00:00Gas cylinder supplies will be stopped for those houses which have piped natural gas
00:04connectivity available is what the government has mandated. If you use an LPG
00:07cylinder at home, here's how you can check whether a gas pipeline has reached
00:10your area. So, I'm using a desktop for this demonstration but you can also use
00:14your phone. So, the first step would be to identify the gas provider in your
00:17region. Just search this and just go to this link that pops up. So, this is a PDF
00:24that was published by the Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board. So, what
00:27you need to do is look for your city. So, let's look for Mumbai in this case. So, as
00:32you can see right here, the gas provider for Mumbai is Mahanagar Gas Limited. So, let's
00:37look for another city that is Delhi. So, the gas provider for Delhi is Indir Prasth
00:42Gas Limited. But for this demonstration, let's stick to Mumbai. So, now what you
00:45need to do is search the name of your gas provider and just simply type new PNG
00:51connection next to it. So, I'm going to click on the first link that popped up
00:55and I'm going to click on apply for domestic PNG connection. So, now simply
00:58type in your pin code. Search the name of a building and as you can see that this
01:01is taking responses in. For instance, let's put in a random pin code. As you
01:06can see, it says area not serviceable. So, largely this process remains the same
01:10for all gas providers that I've checked. All you need to do is go to the website,
01:14enter your pin code, enter your address and check whether you're eligible. But
01:17there are two things to note. PNG connectivity is mainly available in
01:21planned colonies, apartments and urban sectors. And a PNG connection typically
01:25costs between Rs 5,000 and 7,000. PNG prices are generally more stable than LPG
01:30and are considered safer for residential use. The government is expanding PNG
01:34infrastructure beyond urban areas. Amid the West Asia conflict, users in areas
01:38with PNG availability are now required to switch with LPG connections set to be
01:43off after three months of non-compliance.
