In the upper room on the night before His betrayal, Jesus looked into the troubled eyes of His closest followers and spoke directly to their hidden fear of abandonment. What single promise did He make that would forever change how they—and we—face every moment of isolation or uncertainty? Together, let’s uncover the surprising way this assurance invites us into a relationship closer than the apostles ever experienced on Earth.

00:00No one likes to be alone.
00:02Now, some of us parents think, you know,
00:05let me just get away from my kids for about two weeks.
00:08I'd be great.
00:08But, you know, you'd miss them.
00:11I know you say, I don't know about that, Pastor Mark, but you would.
00:15No one really likes to be alone.
00:17Remember when you were a child and you went to a relative's house
00:21and your parents stuck you in a bedroom that was strange to you
00:24and you had to sleep in a strange bed and you're all by yourself
00:28and the house is creaking and groaning and the outside sounds
00:31and you're laying in bed thinking, Mommy, we just don't like to be alone.
00:38Remember a burst of thunder peeled out
00:40and a three-year-old came running into her mom and dad's bedroom
00:43and stood in the doorway as she called out, Mommy, I'm scared.
00:46And Mom, half awake, half unconscious, said, Go back to bed.
00:51God's in there with you.
00:52The little girl was not persuaded.
00:54She stood right there and she says, I'll sleep with Daddy.
00:57You go in there and sleep with God.
01:00We don't like to be alone.
01:03I think when we finally realize that life is not all about toys
01:07and material possessions, it's true.
01:10If I die and I have the most toys, I don't win.
01:15When we finally realize life is all about relationships,
01:19that's what really counts are relationships.
01:22I think one of our greatest fears,
01:24when we finally come to that realization,
01:26it's not about toys, it's not about material things,
01:28it's about people, it's about relationships.
01:30I think one of our greatest fears
01:33is to die and not be missed.
01:39To die alone.
01:41No one comes to your funeral.
01:44No one seems to care.
01:47Several years ago, a guy named Glenn Wolfe, 88 years old,
01:52died in Los Angeles.
01:54No one came to climb his body.
01:56The city ended up burying him in an unmarked grave.
01:59And it's not uncommon in a large city like Los Angeles.
02:01You've got people that die and they don't know who they are.
02:04John Doe's, Jane Doe's.
02:06And the city ends up burying them in an unmarked grave.
02:08What was unique with Glenn was this.
02:12When he died at 88, he was a world record holder.
02:17He was in the Guinness Book of World Records
02:19as being married 29 times.
02:24Now think about that for a second.
02:2729 times he went up to the altar
02:28and he looked her right in the eyes and said,
02:30I promise to live with you until I die.
02:33I promise to be faithful to you.
02:35I promise to be that husband to you.
02:36And I do.
02:3829 times he said that.
02:41Obviously, it didn't quite work out like he had planned.
02:45But if you think about it a little bit deeper,
02:47think about this.
02:49He had grandchildren.
02:52Great-grandchildren.
02:54Many of his ex-spouses,
02:56they're still alive at this point.
02:58And think about the hundreds of ex-in-laws
03:01that he had from 29 different lives.
03:05And he died alone.
03:10Apparently, he never found what he was looking for.
03:13And when he died,
03:15he was all alone.
03:17And I think that's one of our fears.
03:21That when it comes down to it,
03:22our life didn't matter.
03:24And I'm all alone.
03:28If you have ever thought that,
03:30you're in good company.
03:32Because the disciples thought something similar.
03:37Last week, we looked at Jesus washing the disciples' feet.
03:40He concludes basically that chapter with,
03:42love one another as I have loved you
03:44and all the world will know you're my disciples.
03:46Then he moves into chapter 14.
03:48Remember, it's the same night.
03:49It's the same discourse.
03:50It's the same place.
03:50Before they even leave the upper room,
03:52before it takes place,
03:54he's up there.
03:55And all of a sudden,
03:56he looks at them and he says,
03:57don't let your hearts be troubled.
04:00Something was going on in their hearts.
04:02Now, they didn't grasp the death
04:03and the resurrection of Christ
04:04until after the fact.
04:05He told them multiple times.
04:06They didn't get it.
04:06They didn't know.
04:07But they knew something was changing
04:09in the relationship between Jesus and them.
04:13Maybe he was going to proclaim himself
04:14as the Messiah of Israel
04:15and all Israel would flock to him
04:17and they would kind of be on the outside
04:19and left alone.
04:20They wouldn't be the intimate,
04:21close-knit group that they were.
04:23Maybe they were thinking about that.
04:24I'm not sure.
04:25It's only speculation.
04:26I don't know.
04:27Whatever it was, we do know this.
04:29Their hearts were troubled.
04:32Troubled to the sense that they didn't know
04:33whether or not Jesus was going to be with them anymore.
04:37Whether physically absent from them or whatever.
04:39They didn't grasp this.
04:41They knew something was changing.
04:44And in the answer Jesus gives to them
04:46from 15 to 24,
04:47we can see clearly he answers
04:49that question they had in their heart.
04:52Am I going to be alone?
04:54Am I going to be left all alone?
04:56And I don't want to be alone.
04:59So we pick up reading in verse number 15 through 17,
05:03Jesus speaking to them now
05:04about their issue of don't let your hearts be troubled.
05:08You've believed in God.
05:09Believe also in me.
05:09I'm going to my father's house to prepare a place for you
05:12and I'm going to come back and get you
05:13and where I am, you'll be also.
05:14I mean, that's the promise he made to them.
05:16And yet in the midst of this, he's going,
05:18the disciples are saying,
05:19I don't like this, Jesus.
05:22It gives me an uneasy feeling
05:24that I may be left alone in this world
05:26having to go at myself
05:28with no one standing by me.
05:30And I don't want that.
05:32That's where we find ourselves in verse number 15.
05:35He wants to give them, first of all,
05:37in 15 through 17,
05:38a very clear teaching that
05:40they are not going to have to go it alone.
05:44Yes, he's not going to be there like he was,
05:47but he's going to send someone else in his place,
05:50just like him,
05:51to help them,
05:52to encourage them,
05:53to stand by them,
05:54and they will not be alone.
05:55That's what we see in verses 15 through 17.
05:58If you love me, Jesus is speaking,
06:01you will keep my commandments.
06:03And I will ask the Father,
06:05and he will give you another helper
06:06to be with you forever,
06:08even the Spirit of truth,
06:10whom the world cannot receive
06:12because it neither sees him nor knows him.
06:15You know him,
06:17for he dwells with you and will be in you.
06:22So he's answering the first question is,
06:24am I going to be left helpless?
06:25Am I going to be left to stand by myself all alone?
06:29And Jesus is saying,
06:30no, listen,
06:30that's not how it's going to be, guys.
06:32My great love for you
06:33is going to provide another helper,
06:35one just like me,
06:37so that you will not be alone.
06:40I like what he starts off here.
06:41He says,
06:41if you love me,
06:42that continual love,
06:43you will keep my commandments
06:45as a demonstration of your love.
06:46So the habitual practice
06:48of keeping Christ's commands
06:49demonstrates that we truly do love him.
06:51That shows him that we love him.
06:54And also the idea here
06:55of this continual action
06:57of loving Jesus
06:58and keeping his commandments.
06:59The idea is that
07:00when we continue to love Jesus,
07:02that prevents disobedience in our life.
07:03So the more that we love Jesus,
07:05the less we're going to disobey
07:06what he's asked us to do.
07:07It's a great,
07:08it's a great way to look at it.
07:10That love we have for him
07:12demonstrated by keeping his commandments
07:13will prevent us from disobedience.
07:16He says,
07:17listen, guys,
07:19it's not going to be like it was.
07:21Things are changing.
07:23But I want you to be assured
07:24that I'm going to send another one.
07:26That one is going to be just like me.
07:29He's going to be just like me
07:30with the same rank,
07:31the same authority,
07:32the same power,
07:33the one that's going to help you
07:33and stand by you.
07:34It's not going to be me,
07:35but you're not going to be left alone.
07:37I won't leave you alone.
07:39So the spirit is of another of the same kind,
07:42one that's going to help them.
07:44Now, some of your translations
07:45may say comforter
07:47or may say advocate there
07:49in verse number 16.
07:50I will ask the Father
07:51and he will give you another helper.
07:52My translation says advocate
07:55or counselor or comforter
07:56is another word that you can look at.
07:58So the spirit is one
07:59who has called alongside
08:00to be an advocate.
08:02He's called alongside
08:03to represent someone
08:05before someone else.
08:06That's his job.
08:07That's what he's going to do.
08:08And in fact,
08:09it's the same word used of Jesus
08:10in 1 John 2.1.
08:12When we read 1 John 2.1,
08:13we see my little children,
08:15I am writing these things to you
08:16so that you may not sin.
08:17But if anyone does sin,
08:19we have an advocate,
08:20same exact word,
08:21with the Father,
08:22Jesus Christ righteous.
08:23So you can see the picture.
08:24Jesus is sitting
08:25at the right hand of the Father.
08:27He is our advocate.
08:28In other words,
08:28he's speaking on our behalf
08:30to the Father.
08:31That's his job.
08:32He's praying for us.
08:33He's interceding for us.
08:34That's a Bible verse
08:35we memorize today.
08:36He is there in heaven
08:37on our behalf
08:38before the Father.
08:40Now, if you spin that around,
08:41the Holy Spirit now is given
08:44He's given to us
08:45who speaks from the Father
08:47to our hearts.
08:48So He is the advocate
08:49of the Father
08:50speaking to us.
08:51So He brings the Father to us.
08:53He represents the Father to us.
08:55He stands before the Father
08:56for us.
08:58Jesus is praying for us.
08:59The Holy Spirit
09:00is communicating
09:00the will of God to us.
09:02We see this circle
09:02that's going around here.
09:04Jesus said,
09:05you're not going to be
09:06left alone.
09:08The Spirit's presence,
09:10Jesus said,
09:10is going to be permanent.
09:11It's going to be with you forever.
09:12He was with them
09:13for a short period of time.
09:15And they're probably
09:16asking themselves,
09:16wait a second,
09:17Jesus,
09:17you're giving us this one
09:18that's like you,
09:20another helper,
09:20but is He going to go away
09:22like you're going away?
09:23Is He going to be gone someday?
09:25Is He not going to be with us?
09:26And Jesus says,
09:27no,
09:27this is forever.
09:28This is a permanent thing.
09:30So it's not going to be
09:31a duration of time
09:32like Jesus' ministry on earth.
09:33This is going to be
09:34a forever thing.
09:35He will continually
09:36be with them.
09:38And this one
09:38who is the Spirit of truth,
09:40that's His character,
09:40that's His essence,
09:41His truth.
09:44I love what Paul speaks
09:45about the Spirit's ministry
09:46in us.
09:47If you get a chance,
09:47read 1 Corinthians 2,
09:48verses 8-14.
09:50It talks about how
09:50the Spirit takes
09:51the Father's heart
09:52and brings it to us,
09:53reveals the Father's mind to us.
09:55The Holy Spirit intercedes
09:56on our behalf for us.
09:57He is with us
09:59so that we are not alone.
10:02Now I can imagine
10:03at this point
10:03the disciples are
10:04scratching their head.
10:05See,
10:05you have to put it
10:07in context.
10:08The only understanding
10:10they have of the Holy Spirit
10:11is written in the Old Testament.
10:13They don't understand
10:15this whole concept
10:15of what Jesus is talking about.
10:17The only reference
10:18they have is the Old Testament.
10:19So as they're sitting
10:20there thinking,
10:20they're thinking,
10:21okay,
10:21Holy Spirit,
10:22Old Testament,
10:23hmm.
10:24In the Old Testament,
10:25the Holy Spirit
10:25would fall upon a person
10:27and they would prophesy
10:28or when they're working
10:29in the tabernacle,
10:30for example,
10:30they would make
10:31some artistic work
10:32or they would lead
10:33the nation.
10:34He would fall upon
10:34the person
10:35but he could also
10:35leave the person
10:36in the Old Testament.
10:38And they're thinking
10:38to themselves,
10:39okay,
10:39well,
10:39that's not very permanent.
10:40If he's going to be
10:41with us forever,
10:41that's not like
10:42the Old Testament
10:43at all.
10:43Also in the Old Testament,
10:45only the very select few
10:47ever received the Spirit.
10:49You've got people
10:50like Joshua and Moses
10:52who led the nation.
10:53You've got the priests.
10:54You've got the judges.
10:55You've got the prophets.
10:57Some of the kings
10:58received the Spirit
10:59but only the select few.
11:01And these guys
11:02are saying,
11:02wait,
11:03we're just fishermen.
11:04We're just average,
11:05ordinary people.
11:06And what the Spirit's
11:07going to come upon us to?
11:09This is new, Jesus.
11:10We've never heard
11:11anything like this before.
11:13So the promised ministry
11:15of the Holy Spirit
11:15is so unique
11:16because he's given
11:17to all believers alike.
11:18It's not just
11:19the select few.
11:20It's not for a period
11:21of time
11:21and then he leaves.
11:23He was among you
11:24working, Jesus,
11:25that now he's going
11:26to be in you forever.
11:29That really is
11:30the glorious promise
11:31of the new covenant,
11:32isn't it?
11:33When Joel cried out
11:33in prophecy
11:34and it shall come
11:35to pass afterward
11:35that I will pour
11:36my Spirit
11:37on all flesh.
11:38People like you and me
11:39get the Spirit of God
11:41so that we know
11:42we are not alone
11:44as we go through this world.
11:47That's what he's
11:47going to expand on
11:48in verses 18-24.
11:50He said,
11:51one's going to come
11:51who's going to help you
11:52just like I helped you.
11:53He's going to stand by you.
11:54He's going to encourage you.
11:55He's going to communicate
11:56the Father's will to you.
11:58That one,
11:58the Holy Spirit,
11:59is there.
12:00Now I want you to know
12:01you're not alone.
12:0318-24.
12:05I will not leave you
12:07as orphans.
12:08I will come to you.
12:10Yet a little while
12:11and the world
12:12will see me no more,
12:13but you will see me
12:14because I live,
12:16you also will live.
12:18In that day,
12:19you will know
12:19that I am in my Father
12:21and you in me
12:22and I in you.
12:25Whoever has my commandments
12:26and keeps them,
12:27he it is who loves me.
12:28And he who loves me
12:30will be loved by my Father
12:31and I will love him
12:32and manifest myself to him.
12:34Judas, not Iscariot,
12:36said to him,
12:36Lord,
12:36how is it that you will
12:37manifest yourself to us
12:38and not to the world?
12:39Is this some change
12:40of plan here, Jesus?
12:42Jesus answered him,
12:43if anyone loves me,
12:45he will keep my word.
12:46That seems to be
12:47a recurring theme
12:47here in these verses,
12:48doesn't it?
12:48If you love me,
12:49you'll keep my commandments,
12:50you'll keep my word.
12:50And my Father
12:52will love him
12:52and we will come to him
12:55and make our home with him.
12:57Whoever does not love me
12:59does not keep my words
13:00and the word that you hear
13:01is not mine
13:02but the Father's
13:03who sent me.
13:04So not only am I going
13:05to send the Holy Spirit
13:07who is your helper,
13:08who is standing beside you,
13:10communicating the Father's will,
13:11I want you to know
13:12that the Father and I
13:13are coming to you as well.
13:14You will not be alone.
13:16I will not leave you
13:17abandoned like orphans
13:18or helpless
13:19or unprotected.
13:20I love you more than that
13:22than to leave you alone.
13:23I will not leave you alone.
13:25Now when he's talking about
13:26yet a little while
13:27and the world will see me
13:28no more
13:28but you will see me,
13:29he's speaking of
13:30the resurrection.
13:31Now nowhere in the New Testament
13:33is there anywhere recorded
13:34that after the resurrection
13:35unbelievers saw him.
13:36Now they may have,
13:37it's just not recorded
13:38in the New Testament.
13:39So after the resurrection
13:40we only see that
13:41believers see Jesus.
13:42So from the world's point of view,
13:44the cross is the last time
13:45they're going to see Jesus.
13:46It's his place in the tomb.
13:47That's it.
13:48They don't ever see him again.
13:49But Jesus says,
13:50listen,
13:50I want you to know
13:51you're not alone.
13:52I'll come back.
13:53You'll see me.
13:55We'll be together again.
13:57You are not alone.
13:59And he says,
14:00because I live,
14:01you also will live.
14:02Showing that our spiritual life
14:04is so linked
14:05to the continuing life
14:07of Jesus Christ.
14:07If Jesus ever dies,
14:09our spiritual life
14:10is over with.
14:11It's done.
14:13It's linked to the resurrection
14:14and to his enduring life.
14:15If it ever ends,
14:17our life is over with.
14:18I'm so glad
14:19that it will never end.
14:20That's the promise.
14:23The life of Jesus,
14:24he says,
14:24is communicated to us.
14:27In that day,
14:28you will know
14:28that I am in my Father
14:30and you in me.
14:31It's communicated to you
14:32and I in you.
14:34We stand before the Father now
14:36in the merit
14:37and person
14:38and work of Jesus Christ.
14:40Jesus is in the Father.
14:42We are in him
14:43and he is in us.
14:44The unity,
14:45the oneness that we seek.
14:47I will not leave you alone.
14:50I will come to you.
14:53When I went into basic training,
14:54there were three words
14:55that I learned
14:56right up front.
14:58Infantry basic training,
15:00I learned these three words
15:01right up front
15:01and it saved me
15:02a world of hurt.
15:05The words were this,
15:06yes, drill sergeant.
15:10Get out and knock me out 25.
15:11Yes, drill sergeant.
15:13Jump.
15:13How high, drill sergeant?
15:15Yes, drill sergeant.
15:16That was exactly
15:17what kept me from pain
15:18and punishment
15:19during basic training.
15:21And all of you
15:21who have gone through
15:22basic training say,
15:23that's right.
15:24Yes, drill sergeant.
15:27Now, every time
15:28my drill sergeant
15:28gave me a command,
15:29he expected me to obey it.
15:31And my response was,
15:33yes, drill sergeant.
15:34But let me ask you something.
15:36Every time I obey
15:38my drill sergeant,
15:39did I obey him
15:41because I loved him?
15:45That was not
15:45a rhetorical question.
15:47Absolutely not.
15:49I obeyed him
15:50because I feared him.
15:52I feared the punishment
15:53that would come
15:54if I did not obey him
15:55and I feared the pain
15:57that I'd have to endure.
15:58I did not obey him
15:59because I loved him.
16:01And Jesus is trying
16:02to say to us,
16:03listen,
16:05I want you to obey me
16:06because you love me.
16:08I don't want you
16:09to obey me
16:09because you're afraid of me.
16:11I don't want you
16:11to obey me
16:12because you fear
16:12punishment for me.
16:13I want you to obey me
16:14because you love me.
16:16And the demonstration
16:17of your love
16:17will be your obedience
16:18to my words.
16:19That's what I want.
16:20I don't want it out of fear.
16:21I don't want it out of punishment.
16:22I want you to obey me
16:23because you love me.
16:24And John says this,
16:25there is no fear in love,
16:28but perfect love
16:29casts out fear.
16:30For fear has to do
16:32with punishment
16:32and whoever fears
16:33has not been perfected
16:34in love.
16:34Jesus said,
16:35listen,
16:36I want you to obey me
16:36because you love me,
16:37not because you're
16:38afraid of me.
16:41Those two words,
16:42yes, Lord.
16:44Yes, I'll do it.
16:46Wouldn't that be,
16:46wouldn't that solve us
16:47a lot of problems
16:47when we get up
16:48in the morning?
16:48If the first two words
16:49we said was,
16:50yes, Lord.
16:51Whatever comes my way today,
16:52yes, Lord.
16:53Whatever you want, Lord.
16:54That's, I mean,
16:54that's, I want your will
16:55in my life.
16:56Yes, Lord.
16:57Wouldn't that just save us
16:57a lot of headache
16:58throughout the day?
16:59Yes, Lord.
17:00Yes, I'm content
17:00with what you give me
17:01even though I think
17:01I deserve more.
17:02Yes, Lord.
17:04That would save us
17:05a lot of heartache.
17:07I trust you even though
17:08the outcome is uncertain
17:09and it's gnawing
17:10at my mind.
17:11Yes, Lord.
17:12When the Lord says jump,
17:13we say how high?
17:14Wouldn't that be great?
17:15Not because we're afraid,
17:17but because we love him.
17:19I like what Jesus said here is,
17:22he who loves me
17:23will be loved by my Father
17:25and I will love him
17:27and manifest myself to him.
17:29In other words,
17:29I will reveal myself to him.
17:31So what does that tell us?
17:32It tells us the more
17:33that we love Jesus,
17:35the more that we can know Jesus.
17:37The greater our love
17:38is towards him,
17:39the more that he reveals
17:40himself to us.
17:41So as I love him,
17:42my love for him grows,
17:44my understanding of him grows,
17:45my relationship with him grows.
17:49I don't know if you ever
17:50thought about this.
17:52We can experience
17:53a closer fellowship
17:55with Jesus
17:56than his disciples did
17:58when he walked
17:58on this earth.
18:00Did you ever think
18:01about that?
18:02When Jesus walked
18:03on this earth,
18:04he was restricted
18:04to a physical locality.
18:06His disciples
18:07could get close to him,
18:07they could touch him,
18:08they could be by him,
18:09but when the crowds
18:09rushed in,
18:10they may get moved back.
18:12They may not be
18:13close to him anymore
18:14because he wasn't
18:15physically in one location.
18:17Now Jesus is saying this,
18:19I will come
18:20and I will be in you.
18:22Can't get much closer
18:24than that.
18:25And I will not
18:26leave you alone.
18:28I will be with you.
18:30That's amazing.
18:31We get a closer
18:32relationship to Jesus
18:33than his disciples did
18:34when Jesus walked
18:35on this earth.
18:38And if we truly want
18:39that grand revelation
18:40of the Father
18:40and the Son,
18:41we have to keep
18:42Jesus' word,
18:43he said.
18:43If anyone loves me,
18:44he would keep my word
18:45and my Father
18:45will love him
18:46and we will come to him
18:47and make our home
18:48with him.
18:49If you think about that,
18:50God says,
18:50I will come
18:51and I will be
18:51your daily guest
18:52in your house.
18:53I will sit
18:54at your table with you.
18:55We will fellowship
18:56one with another.
18:57The Father and the Son
18:58and the Spirit
18:59which we already saw
19:00will come and live in us
19:02and guess what?
19:03You will not be alone.
19:04Ever.
19:07You're not alone.
19:12Roger Zerbe
19:13suffered from an early onset
19:15of Alzheimer's disease.
19:17His wife, Becky,
19:18remembers one time
19:21reading a journal entry
19:22that he had written.
19:24See, he was going
19:24through a particularly
19:25bad time of forgetfulness
19:27and so he decided
19:28to write it down
19:29in a journal.
19:30So these are her words.
19:31She said,
19:32I picked up the journal
19:32on my pillow and read
19:34and now these are
19:35Roger's words.
19:37Honey,
19:39today fear is taking over.
19:42The day is coming
19:43when all my memories
19:44of this life we share
19:45will be gone.
19:47In fact,
19:48you and the boys
19:48will be gone from me.
19:50I will lose you
19:51even as I am surrounded
19:53by you and your love.
19:55I don't want to leave you.
19:57I want to grow old
19:58in the warmth of memories.
20:00Forgive me
20:01for leaving so slowly
20:02and painfully.
20:05And Becky,
20:06blinking back to tears,
20:07picked up her pen
20:08and wrote,
20:10my sweet husband,
20:12what will happen
20:13when we get to the point
20:14where you no longer know me?
20:17I will continue
20:18to go on loving you
20:19and caring for you.
20:20Not because you know me
20:22or remember our life,
20:23but because I remember you.
20:26I will remember the man
20:27who proposed to me
20:28and told me he loved me.
20:29The look on his face
20:31when his children were born.
20:32The father he was.
20:33The way he loved
20:34our extended family.
20:35I'll recall his love
20:36for riding and hiking
20:38and reading,
20:38his tears at sentimental movies,
20:40the unexpected witty remarks
20:42and how he held my hand
20:43while he prayed.
20:45I cherish the pleasure,
20:47obligation,
20:48commitment,
20:49and opportunity
20:50to care for you
20:51because I remember you.
20:55There may come a day
20:57that you feel absolutely alone
21:00as if everyone
21:01has forgotten you.
21:04as if God
21:05has forgotten you.
21:08In the midst
21:09of a horrific trial
21:10that's gnawing away
21:12your faith,
21:15producing extreme loneliness
21:16in you.
21:19When the doctor comes in
21:20and says,
21:21we've got the test,
21:23it's cancer.
21:26When the phone call
21:27comes in the middle
21:27of the night
21:28and says,
21:29there's been a terrible accident,
21:30I have to inform you.
21:33When you pray to God
21:35and you cry out
21:35and it seems like
21:36the prayers go
21:37as far as the ceiling
21:38and the heavens are brass.
21:41When it seems like
21:42the Father
21:42has forgotten you.
21:44When your name
21:44doesn't even come
21:45across his lips anymore.
21:48And you feel all alone.
21:51Remember.
21:54Remember that you're
21:55never alone.
21:58Remember Christ's
21:58great love for you
21:59that sent him to the cross
22:00on your behalf.
22:02Remember the great
22:03and precious promises
22:04that he has given to you.
22:06Remember that he's
22:07coming back again.
22:09Remember him
22:12because he remembers you.
22:15And you are never alone.
22:18Let's pray together.
22:23Father, I thank you
22:25for the precious promise.
22:29I'm never alone.
22:32Your spirit communicates
22:34your will to me.
22:36You and your son
22:38have made your home in me.
22:42I'm never alone.
22:44This world may throw
22:46everything at me
22:47where I seem to stand
22:48all by myself exposed.
22:52When it appears
22:53no one is standing beside me.
22:56When it looks like
22:57all have abandoned me.
22:59May I remember.
23:02May I remember
23:03that I'm never alone.
23:06That's the great glory
23:08of the resurrection.
23:10Because he lives,
23:11we will live too.
23:13And we are never alone.
23:15Thank you, Jesus.
23:16I pray in your name.
23:17Amen.
