00:07It really goes back to the fact that I was fortunate enough to have a nerd as a dad.
00:13I mean, it got me through some things.
00:15As a five-year-old trying to figure out how the world worked, I could just, you know what?
00:19This is going to stimulate and engage me.
00:22And of course, it's all because of my dad.
00:26Why I learned how to become a programmer and eventually a designer.
00:32And my dad showed me all of that.
00:35So gaming really started for me as a connective experience, you know, connecting with others.
00:41It goes back to my family, right?
00:42It was one Christmas that my younger brother and I got the NES.
00:46And my mom and dad walking in at different times.
00:48We shared all of that together.
00:50I've spent my entire life playing and making video games.
00:57And it's easy to say that I don't think that would be true if it wasn't for Nintendo.
01:04It is so exciting to be able to develop a game for the platform.
01:09To have Nintendo Switch 2 in hand while we're making Borderlands 4 for Nintendo Switch 2 is really exciting.
01:18Usually, we'll have to port a game to a platform.
01:22But in this case, we're making Borderlands 4 for the Nintendo Switch 2.
01:27And I think that when you play Borderlands 4 on Nintendo Switch 2, you'll realize that with the cooperative experience
01:36and how we can use the Nintendo Switch 2 platform to connect with friends, share our game with friends, it's
01:45pretty astonishing how perfect this platform is for Borderlands 4.
01:50The most exciting thing to me about the Nintendo Switch 2 is to see where we're going to go with
01:56this new connected world.
01:58Gaming is a shared social experience.
02:00It's why we as developers continue to make games that have adventure, but adventure with friends as well.
02:07Nintendo Switch 2 makes that accessible to us as developers, to players, to our friend groups.
02:15Wherever they are in this weird, wild world, we can explore the Borderlands together.
02:21The Nintendo Switch 2 has been a joy to work with.
02:25It's very powerful.
02:27It's an incredible machine in a very tight form factor.
02:32And we love being on the bleeding edge with our graphics and the experience that we're creating.
02:40And the Nintendo Switch 2 makes all that possible.
02:44We don't feel like we're fighting the system.
02:47We feel like the system's enabling us and empowering us to make the best version of Borderlands 4 we can.
02:53As a game developer, it's awesome.
02:55We are taking some leaps with Borderlands 4.
02:57It is familiar if you've ever played a Borderlands game before, but it's the first time we're in a seamless
03:04world.
03:04A massive world.
03:06And you can go anywhere.
03:08If you can see it on the screen in the distance, miles away, you can go there.
03:13And it's Borderlands, so we can be a little crazy.
03:17You can double jump in a first-person shooter.
03:20You can dash to the side.
03:22You can use a grappling hook to launch yourself far away.
03:25It's really fun to maneuver in ways that we've never been able to maneuver before in Borderlands.
03:32And we're bringing it to you in Borderlands 4 on Nintendo Switch 2.
03:36So we love to take our time developing Borderlands games.
03:39But it's important to us that when we set out to do a next chapter in a Borderlands saga, that
03:46we're excited and we're inspired by it.
03:49So taking more time with Borderlands means that we can make more enemies, that we can tune our humor and
03:56our tone and our story.
03:57We can invent more weird guns, right?
04:00So the extra time, we literally started Borderlands 4 right on the heels of Borderlands 3 shipping back in 2019.
04:07So six years, and we've spent every one of those years with our team working on filling up Borderlands with
04:14great adventure.
