00:07Tamara Thomas, formerly of Birmingham, was found guilty of gross negligence manslaughter following the death of her 12-year-old
00:15son Joshua in 2022.
00:18The court heard he showed symptoms of severe diabetic ketoacidosis for several hours before help was sought,
00:25but emergency services were only called after his lips turned white.
00:30The boy's father, Damien Thomas, was cleared of manslaughter, but convicted alongside her of child cruelty.
00:36Police say medical evidence showed Joshua's death was preventable.
00:40Both parents will be sentenced in June.
