Qatar and Ukraine sign defence agreement as Zelenskyy's Gulf tour shapes new partnerships

Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived in Doha on Saturday amid his tour around the Gulf region, one month since the beginning of the Iran war.

00:13the United Arab Emirates on defense, as the Ukrainian leader tours Gulf Arab states amid
00:19Iran's aerial campaign against its neighbors. Zelenskyy has this week visited Saudi Arabia,
00:26the UAE and Qatar. Ukraine's president has repeatedly said that what Ukraine needs first
00:32and foremost is air defense from Russia's ballistic missiles, in exchange for sharing
00:37his expertise and experience in countering Iranian drones. Qatar, together with Saudi Arabia, the UAE,
00:44Bahrain, Jordan and Kuwait, sent official requests regarding possible cooperation with Ukraine over
00:51its drone countering expertise. Ukraine has sent over 200 drone countering experts to the region,
00:57the president said.
