00:00Some airports across the country are seeing an influx of people that meet and even surpass
00:05pre-pandemic travel. But staffing issues continue to be a problem for certain airports.
00:11David Pekoski, a TSA administrator, told Travel Weekly that many airports have completely
00:17redone their operation or have built new facilities. New infrastructure and technology
00:22is being implemented at some of the busiest airports in the country. Pekoski added the
00:27biggest increase in passenger volume was seen in Austin, Texas. Newark and LaGuardia have added
00:32a new terminal, while Denver's airport is currently getting work done. The new tech involves upgrading
00:38the software on its advanced imaging technology machines and the rollout of full-size computed
00:44tomography x-ray systems, which could potentially speed up security screenings by allowing travelers
00:49to keep more items in their carry-on bags. And down the line, there's the potential of a mobile ID
00:55system. Travel Leisure says that for now, TSA PreCheck continues to be the fastest way to get
01:01through security for an annual fee of $70 online.
