00:40Ahoy, matey.
00:41We're here.
00:42We're queer.
00:43Yeah.
00:43So our hero this week,
00:44the unofficial mayor of the marina,
00:46known around the war as Redbeard.
00:48I'm Greg Glidier,
00:49and people call me Redbeard.
00:50Greg lives on a sailboat
00:52with his wife, Aubrey,
00:53and their daughter, Rue.
00:54Ooh, that smells bomb.
00:57I mean, salty.
00:59I don't really have much of a filter.
01:01I don't know what kind of insult that is,
01:03mother ,
01:04but it's good.
01:06Nice leave, Andre.
01:07I mean, I'm gonna you up now, but...
01:09Yeah.
01:09And, uh, this is me.
01:11My wife would probably say
01:12I talk a little too much,
01:14which is fair.
01:15Yeah, Greg's great.
01:15He can talk about just about anything,
01:18but some semblance of knowledge.
01:19I think that's accurate.
01:21The nicest, kindest person
01:23that you won't really understand
01:24the first time that you meet him.
01:25Uh-oh.
01:27There is an edginess and a toughness.
01:29And yet there was a super kind, soft,
01:32very helpful person under that.
01:34Oh, man!
01:36Roll it, then slice it.
01:39How's that basil taste?
01:41Don't eat it!
01:43He's turning 40.
01:45Wait, literally today.
01:46Whoa!
01:46Today's birthday!
01:47Yeah!
01:4840 means to me that I've earned the gray hairs
01:50I have in my beard now.
01:53And maybe knowledge,
01:54but I don't think I have that much knowledge.
01:55Maybe I should have more wisdom at 40 than I do,
01:58but we all know adults
01:58who don't know anything,
01:59so there's that.
02:01I don't know where I would have thought
02:02I would have been at 40.
02:03Probably bartending,
02:05living in a boat.
02:06Definitely not.
02:06This year also marks his 10th anniversary
02:08with Aubrey.
02:09Wow!
02:10They always dreamed of owning a home,
02:12but in Washington, D.C.,
02:14that dream felt out of reach.
02:15I'm a teacher,
02:15so I was not making Washington money,
02:18and Greg was bartending.
02:20We were looking for something that was affordable.
02:23Then one day, Aubrey had a wild idea.
02:25What if they bought a sailboat to live on?
02:27I wanted an adventure,
02:29and we loved the outside.
02:33Neither of them had any sailing experience,
02:35but Greg immediately jumped on board.
02:37You see what I did there?
02:38Well done.
02:39We took a couple of sailing lessons,
02:41and then we moved on to a boat,
02:42which has been an adventure,
02:44and slowly it became me working on boats.
02:46They've been there ever since,
02:48raising Rue,
02:48the princess of the docks.
02:49Building a unique floating life on the water.
02:52Yeah!
02:53That actually sounds magical for a kid.
02:55I'm Cleopatra here now.
02:58The kid wasn't necessarily on my docket.
03:04Now, I'm just a dad wanting to hang out with this kid.
03:09I like my dad.
03:11Because he's funny.
03:12This hat for me would be,
03:13I can speak with an English accent.
03:15What's your voice for this hat?
03:16Howdy!
03:17She's lovely,
03:18but I can't take credit for that one.
03:20He fixes boats.
03:23Over the years,
03:24Greg has become the marina's go-to guy.
03:26The first call when anything goes wrong on the docks.
03:28Greg's got it handled.
03:30I work on generators,
03:32toilets,
03:33plumbing,
03:34water pumps,
03:35water heaters,
03:35engines,
03:37outside leaks,
03:37a little bit of everything.
03:38He was a good addition when he arrived on the wharf.
03:40He's there when you need him,
03:42sometimes when you don't.
03:45Greg's the guy who shows up for everyone else,
03:47except lately himself.
03:49The weekends,
03:50he doesn't really get that reset,
03:52because Greg never says no.
03:54Uh,
03:55I've neglected our boat slightly while I've been working on everybody else's boats.
04:00Our boat works fine from a functionality standpoint,
04:02but my wife likes to say,
04:04a cobbler's kids wear the worst shoes.
04:06I haven't had much time to myself lately.
04:08He's got big dreams of owning his own business,
04:10but he just hasn't gotten around to it yet,
04:12despite having everything he needs to make it happen,
04:14and the years just keep passing by.
04:15I'm trying to start an LLC for my business called Red Beard Maritime Maintenance.
04:19I would like to maybe be more contributory to planning our future,
04:23but I really haven't been focusing on it,
04:25because of time and paperwork.
04:27I think he definitely has an ambition to grow what he's building,
04:32but he's just not doing a lot of what needs to be done.
04:36Bay leaves the launch, huh?
04:38That was a good movie.
04:39And it was on a boat.
04:40Him turning 40 to me is a projection on our future.
04:45What are the next 40 years going to be like if he's still stuck?
04:50I think it's time for him to know that he can do
04:53a little bit more than just good enough.
04:55Midlife crisis.
04:56There you have it.
04:57At the end of the week,
04:58Greg is having a birthday party at the marina.
05:00This is our first birthday hero.
05:02We've never got a houseboat.
05:04Ooh la la.
05:05Finally, one thing you guys haven't done.
05:07You finally get your first with us.
05:09Ah!
05:11So our mission,
05:12we're helping Greg go from first mate
05:14to captain of his future.
05:16Yay!
05:18Aye aye, captain!
05:19This is his boat right here.
05:21There he is.
05:21There he is.
05:22There he is.
05:22Hey, Red Bear!
05:24Happy birthday!
05:26Thank you.
05:27Can I grab a line for you, captain?
05:28Yay!
05:30Hi, Red!
05:31Thanks for having us.
05:33Happy birthday!
05:35Nice to meet you.
05:36Nice to meet you, honey.
05:38How Americana, how houseboat.
05:41I am so excited!
05:43We got little Rue.
05:45Can we get a tour?
05:46Of course you can.
05:46Do you guys want to lead the way?
05:47We call it the Nickel Tour
05:48because it's not big enough to be a dime.
05:50Oh, okay.
05:51But yeah, come on for the Nickel Tour.
05:52Come aboard.
05:54It's not as big of a boat as I was expecting.
05:57I don't know why I was expecting, like,
05:59a mini-yacht situation.
06:01Give us the grand tour.
06:02This is the cockpit.
06:03I love gate stuff.
06:04I enter this forward.
06:06Most people, you should go backwards like a ladder.
06:08I do not have sea legs.
06:10No.
06:10From the outside, I was like, where do y'all live?
06:12Well, let's let everyone in here.
06:13And then you walk downstairs.
06:16And I still don't understand how three people live in this boat.
06:18This is okay.
06:20This boat is giving me opportunity.
06:23You think we're gonna get everyone in?
06:25There's a lot going on.
06:26We're all about personal space in our boat.
06:28Yeah.
06:29Yet you don't get any.
06:30It is crowded.
06:32There is things in every corner, on every wall.
06:35Oh, God.
06:35Thank you.
06:36It doesn't need a full-on deep plane facelift.
06:40This boat needs a Lindsay Lohan glow-up.
06:42Not a Kris Jenner glow-up.
06:44You know what I'm saying?
06:44It just needs a little...
06:46Let's give them the full tour.
06:47Okay, guys.
06:47So, right now, you're in both the salon and the galley.
06:50And the foyer.
06:51And the foyer.
06:52The kitchen's amazing.
06:53Slay.
06:54How's it working for you?
06:55Not great.
06:56So, this is my room.
06:58My room's a little bit of a mess.
06:59What?
07:00Was that two bedrooms?
07:01Wow.
07:01Two bed, too bad.
07:03Rue, what do you guys do in this room when you're together as a family?
07:07Sometimes we sit on the couch and just watch stuff.
07:11There's a projector screen and we project movies.
07:13Oh, come on.
07:13That's so romantic.
07:15Have you done a lot of work on the boat?
07:16I have, actually.
07:17But it's all been necessity-based work.
07:19Like nothing that's like...
07:20Nothing cosmetic.
07:21But it could use a little bit of beautification.
07:23Do you want change?
07:25I would love if it looked a little bit cleaner.
07:28Like a refresh?
07:29Yeah.
07:30But what fixing do we need to do for you?
07:31Yeah.
07:32Forget the boat.
07:32Maybe we're asking the wrong person.
07:34Why are we here?
07:35What the real real?
07:36I think it's time for a moment for Greg.
07:40I think he's fixed everybody else's boats and there just hasn't been any time to really
07:44look in the mirror and say, I need a little beard trim.
07:46I'd love a nice, good push for him to get to where he can feel great about himself.
07:52A reset.
07:53And he's been fixing everyone's boats.
07:56So I think he should get a break.
07:58Yeah, we gotta fix his boat.
07:59This is nav desk.
08:01Breaker 9-4.
08:02Check.
08:02So this is technically the master cabin.
08:04These are brand new matches we just had made for Aubrey and I.
08:06They're technically queen-sized, but they're in weird angles.
08:08Over and out, Captain.
08:09And then this is where Rue's makeup is as well.
08:11Oh, she's already into the makeup.
08:13Yeah, yeah.
08:14My daughter.
08:14Much to my dismay.
08:15Just wait.
08:16The toys are gonna go away.
08:18Yeah.
08:18That's the most devastating part.
08:20Talk to me about this boat.
08:22Have you ever, like, dreamt up, like, what you thought it would feel like?
08:25It's like a little cabin, right?
08:26I like that kind of feel about it, but, like, also, I've been saying I'm gonna finish the
08:30trim on this for 10 years.
08:32And also, these cabinets go back to this corner and this is a void of unusable space on the floor.
08:38It turns out bamboo's not great for water.
08:39It's not good.
08:40It's aged, though, obviously.
08:41Same.
08:42With the state of this boat, you look around, and I think all he sees are the things he wants
08:46to fix.
08:47For me, it means that we're dealing with somebody that may be a little stuck.
08:51This week, I'm gonna make it beautiful.
08:53I'm gonna help them make it a little bit more functional, make it work a little bit better
08:57for their family.
08:58It's my first boat, Greg.
09:00Well, looking on the bright side, if anything were to happen that would go totally left field,
09:03I'm the person to call to fix it anyways.
09:05Oh, perfect.
09:07As you can see, we have a couple tiny peppers over there.
09:12Doing a piece of basil.
09:13Okay.
09:14Smell it to make sure it's basil, right?
09:16Yeah, that's basil.
09:17Mmm.
09:17Mmm.
09:18This is the whole closet.
09:20What's going on over here?
09:23This boat's gorgeous, but it's tiny.
09:25If I were to live on this houseboat, I would probably not wear as many heels.
09:29I would probably do more flats, more tennis shoes, sandals, not heels, not platforms.
09:36Come on, keep coming.
09:36You got it.
09:37Come, come.
09:38Come, come.
09:40Yes, girl.
09:41Squat.
09:41Ow.
09:42You got this.
09:43Might hit my head a little bit.
09:45Ooh.
09:46I see only functionality.
09:48I don't see space for relaxation and organization.
09:51Oh, my.
09:52He's not afraid of color or koalas.
09:55That doesn't surprise me that we've got this.
09:57I mean, I do hate it, but I'm not surprised he's got it.
10:00Oh.
10:01Ooh.
10:02La.
10:04Yes, detail.
10:05Okay, I really want to talk to him about that.
10:07Do you like cilantro?
10:08Yeah.
10:08Some people don't.
10:09It tastes like soap for some of them.
10:10Isn't that sad?
10:11Why?
10:11I know.
10:12It's like a genetic thing.
10:13You'll learn about that at some point in school.
10:16Can I calm down?
10:17Yeah.
10:17Come on, then.
10:17Gosh.
10:18You know, some bits more tasteful than others.
10:20Most of your clothes are tees and cargo pants, it seems.
10:24Yeah.
10:25That's your uniform for the job.
10:26Okay.
10:27Yeah, so it's me gonna get dirty.
10:28I'm working on plumbing.
10:29I'm working on fiberglassing.
10:31Okay, can we talk about these?
10:32We can talk about this, yes.
10:34Where are you wearing him?
10:35But I wear this to just go play pool.
10:37This is your going out top.
10:38No, this is just another layer in the winter.
10:41But it's your going out top.
10:42Well, to be honest, this shirt was from a Halloween costume I got.
10:46And you liked the style so much, even though it was a Halloween costume, that you then got
10:49it in every color you could find.
10:51Just because you live on a boat, I don't think you need to dress like a pirate.
10:55I live in a two-to home.
10:57That doesn't mean I'm wearing period costumes around the house.
11:00Well, okay.
11:01Maybe once you're gonna start your business, right?
11:05But to get the business, every now and then you need to look presentable.
11:09Why don't we really care what people think?
11:10He wants to own his own business.
11:13The way you present yourself to the world can really impact how you then move forward.
11:18A different outfit will encourage him to do that next thing that he wants to do.
11:21And it just takes one step at a time.
11:27Do you want an ice cold drink?
11:29What?
11:30Cheers.
11:31Cheers.
11:32Yes.
11:3310 years together.
11:34That's a beautiful thing.
11:35He's such a great energy, great person.
11:37He just is truly authentically himself.
11:39Yeah.
11:40What do you want for the next 10?
11:41Oh, I would love more, you know, time together.
11:47There's a lot of room for him to set boundaries and create space for himself.
11:50Mmm.
11:51And make some plans for him.
11:54The plans?
11:54What kind of plans does he need to make?
11:56Making plans for our daughter's future, making plans for our own future.
11:59Maybe build his own business.
12:01How long has he been trying to do that?
12:02I mean, he's been talking about stuff like that for years.
12:05And in order to do that, you have to get certain licenses, a captain's license.
12:09And he has logged the hours.
12:11He just hasn't gone through the paperwork and the steps to finish.
12:15Mm-hmm.
12:15So those, you know, and if you bring it up, the excuses will come out.
12:20I think it's a procrastination thing, maybe.
12:22I don't know.
12:23That's why I want you here.
12:24Greg is 40, which means it is time to start taking life a little bit more seriously and
12:29start really planning for your future.
12:30I like this life.
12:31I could do this.
12:32I don't like boats, but I could do this.
12:34Like, I can do this all day long.
12:37So the kitchen is pretty fascinating.
12:39You have more spices than most people out there.
12:42We like to cook.
12:42A lot of tempeh, a lot of tofu.
12:44Okay.
12:44There's jackfruit in there, lots of coconut milk, quinoas.
12:47Yep.
12:48We're fully vegan.
12:49Why veganism?
12:49Three different people on both sides of our family all got diagnosed with cancer.
12:53So we decided, you know what?
12:53There's enough studies linked to connections between the two that we can just cut it out anyways.
12:57You do most of the cooking, or is it something that's like a full family affair?
13:00It's 50-50 when we're both here.
13:02I've just got to the point now where I don't like to buy stuff that I can cook better.
13:05Yeah.
13:06I've got my five-blend Chinese stuff, or if I'm gonna, like, make a remoulin.
13:10I don't have to teach him how to chop an onion.
13:12That gives me more of an opportunity to actually get to know him better.
13:15Okay.
13:16So this is the outdoor shower.
13:17Quite romantic.
13:18Yeah.
13:21Oh, I love a cave exploration with you.
13:23Oh, we've got quite the hat collection.
13:26Ah, Helga the warrior.
13:29Take me now.
13:30Someone get you a leather bra.
13:31Hi, Camille.
13:32Help me out.
13:38Oh, it means, um, live, laugh, love.
13:41Does it?
13:42No, you did.
13:43This is not about me, but I do have to say thank you so much for allowing me to, like,
13:47rock this nautical vibe.
13:48But this is, like, such a good occasion, you know?
13:50Yeah.
13:51Tits out.
13:51Little nautical dress.
13:53Like, in D.C.
13:54I'm obsessed.
13:54But wait, tell me.
13:55How do you take care of yourself?
13:56I get it in the morning as fast as I can.
13:59Yes.
13:59And what does it look like?
14:01Uh, shave my head, maybe.
14:02Okay.
14:03Uh, daily face moisturizer occasionally.
14:06It's got SPF in it, so I have to have sunscreen.
14:07Okay, love that.
14:08Do you always just have this, like, stunning Lieutenant Dan beard?
14:11It goes in varying lengths.
14:12It depends on how hot it is and if I've trimmed it or not.
14:14All right.
14:14Well, we can experiment in, like, a non-creepy way.
14:16It's gonna be great.
14:18I want to show Greg that he doesn't have to choose between showing up for himself and
14:22showing up for others.
14:23He can do both.
14:24Going past 40 with self-care and style, honey.
14:27I will try and give as much style as you can give me.
14:29Queers, come on.
14:30Are you ready for this week with us?
14:32I think I'm as ready as I can be.
14:34That's fine.
14:34And don't you worry, queens.
14:35We're gonna take really good care of him, honey.
14:37I wanna go with that.
14:39After you.
14:40Oh, well, thank you.
14:41Bye, Dad.
14:42Bye, Ru.
14:43Bye.
14:43Bye.
14:43Bye, you guys.
14:49Oh, my gosh.
14:50Good job, girl.
14:51What are you gonna do with that?
14:52It's a model boat in a bottle.
14:54She did it.
14:56Oh, you're so butch.
14:57Oh, wow.
14:57I knew you could do it.
14:58Thanks for Greg.
14:59That's cute.
14:59I could live on a little boat.
15:01You could never live on a little boat.
15:02What would you do about your closet, Tan?
15:04Do you know what?
15:05I could condense it.
15:06You are lying.
15:07I know you wouldn't, girl.
15:08Give me a yacht, girl.
15:09Give me a yacht, baby.
15:11You guys have really changed.
15:13I really wanna talk about how cute his little daughter was.
15:16Oh, Ru is Ru.
15:17Yes.
15:17I love Ru.
15:18Also, he's turning 40.
15:21Yeah.
15:21It's a scary one.
15:22It's a good one.
15:24He feels lost.
15:26I think that he just needs a bit of a kick up the backside.
15:29When you are in your middle age and you become complacent,
15:32it's really hard to pull yourself out of it.
15:34There's still things that he can achieve.
15:36He doesn't have to settle for what he's doing right now.
15:38I really am excited to help him with clothes.
15:40He wants to start a business.
15:42And so, I think I wanna change up how he presents himself to the world.
15:45And I think he might get there.
15:46I'm very excited for you and super nervous for me.
15:49Tell me about you.
15:51It's our first boat.
15:51It's our first boat.
15:52And boats are really tricky because everything has to be custom done.
15:56And the weight as well.
15:57Can't do marble, can't do granite, can't do any type of natural.
15:59Because they'll sink it.
16:00Yeah.
16:00Yeah.
16:01I just want it to feel warm.
16:04Yeah.
16:04You know, and like home.
16:05A little toast to Greg and his family.
16:07Yeah.
16:07And little baby Rue.
16:08And a Rue.
16:09I love Rue.
16:18Hey.
16:33Hello, Chef.
16:35How's it going?

22:34¡Gracias por ver el video!
22:39¡Gracias por ver el video!
22:41MMM It is very good Wow you really love your avocados
22:45Do you want to use your knife?
22:47Are you my child?
22:48I don't know, right?
22:49Who raised you?
22:50She's not land broken.
22:52And may she never be?
23:00Shall we?
23:01Yeah.
23:04Most of your life is spent in cargoes and a tee shirt.
23:09Right now you are working for another company
23:12Doing mechanic work on boats
23:14But you might be interested in doing your own thing
23:16Why have you not done that up to this point?
23:19Paperwork and time, essentially
23:20It's just paperwork and there's got to be time at some point
23:23What are you doing in your free time?
23:25Probably a beach chair with a drink in my hand
23:27Okay
23:27Playing billiards
23:28Yeah
23:30Boat work
23:30Even in your free time?
23:32Yeah
23:32So I was a business owner
23:34For the first two and a half, almost three years of my business
23:36I worked as a receptionist and ran by your business
23:39I still made time to work on every bit of paperwork
23:43To get my business off the ground
23:45So I'm not trying to call you out
23:46But I'm going to call you out just a little bit
23:49I'm not trying to
23:49Could you forfeit one of those nights of drinking
23:52And focus on your paperwork?
23:53I mean if you want to look at it from that direction, yeah
23:55You're a bit of a procrastinator
23:57Do you agree or no?
23:59I agree, yeah
23:59I do procrastinate on certain things
24:01Then I also have things that prioritize, right?
24:04When I had my businesses
24:05I was working towards making myself redundant
24:09You graft real hard for a short period of time
24:13But then you don't have to work as much as you're working
24:15Because then you're in a position to hire other people
24:17Do you see that as a future?
24:19Yeah
24:20I want to get you ready for the time when you do start to lean into
24:25Getting your own business off the ground
24:27I'm assuming that you will need to take some meetings
24:30And look presentable
24:31Yeah
24:32I'm not saying you don't look presentable right now
24:33But you look very casual
24:34Did Aubrey tell you I'm not, I'm anti-collar
24:36Anti-collar, like collar?
24:38Shirt collar, yeah I hate shirt collars
24:39Tell me about it
24:40Because it's uncomfortable
24:41I think to a certain point
24:42What's the f***ing point of it?
24:44I almost did wear a collared shirt today
24:46Okay
24:46I thought my wife thinks this looks nice
24:48Not because I think it looks nice
24:50I f***ing hate that shirt
24:50Does she make an effort when you go out?
24:52Yes, but she's just comfortable
24:53I love comfortable clothing
24:55So let's also look at options for like date night
24:58Okay
24:58There are versions of collared shirts that aren't like stuffy
25:03I hate collared shirts, man
25:04Can I try and convince you otherwise?
25:06I mean, you're welcome to, yeah
25:07Let's say for example, this isn't a typical blazer
25:10It's a work shirt
25:11But it's also a suit
25:15Have you seen anything like this before?
25:17Old Japanese work shirts?
25:18Yeah
25:18I just think of that and see pajamas
25:22Can I show you how it's not that?
25:24I will, yeah, sure
25:25Outside of his uniform
25:27He's a playful guy
25:28Let's see, maybe you will think it does look like one
25:31But let's get you in it and we'll see
25:32But he's now 40
25:34I want him to just step it up just a little bit
25:37I really want him to be in loose linens and flowy pants
25:41Just slightly more tailored pieces
25:43In a way that feels appropriate for his nautical life
25:47I might actually like your hat with it
25:50I'm not mad at the hat at all
25:52I like that you've got an accessory
25:54Tell me what you think
25:54Well, collared shirts, obviously, right?
25:56Because f***ing collared shirts, man
25:58But I look like a retired Russian mobster's bodyguard in Miami
26:03But it's comfortable
26:04Okay
26:05I mean, I can't see where I would wear this in what setting
26:09To a meeting?
26:10Sure
26:11It seems super formal still to me for some reason
26:14Wow
26:14Are you anti-establishment?
26:17Oh, man, yeah, I agree with Rage Against the Machine 100%
26:20I don't even know what that means
26:21Rage Against the Machine's a band
26:22Oh, oh, okay
26:24I can tell you don't like to be told what to do
26:26Yeah, it's not really my thing
26:27But I do wonder if the pushback on clothes is that you don't like the establishment
26:33That's fair
26:34The reason I started my business is because no one got to tell me what to do anymore
26:38Like, you could get there
26:39You could be completely anti-establishment
26:41And you could have no one telling you what to do
26:43Because you're your own boss entirely
26:47Hopefully what you learn from us this week is that you have an option to live the life that you
26:51want to live
26:52You have an opportunity to get there
26:54It's just taking the next step to make sure you get there
26:58Like, what is it?
26:59What's your loftiest dream?
27:00I mean, one day is to retire when I'm 50
27:03I'm trying to be a trophy husband
27:04That's what I'm trying to do
27:05That's not long away
27:06That's 10 years
27:07Having your own business gets you there
27:10Gets you to retirement
27:11I think so to a certain degree
27:12Okay
27:13The way you present yourself to the world helps you achieve success
27:17It does
27:17Because if you make yourself an effort in your appearance
27:19You might make an effort on my job
27:21On my boat
27:22Yeah
27:22So let's try and get you there
27:26Go ahead
27:27I'm with it
27:27Thank you
27:28Yep
27:33Well, well, well
27:36I would like to just bring that up slightly
27:39Right
27:40Give me your thoughts, please
27:41This is kind of what I wore in my wedding
27:43These pants are f***ing awesome
27:45Great
27:45I think going forward
27:47This could work for life
27:49Outside of just the maintenance part of your job
27:52Date night
27:53Hang out
27:54To a meeting
27:55Waist down, I'm happy
27:56Great
27:57There's a joke to me
27:58Anyways
28:00Get out of this
28:01Let's get you going
28:09With a boat
28:10So much of what you do
28:12And how you improve it
28:13Is highly specialized
28:15And all custom work
28:17And the truth is
28:17We don't have the ability
28:18Or the time to do custom work
28:20And Greg needs help finishing what he started
28:24I can't do as much as I would like
28:26Especially structurally
28:27So I'm really grateful
28:28Allied Bank are coming through
28:30For Greg and his family
28:31This is about helping them with their future
28:33Giving them the flexibility to decide
28:35What they want to do
28:36How they want to do it
28:37And when they want to do it
28:51Have you ever been out here?
28:53No
28:53I do like an astronomy tower
28:54It's pretty
28:55It's very pretty
28:57Greg's life needs direction
28:58When someone is procrastinating
29:00Something deeper is going on
29:01It's time that Greg figures out
29:03What's been blocking him
29:04From focusing on himself
29:05And his goals
29:06There's so much more that you deserve
29:08I know it's just your birthday
29:10And I know some people
29:11Will be like 40s old
29:12But you're young
29:1340 is the new 25, sir
29:14It is, okay?
29:15Yeah, I mean, look at me
29:16You look great
29:16Humble, too
29:19When we did meet the first time
29:21I didn't get to spend
29:22That much time with you
29:22No
29:23Your wife told me
29:24You don't really focus on you
29:27Fair
29:27Something else that I heard
29:28Is that you have a lot of projects
29:31And goals
29:32Yeah
29:32That you haven't done yet
29:34Yeah
29:35Can you tell me about those?
29:36Uh, well I'm trying to get an LLC started
29:38Okay
29:39That's one thing
29:39That I've just been putting
29:40In the back burner
29:41And I'm trying to do that
29:42While I'm doing everything else
29:44I'm just constantly busy
29:45With most likely
29:46Not my own shit
29:47Okay
29:47Yeah
29:48So it confirms
29:48Yeah
29:49Yeah, no
29:50There's a lot
29:50There's a lot of shit going on
29:51Well, what about you?
29:54Every point of your life
29:56Is about others
29:57Others
29:58Them
29:59When did you forget
30:00The I
30:01Me
30:02My
30:04I don't know
30:05I almost kind of feel selfish
30:08To be honest
30:09Why do you feel selfish?
30:11Because I feel like I have a lot
30:15I get to live on a boat
30:16With my favorite people in the world
30:19Like, how much more do you need?
30:20Or should I need?
30:22A lot more
30:23Okay
30:24And this is not a selfish thing
30:26It's about you as a human being
30:28That gives so much
30:29Does deserve more
30:3130-year-old you
30:32Decided
30:33It's not about me
30:34And I'm going to make sure
30:36That the 40-year-old you
30:37Now knows it is
30:38What's the name of the business?
30:39Redbeard Maritime Maintenance
30:41Oh my gosh
30:41I love that
30:42That is genius
30:44The more that you include you
30:46Is the more that
30:47Your life
30:48And everything
30:49Is going to become
30:50So much richer
30:51I know
30:52I know
30:52I know
30:53But I do
30:53I do
30:53I understand
30:54I deserve more
30:55Stop there
30:56The fact that you just said
30:58I deserve more
30:59Is where I need that to end
31:00Alright
31:00Sometimes we are telling yourself
31:02The narrative that
31:03Oh, I don't need anything else
31:04You've got to refocus
31:06One conversation with me
31:07Is not going to just
31:08Snap it in
31:09You're the guy, man
31:10What are you talking about?
31:11Come on
31:12I'm here to plant a seed
31:13I got you
31:14Start watering that seed
31:16I'm here to be your North Star
31:17You're on boat
31:18There you go
31:47There you go
31:49Whenever you see like
31:51You're a North Star
31:52What do you remember?
31:53Think about myself
31:54And
31:55I'm going to think about
31:56My goals
31:57Which include
31:58Getting my L.C. done
32:00Getting my captain's license
32:01And doing things for myself
32:03And telling other people
32:04It'll f**k right off
32:05Yes!
32:06It's a beautiful sight
32:09Ah, come on
32:11Lose yourself
32:13You gotta let your spirit shine
32:18Welcome, darling
32:19We're at Bishops
32:20Cuts in color
32:21For gorgeous sea boat captains
32:24Who want to look hot, too
32:26Why thank you
32:27Greg is having his 40th birthday party tonight
32:29He is celebrating this beautiful life
32:32That he's built
32:33Rapunzel, Rapunzel
32:34Let's see what's underneath that hat
32:37Ah, my God
32:38This length
32:39Look at this guy
32:41Your beard is really
32:42The star of the show
32:43How do you shape your beard normally?
32:45Square it up
32:46And then do you ever do anything with this?
32:48Just trim it up
32:49But you're not doing like a handlebar
32:51Exactly
32:51I can't pull the handlebar
32:53Unlike some people
32:53Well, I did do that for a while
32:55Yeah
32:55I'm going to go get our barber
32:56Because here's the thing about me
32:57Barbering is not my bag
32:58I will do like a barber moment
33:00If I have to
33:00Like if there's no other barber
33:01In like a 50 mile radius
33:02I can't do that much with Greg
33:04Because he doesn't want to wear a lace front
33:06He doesn't want to wear a wig
33:07This is Javon
33:08Javon, this is Greg
33:09He likes being bald
33:11But you know what?
33:12Sailor man
33:13Let's give a little
33:14Uh to that beard
33:16Let's put your beard in the big girl's shoes
33:18Fine by me, baby
33:20You know
33:20Confuse that beard with a little bit of pizzazz
33:23No limits
33:24Blow away to critics
33:25Nobody want to leave the party
33:26Might not ever finish
33:27So get up on your feet
33:28Dance to the rhythm
33:29Putting on a clinic
33:30Moving a mile a minute
33:31We're going to do a little beard steam
33:33To kind of moisturize the beard a little
33:36Something that you can totally recreate on the boat
33:39Does this towel make my nose look big?
33:41It does not
33:43I'm going to do like a little express facial on you
33:45For your skin
33:45Facial?
33:46Reminds me of college
33:47Just kidding
33:48We'll keep it professional for everybody
33:49We're so sorry
33:50So when you're at home
33:51Like you're just like sitting chilling
33:53And then people just come over
33:54And they're like
33:54Can you fix this?
33:55Can you fix that?
33:56Are you just like constantly on?
33:58My phone just goes off constantly
33:59I feel like
33:59Hey
34:00Just so you know
34:01This is busted
34:02Calm down
34:03Settle in
34:04And just have a little relaxation moment
34:07Using a makeover as a reset
34:09Can like inspire Greg
34:10To pursue his passion
34:11But also take care of himself
34:13While he's doing it
34:14We like to take care of people
34:16But then it's like
34:17At some point I feel like
34:18You do need to turn off
34:20Yeah
34:20It's probably not a bad idea
34:23Oh
34:24Like a loving boundary
34:25Yeah
34:26This is my special slutty oil
34:28I only use it on Boat Captain One
34:31Is it extra slutty?
34:32Yes
34:33Oh my god
34:34This brush crush is kind of major
34:36She kind of like it
34:37What do you call it?
34:37It's a brush crush
34:38And it like brushes your beard smoother
34:40Okay
34:41You literally just brush this bad boy
34:42Through your beard
34:43Ah
34:44Is it like a curling iron almost?
34:47Yes
34:47It like smooths it out
34:49Now your beard needs to run for office
34:52This is stunning
34:56Look at this captain
34:58Aye aye
34:59Look at you
35:01Look at me
35:02And look at your beard
35:03But it does look nice
35:04It looks good right?
35:05Now do you see a little bit more hydration in your skin?
35:07Yeah
35:07Look at this side
35:09But now look at this side
35:11But look at this side
35:13He looks so handsome
35:14He did so good
35:15I'm gonna do the butchest thing I've ever done in my life right now
35:17Ready?
35:17Yes sir
35:17Oh
35:19Hello
35:19What are you doing here?
35:21I've come to pick up Greg
35:22He's gonna take you in his biceps
35:24And he's gonna hold you until the pain goes away
35:25At your new boat house
35:27You look so great
35:28Thank you
35:28You're so cute honey
35:29Alright come on Greg
35:30We're going to see your new boat
35:32Today is
35:3498
35:34I know
35:35I just got my face steamed
35:36Yum
35:37Love that
35:38Was it weird for you to turn 40?
35:41I forgot
35:42Well that's the way to do it
35:43What age do you feel?
35:45I'd say 30s
35:46Yeah
35:46Are you nervous?
35:47I'm not that nervous
35:49I'm nervous
35:50Yeah
35:51You do this for a living and I'm redoing your boat
36:01Look at
36:03Oh shit
36:08I think it's lovely
36:10She's had a proper cleaning
36:11She has
36:13New cushions
36:13See you've done some teak work
36:15We have done a lot of staining
36:17We've done like four or five coats
36:19That looks great
36:20Oh you've revitalized my failing garden
36:23I've got everything in there from herbs, vegetables, you name it
36:26Brand new sale on the top
36:28Well it looks f***ing lovely
36:30Thank you
36:31Yeah
36:31Yeah
36:33The only reason I say this is because I'm in the service industry as well as you know
36:37You just can't be the cobbler with bad shoes
36:39Yeah I know
36:39But you walk past this boat and you're like
36:41Listen you already have a beautiful reputation professionally
36:43But also look at the way he lives
36:45Look at what he does
36:46Yes
36:46That was my real perspective going through this
36:49So it's like how can I add to all the hard work
36:50And all the sweat equity you've already put in everything
36:52And that was my goal with this
36:56I know these people
36:57Hi
36:59Welcome home
37:00Thank you
37:01Hey
37:02Hey
37:03Give me a hug
37:04Is that pink in your hair?
37:07Yeah
37:07Shut it down
37:10Wow
37:11Let's go inside
37:13You ready?
37:14Oh man the teak
37:15This is amazing
37:21Oh my
37:24Wow
37:33Oh my
37:34Look at that
37:41I love this
37:42The rope
37:43And the ceiling
37:44And the wood
37:45They treated all the wood
37:47Then you trimmed it all out I see
37:51There's no hole here anymore
37:53Yeah
37:53Look at that floor
37:55I love the black
37:56It is a little bit more seamless now
37:58And these are laminates and they're waterproof
38:00I think it's lovely
38:02And this is really about kind of utilizing what you already have
38:09Breathing a little bit of fresh air into it
38:11You know there's like a drape here if you guys want to put things away but you don't have to
38:14stare at it
38:15But everything is put away
38:16Yeah
38:17Well thank you
38:18I love the lamps
38:19Look at us
38:20We own a piece of furniture
38:22It's on wheels
38:23It's awesome
38:23Look we have paintings
38:25And the mirrors
38:26So it kind of feels like even bigger
38:28It's a good idea
38:29Look at all that
38:31Who knew we had that much counter
38:32Yeah
38:33It's a vinyl wrap made to look like marble
38:36Did you see the spices?
38:37Spices and knickknacks
38:38Everything for the kitchen
38:39All new dishware
38:40New sink
38:41Beautiful
38:43My room
38:52Look at that room
38:55This is the best day of all my life
39:02My room
39:03I love it
39:03I love it
39:09She's so special
39:13I love it
39:14Thank you
39:17Is it pink enough?
39:19Yes
39:23You gotta come
39:24Oh my
39:27Mom
39:27Mom
39:28You literally have to come in here
39:32That's all cleared off
39:35I love the bed
39:37I love it
39:39I love it
39:39I just love it
39:42We're all super inspired by your family
39:44And obviously we did not have a ton of time
39:46And everything in a boat takes time
39:48And everything has to be custom
39:49And so we reached out to our friends at Ally Bank
39:51They were generous enough to give you guys $15,000
39:54Oh
39:56The idea is that it's, you know, customizable savings buckets that they have
40:00To be able to really kind of use however you want
40:03Da-da-da
40:04Yes
40:05Do you want to read it?
40:09$15,000
40:10For both
40:12For Rue and Aubrey
40:14And most importantly for you, Greg
40:16I wanted to come in with a big, like, folder
40:18Yes
40:18With cash
40:19Like I thought that would be
40:21Much more dramatic
40:22It's overwhelming
40:23It's absolutely overwhelming
40:24Wow
40:25I love it
40:26You love it?
40:28Thank you
40:28Everyone does
40:29Should we jump in the water and go swimming?
40:31Oh my gosh
40:32I would love to cool down
40:33Like you wouldn't believe
40:33You want to come help me find my four other friends?
40:38Danny
40:38I love my room
40:40Can I step in?
40:41Come on up
40:43Gregoire
40:44Hello

40:57All right, kids

41:07Wow, wow, wow

41:11Doesn't like attention
41:12Well, you're gonna get it
41:13Thank you
41:14Wow, if I wasn't physically attracted to you before
41:17I definitely am now, honey
41:19I'm not concerned about if you're physically attracted to him
41:21Aubrey
41:22Yes
41:22Hello
41:25Oh, sweet
41:26I wanted to keep you in a white pan
41:29Because, well, it's hotter than heck right now
41:31And a linen top
41:32As opposed to a t-shirt
41:34I wanted to give you something that felt easy breezy, casual
41:37And I think you look gorgeous
41:39Thank you
41:39Gorgeous
41:40I love this outfit
41:41Come on, let's go to the bow
41:43Take me to your flagpole
41:45I got something for you

41:49You love it?
41:50I do love it
41:51Okay, good
41:51When people are around, I want them to know that the flag is down, it means you're not working
41:55The flag is up, it means you're working
41:56All right
41:57That's a view, okay?
41:58I like that
41:58Right?
41:58There's some boundaries here
42:00I like that
42:00It's also a reminder to you that your business is going to be happening, your goals will be happening

44:07¡My room has so much space!
44:10We all have this preconceived idea
44:12que tienes que comprar una casa, tienes que hacer esto,
44:14tienes que tener una mortgage,
44:15pero la verdad es que la casa es realmente donde están,
44:18y tienen eso porque de esta boat.
44:20¡Gracias!
44:21¡Oh, mamá, mamá!
44:23¿Dónde lo miras dentro de aquí?
44:25¡Wow!
44:27¡Nos panes! ¿Dónde ves eso?
44:29No importa cómo small el espacio es,
44:30no importa donde es, lo que es,
44:32la casa es la casa.
44:33Es lo que es lo que te hace y es donde te hace.

45:12The fact that I've gotten to do this for 10 years gives me so much pride.
45:19Every one of us knows somebody that needs love, support, kindness, community.
45:25There are opportunities to do what we do everywhere you look.
45:30It's so easy to take someone at face value.
45:33We're so much more than that.
45:35Ask that question, who are you?
45:39How can I help? How can I help make your life better?
45:42The only way we all move forward is by seeing each other's humanity and caring.
45:52I really hope that if you take nothing else away, no French took, no coordination, no pattern, no print,
46:00I hope that the one thing you take away is kindness for people around you.
46:06Really understanding that the world is so much greater than ourselves.
46:32I really hope that...
46:36I'll welcome you one of us for the first class.
46:37We love you, guys.
46:38I reallyokers.
