00:00Flight delays and cancellations happen. It's like a law of nature. Just this past January,
00:05Politico reported that a computer outage at the Federal Aviation Administration brought
00:09flights to a standstill across the U.S. with hundreds of delays quickly cascading through
00:14the system at airports nationwide. But just because delays and cancellations happen doesn't
00:19mean there isn't anything we can do about them, and one of the best preventative measures
00:23a traveler can take is waking up before sunrise and booking an early morning flight. According
00:28to HuffPost, this is the best time to fly to reduce delays and cancellations. Later flights
00:34typically rely on crew and aircraft from previous segments of the day, so they're more susceptible
00:39to problems. Flights that get delayed in the morning have a ripple effect that affects everyone
00:43throughout the day. Not only that, but parking may cost less in the morning, and weather-wise,
00:49experts agree that turbulence is harder to come by before noon, globally. So the next time
00:54you book your flight, consider toughing out an early wake-up call and having a much more
00:59pleasant flying experience.
