00:02It's come off Maidan, falling for McGinn here, he's got a cross as well, and somehow it stays out, McTominay
00:10denied, well Zeon Suzuki in the Japan goal has done just enough,
00:22it's not too many of those, he's done well, here's Robertson, not a bit of space, he can all the
00:32way himself here, it's Robertson and CZ UK makes the save, much better, much, much better.
00:40He's well leading up to the foul on Lewis Ferguson, Amitoum has managed to slip it out here, and Scotland
00:47are struggling to get back, and Gunn has done brilliantly to deny Junyaito, who was in, yeah it does well
00:59in the end, Angus Gunn, but Tommy Conway that was kind of telegraphed, as was that, it was Tierney,
01:08looking for Hurst, is he on or off, he's on at the moment, it's good play, good shimmy, inside net.
01:20Oh he'd be so disappointed he's not hit the target with that.
01:23Yeah, and the flag stays down as well, great anticipation from Kieran Tierney, and he does really well to shift
01:31this onto his right foot, Hurst, maybe just try to catch Suzuki out by going near post, expect to see
01:37that,
01:37going for the far post, just try to squeeze it in that near post area.
01:47This is good play again by Japan, good build up chance, and there's the goal!
01:53Japan made the breakthrough, Junyaito.
01:56Ito, applies the finishing touch, despite Angus Gunn's best efforts, and that might end up being enough to win this
02:06friendly for the Japanese.
02:09That's a lovely finish, great first touch from Ito, looked like he was going to take the shot on, little
02:14fake, extra touch, wrong foot's Angus Gunn.
02:18I'm not surprised, you know, it's a good bit of quality in the goal, short flashes throughout the game, it's
02:26the speed, this little touch here, outstanding from Ito.
02:30Looks like he's going to take it first time, everyone then sets, waiting for the block, Gunn sets, waiting for
02:36the shot, little fake, and the quickness, the speed of the finish, catches him out.
02:43Some real quality there, from Ito.
02:50It's not a powerful strike, but it's the speed that runs out.
02:53Iceland?
02:54Yeah, where it was poor, but this hasn't been poor, it just hasn't been good enough to win the game.
03:02Certainly something to build upon.
03:03Can they draw the game though?
03:05Where's Curtis?
03:07And he's into trouble.
03:09And Reiter, who's goal right now, is winning the match.
03:15Bursts forward.
03:18He's trying to find Ureda, to manage that.
03:23Can Scotland get the ball up the park here?
03:26Trying to find an unlikely equaliser in the dying seconds.
03:42Gilmore.
03:46Christy couldn't make it stick, and that's the three minutes up, and that's the game over.
03:50And it is defeat for Scotland.
03:55Japanese continue their unbeaten record against the Scots.
04:00adding to their victory in 2009.
04:04The two goalless draws that preceded that, their first visit to Scotland ends in victory.
04:09McTominay going closest for the Scots, hitting the post in the first half.
04:13Suzuki made the save.
04:16Japan displayed their quality at times tonight, they hit the bar themselves.
04:22God made a few comfortable saves.
04:23Nothing massively dramatic, though.
04:29And...
04:31Japan...
04:32finding the late winner through Ito.
04:37Which keeps their decent form going.
04:39More than decent, really.
04:41The first team that isn't hosting the tournament this summer to make it to the finals.
04:48They've come to Glasgow, and they have found a way to win the game.
04:55James McFadden, which Scotland couldn't.
04:58No, I think, you can't argue, Japan deserve to win the game.
05:03So, some moments of real quality, a lot of control on the game.
05:07And they, for me, deserve to win.
05:09Scotland, not a brilliant performance, not a terrible performance, but not enough to win the game.
05:14And you look at, you know, the games leading up to the World Cup, I think performances have to be
05:20better.
05:21As much as it wasn't, I keep saying it, it wasn't a poor performance, but you want to see a
05:26little bit more.
05:27These games can be difficult, friendlies, but you're looking for, you know, a better performance,
05:33try and build a bit of momentum coming into the World Cup.
05:36But there's no doubt for me that Japan, Japan with a better side, deserve to win the game.
05:40And I don't think we can have any complaints with that.
05:43Well, the good thing is Scotland could be in an alternate universe preparing for a play-off final in Prague
05:50against the Czech Republic on Tuesday evening.
05:57Perhaps beating North Macedonia already, fortunately, they don't need to worry about that.
06:01They will need to worry about a friendly in Liverpool against Ivory Coast.
06:07How much of the line-up would you be shaking up for that one?
06:11Yeah, I think, you know, this camp would have been viewed with looking at the two games in isolation,
06:17picking a team for this and making changes for the game on Tuesday.
06:21And I expect that to be the case.
06:23It's difficult because you're looking at, you know, a strong line-up tonight,
06:27but it gives opportunity for players to come in and impress the manager.
06:32I would expect to see a few changes to the line-up coming into the game
06:36and hopefully we get a better performance and a better result.
