00:00Hello, I'm Angela Scanlon and welcome to The Apprentice Unfinished Business,
00:04where we unpack the chaos and the commercial strategy.
00:07Coming up, I'll be chatting to our fired candidate, Rajan,
00:10as sadly it was game over for him.
00:12Lord Sugar shares his thinking behind giving Lawrence another chance,
00:16and I will not be playing solo.
00:18I'm joined by radio presenter OJ Borge
00:20and strictly professional dancer Karen Hauer.
00:23So grab your controllers, it's time for The Apprentice Unfinished Business.
00:32OJ and Karen, everybody!
00:36Well, that was one spicy boardroom, wasn't it?
00:39Oh, my word.
00:40No messing around.
00:41Spicy.
00:41Lawrence, Levi and Rajan, I honestly did not know which way he was going to go.
00:46Sack them all.
00:47Did you think it was going to be another treble?
00:49Well, because he's turned into a Roman emperor, isn't he?
00:51He's loving it.
00:52He's literally like, or a non-benevolent Oprah Winfrey.
00:55You're a fired and you're a fired, everyone's getting fired, out you go.
00:58And I was shocked, because I actually thought they were all going to go again.
01:01And there was going to be one person left for the rest of the series.
01:04It did feel like there was a flavour of that,
01:06where it was like, it's hard to differentiate here.
01:09The wrath was starting to bubble.
01:12I loved it.
01:12Did you?
01:13I like that wrath.
01:14You like when he goes a bit rogue.
01:16Yes, you have to.
01:18You have to keep him on their toes.
01:19Are we shocked that it was Rajan who was fired in the end?
01:23I wouldn't have picked him.
01:25Okay.
01:25I would have picked...
01:27Who would you have picked?
01:28I would have picked Lawrence.
01:29Okay.
01:29I mean, but then again, he did put himself out there.
01:32You know, I guess he was putting himself out there for everything, to be honest.
01:36So, and, you know, if you're not putting yourself out there,
01:41then it's not going to work.
01:42You're going to go.
01:43So the fact that he hung back was probably what did it in the end.
01:47What about Lawrence's little move?
01:50What, bringing Levi back in?
01:52Yeah.
01:52Well, I think anybody in this series who has tried to cosy up,
01:57and I'm choosing the words very precisely,
01:59cosy up to Lord Sugar, I think has ended up getting binned off.
02:03I think it's such a terrible move because he can smell it coming.
02:05He does not like it.
02:06He doesn't like it.
02:07Like, do not try and play the game.
02:08Yeah.
02:08Because I do think had he said Levi for this reason, that reason,
02:12he could have pulled something out somewhere.
02:14Levi has...
02:15I don't want to say it because I'm slightly scared of Levi,
02:16but he hasn't done much.
02:18Yeah, so he could have legitimately brought him in with a reason
02:22other than, oh, you said you weren't quite into it.
02:24So the fact that he didn't do...
02:26He wasn't the voice in the face of the game.
02:28I mean, that was it.
02:29That was his whole input into the task.
02:31Shall we listen to Lord Sugar's message of the week, please?
02:34This time explaining why he kept Lawrence in the game.
02:39Angela, I know some of you might be shocked by who got fired,
02:43but Lawrence, yes, he made mistakes, but he owned them,
02:49and that counts for a lot.
02:51He's never hidden.
02:53He can sell, and I like that.
02:56But mark my words, one more slip from anyone,
02:59and it might not be such a lucky escape.
03:03Card is marked.
03:05Lord Sugar doesn't look like a voice noted to me.
03:07Could you imagine?
03:09No, he's great.
03:10Has he done a video?
03:11Has he got into video notes yet?
03:12He just did the little circle ones the odd time.
03:15Yeah.
03:15Those I find so weird.
03:17Me too, I don't know how they work.
03:18But Lord Sugar does.
03:19He's ahead.
03:20He's ahead of everything.
03:22Back at the house, Lawrence was beyond embarrassed
03:25about the decisions that he made
03:27to bring the lads back into the boardroom.
03:29Do you think he's taken those lessons on board?
03:32Well, I quite like that Lawrence felt embarrassed,
03:34because it does feel like when they get into the boardroom,
03:36it is every person for themselves, and it has to be.
03:38I mean, that's the point of it, isn't it?
03:40And you sort of see them afterwards say, you know,
03:42sorry, or, you know, I'm glad you made it through.
03:44There is some camaraderie there, but this is a process.
03:47Business is tough, and they're trying to win investment
03:50from Lord Sugar.
03:51And I think the fact that he was embarrassed,
03:53I've never seen anyone that embarrassed in The Apprentice.
03:55He was mortified.
03:56I've never seen anyone that mortified.
03:58Can he come back from this, Karen, do you think?
04:02Lawrence, 100%.
04:02Yeah.
04:03I mean, I think he's got what it takes, you know.
04:05He's got that willpower, and he wants to succeed.
04:08Yeah.
04:09You know, so he'll try every different kind of way.
04:11He's testing the waters.
04:13So he'll definitely, you know,
04:15I think he's definitely got something in the back pocket.
04:18And at this stage in the process,
04:20I guess it is close off.
04:22They've got to do what they've got to do to survive.
04:24And I imagine sitting in that boardroom,
04:26survival of the fittest.
04:27Instincts kick in, and whatever loyalty you have,
04:29or whatever the reality is, kind of goes out the window.
04:32Well, Levi's going to be project manager next week,
04:34and he'll be doing the same thing.
04:35Because, you know, whatever happens,
04:37I think out of all of The Apprentice shows that I've watched,
04:40it's very rarely that something goes right.
04:43It's normally who goes less wrong.
04:45It's how it normally works.
04:48Well, it just is.
04:49It just is.
04:49I thought the flower task was one of the few rare moments
04:52where they both had a clear idea of what they wanted.
04:54You know, one went high end, one went lower.
04:56You know, like it was clear ideas.
04:58It's just one team did a little bit better.
05:00So I think something will go wrong next week,
05:02and he will be trying to shove the blame off.
05:03And it will be, from him being,
05:05oh, you know, you shouldn't have brought me back in,
05:06he'll do the same to someone next week.
05:07It will absolutely happen.
05:08Fine.
05:09All's fair in love and...
05:10Business.
05:11That one.
05:11Getting fired.
05:13So, task seven.
05:14Our candidates had to create their own game and an avatar
05:17with the promotional video.
05:19You two, obviously very much into your fitness.
05:23You can tell.
05:25I did 45 squats outside just to get pumped up before this.
05:28Did you?
05:28Did you?
05:29That's actually not a joke.
05:30We can't see your legs.
05:31You should have done 45 press-ups.
05:33Knew there was a mistake I was making.
05:35Wait until Karen tells you about her game idea.
05:37That's the reason I was actually doing squats.
05:38Keep it on the reps.
05:39Come on.
05:40Go on.
05:40So, is this task made for you?
05:43Absolutely.
05:44Go on, hit me with this.
05:45Do you want to know?
05:45I do.
05:46I have no money to invest, but I'm here.
05:48Well, I was thinking, maybe we start out with squats.
05:50How many squats can you do in 30 seconds?
05:52Say 50.
05:53Yeah.
05:5350 squats in 30 seconds?
05:55Yeah.
05:56Can you?
05:56And then you've got to be pulled up off the floor.
05:5850.
05:58Can you do 50?
05:59That's not physically possible.
06:00Go.
06:01Okay, I'll say.
06:01In them shoes.
06:02Go.
06:03Okay.
06:04I didn't realise you were doing it on a sofa.
06:07I can do 50 on the sitting down.
06:09You know, let's, okay, let's say 15 in 30 seconds.
06:12That's more like.
06:13Well, that's easy now.
06:13Yeah.
06:14Well, we're going to, that's level one.
06:15One, two.
06:16Level one.
06:16Yeah.
06:17Okay.
06:17And then you take whatever time you have left and you add it to the last section, because
06:22obviously you are going to get to the last section, where you're going to have a face-off
06:25or a squat-off.
06:26Like a dance-off.
06:28Yeah.
06:28Never Google that.
06:29Yes.
06:30Squat-off against the squatting king.
06:32I don't know.
06:32Great.
06:33Lots of words you should never Google there.
06:37Squatting king.
06:39What did you make, OJ, of the task?
06:41I thought it was a great idea.
06:42The whole gamification of fitness, I think, is a great thing.
06:45I think it's a difficult task, though.
06:46Because I think two days to come up with both an idea that's going to work and a game
06:51is tough.
06:52Great one to put on.
06:53Is it?
06:53Yeah, I think so.
06:54I mean, I just came up with, you know.
06:56She did it.
06:57I take it back.
06:57They should have had Karen there.
06:5830 seconds.
06:59The squat queen.
07:00No idea what's happening, but it's fine.
07:02The girls took control, didn't they?
07:04We had Karishma on Team Alpha and then Pasha and Rothner on Team Eclipse.
07:08Let's talk about Karishma first off.
07:11What did you make of her bossing the game?
07:14Amazing.
07:15Incredible.
07:15Amazing.
07:16And I loved how she took the game, and I loved how she had a clear idea, and she had
07:20a phrase.
07:21And I must admit, I have made a note, because I don't remember anything.
07:22Well, I hope so, given that you've got an A4 pad.
07:25Hit me.
07:26I'm 46.
07:26My brain doesn't work anymore.
07:28And I wanted to repeat this quote.
07:30And somebody asked her, when she was talking about the future and the flying cars, and
07:33you know, who's driving the cars, I don't care.
07:35It's the future.
07:36It's going to be my new go-to line for anything.
07:38She goes, well, why doesn't this work?
07:40It's the future.
07:41I don't care.
07:41It's the future.
07:42Get on board or die.
07:44So she was absolutely on board with it.
07:46The clear idea, she understood gaming.
07:48She understood the fact that you have to earn tokens.
07:50There has to be some sort of progression.
07:51So she was absolutely on it.
07:53She took no prisoners.
07:54Yeah.
07:54She bossed it.
07:55She was never challenged, though, on anything.
07:58Like, maybe there was nothing to challenge her on.
08:00No, but she was challenged.
08:01And she shut them down.
08:02Yeah.
08:02Like, it was the whole, I don't care, it's the future.
08:04It was like, I've got this idea, I'm going to go for it.
08:06Yeah.
08:06Okay.
08:06And I think that's how you have to be, though.
08:08Yeah.
08:08Especially if you have an idea.
08:09Just, like, blind belief.
08:10100%.
08:10Good.
08:11But nobody said anything because she was so sure of what she was saying.
08:17Her confidence and conviction is hard to argue with, isn't it?
08:22Do you think she was the reason that they were?
08:24Yeah, I think so.
08:24Absolutely.
08:25I think she was the strongest member of that team.
08:27She should have been project manager.
08:28There was no reason, you know, the fact that they gave it to someone else was ridiculous.
08:32Which Kieran did flag, to be fair.
08:34The fact that Harry had gone for a run.
08:35Yeah, nice one.
08:36Yeah.
08:38Oh, you've been jogging.
08:39Excellent.
08:40On the other hand, you had Pasha and Rothner.
08:42Maybe they didn't boss the game development, but they still took the reins.
08:47Frogs, discuss.
08:48Listen, at first they didn't have any structure.
08:51So they kind of just were thinking on their feet and just pointing.
08:54Anything out there, hence the frogs.
08:56Yeah.
08:57I mean, it is scary to run away from frogs and it'll make you run really quickly.
09:00I imagine.
09:01But I just didn't, I didn't, I mean, have they done any kind of fitness before?
09:06Or, you know.
09:07It's the future.
09:08They don't care.
09:12And you know what?
09:13Yeah, I'll take that.
09:14But I just don't understand why that specific.
09:18It was an unusual approach, I would say.
09:21Maybe it's because, you know, if it's in the future, anything goes.
09:24But that didn't go at all.
09:26I mean, Rajan, to his credit, did on a number of occasions attempt to say, aren't we doing aerobics?
09:33Does this feel like we've gotten away a little bit?
09:35But he, you know, maybe didn't offer enough in the way of a suggestion.
09:41But he definitely pinpointed.
09:44He flagged it.
09:45He flagged it.
09:45But he didn't give anything else back.
09:47And that's something that's come up in the boardroom.
09:49A lot, lots of people were being negative about things.
09:51Because it's easy.
09:51You know, you can say, well, this isn't going to work.
09:53I can't come up with an idea for this.
09:54You have to have a solution.
09:56Yeah.
09:56Otherwise, you'll just say no.
09:57Yeah.
09:57If you just say it doesn't work, OK, great.
09:59Well, what are we going to do instead?
10:00What now?
10:00Yeah.
10:00Yeah, fine.
10:01Whereas he was going, girls, go again.
10:03Yeah.
10:03Go again.
10:03Go again.
10:04Yeah.
10:04So, meanwhile, the boys were left to their own devices.
10:07And we ended up with, well, let's have a little reminder.
10:10Hi, I'm your fitness cyborg personal trainer.
10:14Powering up there, PT.
10:17Support your cyber boots.
10:19Harry's team.
10:20And I will see you on the cyber track.
10:24The elephant in the room, or two, maybe.
10:29That character has boobs and no one's talking about it.
10:32It needed a sports bra.
10:33Or nipples.
10:36I was going to say it, but I didn't want to mention it.
10:38I didn't know if it was, you know, to not be Gina.
10:42But if it's unisex, both men and women have nipples.
10:45What?
10:46No.
10:46I know.
10:47Stop it.
10:47Some of them work, some of them don't, but they have them.
10:49That's the point.
10:50Team Eclipse and the PT.
10:52OK, now we're talking.
10:54Felt less weird.
10:56Too corporate.
10:58OK.
10:59Too corporate.
11:00Yeah.
11:00And we talked about this.
11:01We did, yeah.
11:02You could have made corporate a game.
11:04Yes.
11:04Imagine it.
11:05VR corporate.
11:06So you're literally having to go through live,
11:08having to suck up to bosses.
11:09Lots of squatting again there.
11:11With briefcases.
11:12With briefcases.
11:13Stacking things.
11:14Smacking other people down as you climb the corporate ladder.
11:18Mansplaining.
11:19Mansplaining.
11:20Was Laurence right to demote Levi?
11:23Because it felt like, OK, Levi, you're up.
11:25He's ready to embody that PT, you know, persona.
11:30And then he's benched.
11:35I'm not 100% sure it was the wrong decision.
11:37I think Levi's great, but he wasn't doing a lot else.
11:40And the fact that, yes, he could have been the PT,
11:41he could have been that person.
11:42But he wasn't allowed to do a lot else.
11:43I know.
11:44But surely he should have been a bit more forceful.
11:47It was probably the wrong thing to do for Laurence in the end.
11:49As we saw through, you know, he ended up bringing Levi back in
11:52and we saw the whole thing and the embarrassment went with it.
11:54But to all intents and purposes, it didn't really matter in the moment.
11:58Why do you think he did that to Levi?
12:01I just don't think...
12:02I seriously think Laurence just wanted to kind of just do everything himself.
12:06But maybe if you put yourself on the line,
12:08there's that thing of they can't say, well, you didn't do enough.
12:11Yeah.
12:11Because I think in Laurence's defence, what he kind of said was,
12:14we thought that it was a physical requirement,
12:18like that we needed a personal trainer, right?
12:21And in reality, it was more of an acting role.
12:23And then there was a kind of reference to his neutral accent,
12:27which I think Levi then felt was he had been demoted
12:32because of his Yorkshire twang.
12:34I mean, no-one likes accents, do they?
12:36I'm joking. I was joking.
12:38We've got quite a saucy...
12:41Quite a saucy cage of accents today, actually.
12:44What are you talking about?
12:45Oh, my God, I take it back.
12:47Hey, I'm from New York.
12:48I think he should have done it for the accent
12:50because the accent makes it really idiosyncratically brilliant.
12:53Totally.
12:53And then you understand what's going on at the moment.
12:55And Laurence went for that received pronunciation.
12:57Oh, we're going to have it.
12:58It's going to be 100%.
13:00And now you can hear me doing some fitness.
13:02Isn't this wonderful?
13:03Look at this guy.
13:05It's giving radio too.
13:07Karen, why'd you do that?
13:08So, yeah, I mean, he should have kept the broad Yorkshire in there.
13:13It would have been wonderful and beautiful.
13:14It is time to welcome our fired candidate, Rajan,
13:17whose journey stopped just short of the next level,
13:19although his negotiating during the process, well, that was top tier.
13:23Let's remind ourselves.
13:25What would be the best price you could do on this?
13:27$3,000 a month.
13:29$3,000.
13:29$3,000.
13:30Are they handmade by yourself?
13:32Yeah.
13:32They all look very, very good quality.
13:34Oh, wow, they're lovely.
13:36Absolutely.
13:36What would be the best price you could be able to do this for us?
13:41$2,500.
13:42In my pocket right now, this is all I have.
13:46This is $2,300.
13:48Can we make a deal?
13:50Look at me.
13:51I think it's OK.
13:52It's OK, that's OK.
13:54Thank you so much.
13:58Rajan, everybody.
14:01I'd like to know how much money he's got in his pocket right now.
14:05It's a great one, though, isn't it?
14:07It's like, oh, no, I've only got a fiver.
14:08One, 20, I've only got a fiver.
14:09Exactly.
14:10I mean, let's put it this way.
14:11When you show someone money in front of their face,
14:14are they going to turn it down?
14:15No.
14:15Absolutely not.
14:16No.
14:16But one of the things that I...
14:17That's why we're all here today.
14:18Yes.
14:20One thing I absolutely love about that Hong Kong negotiation was
14:23is that although he believed that there was only that money in the pocket,
14:26he didn't know how much I had in the other pocket.
14:28Oh!
14:30Sneaky, sneaky.
14:30You have to be.
14:31Is that where you felt most confident?
14:35In terms of negotiation-wise with corporate clients, absolutely.
14:37I feel like that was my strong point within the actual process itself.
14:42I mean, my nickname in the house by the candidates was Corporate King.
14:45Corporate King.
14:46So I kind of took that and went full-fledged.
14:49Well, because the flowers and then in Egypt, again, a really great price.
14:51So there was a kind of sense that, okay,
14:53we'll have him in our back pocket and we get a nice price.
14:58Task seven.
14:59There was chat about your lack of contribution,
15:03but you kind of mentioned that you were maybe excluded from the process.
15:09What was going on?
15:10I mean, it was very, very difficult to try and get my points across.
15:14I mean, I felt like Pasha and Rothson,
15:16they were both very passionate about what they were trying to create.
15:19Frogs.
15:20With the frogs, absolutely.
15:21The demonised frogs.
15:24Yeah, I just didn't quite understand the concept.
15:26I really wanted to try and deter away from the frogs,
15:28but they weren't listening.
15:29And yeah, I mean, I...
15:31Well, if you would have picked something else,
15:32what would you have picked instead of the frogs?
15:34I mean, to be fair, I mean, my actual initial concept for this game
15:38was more of a fitness kind of route.
15:41So my suggestion was...
15:42Which was the task.
15:43Well, yeah, I mean, the actual game itself,
15:46my idea was to have, like, a game
15:48of which you're running from the forest
15:50and collecting ingredients to, like, make a new recipe
15:53so that you're actually learning, like, protein kind of meals and juices.
15:58Also, carrot on a string.
16:00Like, nothing encourages me to work out more than the promise of food at the end.
16:04And then the good thing about it was,
16:06as you're doing the game, not only are you working out,
16:08but you're also learning new recipes of which are healthy.
16:10That's such a great idea.
16:12Yeah, right.
16:12Like a little cheese toasty.
16:15You've got Lord Sugar's number.
16:16Get him on the phone.
16:17OK, here we go.
16:18Get him back on.
16:21Rematch! Rematch!
16:22How did you feel Lawrence was as PM?
16:25You know what?
16:26I felt like...
16:27I think he meant well.
16:28I think he thought he was going to do a great job
16:31in terms of actually delivering upon that.
16:33It just wasn't quite there.
16:35I mean, this whole concept about life insurance,
16:38and I don't know where he was going with that.
16:39I liked that.
16:40I think the idea of life insurance,
16:41if you need to encourage people to do it,
16:43if you talk about the fact your life insurance
16:45is going to cost £100 a year,
16:46but if you work out on this game
16:48and you're going to do it once a week for 52 weeks a year,
16:50your life insurance comes down by 50%.
16:52I think there's a real incentive there.
16:54So I actually didn't mind that idea.
16:55If not life insurance,
16:56something about bringing costs down for fitness benefits.
16:59I actually didn't mind it.
17:00I thought it was clever,
17:01but it was slightly aside from the point of the task, maybe.
17:06If you had been PM,
17:07aside from the game idea,
17:09how would you have handled the team differently?
17:12Well, I mean, being a part of the design process,
17:15I mean, in hindsight,
17:16if I was PM,
17:17I would have made sure I gave a very clear brief in the morning
17:20to say,
17:20these are the things I want to be involved in the game
17:23in terms of design element and the process,
17:25you know,
17:25we want to be seeing these kinds of characters
17:27or these kinds of colours
17:28or this kind of environment.
17:30We would just try to wing it
17:31and it didn't work.
17:33Frogs.
17:33It seems like you were put off by it.
17:35Like you kind of just,
17:36not that you didn't care,
17:37but it was just a bit like,
17:39well, if the,
17:40if the,
17:41you know,
17:41the main person that's supposed to be giving me the structure
17:44is not being clear,
17:46then I don't know where else to take it.
17:47But then this is where you guys have to kind of really show
17:49you know,
17:50what you're,
17:51what you're there for.
17:52Yeah.
17:52So,
17:53but it seemed like you were kind of just like,
17:55over it.
17:56Over,
17:56yes.
17:57I just knew that every kind of point I was making
17:59was not being put across.
18:01Like they weren't,
18:01they just wasn't listening to my input.
18:03It wasn't landing.
18:03That's why I was like,
18:04like I was,
18:05I didn't put myself in the background
18:07or anything like that.
18:07I mean,
18:07I was still giving contributions
18:09throughout the actual game itself
18:10and I put quite a lot of elements
18:12within the game itself.
18:14But yeah,
18:15it just got to a point where I was like,
18:17we're doomed.
18:19Can I,
18:20can I,
18:20my favourite contribution you made
18:21was when you said,
18:22just because you bake a cake
18:23doesn't make you Mr. Kipling.
18:25I thought,
18:26I was that moment,
18:26I was like,
18:27wow,
18:27okay,
18:28let's see how that comes back.
18:30Do you know what it is?
18:30I think with the show,
18:31right,
18:32you have to be so careful
18:33with all the candidates.
18:34And you weren't there.
18:36And then just forgot about it.
18:37Do you know what?
18:38I did,
18:39I did lose my rag a little bit.
18:40It was a very high stressed environment.
18:42And they just kept going along the route.
18:44I think in the morning,
18:45I must have mentioned,
18:46oh,
18:46when I was a kid,
18:47I must have played a video game.
18:49And then immediately,
18:50I was branded as this gamer.
18:52And it just kept on me repeating all day
18:54until the point where it was niggling me
18:55and it just got to the point
18:56where I was erupting
18:56and I was like,
18:57just because I've played a game
18:58does not make me a gamer.
19:00If you bake a cake,
19:02I wouldn't call you a baker.
19:05I thought it was a pretty good line.
19:06I thought it was a great line
19:09and it landed so badly.
19:10I know,
19:11I know.
19:12I think in the boardroom as well,
19:14Baroness Brady picked up on it
19:15and she looked at me
19:16and she went,
19:17oh,
19:17that was rude.
19:18And I was like,
19:18oh God,
19:19what have I done?
19:20You're done.
19:21You're done.
19:21You left the process,
19:23Rajan,
19:23without ever having the chance to be PM.
19:26Was that a conscious decision
19:27or were you hanging around
19:28waiting for the right task?
19:30No,
19:30I mean,
19:31it was definitely,
19:31it wasn't conscious.
19:32I mean,
19:32I put myself up for,
19:33for PM twice.
19:34But I think in terms of being sub PM though,
19:37of which I was twice.
19:39I feel like-
19:39Now you won twice as sub PM.
19:40Exactly.
19:42We're both with the corporate negotiations
19:43on that side of the deal as well.
19:45I don't think being sub PM,
19:46you don't get enough flowers for it
19:48because just because,
19:49you know,
19:50you're not the PM,
19:51if you do lose a task,
19:53as a sub PM,
19:53you're immediately looked upon
19:54to be brought back.
19:56just as accountable as the PM itself.
19:58So,
19:59I mean,
19:59to answer your question,
20:00I would have loved to have been PM,
20:02but I'm very happy with the two times
20:04that I was sub PM.
20:05You didn't offer yourself
20:06to pitch the game,
20:09right?
20:09Do you still stand by that decision?
20:11Because it kind of came back
20:12to haunt you,
20:12didn't it?
20:13You know what?
20:13It bit me in the backside
20:14in the boardroom.
20:16I feel like
20:17it was the right thing to do,
20:19in my opinion.
20:19I don't take,
20:20I don't regret that decision.
20:22I feel like
20:22with all of my negotiations
20:24throughout the actual season itself,
20:26you could tell I was very passionate
20:27about what I was doing.
20:29I just didn't get that
20:30from this game
20:31and I knew that
20:31you can't pitch something
20:34if you're not passionate about it.
20:35So,
20:36I just felt like
20:36Rothner,
20:37Pasha and Lawrence
20:38were the right people to do that.
20:40But then you had lots of,
20:41on the sidelines,
20:42you had lots of
20:43things to say.
20:44It felt like there was
20:45definitely a bit of passion there.
20:46There was passion,
20:48but I just didn't really believe
20:49in the product that we created.
20:50But surely you have sold stuff
20:52and pitched stuff
20:52in your career
20:53that you've not believed in.
20:54What?
20:54That's part of the job,
20:55isn't it?
20:56Sometimes we have to do things.
20:59I'll try.
21:01I mean,
21:01surely that's the job though,
21:03isn't it?
21:03Especially on something
21:04like The Apprentice,
21:04the fact you're not going
21:05to believe in everything.
21:06In fact,
21:06I mean,
21:07what thing in your life
21:08have you ever truly believed
21:09in you've had to sell?
21:10So surely
21:10that is the job,
21:12isn't it?
21:12It's a valid point
21:13about the same time.
21:14If I can get out of that
21:15scenario
21:15and go down
21:16the consumer market route
21:18of which I did,
21:18I felt like my skills
21:19were in this instance
21:20better aligned for that.
21:22You were preserving
21:23your integrity.
21:23Exactly.
21:24We should applaud you.
21:26Not berate you.
21:27Well done.
21:29Okay,
21:30do not worry.
21:30We did see
21:31a little bit
21:32of your pitching
21:33in action
21:34in some moments.
21:35Some were more successful
21:37than others.
21:38Should we relive
21:38the moment
21:39that you
21:40may be annoyed?
21:41Big Zoo,
21:42tiny little bit?
21:43Let's not.
21:45We kind of opted
21:46to go for a carton.
21:47We were also thinking
21:48of going towards
21:49down the can route,
21:50but you know,
21:50the cans,
21:50I feel like
21:51a lot of people
21:52are doing them
21:53at the moment.
21:53And also,
21:54if you have open a can,
21:55you're going to have
21:56to drink that
21:56in one sitting.
21:58The carton,
21:59you know,
21:59you're not dissing
21:59up the cans.
22:00I'm a can man.
22:01I'm going to take
22:02that to my heart
22:02and I'm...
22:05Sorry.
22:10Just run away
22:12immediately.
22:13floor open,
22:14jump.
22:14Can I point out
22:15one thing?
22:15You walked in here
22:16today drinking
22:17water out of a can.
22:18It's all they've
22:19got here,
22:19aren't they?
22:20Yeah, yeah.
22:20Be fair.
22:22And do you know,
22:22I never realised
22:23there's only one brand
22:24who actually does
22:25a resealable
22:25can of water
22:27and it was so awkward
22:28to open.
22:28It's very awkward
22:29to open.
22:30I think it was
22:31a fair point
22:32about the can
22:33and it not being
22:35reusable, resealable.
22:36It was just maybe
22:37knowing that the lad
22:38who was right there
22:39did the can.
22:40He was the can man.
22:42Know your audience.
22:43I mean,
22:43I fumbled there.
22:44I fully put my hands
22:45up on that.
22:46Before Lord Sugar
22:47fired you,
22:48he did say this
22:48might not be fair.
22:50What did you make
22:51of that?
22:51Do you know what?
22:52I'll take that.
22:53I mean,
22:53because at least
22:53it wasn't like last week
22:55when there was
22:56a triple fire
22:56and it was literally
22:57just like fired,
22:58fired, fired.
22:59At least this time,
23:00you know,
23:00it was like,
23:01I might regret this.
23:02You know,
23:03it might be the wrong
23:03thing to do.
23:05Then I got the finger.
23:06Yeah.
23:06So I'll take that.
23:07But I can honestly say
23:08I've left this process
23:09feeling so proud of myself.
23:11So,
23:11and I think that's my win.
23:13Yeah.
23:13How bitter are you
23:14in the taxi on the way out?
23:15I mean,
23:15just on general principle.
23:16I was going to ask that.
23:17Because the thing is,
23:18I watch these
23:18and everyone goes,
23:19I've enjoyed being here.
23:21Yeah.
23:21I know I'm great.
23:23But what a great experience
23:24and you could just feel.
23:26Is it?
23:27You know what?
23:28It's such a,
23:29when you're sat in that taxi,
23:30it's such a humble feeling,
23:32thinking,
23:33you know what?
23:33It's so like,
23:34you're reflecting on everything
23:35that's just happened
23:36over the past
23:37X amount of weeks.
23:38It's a lot to process.
23:39Is there relief?
23:39There is a bit of relief.
23:41I mean,
23:41it's a very difficult process
23:43to be a part of.
23:45But at the same time,
23:46I wouldn't change it
23:47for the world.
23:47What have you learned
23:48about yourself
23:49in the process?
23:50You know what?
23:51It's been such a fantastic process.
23:52You really have to back yourself
23:54in life.
23:54If no,
23:55no one,
23:55because no one's going to do it for you.
23:56You have to always be
23:57your biggest advocate.
23:59Make sure you're being heard
24:00in a room.
24:01And just,
24:02you know,
24:02just put yourself
24:03in the deep end sometimes.
24:05Well,
24:05it was absolutely lovely
24:06watching you.
24:07Thank you so,
24:08so much.
24:09We're going to move on
24:10to Boardroom Bangers Gang,
24:12where our guests
24:12choose a little soundtrack
24:14that they feel
24:14best represented the task.
24:16Karen,
24:16you're up first.
24:17Well,
24:18I mean,
24:18since the subject
24:19was fitness,
24:21I mean,
24:22I've had to go with this.
24:28Oh,
24:30I bet you've danced to this
24:31on more than one occasion.
24:33That's me in 1982
24:34with my headband.
24:36Never on Strictly.
24:37What could you dance to that?
24:40Mambo.
24:41How dare you?
24:42Mambo.
24:43Sorry,
24:43I'm on.
24:44Mambo.
24:45I don't know.
24:46Cha-cha.
24:47Cha-cha.
24:47Cha-cha-cha.
24:48Okay.
24:49Grace.
24:49You can do squats to that,
24:50definitely.
24:51You can do 50 in 30 seconds.
24:52You can do 50 squats
24:53in 30 seconds.
24:54In 30 seconds?
24:55That's a big ask.
24:56Yeah,
24:56exactly.
24:56It's a big ask.
24:57That's a big ask.
24:57Listen,
24:58do you remember
24:58you said
24:58that you have to
24:59show up for yourself
25:00and believe in yourself?
25:01I'll back myself.
25:02There you go.
25:02Back yourself.
25:03Let's do it.
25:04He can do 50.
25:05OJ,
25:06what have you gone?
25:07So I think one of the themes
25:09that ran through
25:09this entire episode
25:11was frogs.
25:12And there was a moment
25:13when they were talking
25:14about frogs.
25:15My boardroom banger
25:15is about frogs
25:16and there was a moment
25:17on stage
25:18when someone went,
25:18it's frogs,
25:20it's crazy,
25:21it's crazy frogs,
25:22therefore I've chosen this.
25:24Oh my God.
25:38I said frogs.
25:40We couldn't get clearance
25:41with crazy frogs.
25:42We couldn't,
25:43that's the true story.
25:43But it was such a choice.
25:45But you know,
25:46four non-blondes,
25:46what's up?
25:47Yeah.
25:48Brilliant.
25:48What's going on?
25:49Second choice,
25:49what is going on?
25:51Right,
25:51shall we move?
25:53Swiftly on.
25:54Sweating.
25:54Task,
25:55that's a good sign,
25:56babe.
25:56Yeah.
25:57Task eight,
25:58where we're going to see
25:59the candidates going for
26:00a discount buying
26:012.0.
26:03This time they'll be
26:04gallivanting
26:05to the Isle of Wight
26:06and yes,
26:06I do have an exclusive clip,
26:07you're very welcome.
26:08I was wondering
26:09if to start off
26:10we could look at
26:11around the 27.50 mark.
26:15That's quite a substantial
26:17discount.
26:18It is,
26:19it is a little bit.
26:2035 a bar.
26:23Again,
26:24I do struggle
26:25to see
26:26what it is
26:27we're getting out
26:28of this arrangement.
26:29We would love
26:30to offer something
26:31in return
26:31if there is something
26:32we can do.
26:33Feed the goats.
26:36That's a joy,
26:37people love to do that.
26:38For 30,
26:39we will literally
26:39do anything.
26:41Wow.
26:42For 30,
26:43he will literally
26:43do anything?
26:44Anything.
26:45Anything.
26:45Anything.
26:46Yeah,
26:47he is committed
26:48to the bit,
26:49it seems.
26:50Well,
26:50let's just hope
26:51they do a better job
26:52than Hong Kong.
26:52I know,
26:53right?
26:54What lengths have you
26:54gone to for a discount,
26:55Karen?
26:56None.
26:57I don't like discounts.
26:58I mean,
26:58I like discounts.
26:59What?
26:59What's wrong with you?
27:00Yeah.
27:00It's just,
27:01it's too much
27:03faffing
27:04and back and forth.
27:05That's the joy.
27:06That's the game.
27:08I'm bored.
27:09I want to teach my kids
27:10how to haggle.
