00:00which then leads us into, let's talk about some of these teams
00:03who will be playing this year, Craig, with not high expectations,
00:05and that's those Colorado Rockies.
00:07Did you know, Craig, on the County Marketplace,
00:09pro baseball's worst record by a landslide at a 55% chance are those Rockies?
00:16How about that?
00:18Yeah, it should be.
00:19You know, I think the thing, well, I've seen the Rockies now play,
00:22so yes, they're the worst team in baseball, and it's probably not close.
00:25But I would say this, Donnie, in the Rockies' worst seasons,
00:30when you go back and look at their worst seasons,
00:32they always play well at home, even when they stink.
00:35So I still think there is a long shot of them not having the worst record in baseball,
00:42and I do like their market better at home.
00:45I would be bullish a little bit at home.
00:47For whatever reason, they lose 100, but they're like a 500 team at home.
00:52But yeah, their roster is rough.
00:54I follow baseball very closely, and there were four or five guys
00:57that I saw this weekend in Colorado that I didn't know who they were.
01:00I hate to admit it.
01:01I did my research, of course, before the games when I prepped,
01:03but I did not know.
01:04I was like, wait, who is this guy?
01:06I did not know.
01:09So yeah, it's going to be a really long year for them.
01:11I believe they're still lottery eligible.
01:13I think so.
01:14Remember, there's a new rule that you can't be in the lottery three years in a row.
01:17But yeah, they're going to be – look, it's a new regime.
01:21Paul DiBodesta is running things now.
01:23It's completely different.
01:24They're finally embracing analytics and everything else.
01:27It's not a tanking season for the Rockies, but they're going to be bad.
01:30Let me ask you a question on this too, Craig,
01:32because Tom Vecchio and I go back and forth all the time.
01:34Can baseball work in Colorado?
01:36And this is what I say.
01:37I've never been there.
01:38Say, it's a wonderful ballpark to watch a game at.
01:40They have fan support.
01:41It's a big market.
01:42But just that high above sea level when you're trying to attract free agents.
01:46Hitters, yeah, they'll love to come there.
01:47But can you get top-flight pitchers here that are free agents, Craig,
01:51that actually want to go to Colorado?
01:53Because if we're talking about legacy means a lot, hey,
01:56I can finish my career with a 295 ERA, print my stamp there,
01:59and go into Cooperstown, or I can go there, take a lot of money,
02:02and instead of a 2.95, I have a 4.25 here.
02:06Like, does it work in Colorado?
02:08I mean, Mike Hampton many years ago, remember that name?
02:11He was the one that broke the mold and he took the money.
02:14Look, they've had Ubaldo Jimenez had one great half a season.
02:17He's had made the All-Star team.
02:19It's going to be very hard, Donnie.
02:21They're going to have to draft and develop and figure that out.
02:25Will guys take the money now?
02:27Probably not.
02:28With a new collective bargaining agreement,
02:30I think that they would be forced to maybe in some way.
02:33Yeah.
02:33So they've tried, and they've tried a lot of different pitching coordinators
02:38and people, right, like humans, to try and get this fixed.
02:41I don't know that they'll ever get there, but I will say this.
02:45They have gotten to a World Series, remember, in the last, I believe,
02:4820 or 25 years, and they have made the playoffs a couple of times
02:52with those guys, the Bombers, right?
02:54What was it?
02:55What Street Bombers?
02:57I don't remember what street it is in Denver.
02:59I forget.
03:00But they had Andres Galarraga and Dante Bichette,
03:05and then they had Matt Holiday for a while with Todd Helton.
03:08So I would say that the franchise is not in bad space, Donnie.
03:12They get 20,000, 25,000 people every game, win or lose there,
03:15no matter what.
03:16Great family town, too.
03:17But as far as fixing the pitching, if that's what you're asking me,
03:20it hasn't been fixed yet since 1993.
03:23It's been a while, too.
03:24Like, I remember, again, bringing back my Phillies days.
03:26What was it, back in 07, where they came to town
03:28and put it on the Phillies in the wild card?
03:30And the Phillies eventually got a World Series in 08.
03:32Blake Street.
03:32Blake Street Bombers.
03:34Blake Street Bombers.
03:35There you go.
03:35It's the hammer out.
03:36Boy, Holiday was an absolute monster out there.
