eroded his olympic speed in fact hayes claims that every year he gets even faster
28:04in fact in 1970 and 71 he led the league with an astonishing average of 25 yards per catch
28:12considering those numbers and that yards per catch average
28:18today we would be saying greatest ever the greatest we've ever seen
28:24i saw they are safely over but he came back in
28:31the game ultimately hayes reached number two on our list because of his impact on the game
28:37you always talk about players who revolutionized the game that was bob hayes he made defenses adjust
28:43that's the thing i like about hayes called the zone defense the zone defense was installed in football
28:49because bullet bob hayes was faster than any defensive back that you could put on him so they had to
28:53put a
28:54his own matchup in the corners played off of him so far he basically invented the quick screen
29:02now you're talking about innovation so you're talking about speed transcending the game just
29:07between the lines but also in the coaches minds that goes a long way
29:16we should be number one who's faster than bob hayes i was a world's fastest human he's number one
29:23there's no doubt bob hayes is bullet bob hayes is number one who's faster than him
29:27what he did back then that he should probably be number one not number two number two this is hysterical
29:35his speed obviously was a thing that got him into the nfl it's the thing that made him a hall

29:42unfortunately hayes passed away before he was finally voted in
29:47i'm sorry it took so long for bob hayes to get in the pro football thing because there's not many
29:53players you can say changed the game when he played and it still played that way today

30:09darryl green you should have known darryl green um yeah i couldn't argue that oh come on i mean how
30:16many gold males going gal green have bullet bob should be number one for it
30:21they gotta sway on the list they're gonna sway on the this man not darryl green
30:28two things were true of darryl green throughout his entire career one he was always the fastest
30:33guy in the league and two it felt like he was always the oldest guy in the league
30:38darryl green is number one on our list because he was so fast for so long forever
30:51i just don't get this guy i mean i i was with him my rookie year he was like 48

32:19chasing dorsett he runs right past them and catches him from behind dorsett gets up and looks like
32:26what wait wait what what just happened only one man on the field but catching daryl green
32:32the world-class spinner from texas a.i i had a run when i broke i knew he was coming
32:42i said i know he's back there somewhere and he called me
32:49you catch me you catch me i'm never i'm never running looking over my shoulder looking back that's
32:55not me his signature play is he should have he could have stiff-armed daryl green into the dust
33:02but you know turn against the bears
33:23he's in his ribs and still did that
33:30that's some speed right there because he's probably running at 60 percent at that point
33:35and still nobody could catch it

34:39bullet bob hayes when both of them were in the front that would have settled the argument and
34:48that would have been a sight to behold
