02:20is that they're getting someone in a TV drama to play the part of the man who inspired the creation

02:30So there's a real, is there a real person called James Bond?

02:33He was an American ornithologist.
02:34He wrote a book called Birds of the West Indies.
02:37And Ian Fleming had it above his desk in his house that he built for himself in Jamaica.
02:41And the story goes, he was trying to think of a really simple, blunt name for his character,
02:48and he looked across his books and thought, James Bond, that would work well.

02:52And I was commissioned to write Miss Marple, The Caribbean Mystery, where she goes to the Caribbean.
02:59And the producer said, we try and, if we can, work in a real-life character into these stories.
03:04That's why we would like you to write it, because could you work Ian Fleming into the story?
03:08So I write a scene where there's a talk being given by an ornithologist,
03:12and Ian Fleming turns up to the talk.

03:14And the producer said to me, well, Charlie, why don't you come and play James Bond?
