00:02For over 22 years, A Place in the Sun has been helping couples find their dream homes abroad.
00:07You're getting a bit of a tingly feeling, aren't you?
00:10Loving it, loving it.
00:12Creating hundreds of happy households across the world.
00:15Oh, it's gorgeous, isn't it?
00:16Beautiful.
00:17Shall we do it?
00:18Look, we're all welling up here.
00:20In this series, we'll be revisiting some of them to find out what happened next.
00:25Can I get a high five?
00:26Yeah.
00:27Oh, yeah.
00:29Today, Lee Juggernaut is playing a round in Merthia with Kate and Wayne, who he helped buy a property two
00:35years ago.
00:37Yeah, that was cracking.
00:39Well done.
00:41You're the star.
00:42Call me the new Tiger Woods.
00:44Yeah, that's it.
00:45Yeah?
00:46While Laura Hamilton is heading to the Tarn-et-Garonne region of central France to catch up with Keith and
00:50Neil,
00:51two friends who she enjoyed house hunting with nearly three years ago.
00:55Hey, good to see you.
00:57Hi, guys.
00:57So good to see you.
00:58It's been, what, three years?
01:00Almost.
01:01Yeah.
01:01Yeah.
01:16We're so familiar with Mercia's golden beaches, but check out these insane vistas just an hour's drive away from the
01:23coast.
01:24Plus, riding one of these bad boys is so much fun.
01:28With great variety and excellent value for money, it's no wonder Kate and Wayne chose this part of Spain to
01:34find their dream holiday home.
01:36And guess what?
01:37I found the perfect place for them.
01:40The region of Mercia, which has a population of around one and a half million, has its own international airport,
01:46which takes just under three hours to fly to from the UK.
01:49Its more than 150 miles of coastline make it popular with water sports enthusiasts, along with golfers, hikers and lovers
01:57of the outdoor lifestyle.
01:58Not to mention a large and growing British expat community attracted by the affordable property prices in the region.
02:07It was back in 2022 when train driver Wayne and train manager Kate asked us to find them a holiday
02:12home in Mercia for their maximum budget of £90,000.
02:17He's my soul mate.
02:18In case my best, she always has been.
02:20Yeah.
02:21And I always say, I've always said it, she's me in a skirt.
02:24Even though I don't wear skirts.
02:27I first met them on Play Adelaide Guedicas to get an idea of what sort of property they were looking
02:32for.
02:33Tell me about the dream that you have. Life in Spain, what does that entail for you guys?
02:38Well, we like to walk.
02:39We are outside people.
02:40We like to play golf.
02:41Tell me about this dream property. What do you both have in mind?
02:45The big E is outside space.
02:47Outside space.
02:48We don't want to see view, just a bit more inland so we can come to these places.
02:53Are you both open to be doing a bit of work?
02:55Yeah.
02:55Yeah, we're quite, yeah.
02:57Yeah.
02:57If it's the right property.
02:59Not really like big construction.
03:01We don't, nothing like that.
03:03My first place was in the town in Pinar de Campo Verde, where Wayne and Kate had been many times
03:08and were keen to buy a property in.
03:10And we got off to a great start with this two bedroom bungalow.
03:14Very nice.
03:15Lovely.
03:16Really good.
03:17Amazing.
03:17I really like this.
03:18Love the art of the open plan kitchen.
03:19We love open plan, don't we?
03:21Yeah, we do.
03:22Topped off by the great solarium with sea views.
03:25Amazing.
03:26I like it all.
03:26You're ticking more boxes than we asked for.
03:29You really are.
03:30Yeah.
03:30Yeah.
03:30So our house hunt kicked off with a strong contender.
03:33Though, I came back down to work with a bump at property number two.
03:37This two bedroom semi-detached villa, because even though they like lots of things about it.
03:41This really is a nice place.
03:43It's been done out really well.
03:45Yeah, nice.
03:45Layout-wise, what do you think?
03:46Nice, yeah.
03:47It flows, seems to flow around.
03:49The big wall opposite blocks my chances of it being a contender.
03:52Looks nice.
03:54Apart from that.
03:55You don't like my nice feature wall?
03:57No.
03:57No.
03:58No?
03:59At this point, I felt I needed to change things up a bit.
04:02So we left Pienaar de Campo Verde and headed to Thetina.
04:05About 20 minutes drive away.
04:07I'm giving you a new town.
04:09It's really nice.
04:10It's got that nice villagey vibe.
04:11That feel, yeah.
04:12Yeah, that we like.
04:14I was really pleased Wayne and Kate liked the town so much as I'd found them what I thought
04:18was a great property there.
04:19This three bedroom villa and they seemed to agree with me.
04:24Really like it.
04:25Yeah.
04:25All this space.
04:27Look at all this outdoor space.
04:29What you can do with it.
04:30I really love it.
04:30Three bedrooms.
04:31We never thought you could get a three bed in our budget at all.
04:34No.
04:34I can't believe you.
04:35I just want to get in there.
04:36You do, don't you?
04:37You do.
04:38Get in.
04:38Their excitement continued once we got inside.
04:42Oh God, that's amazing.
04:43I really like it.
04:45Yeah, I do.
04:45We like the output space, you know that.
04:47Yeah.
04:47We love the cake and be cooking there and still talk to people.
04:52There's not even an arch right in the window.
04:54That is lovely.
04:55I really like that.
04:56Yeah, really good.
04:56That's nice.
04:57Yeah.
04:58Have you guys been here?
04:59Yeah.
05:00Definitely.
05:00We'll see you soon.
05:01Yeah.
05:02And the terrace didn't disappoint.
05:03So here, you've got the solarium as well.
05:08That's like, yeah.
05:09Like we see?
05:09Yeah, brilliant.
05:10Very nice.
05:11The views.
05:12Gorgeous.
05:13Neither did the upstairs bedroom.
05:15Nice.
05:16Hit the nail on the head.
05:17You can't just get anything better than this.
05:19It's like...
05:20Just perfect.
05:22Kate and Wayne seem smitten with this villa and I let them look at the rest on their own.
05:27Nice kitchen.
05:28Oh, the kitchen, yeah.
05:29That's hot.
05:29That's good.
05:30Yeah, it's nice space, ain't it?
05:31It is really good.
05:33This is a good size again.
05:34Oh, this is nice.
05:35Yeah.
05:35I bet it'd fit in here again, wouldn't it?
05:37Yeah.
05:38Before getting a fantastic final verdict.
05:40Loved it.
05:41Absolutely love it.
05:42Spot on.
05:43Absolutely.
05:44This is it.
05:44This is it, I think.
05:45It is literally what you guys are looking for, isn't it?
05:47It is.
05:48And more.
05:48And more.
05:49Number one's gone.
05:50It's gone.
05:51So it's feeling good as we headed out of Sathina to check out our next property.
05:55This bungalow close to the beach in Los Alcatraz.
05:59First impressions.
06:03Yeah.
06:04Dunno.
06:05And things didn't get much better from there.
06:08Didn't flow right for us.
06:09Didn't feel right for us at all.
06:10This one, I feel like I took all your Christmas presents away.
06:12Yeah.
06:13As soon as you walked up.
06:13Yeah.
06:14Yeah.
06:15Yeah.
06:15Just not right.
06:16Not right for us.
06:17So I knew I had to pull out all the stops with my fifth and final property.
06:21This three bedroom villa back in Pinar de Campo Verde.
06:24Priced a bit over budget, though I'd been told it was open to negotiation.
06:29Another pool.
06:30Lovely.
06:30Great area.
06:31Nice surroundings.
06:32Sea view from the pool.
06:33Sea view.
06:34Perfect location.
06:35Very nice.
06:36But the inside didn't go down so well.
06:38It does feel quite dark.
06:41Yeah.
06:41And obviously it's not open plan.
06:43Not open plan.
06:44It's not open plan.
06:45No.
06:46Leaving me a bit unsure where I stood with this one.
06:49How was the tour?
06:50It grew on us all the way through, didn't it?
06:52Yeah.
06:53Yeah.
06:53It did.
06:53We have our very strong contender in Safina.
06:57Are you now saying you're going to consider this one as a potential contender?
07:02We might.
07:02Yeah.
07:03It's between the two.
07:04And the next day it was the villa in Safina that won out.
07:08It's on the market for just under £80,000.
07:11Yeah.
07:11What would you like to offer?
07:15£75,500.
07:16The fact that we've got to buy absolutely everything.
07:20Because it'd be in a shell.
07:21Because it hasn't got a thing.
07:23I put the offer into the agent and then all we could do was wait.
07:27How are you feeling about that?
07:28Yeah.
07:29Are you nervous?
07:30Butterflies.
07:31Are you nervous?
07:32Butterflies.
07:32I don't get butterflies when I've got butterflies.
07:34I do.
07:35Ooh.
07:35Ooh.
07:36Ooh.
07:39Liz?
07:42OK, great.
07:43I'll run that by Kate and Wayne and we'll get back to you.
07:47All right, thank you.
07:49So, the owner has rejected the offer but has come back with a counter offer of £77,731.
07:58Very specific.
07:59She's meeting you in the middle, basically.
08:01We're farming that.
08:02Should I call Liz back?
08:03Yes, please.
08:03Please.
08:04OK.
08:06Liz, it's Lee again.
08:07You have got yourself a deal.
08:09Thank you so much.
08:11You've just bought a house in Spain.
08:14You've got your dream home.
08:16Congratulations.
08:17Thank you very much.
08:18Thank you so much.
08:19Oh, gee.
08:20This has been an amazing search and I wish you all the very best.
08:23Thank you very much, Lee.
08:24In your new chapter.
08:25Cheers, Lee.
08:25Congratulations.
08:27Invite me.
08:27Oh, most definitely.
08:28Definitely.
08:29Third bedroom.
08:29Once we've got furniture.
08:32Congrats, guys.
08:33Cheers.
08:40It's been two years since I was last here house hunting with them.
08:44And I've come back to see how they've got on.
08:46I think they're over there.
08:48Right, see Lee again.
08:49Oh, yeah.
08:50Yeah, it'd be nice to see him.
08:51Do you think he'll think of the house?
08:52I think he'll like it.
08:53I think he will.
08:54OK, yeah.
08:55Here he is.
08:56Hello.
08:56Hello.
08:57You guys look fantastic.
09:00How are you?
09:01Hola.
09:01Hola.
09:02How are you, sir?
09:03Fine, are you?
09:03How's it been?
09:04Amazing.
09:05Living the dream.
09:06Yeah?
09:06Definitely.
09:06It's been absolutely amazing.
09:08And what about that property itself?
09:10You've done so much to it.
09:11So much to it.
09:11I bet you have.
09:12Do you want to come and see?
09:13Come and have a look.
09:14Please.
09:15Come on, man.
09:15Shall we go?
09:17I'm desperate to hear about it.
09:20Coming up, I found out how Wayne and Kate have changed what was an empty property into
09:24their dream holiday home.
09:29Complete transformation.
09:30It feels homely in here.
09:32It is.
09:33It is.
09:33We open that door.
09:35And it's.
09:35We're back up.
09:36We're back.
09:43Today I'm in Tathina in Eastern Spain with Kate and Wayne.
09:47Two years ago I helped them find a three bedroom villa.
09:50And now I can't wait to find out what they've done to it.
09:53And learn more about how having a holiday home here has changed their lives.
09:59A bit different, do you think?
10:00I mean, first of all, I remember the house was yellow and white.
10:04Yeah.
10:04Now grey and white.
10:05Yeah, grey and white.
10:05The colour ties in really, really nicely with the property.
10:09Did you do that yourselves?
10:10Yeah.
10:10Yeah, we did.
10:10My arms was like Popeye.
10:13When I'd finished.
10:14Yeah, like Rambo as well.
10:15Constantly.
10:16I love that.
10:17And I remember there was the driveway here.
10:20Yeah.
10:21All the gravel.
10:22That's gone.
10:23We've had it all concreted.
10:24AstroTurf.
10:25AstroTurf, yeah.
10:26I can see why you've built the wall because it's your own private little haven isn't it?
10:32Yeah, it really is nice.
10:33It's a nice touch having the walls built, yeah.
10:36It was great when we first discovered the property.
10:38Yeah.
10:39But this is a classic case of you guys actually really putting your stamp on it.
10:44Totally.
10:44Exactly.
10:45Yeah.
10:45I'm loving this.
10:46There's changes inside too.
10:48Do you want to come and have a look?
10:49Yes, because last time that was a shell.
10:51It was a shell.
10:52Come on.
10:52It was.
10:52Let's have a look.
10:53The door's different.
10:54Yeah, new front door as well.
10:56Yeah, new front door.
10:56To go with the grave.
10:58Right, come on in.
10:59Come on in, Lou.
11:00See what you think inside.
11:03Complete transformation.
11:05There's nothing in here, what's there at all?
11:07I love that you've kept it light and bright.
11:10It feels homely in here.
11:11Yeah, it is.
11:13Second home.
11:13It's our second home.
11:15It is.
11:15We open that door and it's.
11:16We're back home.
11:17We're back.
11:18All the furniture that's in here, is that sourced locally?
11:22All here, yeah.
11:23Yeah.
11:23Was that quite a hard thing to do?
11:25The very first day we got the keys.
11:27Our friends from England came.
11:28They came with us.
11:28And we sat here.
11:30Cool box.
11:30Cool box.
11:31Suitcase.
11:32Four deck chairs.
11:34Ordered all the sofas and beds.
11:35The lights as well.
11:36Oh yeah, these are new as well.
11:37Yeah.
11:38We fitted these.
11:38And they're fans as well.
11:40No.
11:41Yeah.
11:41How?
11:45That's what you need when you're in here.
11:46Oh yeah.
11:46We've got them in the bedrooms as well.
11:47Because we don't have the air con.
11:49I mean, you've done such a great job so far.
11:52I mean, in two years.
11:53Yeah.
11:54You've done the outside.
11:55Yeah, that was our main thing.
11:56How much did all that cost?
11:58Everything out there was about 7,000.
12:007,000 pounds.
12:007,000 pounds.
12:02Yeah.
12:03And then?
12:03Everything in here.
12:04We've probably spent about 20,000 pounds.
12:0720,000 pounds.
12:08And so far there's still more to come.
12:10I know you loved the open plan kitchen.
12:13Yeah.
12:13Can you have a look?
12:14Yeah, come on then.
12:15Done nothing really in the kitchen.
12:17No.
12:17It's a holiday home.
12:18It's a holiday home.
12:19If we did movie permanently, then yeah, we'd put a new kitchen in.
12:22But just added a bit more storage.
12:24Yeah.
12:25Fridge.
12:26Fridge.
12:27There's me!
12:27There's you on the fridge.
12:29You do a lot of cooking here.
12:30Yeah, I love my cooking.
12:32Do you help?
12:32I do help.
12:33With the beginning.
12:34He chops.
12:35Chops the beginning.
12:36Sits here with a beer and he chops.
12:37Yeah, that's what he does.
12:38He sits there.
12:39She won't let me do anything else.
12:40No.
12:40And obviously the ingredients that you get out here.
12:43Oh yeah, the fresh veggies.
12:44Yeah, just fresh ingredients.
12:45And the little markets and things, yeah.
12:47What other changes have you done down here?
12:49Bedrooms.
12:52Ooh.
12:53That's our room really.
12:55Yeah, we use that.
12:56That's the palace.
12:58Yeah.
12:59Okay.
12:59Because I mean when we went in there.
13:00It was totally empty.
13:02Empty shell.
13:03Nothing at all.
13:04I love the beds.
13:05Quite minimal.
13:05We've just bedside tables.
13:07Yeah.
13:08Picture on the wall.
13:09And that one over there.
13:10Yeah, this is just their room.
13:12We've also got the two fantastic bedrooms down here.
13:15Yeah.
13:16There is...
13:17The other room upstairs.
13:18Another big room, yeah.
13:18The other bedroom upstairs.
13:20The big room.
13:20The big one.
13:21The big one.
13:22Yeah.
13:23Oh.
13:25This was the room that you guys didn't even know you needed.
13:28No.
13:29No.
13:29And we thought it was going to be ours.
13:31Yeah, what happened to that?
13:33We just felt that we were closer to the house.
13:36Right.
13:36Downstairs and we thought this might make a brilliant guest room.
13:39For visitors and guests, yeah.
13:41Because it's totally self-contained with its own bathroom.
13:43The fridge.
13:44The kettle.
13:45So they can just do the round things.
13:46Yeah, so when everyone comes to stay.
13:48So did you have to do much to it at all?
13:50Just that en suite.
13:51That show a try.
13:52Just the show a try.
13:52But I think this is just a fantastic space for guests.
13:55Yes.
13:55And I'd love to be a visitor here.
13:57It's fantastic.
13:58You get your own en suite.
13:59You step out to your own private terrace.
14:01Oh, they have to share that.
14:02They have to share that with us.
14:03Share that with us.
14:04Of course.
14:04Do you want to come out and have a look?
14:05It's conditional.
14:06Yes, I do.
14:06I do.
14:07This way.
14:09I mean, I think it's fantastic.
14:11They've turned this empty shell into a real nice home.
14:14And they seem so happy.
14:17Oh, that all-important sun trap.
14:21It's amazing.
14:21I mean, it's fantastic, isn't it?
14:23I mean, you've got a 180 view practically, right?
14:26It's gorgeous.
14:27We have, yeah.
14:27It's nice.
14:28Just perfect.
14:29Yeah, we love it.
14:30Had some great memories here.
14:31Oh, yeah.
14:32The best one, I think, was Richard and Tracy really, wasn't it?
14:35Yeah.
14:35Yeah.
14:36We stood there.
14:37Tracy got a bit emotional.
14:39Yeah.
14:39And started saying, you've found our place here.
14:42This is where we want to buy.
14:44They went home and the next day they rang and said, we want to buy now.
14:50Can you go and have a look at some properties for us?
14:52I found some properties online.
14:53They were like, go and look at this one, this one, this one.
14:54So we had to go and view them for them.
14:56Video chatting round these houses.
14:58Yeah.
14:59No way.
15:00And we'd been with the estate agent and then the one morning she rang and said,
15:06there's one just come back on the market.
15:08Just come back on the market.
15:08It fell through.
15:09Okay.
15:10So we went to that one.
15:11Did a video link.
15:12Video link.
15:13And they bought it.
15:14We did your job.
15:15Yeah.
15:15We did your job for you.
15:16Is it a great property?
15:18Oh, it's lovely.
15:18They've got a swimming pool.
15:19A nice swimming pool.
15:20So we get to go and share that.
15:21Happy days.
15:22Yeah, exactly.
15:23It's getting warm now, isn't it?
15:24It is getting hot out here.
15:26Do you want to go and have a bit of sangria maybe?
15:28I think so.
15:29Let's go make sangria.
15:30I've got music to my ears.
15:31Let's make sangria.
15:32Brilliant.
15:33I'm really impressed with what Kate and Wayne have done to the house.
15:36And it's great that their friends have bought a place round the corner.
15:40I'm looking forward to finding out more about their new life here in Spain over a glass of sangria.
15:45Make sangria.
15:46So I've drunk sangria before.
15:48I've never made it.
15:50Well, we have red wine.
15:51Okay.
15:52Brandy.
15:53Brandy.
15:54Yeah.
15:54Orange juice.
15:56And fruit.
15:57And the brown sugar.
15:58When in Spain, right?
16:00Indeed.
16:00Sangria is a must.
16:02Literally two years ago, we were looking at this property and you secured this for just under £78,000.
16:09We did.
16:10Do you know what this property would be on the market for right now?
16:14There's one just around the corner, the same.
16:16Yeah.
16:17It's on for about £120.
16:19That's quite a significant improvement.
16:21Yeah.
16:21In the space of two years.
16:23Yeah.
16:23From the time that you found it, you made the offer with me.
16:26When did you get the keys?
16:27To the day.
16:28Eight weeks.
16:29Eight weeks.
16:29They rang and said, it's all gone through.
16:31And what was that whole process like?
16:32Because obviously you opened the bank account.
16:34Yeah.
16:34Yeah.
16:35Solicitors did it all.
16:36Yeah.
16:37During that whole process, was there anything that you weren't aware of?
16:41There's lots of additional charges that you have to kind of take into account.
16:46There's always, it's, I think it ranges something between about 12 and 15%.
16:50On top of your purchase project.
16:52By law, you've got to have a Spanish bank.
16:53Yeah.
16:53The charges for that as well.
16:55And the charges.
16:55So what is that looking like monthly for a bank account here?
16:5810, 15 euros a month.
17:00Okay.
17:01I'd advise people to do their homework.
17:02Do their homework first.
17:03Right.
17:04We'd looked before we bought.
17:06We knew.
17:07And obviously because we were quite under budget with this property.
17:10Yeah.
17:11Would you say what was left in the property?
17:12Oh, everything was covered.
17:13Yeah.
17:13I think we still have about 5,000 in the bank after we'd paid our fees.
17:16Okay.
17:17That helped you with furniture.
17:17That helped with all the furniture.
17:18Yeah.
17:19You're going to put some brandy in there?
17:20Tell me when, because I've got very free-flowing hands, you know?
17:23How often have you managed to come out here and use the property?
17:25Oh, so much.
17:26The first two years we were virtually every month.
17:30Yeah.
17:31Oh my God.
17:32We just try and use as much as we can.
17:33And what did the family think?
17:34The boys, everyone back home?
17:36Oh, yeah.
17:37They love the fact that we've got it, yeah.
17:39Yeah.
17:39The friends the most, because they're like, oh, when we come to Spain next.
17:43And it's nice and social.
17:44You guys can just come out here, spend a weekend together, spend a few days together.
17:47Yeah.
17:48Get some great food.
17:49The beach is a 15-minute drive away.
17:51Yeah.
17:51It's just a lovely escape, like we've said.
17:53Yeah.
17:54What's next for this?
17:55Just pouring.
17:56Oh.
17:56And tasting.
17:57Go on then.
17:57Should we have a try?
17:58I'm salivating.
17:59You're waiting for this to happen.
18:00Come on then.
18:02There you go, Lee.
18:03Okay.
18:03You're the guinea pig.
18:05Smells good.
18:06There you go.
18:07Let's try then, shall we?
18:08Guys.
18:09Cheers.
18:10Cheers.
18:10It's your new life here.
18:12Cheers.
18:12Ready?
18:13Let's try.
18:16That's good.
18:17Maybe a little bit more sugar may be required.
18:20Oh, we love this.
18:20Depends if you like it sweet or not.
18:21I think a bit more brandy as well.
18:22I thought I poured enough.
18:24Maybe.
18:25What's it like when you do come out here?
18:26What do you do?
18:27What do you enjoy doing?
18:28Now we've finished the work, we can chill.
18:31Good for our walks.
18:32But our favourite thing is the golf.
18:34Is the golf.
18:34Are you really good at it?
18:35Because I'm absolutely useless.
18:36Mine's very good.
18:37I've been playing for quite a few years, so yeah.
18:39Really?
18:40Yeah.
18:40He taught me how to play as well.
18:42How often do you play when you come out here?
18:43We're playing tomorrow.
18:45You're not.
18:45Yeah.
18:46Okay.
18:46I'll be able to show you a few things if you're interested.
18:48I could definitely meet you there tomorrow.
18:50Put a nice little golf outfit on.
18:52Yeah.
18:52And then just see how it goes.
18:54Yeah.
18:54Just don't expect too much from me then.
18:55Okay.
18:56Why don't we finish these, have a nice quiet evening.
19:00Yeah.
19:00And then I'll meet you down in the morning.
19:02Yeah, we'll meet you in the morning.
19:03Cheers guys.
19:06Well that definitely is a house and a lifestyle worth toasting.
19:10But I didn't get too stuck in as I needed to keep a clear head for my golfing lesson.
19:14At the Hacienda Riquelme golf course just outside of Sathina.
19:20There you are.
19:21Hello, hello, hello.
19:23Morning.
19:23I thought I'd arrive in style just for you.
19:26There you go.
19:27There you go.
19:27How are you?
19:28Good mate, thank you.
19:29Nice to see you.
19:29This looks great.
19:31How are you doing?
19:31Good, thanks.
19:32This will do?
19:33Yeah, you're going to need one of those.
19:35This is a driving range.
19:36So if you want me to show you, I can show you how to try and use a driver.
19:39Absolutely.
19:39I use the Varden grip.
19:41Use your little pinky over your left forefinger and then tee the ball up.
19:46Yeah.
19:46This is what I do.
19:47I just feet together, little step, big step.
19:50Here we go.
19:51And just swing back and follow through.
19:54He's got a good stance, hasn't he?
19:56Whoa!
19:58Now it's your chance.
20:00Feet together.
20:01Now a little step with your left foot and a big step with your right foot.
20:04Dress the ball right against it.
20:06Right against the ball.
20:07That's it.
20:09Yeah!
20:10That was cracking!
20:11Well done.
20:12Come on.
20:13You're the star.
20:14Call me the new Tiger Woods.
20:16Yeah, that's it.
20:16Yeah?
20:17Come on, Tiger.
20:17Come on, Tiger, let's go.
20:18Shall we go and try some putting?
20:19Let's try.
20:20Try being the operative word.
20:21Try.
20:22Stand yourself at your side there.
20:25Okay.
20:25And then you have to swing it back and hit through.
20:27Touch and feel.
20:28Aiming for that.
20:28Touch and feel.
20:29They're all about the feel?
20:30Yeah.
20:30Okay.
20:30It's all about the feel.
20:31Here we go.
20:35Oh!
20:37Well done.
20:38So close.
20:39So close.
20:40Very good.
20:40Foist in!
20:42Okay.
20:43Come on.
20:44In the hole.
20:46Come on, Leigh.
20:47Get it in the hole.
20:49Oh!
20:51That's a goal.
20:52Go on, just go on.
20:55Yeah!
20:56I did it!
20:57Well played.
20:59I'm a good teacher.
21:00You did amazing.
21:00Oh, I do.
21:01Wow!
21:02Do you really enjoy this?
21:04Yeah, we love it.
21:04We love our golf.
21:05Yeah?
21:06Yeah, we love it.
21:06Being out here, have you been able to practice more, enjoy it more?
21:10Yeah.
21:10Because you don't have to plan.
21:12Yeah.
21:12You don't have to think, oh, what's the weather going to do?
21:13Yeah.
21:14You can just get up, put the clothes in the car, and off you go.
21:16I mean, spending the last couple of days with you guys and seeing your beautiful home.
21:20Your friends even bought five streets away from you.
21:23Oh no, I didn't believe.
21:24Yeah.
21:24I mean, that is unheard of.
21:26I know.
21:26I was not expecting that at all.
21:28We wish it was ten streets.
21:29But if there were people in that same position, what's the best piece of advice you'd give
21:35them?
21:36Do your research.
21:37Yeah.
21:38The big E.
21:38Do your own work.
21:39Yeah.
21:40Look into everything first.
21:41Take everything into account.
21:42Yeah.
21:42Yeah.
21:43And also, have an open mind of areas, because we had to. You brought us here.
21:48You brought us here.
21:49It was nowhere, it was somewhere where we never thought we'd live. You found our paradise.
21:55You really did.
21:56No regrets?
21:57None whatsoever.
21:58None whatsoever, no.
21:59None whatsoever.
21:59Safe to say this is your happy place.
22:02Oh, very much.
22:02It is.
22:03Very much so.
22:04It's been such a pleasure spending the last couple of days with you.
22:07Thank you for inviting me into your home.
22:09Thanks for coming.
22:10Thank you for teaching me golf.
22:11I've learnt a new life skill.
22:13Keep in touch.
22:14Will do.
22:15You take care.
22:15Thank you so much.
22:16And you.
22:18My friend, see you soon.
22:19Enjoy the games of golf.
22:21We will.
22:21Leave you with my trusted glove.
22:23Take care guys.
22:24Take care.
22:24Bye.
22:25Bye.
22:30Two years ago, I helped Kate and Wayne find their dream holiday home here in beautiful
22:35Mercia.
22:35And it's been so nice to come back, reconnect, see their new life, experience this life of
22:41their paradise, and also get a game of golfing.
22:47Coming up, Laura Hamilton is in the Tarn-et-Garon region of France, catching up with Keith, who
22:52she helped along with his friend, Neil, find a holiday home some three years ago.
22:56The place had been recently renovated, but it's going to be so great to see how Keith
23:00has made it his own.
23:01Here we are.
23:03Welcome.
23:04Welcome.
23:04Thank you, Samuel.
23:06Oh, it all looks so neat and perfect.
23:26There is nothing quite like a refreshing swim, and when you add in views of rolling hills
23:31and charming French villages, it's like stepping into a postcard.
23:35Keith had long dreamt of owning a holiday home surrounded by beautiful countryside, so I'm
23:41thrilled to say I managed to find him the perfect place with all the charm he could wish for.
23:47It's in the region of Tarn-et-Garon in southwest France, which is about a nine-hour drive from
23:53Calais or an hour from the closest international airport to Luz.
23:57It's a lush green and agricultural region named after the rivers Tarn and Garon that run
24:03through it.
24:04Popular with lovers of the great outdoors, scenic walks and activities on the water are always
24:09close by, and the local food and wine provides the perfect end to an active day.
24:14Back in 2021, Keith, who had a lifelong love affair with France, was looking for a holiday
24:20home that he could retire to in the future, working with a budget of £185,000.
24:26Good friend Neil came along to offer support, and we started with a chat on the banks of the Garon
24:31River.
24:32How beautiful is it here?
24:34Beautiful.
24:35Absolutely beautiful.
24:37So, tell me a bit about your friendship.
24:39Yeah, I live in Gloucestershire, and Keith moved into a village just above me.
24:44Two years ago?
24:45Yeah.
24:45Yeah.
24:46And was looking for friends and went on the net, and guess who popped up?
24:49Aww.
24:50And we met up and we just hit it off straight away.
24:53Absolutely.
24:53Absolutely straight away.
24:54Great timing.
24:56Property-wise, Keith was looking for somewhere with that typical French feel, and at least
25:01two bedrooms.
25:02But more importantly, he wanted a quintessentially French town or village within reach, and our
25:08first OVR went down pretty well.
25:11Wow.
25:12How amazing.
25:13Unbelievable.
25:14Absolutely unbelievable.
25:15Isn't it just gorgeous?
25:17There's some pretty good views from around here, so you can probably see through that.
25:21Absolutely.
25:22Wonderful place.
25:23Yeah, I love it.
25:25Absolutely gorgeous.
25:27Love it.
25:27And once we got to the property, this renovated house in a small village, a four-minute drive
25:32away.
25:32Wow.
25:33Oh, my.
25:34Oh, no.
25:36Oh, ho, ho, ho, ho, ho.
25:37Why, oh, no?
25:38What?
25:39What?
25:39That reaction?
25:40It's gorgeous.
25:41It is.
25:41That is so you.
25:42Yeah.
25:43Why is it so you, Keith?
25:45There's no work needed to...
25:47It's, you know, it's clean, tidy, it's...
25:49Yeah.
25:50Great lines.
25:51It's got the character, it's got the chimney, it's...
25:55What a start this was proving to be as the compliments kept flowing once we got
25:59inside.
26:00Beautiful.
26:02Absolutely stunned, really.
26:04I can tell by the huge smile on your face, Keith.
26:07Honestly, yeah.
26:07I'm blown away.
26:09It's just so me.
26:10I absolutely love it.
26:11I love the black work tiles.
26:14The bedrooms, bathrooms and above-ground pool also went down well, and once they'd seen
26:19it all...
26:20There's nothing you don't like about it at all.
26:22When you look at his remit, and it's there.
26:25So the only thing that's not there, and it's not a negative, is the view.
26:31But four minutes that way, he's got a viewpoint and an awesome village in the views.
26:38Yeah.
26:38So it's all here.
26:40Right, well we have got four more properties to see, and I'm just thinking, as you've loved
26:45this so much, are you happy for me to just throw some different things into the mix and
26:50see what it brings?
26:52Absolutely.
26:52Yeah, why not?
26:53Yeah.
26:54With that rather solid contender and permission to go wild, I tried something very different
26:59for our next, not far away in the village of Gauderville.
27:03This huge 1970s house with appalling views.
27:07While Keith loved the space on offer inside, it needed too much work for him and received
27:12a stern no.
27:13Up next was the village of Lafitte and this four bedroom house that I was hoping would get
27:18me back on track.
27:18Yeah, it's interesting, I'm looking forward to looking inside.
27:22Yeah.
27:22I think it's very pretty, and it's very French.
27:26We headed inside and…
27:28It's not floating my boat at all.
27:30It's not clean lines, it's not light, it's not bright.
27:35Yeah, it's not floating my boat.
27:36Okay.
27:38After an amazing start to this search, things had gone somewhat downhill, but I wasn't deterred
27:43and had another rather unique option lined up next in the village of Jeansac.
27:48I sent Keith and Neil off on their own to view this wooden house that had the more minimalist
27:53style I knew Keith was looking for.
27:55I am intrigued and it's an interesting property, it's just not me.
28:00I don't get any of the spaces or any of the layout.
28:05I really wanted to finish up with arrival to our first place, that renovated house.
28:10So I decided it was time to show something more along those lines.
28:13We headed to Gask to view this house with a large garden that was listed over budget, but
28:19with some room for negotiation.
28:23Step inside.
28:24So this room they're currently using as a dining room, as you can see.
28:29Yeah, it could be used for a number of things actually, I think.
28:32I'm liking what we've seen so far.
28:34I like the character.
28:35Is it the character?
28:36Yeah.
28:36That's doing it for you.
28:37I think, yeah.
28:38And it's got a good feel.
28:39Yeah, it does.
28:40And we finally had a second contender.
28:42But the next morning, Keith had decided it was our first place, the renovated house,
28:47that had won out and he wanted to make an offer.
28:51It was on the market for just under £170,000.
28:55So I'm thinking, can we go 162?
28:58OK, how did you come up with that figure?
29:01I'm just trying to think.
29:02There are a few things that I'd really like to do with that property.
29:04OK.
29:05So it is the French dream, but you'd like to improve it a little bit and that's how you've
29:10come up with the offer.
29:11So £162,000.
29:13I made the call and it wasn't long before we heard back.
29:17PHONE RINGS
29:18Hi, Ben.
29:20OK.
29:22Thanks, Ben.
29:23Speak soon.
29:24Bye.
29:24Bye.
29:27Well, well, well, Keith.
29:30They've come back with a counteroffer.
29:32OK.
29:33They will accept an offer of £164,000 and they want to leave most of the furniture.
29:41No way!
29:43Well, job done.
29:45Really?
29:45Yeah!
29:46I can't believe it!
29:49It's just...
29:49Pick the phone up.
29:52Could you say yes quickly before he changes his mind?
29:55So he's saying yes?
29:56Yes.
29:56I mean, you want the furniture?
29:58Yeah.
29:59Let's do it.
30:00Hi, Ben.
30:01You've got yourself a deal.
30:03Bye-bye.
30:04Oh, bless him.
30:05He said congratulations and congratulations!
30:10Wow!
30:11Your French dream.
30:13Your French dream.
30:15It's happened.
30:16Wow.
30:17How do you feel?
30:18Oh, my God.
30:20Emotional.
30:22Cheers!
30:23Cheers, Laura.
30:24Thank you so much.
30:26What an amazing search.
30:33It's been almost three years since I've seen Neil and Keith and I'm so excited to catch
30:39up with them and find out what they've been up to.
30:44It's you!
30:46Hi!
30:46Hello!
30:49Hi!
30:50Hi!
30:50Good to see you!
30:51Hi, guys!
30:51So good to see you.
30:52It's been more three years.
30:54How you doing?
30:55Yeah.
30:56Well, you haven't changed a bit.
30:57Oh, wow.
30:58Bless you.
31:00I remember that music.
31:01Isn't it stunning?
31:02Isn't it gorgeous?
31:03So, are you here on holiday?
31:06You haven't relocated permanently?
31:07No, not yet.
31:08I've been using it two or three times a year and each time doing a little bit with the
31:12house.
31:13And you've come for a few days?
31:14I've just come for a few days.
31:16As one does, fly in, fly back over here.
31:18Very nice.
31:19You must come and have a look and see what we've done.
31:21Oh, well, you don't need to ask me twice.
31:23Come on, though.
31:24Let's go!
31:25Let's go!
31:27Coming up, let me tell you, Keith's place is looking fabulous.
31:32You need a job as an interior designer, I think.
31:34Oh, bless.
31:35I do enjoy it.
31:36I really, really do enjoy it.
31:44Today, I'm in Tarn-et-Garonne, a region of France filled with beautiful villages like
31:49Auvier, where nearly three years ago I helped Keith, with the support of his friend Neil,
31:54find the perfect holiday home.
31:56It was ready to go, and had the combination of French character and modern clean lines
32:00Keith was looking for, and I can't wait to see what he's done with the place.
32:05Here we are.
32:07Welcome to the avenue.
32:09Thank you, sir.
32:10Oh, it all looks so neat and perfect.
32:14Is it as you remember?
32:16It is as I remember, but there are some additions, aren't there, in the garden?
32:20Yes, absolutely.
32:21Planters there I've spotted.
32:23I don't recall those being there.
32:24Absolutely right.
32:26Yeah, and these are new too.
32:28Absolutely, yeah.
32:29We've changed the colour of the shutters, yeah, and created the seating area, really,
32:35down by the pool.
32:36It's quite a large plot, really, to have to maintain.
32:39How do you manage that?
32:41Well, a friend of a friend of a friend now comes and does this for me, which is great,
32:46actually, and it's quite a comfort.
32:47So, if I'm not here, I know that, you know, it's at least being looked after and regularly,
32:51you know, kept.
32:52Yeah, and he's not letting the neighbourhood down with three-foot grass.
32:55No, no.
32:56It looks perfect.
32:57Then what are the neighbours like?
32:59They're absolutely lovely.
33:00All of my neighbours are French, so it does make me speak some of the language.
33:05And how is that going?
33:06It's improving a petit peu.
33:08A petit peu.
33:09Hooray.
33:10Don't believe him, he's really good at it.
33:13It is getting better.
33:14But, yeah, and it's lovely, as I say, and they're really welcoming.
33:17I remember it being pretty done, actually, inside.
33:22Mmm, yes, bits of it are still, but a lot of it isn't.
33:26Okay, there's some stories to be told.
33:28Come on, have a look.
33:29Come on, let's go.
33:32Come on in.
33:37Oh, this is how I remembered it as well.
33:40Bless you, yeah.
33:41A few tweaks.
33:42Exactly.
33:43What's happened there?
33:44Aha, well, this was a picture that I spotted and absolutely love, but it's actually hiding something.
33:49So, let me show you.
33:51In behind here is a fuse box, which I really did not like the look of.
33:58So, put a hinge on the picture and hiding all of that.
34:03So, yeah, that's it.
34:05Clever.
34:06That's really clever.
34:07Mon pièce de résistance.
34:09Love it.
34:10Good.
34:11Actually, in terms of in here then, it looks like you've put some lovely accessories in here as well.
34:17Some that I'd quite like for my home.
34:19Really?
34:20Wow.
34:22All of the smaller pieces, the lamps, yeah, the silver, etc.
34:26Yeah.
34:27And the kitchen.
34:28The kitchen was essentially already here, that's right, yeah.
34:31So, it's just, again, a few of my smaller pieces, yeah.
34:35But if I'm right, that table was outside when you bought the house.
34:38It was outside, that's right.
34:39To be fair, the condition of it, I didn't really like being outside, I don't think.
34:43So, I've had to wax it and I've beeswaxed it quite a few times.
34:47So, yeah, but I just think it's beautiful.
34:49So, you've kind of upcycled it?
34:49It is beautiful.
34:49Absolutely.
34:50There's quite a bit that I've upcycled since I've been here.
34:52Because I just think it's really important, yeah.
34:54Absolutely.
34:55The only thing that's really lacking is more of a French flavour.
34:58And have you got any ideas on where you might want to pick it up?
35:02Well, funnily enough, there is a brocade up in the local village here and I've not visited
35:08it yet.
35:08So, maybe we could go and have a look.
35:09Oh, let's.
35:10I love a brocade.
35:10And have a good little rummage.
35:12Absolutely.
35:13I'm looking for a few bits as well.
35:15So, maybe we'll be fighting over them.
35:16Let's do it.
35:17Exactly.
35:18Yeah, yeah, yeah.
35:19Yeah, yeah, yeah.
35:21And where else can you show me then in the house with, you know, bits and pieces that you've
35:24done?
35:25Well, let's go and see the bedroom, shall we?
35:27Big changes this way?
35:28Oh, yes.
35:29Come on.
35:29Let's look.
35:32Well, the house was lovely when Keith brought it, but I think the little changes that he's
35:37made so far, from what I've seen, have just taken it up another notch.
35:42I can't wait to see what else is done.
35:44Okay, so, this is the main bedroom.
35:47Well, it was the first room that I decorated.
35:50So, this is the guest room, so this is Neil's room.
35:52Nice room you've got.
35:54I know, I fight the pillows, it's okay.
35:56I love a scatter cushion, love a cushion.
35:58I do like a cushion.
35:59And you've wrapped the ceiling.
36:01Yes, because this was black, which I felt was just a bit too heavy, really.
36:05Do you know what?
36:06I love wrapping rooms with paint.
36:09Because actually, if you paint the ceiling white, it brings it down.
36:12So, if you wrap the room and it's really, really nice.
36:16And I just feel it lifts it a little bit, but it actually keeps the room cool, and it's one
36:20of my favourite colours.
36:21Yeah, yeah, and you've got the en-suite as well.
36:23And exactly, it's got an en-suite, so I just think that's nice for a guest.
36:26I can't fault it, really. I struggle on.
36:28Yeah.
36:29No, it's nice, it's lovely.
36:30It's kind of boutique hotel-esque, isn't it?
36:33It is very, isn't it?
36:34Wow.
36:35It is very, yeah.
36:36I'd like to think so.
36:37Yeah!
36:38So, this is my next favourite room, Laura.
36:41This is the green room, as I call it.
36:44You need a job as an interior designer, I think.
36:47Oh, bless.
36:47I do enjoy it.
36:48I really, really do enjoy it.
36:49The wallpaper is exactly the same.
36:52There were some marks.
36:52Was that wallpaper there?
36:54Absolutely, believe it or not, it was there.
36:56So...
36:57This was the children's bedroom.
36:58Yeah.
36:59Well, another great room.
37:01Okay, so, this is my bedroom.
37:05This is my favourite.
37:07The principal bedroom.
37:08This is my favourite.
37:09It's been so lovely getting the chance to have a look at what you've done.
37:14Oh, bless you.
37:14I mean, it's beautiful, really.
37:16Well, it's been lovely for you to come, thank you very much indeed.
37:19But I wouldn't be polite to let you go without having some of the charcuterie
37:23etc.
37:24Oh!
37:25Yeah, let's have some of that.
37:27Shall we do it?
37:28Yeah, love a bit of ham and cheese.
37:29Yeah, go for it.
37:32And it doesn't take Keith long to rustle up what is effectively a luxurious picnic
37:37and, as you'd expect having seen his house, Keith displays it beautifully.
37:42This is just absolutely glorious.
37:48That was first, living the dream.
37:49You really are living the dream, weren't you?
37:51Absolutely.
37:51Absolutely.
37:52Yeah, absolutely.
37:53It's fantastic.
37:53I think you got this property for a really good price.
37:56I think I did okay.
37:57You did.
37:59You did.
37:59I'm going to go show it to 164.
38:00That's right, including the main bits of furniture.
38:03And have you any idea how much it is worth now?
38:06The agent's given me an indication that it's between 240 to maybe 250.
38:13Wow!
38:14Congratulations!
38:16I am!
38:16Woo!
38:18I'm not surprised, because I know just how the housing market in France has picked up
38:23with a lack of stock available in the last three years.
38:26Were you surprised when you got that valuation?
38:29Stunned.
38:30Stunned.
38:3090,000 in three years.
38:32Yeah.
38:32That's a lot more than I ever anticipated, I have to say.
38:35And how much would you say you've spent on it?
38:39Between six and eight grand, I would say.
38:41Thousand, yeah.
38:42You know, you go off and you try and find all the right little bits and pieces.
38:45But paint and those sorts of things do seem to be a little bit more expensive here.
38:50But I was advised quite early on to make sure I purchased them locally,
38:54because they are actually manufactured and made slightly differently
38:57to suit this climate, etc.
38:59Sure.
38:59So it was important.
39:00And I quite like to support the local community as well, so.
39:03Have you found it quite easy to integrate with the community?
39:06I mean, to be fair, as I say, my neighbours here have been really, really friendly.
39:09And so, you know, whilst there is still a little bit of a communication barrier,
39:13it's not massive.
39:14But, yeah, I've been starting to get a network of friends, which was lovely.
39:19On the three occasions that I've been out here,
39:22I've been out to three different restaurants,
39:25because his friends know all the ones to go to.
39:27So, yeah, it's really, really lovely.
39:30With this flying, you've got a pretty good evening social life out here.
39:33At what point do you think, you know, you're going to really step away from work
39:37and slow down and then use this place more?
39:41I'm not ready for it, really.
39:42So I'm going to work on a little bit longer,
39:44but then the ultimate view and the ultimate plan is, yes,
39:48I would like to come and live out here, because that's always been the dream.
39:51Your level of French, then, how good is it?
39:55I'd still say it was schoolboy-ish.
39:58Neil doesn't agree.
40:00No, it's not.
40:00No, it's not.
40:01So it's obviously better than schoolboy,
40:03but do you think that actually, in France, you need to really speak?
40:10It certainly helps. I think it certainly helps.
40:13Even if you try and you make a mistake or you make an error,
40:17I think that I find that they do appreciate the fact that you are making,
40:21you know, the effort.
40:22How's your French, then?
40:23My French is awful.
40:25Right.
40:25We need to come out here more, Neil, and practice.
40:27Now, this is a good idea, Laura.
40:29I should come out more and practice.
40:30Do you hear that?
40:31Indeed.
40:32Yeah? Okay.
40:33I think the invite's there.
40:35Yeah, good.
40:36I definitely will start to come out now.
40:38I had three back operations, so the health hasn't been good,
40:41but that's all over and done with.
40:43You're all okay.
40:43I'm okay now.
40:44Yeah, yeah, so it's good.
40:45So now I'll start to use it more.
40:47I clearly remember when we did meet almost three years ago,
40:50it was actually a pretty new friendship for you as well, wasn't it?
40:54Yeah, it was.
40:55You'd become friends in Covid, relocating close to a town together.
41:00So how amazing.
41:01Yeah.
41:01I'd like to see still friends as well.
41:03Yeah, we are, yeah, yeah.
41:04Absolutely.
41:05Maybe the distance helped.
41:07Yeah.
41:08Yeah.
41:08Yeah, that's good.
41:09It's all worked out really, really, really well.
41:12Yeah.
41:12Look, I think it is a fab property that you have made look even more fabulous.
41:17Yes.
41:18The location.
41:19I love this location so much.
41:21I think you've done so well.
41:23We did good finding you this property.
41:25You did.
41:26I did.
41:27You did amazingly well.
41:28You really did.
41:29Do you get up to over much at all?
41:31Not as often probably as I should, and that's where the local brocante is,
41:36so I think we should really go and have a little mosey.
41:39Shall we go?
41:39Let's go shopping.
41:41Yeah.
41:41Cheers.
41:42Cheers.
41:43Come on.
41:45I describe a French brocante as somewhere between a second hand and an antique shop back
41:50in the UK.
41:51The one in question is down in Orviar, officially one of the prettiest villages in France.
41:57Shall we head inside?
41:59Yeah.
41:59Yeah, yeah, yeah.
42:02Bonjour.
42:05Bonjour.
42:07Anything catching your eye in here?
42:10Look at these.
42:11These are cute.
42:12These are radios.
42:13Yeah, perfect.
42:14Yeah.
42:15Wow.
42:16I really like this.
42:17What do you think, guys?
42:18Oh, yeah.
42:20Yeah.
42:20That's quite like the ones out front, but it's much prettier.
42:24I love that.
42:25Oh, look at that.
42:26How much is it, sir?
42:2850.
42:29I think it's too expensive for me.
42:32There's a possibility of having to go.
42:34Yes.
42:3545, maybe?
42:37This French is not a scam.
42:39That's right.
42:41I'm going to buy it.
42:42Thank you, sir.
42:44Oh, you've done the deal already.
42:46Yeah.
42:46Man that knows what he wants.
42:48I love it.
42:48There you go.
42:50Sold to the man who doesn't speak French.
42:52Correct.
42:54That was 45 euros, a discount of 10% for those like Neil who are still working on their French.
43:01What a purchase.
43:03What a purchase.
43:04Thank you, monsieur.
43:05There you are.
43:06Au revoir.
43:06Au revoir.
43:07Merci.
43:07Thank you, monsieur.
43:08Thank you, monsieur.
43:08Thank you, monsieur.
43:08Thank you, monsieur.
43:09We're taking a seat inside the Al Ougrain d'Ouvier, an old marketplace from the early 19th century.
43:16You're pretty lucky to have so many amazing locations or, you know, places like this on your doorstep.
43:23I am incredibly lucky, actually.
43:25Yeah.
43:25It's inspiring, though.
43:26And I do love it.
43:28It's clearly worked out really well for you.
43:31So, if you could give anyone any advice on purchasing in France, what would you say?
43:36I would say accessibility is key, whether that be by car, by train, you know, flying, whatever.
43:43So, and I can do all of that here.
43:45Yesterday I met some guys who had actually come down from London by train.
43:49I think the station's 15 minutes from here.
43:52And that's a beautiful journey as well.
43:54Yeah.
43:55Yeah.
43:55Might be a silly question, but do you have any regrets whatsoever?
43:59Absolutely not.
44:00Just that I should have done it earlier.
44:02There you go.
44:03Well, it really has been so lovely seeing you both, catching up, seeing what you've done to that amazing house,
44:09going to the Brocon.
44:11What a treat.
44:12Well, Laura, I've got to say a huge thank you for all your help.
44:15I have to say, none of this would have been possible without you.
44:18And it's just incredible.
44:20I won't leave it so long next time.
44:22No, hopefully not.
44:22No, don't.
44:23Give us a hug.
44:24Cheers, darling.
44:25Thank you so much.
44:26Stay well and keep enjoying that beautiful French home.
44:31And find a lovely spot for that pot.
44:33I think I know where it's going to go.
44:35See you.
44:36Bye.
44:36Bye.
44:39It has been delightful catching up with Keith and his friend Neil in one of my favourite parts
44:44of France.
44:45Keith's got a great eye for interior design and he's made a fabulous job of turning his
44:49French house into a beautiful home, which I know he's going to enjoy for many years to come.
