00:00If you'd like to closely track your federal tax return, the IRS has multiple options for you, reports Money Talks

00:07First, you need to know that the status of your refund is updated once each day, during the overnight hours,
00:14so you can check every day if you like.
00:17Second, it takes the IRS less than 21 days to issue 90% of refunds.
00:22There are three ways you can track your return.
00:24You can use the free online tool, Where's My Refund, to stay up to date.
00:29The free IRS app, IRS2Go, not only allows you to track your return, you can make a payment through it,
00:36find assistance and tips.
00:38And for the less technological ones, pick up the phone and call the IRS Automated Refund Telephone Hotline.
00:44Dial 800-829-1954.
00:48As simple as that, just remember that to track your refund, you'll need to have your Social Security or Taxpayer
00:54ID number, filing status, and the exact refund amount on your return.
