00:03Wow oh my god families across Australia are drowning in clutter this is what we
00:14took out of your house for all of them the stakes are high and they're desperate for
00:24help clutter is anything that gets between you and the life you want to live Peter Walsh frees
00:33them from the stuff holding them back while Sheree Barber renovates their homes in record time
00:43and Angie Kent brings much loved treasures back to life it gives me goosebumps
00:54it's the greatest oh my god transformation amazing of their lives
01:1325 year old Michael was born with cerebral palsy affecting his speech and ability to walk
01:20when he was just 14 his mum died suddenly from a brain hemorrhage and two years ago his dad was
01:28killed in a tragic car accident leaving Michael alone in the family home now his dad's best friend
01:35Anne is worried a new crisis is brewing Michael's a really fun loving guy he's very positive happy
01:44go lucky but he hides a lot of his feelings it's a lot for a young person to suddenly lose
01:52both parents
01:54I know he's struggling because the clutter in the place has gotten a lot worse since his father has
02:01passed waking up and looking at the clutter going oh yeah that's not great I do feel embarrassed
02:11there's a lot of my dad's stuff around and so it can be quite hard to look at it brings
02:16up some you
02:17know good memories but also some painful for one too mikey's having a hard time getting rid of stuff
02:25because I feel like he's lost a little bit and he really needs a fresh start
02:41memories of loved ones are precious but being surrounded by their clutter after they're gone
02:46can be paralysing and for Michael the heartbreaking loss of his parents at such a young age means he
02:53needs our help to move forward with his life oh Michael guess what we're in the right place
03:02I can see clutter already hey may we come in of course okay let's do this come on guys let's
03:07go
03:12there's a lot of stuff in here Michael hello Anne right hello lots of clutter tell us about
03:19these rooms so this is the living room where I will watch tv and chill out uh-huh and uh
03:25occasionally
03:26get dressed yes okay good so you've been in this house for 25 years i've lived here with my mum
03:33and
03:34my dad then they divorced and my mum moved out and when i was 14 she had a headache and
03:41then she just
03:42went to go lie down and then she passed away due to a brain hemorrhage and then my dad was
03:49struck by a
03:50car and that was instant to death for him i miss them more than anything in the world
04:00so you've had quite a bit of tragedy yes absolutely and so looking around this house how long has it
04:07been like this probably since since my dad passed away two years ago okay ever since then it has been
04:12quite quite hard to you know what wake up out of bed and go to work and and and to
04:17do everything okay
04:18so talk to me a little bit about your cerebral palsy so i i did get the starter from the
04:24cerebral
04:24palsy okay and my right hand can't really function as well as my left hand okay so you know it
04:32makes
04:32it harder for me to lift lifting so if i'm doing work if i'm moving stuff around i'm using up
04:38to about
04:38five times more energy than a normal person i used to have to wear the leg brace on my right
04:45leg
04:46but mum and dad have raised me to just believe that i was normal like everybody else that there
04:51really wasn't anything wrong so i'm not physically as strong as everybody else but um like i don't let
05:00that like affect me so this is virtually still my dad's house okay because there has been nothing that
05:08has really changed or has been added in the two years that he's been gone but and how long have
05:14you
05:14been in michael's life since he was 12 i became really close friends with his dad and for me he's
05:22like a son i just love him i can't yeah it's hard to put in words i met michael's father
05:29scotty about 13
05:31years ago and it was not long after scotty died i was going through a really rough patch in my
05:37life
05:40sorry and i swear to god i heard my friend scotty say to me and get up off the couch
05:47right now my son
05:49needs you sorry and um i heard it again and not even five seconds later my kid was rigging me
05:58and
05:58i need a lift i'm stuck in the rain and i jumped off the couch from that moment it was
06:04like okay i'll have
06:06a purpose now sheree what are you thinking right now i can see the entry here i must say it's
06:12not very
06:12welcoming you've got a lot of clutter here i can see old fixtures and fittings old carpet and i must
06:19say i'm not so crazy about the yellow and ruby red color scheme yeah no what's your style uh i
06:25could
06:25just a a masculine style masculine okay that's good age what are you seeing here there's a lot of
06:32woodwork yes and a first prize is this your dad's yes what so he won first place for that bowl
06:41there
06:41so he was a woodworker by trade yes that is beautiful and where did he win first prize in
06:47the royal melbourne show oh wow so all of these things we're seeing around is stuff that he made
06:53yes absolutely is it important to you to have these still in the renovation yes absolutely what do you
07:01think your dad would want for you now oh he wouldn't want me to become my own person and to
07:08make this my
07:09own house and not my dad's house yeah yeah okay we've got a lot of work ahead of us what
07:15else do
07:15you want us to look at well if you walk down the hallway there you've got the master bedroom okay
07:20come
07:21on guys let's go come on good luck i'm nervous already let's go all right okay wow
07:31there is definitely a lot of stuff in here so was this your parents room yes and how long ago
07:38did you
07:39move in here about a year ago okay there's a couple of things i really want to talk to you
07:44about
07:44very directly yes how would you describe your state of mind depressed how do you deal with that just
07:52i just i'm able just to just kind of kind of block it out and then go on with the
07:58rest of my day okay
07:59for me there's this interplay between your physical environment and here yes yeah okay and at the moment
08:08your physical environment is in total disarray yes it's like a minefield yeah there are minefields
08:15everywhere here for you yes like you open a cupboard here and there's some of your stuff
08:22but then also some of my dad's they're very hard on it it's hard on me sometimes yeah you open
08:29the door
08:29and it's like the ghost of scott steps into the room you can feel it definitely yeah that's how
08:37i can imagine he's doing this every day these constant reminders of his parents traumatic passing
08:45are what i call malignant clutter and putting off dealing with it has left michael with unresolved grief
08:51and feeling depressed which stops him letting go of these possessions so he's going to need help to
08:57break free of that negative debilitating cycle what's the future for you just live here um maybe
09:07maybe start a family okay just live a very happy healthy healthy life i love that i love that like
09:18you have a dream yeah you have a dream for what you want yes of course then we're going to
09:22start
09:23packing up everything in this room let's get started let's do it awesome to help michael feel
09:30the house is truly his own the living and dining room hallway and bedroom are all packed up so
09:36everything can be taken to a warehouse for sorting there's a lot of really delicate woodworking stuff
09:44hold this for a sec bubble wrap double wrap them so the frames the wood and the glass stays protected
09:51you got it yep done
09:59in the backyard angie's hunting through a pile of unfinished woodwork projects
10:05i've spotted a beautiful old sundial that michael's dad worked on but it is missing its stand and the
10:12weather hasn't been kind to it so i'm gonna give it some much-needed love to make it shine
10:19out the front sheree notices the garden could also do with some tlc now your front yard i must say
10:26not looking so great i would love to tidy it up while i'm doing the renovation now i know you
10:31don't
10:31drive so i've organized for liz from gray care to take you to the nursery to choose plants okay so
10:37off you
10:48go
10:48coming up as the reno team kick into gear go peter is forced to slam on the brakes i want
10:56to be honest
10:56with you i'm not confident that there's going to be any change here michael
11:07the family home 25 year old michael has lived in all his life is being cleared of clutter and while
11:15his mum had moved out with her things before she died more than a decade ago his dad's belongings
11:20have been left untouched since he passed away two years ago i feel a little bit sad that i have
11:28to
11:29let stuff go but it's it's time for a change i think it'll be a little bit hard for him
11:35because
11:35it's always hard to let go of things especially things that mean so much to you with the last van
11:43loaded up the contents are taken to a nearby warehouse where the thousands of items are unpacked
11:50and separated into categories while angie makes sure no treasures are lost in the process walk this way
11:59it's up to michael with help from family friend dan to decide what to keep donate or recycle here we
12:06go it's a big day michael's cerebral palsy and unresolved grief over losing his dad have meant
12:14his struggle to deal with this mountain of clutter but to achieve his dream of creating a home that's
12:20truly his own while still honoring memories of the past i need michael to engage with this difficult
12:26task ahead of him michael when we got to your house let's be honest there was clutter everywhere
12:33on the count of three i would like you to open your eyes and have a look at what that
12:38clutter
12:39looks like laid out here before you one two three open your eyes holy wow that's a lot first up
12:55cds dvds
12:56is books and how many cords and electronics does one man need crazy music home goods decorative stuff
13:05i know your dad loved woodworking carving and so on look at this wow and a small amount of this
13:12was
13:12your dad's clothing yeah a lot of it is yours my friend and as well as the clothing 30 pieces
13:19of
13:20furniture oh wow 111 bins and boxes totes plastic containers to get all of your stuff from your home
13:30to here far out yeah far out what are you thinking it's just incredible how much stuff had been like
13:41gathering over over the over the years percentage wise i'd say close to 80 percent of this needs to go
13:48yeah you've had two years to process the grief of your dad passing but yet i see a massive amount
13:54of memory stuff here yeah and the concern is how we deal with that it felt like he's in here
14:01at the
14:01moment for me you feel he's present yeah in what way it's just like he's here with me mikey to
14:08support
14:08us yeah help us along yeah we've got a lot to get through let's get started come with me let's
14:14go come on
14:16here we go
14:16reducing the clutter is one part of the process another is back at the house
14:23with just two days and a tight budget to transform the outdated living room
14:28dining room and main bedroom sheree and the team waste no time ripping out the old fixtures
14:36this place looks like it hasn't been renovated since it was built in the 1970s
14:41and that's a far cry from a 25 year old bachelor's modern dream and as michael wants to have it
14:47in a
14:47masculine style i'm planning to go bold yet sophisticated to start with i'm tackling the
14:54open plan living and dining room which was divided by mismatched flooring sorry moving the old worn out
15:00carpet now the floors in this property are all over the place some have got holes different color floor
15:06boards some are cut out and damaged so i want to put the floating floor boards across the living room
15:11dining room into the hallway so i want to increase the sense of space within the property yes
15:26next sheree's adding timber moldings to the walls thinking coming about 150 off the edge there
15:32maybe do like a 400 millimeter box frame at top and bottom then we'll paint it up just add some
15:39like
15:39decorative charm once the moldings are in place i can paint over the dated yellow walls with a daring
15:50ultra masculine charcoal gray that's almost black it'll certainly give a really strong contrast to
15:57the crisp white ceiling and cornices the fingers crossed i'm not going too dark with this traumatic
16:06transformation go oliver yep good back at the warehouse go michael is rapidly culling go his dad's
16:15cd and dvd collection one of the speediest sorts i've ever seen and it appears michael's having no problem
16:23letting nearly all of it go go go so peter swiftly moves on to sorting through clothes many of these
16:34items also belong to michael's dad go and again most go straight to donation bango with zero emotional
16:43attachment it's feeling a little too easy i'm worried he'll suffer huge remorse afterwards by letting go of
16:50stuff too quickly with so little reflection and i fear michael is dealing with these grief related
16:56items just like his depression getting on with it but at the same time blocking it out
17:06speed versus change which do you think i prefer change change and i'm worried at the moment that the
17:14whole emphasis here is on speed there's only one person i'm concerned about as we process through this
17:24you what is all this stuff called we're dealing with clutter
17:30clutter you want to know another term for clutter decisions delayed which makes you a
17:37a procrastinator you got it a procrastinator i'll get to that later later so clutter
17:47is decisions delayed which are things done later now one of the problems when that happens is that
17:54it takes up a ton of extra energy that rang a huge bell for me because with your disability
18:01energy how much energy do you spend compared to me five times and what that leads to
18:13is burnout yeah which leads to your state of mind which is depressed
18:22now i'm worried that you're focused on speed versus change yeah you're zooming through this and i want
18:32to be honest with you i feel like the only thing i'm doing for you right now is cleaning your
18:37house
18:39i'm worried that in a month or two months or three months you're going to be right back here
18:47i'm not confident that there's going to be any change here michael and the problem is that if you
18:53don't deal with clutter you end up in this cycle cycle yeah possibly leading back down here yeah back to
19:00back to depression so what are you going to do to break this cycle yeah it's tough but um
19:10what's tough just getting through the grief and you know and just trying to bring myself out of the uh
19:18the hole that i've gone into gone into okay that's an honest admission
19:24it's about change not speed yeah let's keep going
19:30coming up angie uncovers a unique treasure oh my god that's so special and michael faces a difficult
19:38decision because your dad made it doesn't mean that you have to keep it
19:49as the renovation continues inside michael's house
19:53outside the overgrown front garden is also getting much needed attention
19:59with michael's cerebral palsy in mind we're making the new garden beds low maintenance
20:04with slow growing plants and thick mulch to keep the weeds away
20:14removing the weeds expose the metal fence that's seen better days with the old paint flaking off
20:21it really should be repainted every seven to ten years to prevent rust
20:27so i'm using a spray gun to give it a bright new coat while making sure there's no wind so
20:32i avoid over
20:39the spray
20:39at the warehouse angie's keen to chat with michael about photos and artwork she found amongst the clutter
20:46this photo here yes i'm guessing this is your beautiful father yes he had just come back from
20:52a night out and he called out to me mikey let's take a selfie it's time to party and he
20:57loved to chat
20:57he loved the chat and that was basically about a week before he passed away oh really yeah would
21:05this be the last yes this is the last photo that that we took together oh it's a beautiful one
21:10look
21:11how happy he is and you know that you got to have a nice big chat with your dad that
21:15night absolutely
21:15what about this one so i was probably about seven that is my dad and that is my beautiful mum
21:23that's
21:23your mum do you have many photos together you three uh no no okay these are very very very special
21:32yes
21:32they are all right and this one over here is obviously your beautiful mama again what do you
21:37remember about her she was a very loving caring person so she took me to all all the appointments
21:44because my disabilities she was you know always that there for for me yeah and then can we have a
21:52little chat about these so i saw these randomly on the fridge yeah so my mum loved to just sketch
21:59things okay and then she put them up on the fridge so once she passed away my dad said to
22:03me goes oh i
22:04think that'd be good good if we kept them we'll leave them there as a good memory that's so nice
22:09so
22:09how long do you reckon they've been on the fridge for i'd say probably about 16 years maybe and they
22:14never moved never moved yeah oh my god that's so special michael's memories are beautiful so i want to
22:23take extra care of these precious photos and artwork i'm going to pop them into these new floating frames
22:29after i've sprayed them the same dark shade of gray that'll match your renault color scheme
22:37i noticed there are a lot of guitars in your home yeah my dad ever since i was young he
22:43wanted me to
22:43play an instrument because he said look i can teach you how to play right-handed even though you're
22:48left-handed so that way you can strengthen up your right hand a little bit okay and then you know
22:53you
22:53can do all the main heavy lifting with your good good hand okay so in some ways music was not
23:00just a
23:00passion but it was kind of a bit of a guerrilla way of therapy and development for you as well
23:06along with helping michael's cerebral palsy music was clearly a strong bond between father and son
23:14hopefully there are treasures here that can trigger michael to reflect on the past and make well-considered
23:20choices me and my dad made this one come on are you serious so i did all of the carving
23:32and my dad did
23:34the remainder of the work how long did this take probably i'd say about six months so he
23:42this was my first guitar seriously i'm kind of speechless it's kind of a work of art so he did
23:49all that by hand so no machines or anything definitely keep so i'm relieved that michael's
23:56not blocking this out by speeding through it these stay or go keep but for the home to finally feel
24:04like
24:04his this guy a keep okay so this is a keep as well i worry now he's keeping too much
24:13that is a puzzle that
24:15my dad put together so i would say that is a keep i want to push you a little bit
24:20at the moment
24:24because your dad made it doesn't mean that you have to keep it because it's a great memory but
24:33compared to this in terms of importance which holds greater importance the guitar absolutely yeah and i keep
24:40talking about always kind of a hierarchy of value this stands right at the very top yeah yeah so can
24:47that go yes good let's keep going yes hopefully this is a step towards getting the balance right
24:56this stay or go keep okay with michael keeping the treasures that mean the most to him
25:02and letting the rest go the tuning forks that can go okay and the harp go as well okay great
25:10so this
25:11is what's being kept here yeah this is now part of your home absolutely ready to keep going of course
25:17let's go
25:20coming up sheree feels the pressure there's a lot of painting not much time while letting go
25:27the paint crew triggers strong emotions for anne yeah it's hard yeah
25:37at michael's house the paint crew are hard at work in the living area
25:41and main bedroom all right there's a lot of painting not much time the old bedroom that was
25:47originally michael's mum and dad's was definitely stuck in the past but the wall color was a really good
25:53idea green is very calming so to modernize it i'm going a couple of shades darker
26:03all right here we go i also want to make sure the bedroom feels really comfortable underfoot
26:08the carpet that was here before had been here for about 30 years
26:13so we're laying a plush new carpet in a neutral gray to offset the wall color
26:28outside new bedroom furniture sheree ordered has arrived
26:32the old bed michael was sleeping in was actually his dad's with a dark heavy headboard and side
26:39tables that desperately need replacing so i've chosen a beautiful light timber but still a small
26:45nod towards michael and his dad's shared love of wood it's actually a really good bed for this room
26:50isn't it because there's not much room on the side so the fact this bed's got drawers down the end
26:54i love it
27:01over at the warehouse angie is tackling a woodwork project of her own this sundial was left unfinished
27:09by michael's dad after he passed away so i really want to honor his memory by completing it the timber
27:16base needs restoring after years of sitting in a pile outside luckily the wood hasn't started to rot
27:23so i'm sanding it right back then giving it three coats of marine grade varnish to protect it from
27:28the sun and rain as the doll shows no sign of rust i can polish it up with metal cleaner
27:35to make it look
27:36as good as new to add a stand to the base i picked up a second hand bird bar it's
27:43covered in algae growth
27:44but it'll clean up a treat with hot soapy water and a little bit of elbow grease once done this
27:51will
27:51become the centerpiece of michael's renewed front garden and a beautiful reminder of his dad
27:57so michael we gathered all of the pieces of woodwork yes and we've laid them out here on the tables
28:04a lot yes the woodwork projects michael's dad scott spent decades building are perhaps the most
28:12difficult part of his legacy to deal with but i'm hoping michael can strike a thoughtful balance
28:18while choosing what to keep and what to let go of because if he goes back to rushing now he
28:24might
28:24regret his decisions forever okay so these items here uh that can go okay these guys that they can go
28:32okay this guy keep why because it was one of his puzzles that he would talk about all the time
28:39he would
28:40always say well how did i get get in there and how did he get it in there he ended
28:44up just weakening the
28:46hole and then he got a mallet and then he smashed the arrow through he smashed the arrow through that
28:51hole yeah i think he did it with magic but okay i'll accept it anyway okay so this is staying
28:56yeah
28:58it's great to see michael so engaged i made this with my dad at his workshop good so this is
29:04the key
29:05yep yep and that speed mode is off that's got a lot of memories he threw it into our front
29:11yard
29:11and he forgot about it for a week and it was still there it was stuck right right in the
29:15ground
29:16so that is a keep okay but he's also making the tough decisions they really don't hold any significant
29:22memories to me okay so they can be done okay good this guy uh donate
29:30i'm sorry what's going through your head right now oh just how much he used to talk about this
29:37table how proud he was of it yeah this would definitely be a keep yeah i just remember scotty
29:43like his personality him you know all the craft work he used to do just his bubbly stuff i just
29:50can
29:50feel him in it almost yeah yeah it's hard yeah emotionally the grief is a lot closer to the
29:59surface for anne but michael clearly also cherishes his dad's memory he was very very very proud okay
30:06so again this is a huge memory piece absolutely and is getting the balance right state uh go no longer
30:15over representing his dad in what can now become michael's home last of all good shot of your dad
30:21keith okay good amazing job how are you feeling yeah good because all this stuff that i've kept is
30:29stuff that he will talk about all the time and every single story once you start telling it your face
30:34lights up you light up like a christmas tree there it is there and he steps right back in not
30:42as a ghost
30:42but as a really happy memory yeah there it is yeah okay we still have a little bit more to
30:49do that's
30:50good come on coming up as sheree's team race to make their deadline oh my god michael and anne are
31:01stunned by their declutter result i can't believe it
31:09as the renovation rubbish is being removed from the front of michael's house inside the team still
31:17have a lot to get done in a short amount of time
31:22to modernize the entryway's old curved style picture rails sheree's replacing them with the same
31:28square edge timber mouldings as the living and dining room while this will tie together the spaces i'm
31:34cautious not to overdo michael's preferred masculine style so to offset the dark and moody living area
31:40i'm painting the entry and hallway a bright warm neutral and to make the dark colored living and
31:47dining room pop good lighting is crucial the two old pendants gave me a bad 1980s vibe
31:55so i'm replacing one with an eye-catching gold dome
31:59and the other with a sleek minimalist look plus we're adding down lights and wall lights to show
32:06off the elegant new furniture and cabinetry we're installing as well as the old treasures coming back
32:13to the house meanwhile michael's fully engaged with culling the last of the clutter keep going
32:22good i can go making well considered choices be it for shoes artwork go bedding good table and chairs go
32:34or old furniture second couch go and go while angie tallies up how much is being donated to charity
32:47okay good finally it's time for the results of the huge effort michael and you have worked incredibly
32:56hard to go through a mountain of clutter that michael we brought from your house here to the hall crazy

35:08and the bedroom is organized please tell me this is the laundry basket awesome one of michael's big
35:15problems he has a floor drove all over the place
35:26i must admit i've stepped out of my comfort zone trying to get this masculine style right
35:32i was worried it could end up looking a bit bleak but the beautiful pieces michael's dad created
35:38really helped the spaces come alive with a striking unique identity
35:44so i'm hoping this is exactly the kind of bachelor pad michael be proud to call his own
35:54coming up oh my god oh wow the renovation blows michael and ann away oh my god that looks amazing
36:10michael and ann are about to see the renovated home for the first time

37:26sorry you've done an amazing job thank you so much the tears say it all all right first of all
37:32i went
37:33the bold color scheme michael i really want this property to feel masculine what do you think of the
37:37color oh i think it's incredible you've actually got these gorgeous cornices and what the black does it
37:41actually makes them pop your walls were pretty plain before so we added these wall moldings just to
37:46make them look better and we've also installed all new gorgeous lighting so even though it's a really
37:52dark color it doesn't feel like a dark home i think the biggest change for me was taking out your
37:57grungy
37:58carpet that's been here for about 30 or 40 years yes and you've got these beautiful floating floorboards
38:05now and your dad's coffee table is the centerpiece of the room incredible it looks amazing yeah it does
38:12there's also the dining room which is an extension of this space turn around and check out your dining room
38:16oh my god wow wow
38:25wow that's so good i love it it's incredible
38:31the dining room continues the bold inviting theme ready for michael to entertain guests
38:38oh the plate yeah the plate on display well michael i want you to have friends over so you've got
38:45a
38:45beautiful dining setting there for six people you've got the dome light so it's a bit of mood
38:49lighting through there beautiful you've got a beautiful buffet so lots of storage again your
38:53little treasures are there and you've got the beautiful privacy curtains there beautiful
39:00the entry was another throwback to a bygone era with dreary yellow walls old furniture
39:08and gym equipment that made for a cluttered space
39:11so check out your new entry hall wow yeah it's so good i love that
39:22now it's bright elegant and functional perfectly connecting the rest of the house
39:29incredible yeah it looks amazing i love what you've done with my mum's picture
39:35uh-huh framed it up yeah it's so good i thought it would be nice to have the memories right
39:42as you
39:43walk in yeah all my dad's woodwork as well yeah it's wonderful well we painted throughout we've
39:50obviously put the storage shelves it's really nice and bright now and it's a very different contrast to
39:55the black color incredible it's beautiful i think it's going to be an amazing new start for him with his
40:02dad's little memories here and there but also a new place that says mikey's home
40:10the bedroom was largely how michael's dad left it
40:14with his generation's furniture and style making michael feel like he didn't belong there
40:22oh wow that's incredible
40:32wow it's so beautiful that looks amazing oh my god i love it
40:40now it's been reborn with a modern sophisticated update fit for a 25 year old young man
40:48look at the furniture yeah the bed amazing oh the walls incredible oh and the carpet yeah the carpet
40:56curtains curtains the beautiful wood furniture stunning oh i'm glad you like it so we've painted
41:02throughout did this beautiful green color it's a very relaxing color which is really appropriate for
41:08a bedroom we put the wall moldings on for decorative effect we've got the same pendant
41:13light that's in the dining room beautiful to tie the rooms together we've got the beautiful blockout
41:18curtains so they won't let the sun in if you don't want them to and this gorgeous bedroom suite and
41:24i
41:24chose this one because it's all made of wood it's a little nod to your dad and here
41:29a bit of a nod to your dad as well oh incredible well this was your dad's room and your
41:34dad's home
41:35for me now it has your imprint all over it does it feel like your space yes absolutely
41:42i absolutely love it it's everything i could have ever wanted for it to feel like my home
41:48we still have one more beautiful space to show you you ready for another little surprise absolutely
41:53then let's do it the front yard was badly overgrown and a maintenance nightmare with weeds overrunning
42:00every garden bed it's the first time you've seen the yard wow wow
42:12now low maintenance plants and a thick layer of mulch promise less upkeep giving michael
42:19more time to focus on his hopes and dreams oh incredible i love it first of all have you noticed
42:26that your fence is a different color yes it looks amazing we also did a big de-weeding of your
42:32garden
42:32you might remember it looked a little bit like a forest yeah a little bit you went to the nursery
42:37and chose these plants they're all low maintenance so they'll grow beautifully and you'll have a really
42:41established garden that you won't need to some tend to too often and this one special thing here as
42:47well ang well i love going through all the little treasures and i did find your dad's sundial at the
42:54back and i've given him a bit of a george so you can come out here and you've got a
42:58little piece of
42:59your dad out here still as well amazing awesome michael how have you found the week it's been an
43:04incredibly rewarding experience and i thank you so much for helping me through it
43:12living with cerebral palsy and losing both parents at a young age led to clutter taking over michael's
43:18home but with ann's support and the courage to engage with his past he's made space in his life for
43:27a
43:27bright new future
