00:00Any reporting on Cuba that you didn't get from me or the president is a liar.
00:03Because they're the only people working on it.
00:05Do you still want regime change?
00:07I'm just warning you guys.
00:08All these sources that are pitching you on Cuba don't know jack.
00:11They're not in the mix.
00:12I promise you.
00:13Do you still want regime change or would you be okay with an economic deal?
00:17No.
00:18What do you mean an economic deal?
00:19Cuba's economy needs to change and their economy can't change unless their system of government changes.
00:24It's that simple.
00:25Who's going to invest billions of dollars in a communist country?
00:28Who's going to invest billions of dollars in a communist country run by incompetent communists?
00:32Which is even worse than communists.
00:34The only thing worse than a communist is an incompetent communist.
00:37And so their system of government has to change.
00:39Because they will never be able to develop economically without those changes.
00:42Economic change is important.
00:44Giving people economic and political freedom is important.
00:46But they come hand in hand.
00:48They come together.
00:49I don't know why there's any confusion on that.
00:51Is there a deal for you where the Castro family remains in place?
00:55It's not about the Castro family.
00:56It's about a system of government and a regime that doesn't work.
00:59They never act that way in front of me.
01:00Maybe they say that to you guys.
01:02Or maybe they say that in other interviews or when they go in the press.
01:05But not in front of me they don't.
01:06I never get that.
01:07On the contrary, these meetings are often times about thanking America for the role we've played in trying to bring
01:12peace into Sudan.
01:13The recognition that the President played a key role in ending what was happening in Gaza.
01:17The recognition of the role we've played in stabilizing Syria.
01:20The recognition, despite what they may have said in the press, that what we did in Venezuela was good for
01:25the world and good for our region and the Western Hemisphere.
01:27The recognition of the role we've played in setting up, along with others like Canada, the Gang Suppression Force in
01:32Haiti.
01:34And appreciation for the mediating role we've tried to play in this war between Russia and Ukraine.
01:40So, I don't know.
01:42I mean, you guys ask me these questions like if I go into these meetings and people are angry.
01:45Nobody screams or raises their voices and says anything negative.
01:48And if they did, I would remind them, but I don't need to, but I would remind them of the
01:52role America has played over the last year.
01:54It's been a very productive role and very helpful to them.
