00:00You know, I'm going to say something today that's not going to surprise you.
00:06I'm different, and according to Jesus, that's my superpower.
00:14You know, most people spend their entire lives trying to answer one quiet, exhausting question.
00:22How do I fit in?
00:24And you know me, I don't want to fit in.
00:27I don't want to get the results everybody else is getting.
00:31I want to get the results that God is going to give me because I'm living the story he wrote for me.
00:39But from childhood classrooms to adult workplaces, from family gatherings to church spaces,
00:48we learn very early that being accepted often feels safer than being authentic.
00:55So we adapt, we soften our edges, we learn which parts of ourselves to show, and which parts to hide.
01:07And if you're someone who feels deeply, thinks differently, questions honestly, or lives with a strong inner compass,
01:18you probably learned this lesson faster than most.
01:23You noticed early on that you didn't quite match the room.
01:28You felt things others brushed past.
01:32You saw inconsistencies others ignored.
01:36You were uncomfortable with shallow answers when your soul was asking deeper questions.
01:43And slowly, subtly, the message formed.
01:50Maybe something is wrong with me.
01:53But then you encountered Jesus.
01:57Not the sanitized version.
02:00Not the religious mascot.
02:02But the real Jesus from scripture.
02:05And suddenly, the entire story changes.
02:11Love this, because Jesus never treated difference as a weakness.
02:16He treated it as a sign of calling.
02:21Jesus said, you are the salt of the earth.
02:25And salt only works because it's different from what it touches.
02:30If salt blends in, it stops preserving.
02:34If it loses its distinctiveness, Jesus says, it's no longer good for anything.
02:43So, in other words, when you erase what makes you different, you erase what makes you effective.
02:53Jesus didn't say, try hard to fit in with the world.
02:58He said, you do not belong to the world.
03:02That statement alone reframes everything.
03:07Belonging to Jesus automatically makes you an outsider in systems built on pride, power, image, and control.
03:18And that's not a flaw.
03:20It's the design.
03:22Look closely at who Jesus chose.
03:26He didn't recruit polished professionals.
03:29He didn't assemble religious elites.
03:33He didn't pick the people who already knew how to look holy.
03:38He chose fishermen who smelled like the sea.
03:43A tax collector everyone hated.
03:47A zealot who burned with political rage.
03:51A doubter, a hothead, a traitor.
03:55Women whose voices society ignored.
04:00People with broken reputations and complicated stories.
04:05But Jesus didn't say, fix yourselves.
04:10Then follow me.
04:12He said, follow me and I'll use exactly who you are.
04:21And your difference wasn't something Jesus tolerated.
04:25It was something he intentionally called.
04:29You see, when Jesus himself walked the earth, he was constantly misunderstood because he refused to conform.
04:38He didn't speak like the religious leaders.
04:42He didn't prioritize appearances.
04:45He did not reward status.
04:48He didn't protect systems that crushed people.
04:54He healed on the wrong day.
04:57He touched the wrong people.
05:00He forgave sins without permission.
05:02He ate with those who no one else would sit beside.
05:08And the response was predictable.
05:12He's too much.
05:14He's dangerous.
05:16He doesn't fit.
05:18You know, they weren't wrong.
05:20Light doesn't fit into darkness.
05:23Truth, well, that doesn't fit into hypocrisy.
05:26And grace doesn't fit into control.
05:30So, if your faith ever makes people uncomfortable, not because you're cruel, but because you're honest, gentle, unmovable, and free, you're walking the same road Jesus walked.
05:47And Jesus warned his followers of this.
05:51He said, if the world hates you, remember, it hated me first.
05:58Not because his followers would be hateful, but because they would be different.
06:06You see, free people unsettle controlled systems.
06:11Whole people threaten shame-based cultures.
06:16Compassion disrupts environments built on hardness.
06:21And some of you have spent years trying to manage your difference.
06:26I get it.
06:27Me too.
06:27You learned when to stay quiet.
06:30So did I.
06:32You learned when to smile instead of speak.
06:35Oh, I'm the master of the fake smile.
06:39You learned how to survive spaces that never made room for who God made you to be.
06:48And I'm a survivor.
06:49But Jesus doesn't heal you so you can return to hiding.
06:54He heals you so you can stand without fear.
07:00And today I'm standing straighter than I ever have.
07:03When Jesus healed people, he didn't say, now go back and pretend nothing changed.
07:10He said, go and tell what God has done for you.
07:17Your story, your story, your story, your difference becomes the doorway for something or someone else's healing.
07:27Your sensitivity isn't weakness.
07:29Your sensitivity isn't weakness.
07:30It's discernment.
07:32Your refusal to play along with gossip, cruelty, or performative religion isn't rebellion.
07:40Your discomfort with shallow faith isn't arrogance.
07:48It's hunger.
07:49Your compassion that sometimes feels overwhelming isn't a burden.
07:56It's how God brings mercy into hard places.
07:59Jesus never promised that following him would make life easier.
08:06He promised it would make life meaningful.
08:11And meaning, well, meaning always requires distinction.
08:18The narrow road Jesus talked about isn't narrow because God wants to limit you.
08:24It's narrow because truth has never been crowded.
08:28You were never created to be a copy.
08:33You were created to be a witness.
08:36So stop asking, what's wrong with me?
08:40And start asking, what has God entrusted to me?
08:45The very thing that once made you feel isolated may be the very thing that allows others to finally feel seen.
08:54The thing that made you feel misunderstood may be the bridge that helps someone else feel understood for the very first time in their lives.
09:06The thing that made you feel out of place may be the exact placement God intended.
09:13You see, Jesus didn't save you to make you average.
09:19He saved you to make you alive.
09:23So don't shrink what God designed.
09:27Don't dim what God ignited.
09:30And never apologize for walking the narrow road when Jesus himself called it the way of life.
09:39The way of life.
09:44Stand firm, my friends.
09:47Stay faithful.
09:49Live boldly.
09:51Speak truth gently.
09:54And walk forward knowing this.
09:57You are not different by accident.
10:01You are different on purpose.
10:04You see, there are gifts inside of you that only you can share in the way that would make them the most effective.
10:14It's 100% true.
10:17Many people may be able to do what you can do, but they can't do it like you.
10:23And that difference not only makes you effective, it makes you beautiful.
10:31And according to Jesus, it's not your weakness.
10:36It's your superpower.
10:39Truth.
10:41God bless you, my friends.
10:43Bye-bye.
