00:00I got a text about a cat that had been crying for hours underneath this dumpster.
00:07When I got there, he was non-stop vocalizing. He was clearly in distress.
00:17Nothing wasn't quite right.
00:20But I'm gonna work on securing her first and then we'll find that out later.
00:25He was very emaciated and there was something odd about the way he was holding himself.
00:30As if he couldn't get comfortable.
00:32Oh, are you just going right in?
00:35Okay, she's like, my ride's here.
00:42I managed to secure him and later we went to the ER.
00:47There, vets confirmed he had a severely broken pelvis.
00:58The cost for Fern's pelvic surgery was staggering but he couldn't survive without it.
01:05Afterwards, Fern was supposed to start walking within just a few days but those days passed and
01:11he had zero progress.
01:13He couldn't move or stand or be touched without pain and so we rushed Fern to the hospital for a
01:20second time. After days of tests, his vets discovered the pain he was experiencing was
01:26from a rare but treatable arthritis condition. We immediately started treatment and within just
01:32two days, Fern was walking again.
01:39Fern's now nine weeks post-surgery and he's doing great. He's running, he's playing, he's gaining weight.
01:46His whole journey feels like a miracle. Fern's only one year old and now he has his whole life ahead
01:54of him to enjoy. Now all he needs is a forever home.
01:58Fern is a pre-manned chemist and I'm really happy, he's playing, he's playing for a long time.
01:58I'll be there for you, I believe.
01:58I'm ready for you.
02:00You know, the very first time I will be playing, I believe.
02:03I feel a happy podcast.
02:04I never miss you, my love.
