00:50the special 8 crown is a sturdy roadblock towards 100 completion if that's your thing
00:58you'll have to beat the level once with all courses cleared collect all 285 star medals
01:04and grab the top of every flagpole with both mario and luigi all while never using an assist block
01:10once you do the hardest level in the game is unlocked for you to take a stab at

01:29this reward isn't as difficult as it is time consuming but it deserves a spot on this list
01:34nonetheless new super mario bros 2 is themed heavily around the golden coins we've come to know and love
01:40throughout the series the main menu has a tracker displaying all of the coins you've collected
01:45throughout the main playthroughs and coin rush once you hit a million the menu changes to a shiny gold
01:50and a golden mario statue appears
01:56the real challenge is getting nine million nine hundred ninety nine thousand and nine hundred
02:01ninety nine coins which replaces the golden mario with a golden raccoon mario
02:05is it cool debatable is it worth it less than debatable
02:13the six extra level stars super mario world 2 yoshi's island
02:27described by critics as one of the greatest games of all time yoshi's island's hardest unlockable rewards
02:33are the six stars you unlock by finishing each of the six extra levels you have to get a 100
02:39score
02:39on each previous level which is easy to track thankfully although pretty hard due to this entry's
02:45non-linear nature
02:51then you have to get a perfect 100 score on all of these levels to unlock the star
02:56totaling up to six they appear on the main menu once you've finished
03:00and are a nice little nod to your well-earned accomplishment
03:08super luigi galaxy super mario galaxy
03:15super mario galaxy on the wii is one of the console's best and its hardest challenge by far is
03:21unlocking luigi as a playable character also known as super luigi galaxy to do so you'll have to collect
03:27all 120 of the game's power stars then beat the final bowser encounter twice
03:38once you do you can unlock luigi if you collect all power stars and defeat bowser as luigi you then
03:44unlock the grand finale galaxy which is another challenge in and of itself
03:53fall super mario world
03:59unlocking this completely hidden fall mode is pretty tough even by today's standards you'll have to find
04:04all 96 exits which if you're familiar with the ghost houses is a certified pain in the butt but this
04:11also includes the brutally difficult special zone levels
04:18once you do super mario world changes seasons to fall and certain enemies take on new appearances
04:24like piranha plants turning into jack-o-lanterns it's pretty awesome
04:33main menu red yoshi super mario advance
04:41if just beating super mario bros 2 isn't tough enough the real hardest unlockable reward comes by
04:47way of 2001's gameboy advance remake super mario advance the reward itself is just a cute yoshi on the
04:54main menu and you unlock a regular green yoshi egg just by finishing the game a single time but the

05:00yoshi is the real challenge
05:06you'll have to collect all 40 eggs from the yoshi challenge and grab all 100 ace coins the yoshi
05:12challenge sees you grabbing two eggs from each level and if you lose a life you lose all the eggs
05:17you're carrying the levels are pretty brutal but come on the little red guy is so cute it's totally worth

05:29the sound off badge super mario bros wonder
05:37similar to breath of the wilds and tears of the kingdom's useless headsu gift the sound off badge
05:42is a fun reward that doesn't do much but unlocking it is quite the chore to put it lightly to

05:48you'll have to get 100 completion in super mario bros wonder this requires you to grab
05:53the top of every goal pole defeat bowser get all wonder seeds all 10 flower coins collect all badges
06:00and obtain all standees sounds easy right well it isn't
06:08once you do all of this you'll then have to take on the final final test badge marathon which is
06:13easily
06:14the toughest level in the whole game

06:48once you max out your moon counter at 999 return to the wedding chapel on the moon to jump into

07:27completion reward for this game the rewards are the five stars on the game file after completing
07:32five tough completion challenges you'll have to collect every single green star collect every stamp
07:37reach the top of the goal post on the great tower of bowser once and touch the top of every

07:43goal post in the game that doesn't sound too bad right wrong
07:53the last bit about touching the goal post in every level must be done with all five playable characters
07:59that's pretty brutal

08:23getting the platinum crown and earning the master of galaxies rank in super mario galaxy 2
08:28is not only the mario series hardest unlockable but it's one of the toughest challenges in all of
08:34gaming to earn both you have to finish the game's hidden true final challenge the grandmaster galaxy
08:40which itself is brutal to unlock to do so you'll have to collect all 120 power stars and beat the
08:46final
08:47bowser fight twice
08:54after this you'll unlock the green star comet and have to nab all 120 green stars which unlocks the
09:00grandmaster galaxy collect all the stars from here and congratulations you're the proud new owner of
