00:00My New Year's resolution was to have dinner with somebody new every Thursday night.
00:04She's on the prowl for friendship.
00:0731-year-old Jessie Wright has decided to go to dinner once a week for a year with a stranger
00:12in order to make new friends.
00:14This is worse than a blind date. I think it's because I actually care if these people like me.
00:18After moving to Melbourne, Australia in 2019, Wright went through a breakup and then struggled to make new friends due
00:25to the coronavirus lockdown.
00:26She put out a call on her Instagram in January to see who might be interested and says she was
00:32flooded with responses.
00:34The dinner has now become the highlight of her week.
00:37Wright tells SWNS she's kept in touch with all the women she's met so far and hopes to throw a
00:43big dinner or party for all 52 of her friends at the end of the year.
