Manon des Sources (1986)

Years after her father Jean’s death, Manon lives as a shepherdess in the Provençal hills. She discovers that the Soubeyrans—Papet and Ugolin—blocked the spring that ruined her father’s farm. Manon blocks the village’s water supply in retaliation, exposes the crime, and watches Ugolin unravel with guilt. Papet, learning that Jean was his own son (Manon’s father), is devastated by the revelation and dies, leaving Manon to marry Bernard and start anew.
