Inside the Maps and Modes Shaping HEAT’s Combat. World of Tanks: HEAT drops third "Foundations" Video: Points of Contact.

World of Tanks: HEAT has released the latest entry in its Foundations video series, offering a closer look at the upcoming game’s maps and modes. This new chapter explores how each battlefield and game type is crafted to deliver intense, dynamic combat where every match feels thrilling and unpredictable.

Based on real-world locations, the maps in World of Tanks: HEAT span a wide range of biomes, settings, and visual styles. While every battlefield offers a distinct look and feel, they’re also designed to support multiple playstyles that will work seamlessly across all four game modes.

With four head-to-head combat modes available, players can adapt their strategy from match to match. All modes support respawns, rewarding aggressive play and experimentation. These include:

Conquest (10v10)
More than any other game mode, Conquest rewards map awareness.
Capture bases to rack up victory points and hold multiple bases to build your lead.
Keep an eye on dynamic events like bombing runs and elimination challenges, which can swing momentum in either direction.

Hardpoint (5v5)
Control points known as "Hardpoints" spring up across the map, creating a constant patchwork of skirmishes.
As with Conquest, base control is key—but since the control points keep changing locations, you'll need to adapt fast.
When you capture a Hardpoint, think defense first.

Control (5v5)
This intensely competitive mode requires strategic thinking and cooperation.
Fight for a single “Control Zone” and reach 100% to win.
If an enemy remains in the circle, progress remains at 99% and will eventually trigger Overtime, giving the losing team a chance to win it back
Use your abilities wisely; your decision can turn the fight either way.

Kill Confirmed (5v5)
Close, intense, and aggressive, Kill Confirmed rewards those who can think on their feet.
Killing an opponent is only half the job; collect their token to score the point.
You can grab your teammate’s dropped tokens to deny points to the enemy team, but keep in mind the enemy can do the same.
On top of that, power-ups will drop across the map— grab them before the other team does.
The World of Tanks: HEAT team will continue to keep fine-tuning existing modes and introducing new ones as the game evolves.

00:08Heat's Battlefields are designed to be highly diverse in their natural settings and visual appeal.
00:14But they all have two things in common.
00:17First, all of them are based on real-life locations.
00:21And second, regardless of the story behind them,
00:24every arena is crafted to encourage a range of play styles
00:27and support each of the four game modes Heat has to offer.
00:31Let's break them down.
00:34Conquest, a 10v10 mode that rewards map awareness more than any other.
00:40Your main objective is to capture and hold multiple bases to build your league.
00:46But while you're fighting for supremacy,
00:48keep an eye on dynamic events that can grant you bonus points,
00:52like bombing runs or elimination challenges.
00:55They'll help you either keep the pressure on the opposing team or flip the course of a match.
01:01Hard Point, a 5v5 mode that requires intelligent use of space.
01:07Area control is the key to victory.
01:10But here, Hard Points change location, turning the landscape into a constant patchwork of skirmishes.
01:17Whenever you capture a Hard Point, think defense first.
01:21It may sound counterintuitive, but defending the spot over chasing kills is a more reliable way to victory.
01:28Control.
01:29This 5v5 mode is the most competitive of all,
01:33and requires strategic thinking and coordinated team play.
01:38You're fighting for one single control zone,
01:41and once you capture it to 100%, the round is yours.
01:44But there's a catch.
01:46A 99% capture with at least one enemy tank at the base triggers overtime,
01:52giving the losing team a chance to come back and seize a clutch victory.
01:57This is where it's crucial to use your abilities wisely.
02:01Every action you take can tip the balance of a fight either way.
02:05So keep your head cool and play smart.
02:09Last but not least, Kill Confirmed.
02:12A 5v5 mode that demands aggression and quick thinking in close and tense fights.
02:18Killing an opponent is only half the story.
02:21To score a point, you also need to collect their token.
02:25And you better be quick.
02:27If one of their teammates grabs it first, you'll be left with nothing but a damage tank and wasted effort.
02:33To add an extra gameplay element, power-ups will appear in a map to enhance your performance and give you
02:40an extra edge.
02:43Not to mention that every mode features respawns, rewarding aggressive play and the trial and error approach to combat.
02:51We'll keep fine-tuning the existing modes and introducing new ones as the game evolves.
02:57And we hope you find your favorite map-mode combos.
03:01Stay tuned and see you at a release!
