Trump says deal could be reached 'soon' as Iran warns against US ground invasion

Iran launched strikes on Kuwait and Saudi Arabia after Iranian electrical facilities came under attack, cutting power to parts of Tehran and surrounding areas. Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump claims the war has achieved regime change and a deal could be reached "soon" with Tehran.

00:02Strikes continued to rain down on Iran overnight, even as US President Donald Trump repeated
00:08claims that a deal could be reached soon to end the war.
00:12Iran's energy ministry reported power outages in the capital Tehran and surrounding areas
00:17following attacks on electricity industry facilities.
00:22Kuwait said one worker was killed after a retaliatory strike hit a power station and
00:27water desalination site, and Saudi Arabia said its forces detected and intercepted five
00:33ballistic missiles.
00:35And we will probably, I think we'll make a deal with them, pretty sure, whether it's
00:42possible or we won't, but we've had regime change, if you look already, because the one
00:48regime was decimated, destroyed, they're all dead, the next regime is mostly dead, and the
00:56third regime was dealing with different people than anybody's dealt with before, it's a whole
01:00different group of people.
01:01So I would consider that regime change."
01:05The Speaker of Iran's parliament accused Washington of using diplomacy as a smokescreen as it warned
01:11against a possible ground invasion.
01:14Meanwhile Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced plans on Sunday to expand his country's
01:20ground invasion of southern Lebanon.
01:24Across the region, the death toll continues to rise as the war grinds on into its second month.
01:31Despite making diplomatic overtures, the United States has also been sending more military assets
01:36into the region.
01:39According to the Washington Post, the Pentagon was preparing plans for weeks of ground operations,
01:44potentially including raids on sites near the Strait of Hormuz, though Trump has not yet approved
01:49any deployment.
